We came to Salt Yard to celebrate my friend's birthday, and we had such a wonderful experience! Everything from start to finish was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were great, and the salad was especially fresh and flavorful. The service was fantastic--everyone was attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. The ambiance was outstanding and made the birthday celebration feel even more special. It's such a beautiful place with a great atmosphere. Overall, we really enjoyed everything about our evening. Great food, great drinks, wonderful service, and an amazing ambiance. Definitely a five-star experience, and we'll absolutely be coming back!

First time here and I really enjoyed the food. They were able to split the beet salad for us and the truffle mushroom ravioli was SO good! The bread and butter was complimentary and very delicious as well. Service was really slow. Maybe it was because were were sitting outside. Maybe next time I'll sit inside and see if it improves.

Beet salad was a large portion so I shared with my family. I'm not a huge beet fan, but the salad dressing and goat cheese flavors meshed well together to make the beets more tolerable. The seafood linguini was very tasty, the mussels were fresh and there were also small scallops and shrimp. The tomato sauce of the linguini was just acidic enough to cut the fishiness of the seafood. We finished our dinner with chocolate lava with vanilla ice cream - there wasn't actually chocolate lava spewing out the cake like I'm used to, but the cake was hot and moist, and paired well with the vanilla ice cream. My aunt frequently likes to dine at this restaurant since she lives near downtown Burlingame, and the menu is pretty solid for a more modern Italian restaurant. There's a bar where solo diners can sit as well. There's interesting decor such as a huge wall of wine bottles. Waiters are attentive, cleared our plates and refill our waters without us asking.

Got the chance to vist saltyard last night for a little date night with my partner and had a wonderful time. Great service good food and fantastic atmosphere. It was pretty quiet when we got there at 7pm so we started with some drinks while looking at the menu I got the basil sour - basil mezcal sour - 10/10 absolutely fantastic. My partner got the classic old fashioned they use a 30 day barrel aged bourbon to it it a very smooth taste 9/10 Next we got starts I got the carpaccio and my partner got the truffle parmesan fries. The carpaccio was fantastic super fresh ingredients and tasted divine. Only note o would add is there was a little to much arugula to the portion of meat. 9/10. My partner said the fries were good would have definitely added some more truffle the Parmesan was a bit over powering 7.5/10 Onto the mains, I got the salmon with spinach, mash all with a dill vodka cream sauce. Portion size was great and fish was cooked perfectly. The star of the fish was definitely that sauce it was delicious. 9/10 my partner got the short ribs with mash and carrots. Overall he loved the flavors of the dish but wished the carrots were cooked a bit more and that there was more sauce for the short ribs. He still throughly enjoyed his dish 7.5/10 Then to end the night we got salted caramel gelato with a second round of old fashioned and glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Gelato was incredible the texture was perfect and flavor was just right. Definitely would come back just for some cocktails and gelato alone haha. The menu here has a good mixture of items definitely something for everyone from seafood to pasta to steaks to even a burger. Great labeled menu with allergies and dietary restrictions They have a great wine list with lots of various options for by the glass or by the bottle. Special shoutout to our waiter Herbert for making the experience so enjoyable he coursed out our whole meal and check on us regularly at just the right times and gave great recommendations very knowledgeable. Overall will definitely be coming back here again for another date night!

Service was still great and everyone was super friendly! Some of the items like the linguine were on the saltier side but otherwise the rest of the food was delicious!

Went in for a quiet afternoon on a Monday. Bartender was great and recommended the short rib. It was unbelievable. So tender and perfect and a very good sized portion. I also think their butter has rosemary in it, great surprise.

Another pleasant surprise during my recent trip to the Bay Area. The menu looked limited so I was not looking forward to eating here as someone else in my party picked this place. Well egg on my face. The truffle mushroom ravioli was the best ravioli I have ever eaten in my life. The richness of the sauce enhanced the plump ravioli and it left me salivating my whole meal. The side of Brussels sprouts were also a hit as well. As with the rest of the places I visited on this trip, the service was great.

Well, I'm sorry to see this place as a 3.9 stars and I have to honestly say I don't see why. I was met promptly at the door and seated. I was immediately asked if I would like flat or sparkling I ordered the skirt steak without mashed potatoes. I had to do this because the bread is so amazing. I limited myself to one piece. The butter is divine. Aperol spritz has all the right components and well balanced Restrooms super clean and a nice ambient beat is playing in the background. Great outdoor seating gorgeous restaurant inside definitely I will be back.

So far, service is amazing. The calamari was perfectly crunchy. The spring rolls were alright, but everything else was excellent. The atmosphere felt cozy with many bottles of wine lining the walls. This place is known most for their pasta, so of course we had to order some. The pasta came fast, with Parmesan cheese service . The truffle ravioli was decent. While the rest were delicious. Overall, this is a must try.

This is a hidden gem for their lunch specials! We're talking about like more upscale dining with suits and ties for around $30. Forget your SF restaurant week because this is every M-F and isn't going away. Comes with salad or soup and the salad was great. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer and thay was 5/5 delicious real crab with a good aioli sauce. My coworker had the salmon and it was a whole piece with all the veggies and potatoes with the sherbet for dessert. Totally worth it. My steak was an additional $20 upcharge but it was a good steak. Also, with all the fixings like veggies and stuff. Not a fan of their sherbet, but whatever. Service was decent. Great view of the Burlingame street to people watch. Would recommend for an upscale lunch.

One of the things I find most frustrating about work is that the bar for mediocrity is set highly; the daily overexertion I pour into the cup of the collective is not celebrated or recognized as it is the standard to give 110%. Sometimes in my bluer days I wish that getting up and going to work was celebrated as an achievement in and of itself. I wish that my smiles and my right answers, my mini victories in knowing what to do, the accumulation and application of my experience, the precarious balance of the tiny tasks that are unsung and highly necessary, I wish it made my heart sing louder. I want to untie work validation from my internal validation, the same engine that feels good when running hot in the office can come from other tracks. I want to work on that this year, though I admit that the desire hasn't translated into the action yet. Luckily, I think I don't have to change my mediocrity meter for Yelp. To get the shrimp add on to my pasta, it was an additional $10 for five shrimp. TEN DOLLLARS??? FOR 5 TINY SHRIMP??? oh excuse me, the menu calls them prawns ... PRAWNS?? These tiny tough little morsels??? I KNOW they came in a frozen bag!! The things new American / wine bar / corporate card restaurants can get away with!!!! The teriyaki skirt steak was oh so sweet, the amount of sugar could eliminate and shroud any crimes of the beef itself, so sweet it felt like panda express. We're losing the art of nice casual you guys, or perhaps the suburbs never had it .-.

Came here for a dinner date with my boyfriend after we watched John Wick in theaters. It's a very lovely restaurant in Burlingame, a great choice for a nice night out for a date and/or feeling a bit bougie. We saw a few families, including a married couple with a baby. The bar is gorgeous, and we sat at a booth across from it. We enjoyed our entrees! We had: Risotto: Tiger prawns, bay scallops, shrimp, spinach, sundried tomatoes and shrimp bisque mascarpone sauce Seafood Linguini: Tiger prawns, bay scallops, shrimp, clams & mussles, lightly spiced with chili flex, served with tomato-basil light cream marinara sauce For dessert, we got cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. Both recommended! Verdict: would recommend Saltyard for a higher-end meal out without breaking the bank

Pomegranate Titos, lemon lime and egg whites! amazing!!!!

The food was just ok. We started with bruschetta and fritto misto. The pappardelle alla norcina was inoffensive. It had plenty of mushrooms, but I substituted chicken for shrimp at an extra cost and got a total of 6 tiny shrimps. It normally comes with chicken, but the traditional Umbrian dish is pork sausage so they just wanted a fancy name for especially alfredo sauce with artifical truffle oil. The ambience was pretty lively for a Tuesday night, so I could just barely hear everyone talking. While they've won me over with excellent appetizers, Stella's pastas don't hold a candle to my favorite spots. The Truffle-Stuffed Gnocchi with Brown Butter & Sage tastes like two dishes in one with flavors that don't necessary meld well; it's one of the restaurant's most popular dishes, but for me, the truffle overpowers the delicate brown butter sauce. As for Gianna's Eggplant Parmigiana, the texture of the thinly-sliced eggplant doesn't make for the silkiest bite; I wasn't expecting such a rough mouthfeel from this dish. I made reservations for our party of eight for 6:30 PM via OpenTable. Easy peasy. Adding a few extra minutes to our travel time for finding street parking, we arrived just in time. No other tables were occupied, inside nor outside at the front patio. The venue, a warm space with dramatic lighting, was very clean and tidy during our visit. Trapeze's menu offers Italian fare with Mediterranean and Californian nuances. Upon seating, we were served baskets of complimentary bread accompanied with a unique red thick dipping oil which Peter enjoyed so much that he asked for more. The servers happily gave us extra servings. In addition to cocktails, wine, and coffee drinks, below are what we ordered for dinner: Lemon Citrus and Avocado Salad ($13) - I believe that Mom ordered this and found it to be light and refreshing. Ahi Tuna Tartar ($20) - I think that Peter and Mara shared this and ate it all up. I didn't hear any comments on it, though. Beet Salad ($14) - A very nice salad with generous slices of red and yellow beets and goat cheese. For an additional $12, Auntie Marissa added Salmon to her salad and had it as her main dish which filled her up. Grilled Polenta Cake ($12) - Auntie Marissa found this starter to be rich and filling. She said that Pal would really like it. Penne Con Pomodora E Melanzane ($20) - DJ was not very impressed by this bowl of pasta and eggplant, unfortunately. Paella Valencia ($32) - Uncle Danny is not a big seafood eater, but he was very pleased with this Spanish rice dish. Grilled Filet Mignon ($50) - Yum! This was my order and I loved it. Duck Ragu ($26) - Peter did not seem as enthusiastic about this pasta dish as he did with the complimentary red dipping oil for the baskets of bread. Penne Al Forno ($26) - Mom ordered this and thought that it was good. Classic Italian Tiramisu ($12) - This was served to me on the house, topped with a lit candle for my birthday. Everyone enjoyed sharing it. Bread Pudding ($13) - Ok, according to DJ. Trio of French Mini-Chocolate Beignets ($12) - These round beignets were like light donut holes filled with chocolate. They were nice, especially with the side of whipped cream and sliced strawberries. Service was excellently friendly, accommodating, and attentive. Good food, but poor service. I won't be coming back.

Well deserved Bib Gourmand status! It was a beautiful day, with sunlight filtering though the tree…read moreleaves as I was sat outside for my dinner. I ordered the house made focaccia and margherita pizza. Yes, I love carbs. The foccacia is delicious. The bread goes through a 72 hour dough maturation so it develops these really complex, mouthwatering, savory flavors even though it's made with simple ingredients: yeast, flour (Primitiva), salt, and brushed olive oil. That's it! The crumb is fine and as light as the puffy clouds in the sky. If you wanted to, you could probably ball up a piece of bread the size of my hand into the size of a ping pong ball, but why would you? Enjoy the bread as it is presented. The edges of the bread are charred a little, adding extra texture and flavor. I'm actually kind of confused how to eat the bread as it's cut into large hunks, but there's no butter or dipping oils, so I ended up gnawing into the bread like a rat. The margherita pizza came out pre cut, but the paper-thin crust in the middle of the pie was somehow still substantial enough to not get soggy that quickly. The huge leaves of basil were very fragrant, and the tomato sauce was bright, balanced, and captured the best essence of tomato. It played well with the cheese. The crust was made of a different dough, chewy, pliable, savory, and spotted beautifully. Service was wonderful. The waiter boxed up my leftover pizza (and even asked if I wanted to box up the slice of pizza crust I couldn't finish-yes of course!). Very thoughtful. It's a shame I was too full to order dessert.

Went for a dinner date before a movie and found the restaurant particularly well suited for sharing…read moreseveral dishes over a bottle/glass of wine. For starters, we shared the meat & cheese board which our waitress recommended the off menu combo plate (2 meats & 2 cheeses for ~$40). Solid and straightforward rather than elaborate. The breads and especially the lard were the more interesting part. For entrees, we shared the diavola pizza: Good flavor with the crust being the standout. Worth mentioning that it's a softer, fork-and-knife style pizza rather than a crispy slice. Paired with the pizza was the Red wine mezzi rigatoni. Probably the most interesting savory dish. The pork sausage ragù and crispy sage made it different from a standard rigatoni. Pasta + Pizza was a great shareable combo. Lastly to round off the meal, desserts. The Chocolate trifle was the disappointment. The amount of foam overwhelmed everything else and made it underwhelming. The bomboloni were much better, particularly with the peaches. Tobias Take: Great option for people who want wine, charcuterie/cheese and several dishes for the table to share. Their meat/cheese selection and wine list are major strengths. This place shines when you order several things for the table rather than everyone ordering an individual entrée.

The service is always extremely friendly when we're there. When we asked to sit outside but there wasn't a table size that could accommodate us, they rushed over to bring another table and more chairs over so we could sit where we wanted, without us even asking. We've gotten a few different drinks here, including the French Martini, the Part Time Lover, and a few different glasses of wine, and each are tasty, refreshing, and well-portioned! The food is also very good. Most recently, we had the ravioli di bufala, the penne bolognese, garlic bread, and the wagyu beef burger, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals! Everything was solid - flavorful and well-cooked. This has become a go-to restaurant when my family visits, because they're welcoming, friendly, and very reliable! We'll be back soon, Farm & Vine!

Cozy restaurant near Burlingame Ave…read more Arugula salad was ok, pretty typical dressing, we added chicken to it for protein. Focaccia was free, and was paired with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Squid ink pasta was a stand out - noodles were perfectly el dente and the sauce was flavorful and creamy. I was surprised at the amount of bay scallops that were in the dish. Tiramisu ended the meal, decent dessert, I could actually taste the coffee that the lady fingers were soaked in, so it wasn't dry. The mascarpone was a bit hard, like it was just in the fridge but the flavor was still good. Solid modern Italian restaurant, ambience is pretty casual and a lot of customers were ordering wine around us, so it's a nice place to unwind for dinner.
