I went halfsies on two sandwiches from Salty's and color me impressed. They were decent sized, yet light, fresh and tasty. We went with the #1 and #2 - and both were so tasty, but I'd give my vote to the chicken pesto sandwich however, the turkey on dutch crunch was also so tasty. The only note: I'd ask for light mayo. There is so much going on in the sandwiches, less mayo would have let those other ingredients shine even more. Sandwiches are about $16/$17 a pop which is sadly the going rate for tasty sandwiches these days. 100% I'd return for a filling sandwich lunch.

I had a hankering for a breakfast sandwich with pastrami. I had been here before and remembered they had such a sando on the menu. Was created as soon as I walked in. The place is clean and well organized. The person at the counter gave me a recommendation on a caffeinated drink. Cardi B. Is a tasty Cardamom & brown sugar latte that was amazing 10/10 Pastrami, egg & Swiss with cucumber, mayo & light mustard hit the spot. 8.5/10 I will definitely be back to try other items especially since the pricing was reasonable

I went here on a Tuesday for lunch and there wasn't too much of a wait since they were about to close for the day. I ordered food for to-go here since I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it in one sitting, but mainly because they were about to close. Anyways, I got the Glorious Bastard and also the Fudge Brownie. The Glorious Bastard is so good! I loved how many ingredients is in it and how it's almost like a simple, yet flavorful turkey sandwich too because of all the veggies in it. The brownie was good too and it was moist and crumbly. I'd recommend this place! Everything I tried that day tasted good, but the sandwich might be a tiny bit pricy. I still think I found my new favorite sandwich place though!

I love a GOOD sandwich. This was my first time trying Salty's. Of course I had to get the Dutch crunch bread. The sauce on this sandwich is legit finger licking good.

Overall rating: 4/5 Stopped by around 9:30am on a Wednesday and was warmly greeted by the friendly staff. Around that time, the shop was calm and not very busy. There are a few tables inside if you're interested to eat there. It was our first time and the worker was very helpful and patient, assisting us to pick our sandwich. We ended up ordering the Glorious Bastard - the most popular sandwich item on their menu. It was a solid sandwich. I really liked the sauce in it. But outside from that, everything else was pretty standard. Would I come back? Yes, but probably only if I'm around the area Would I recommend this place? Yes

    BLTA

awful. I used to really like it. The last 4 times they keep messing up my order. What part of a BLT do you add ranch???? I asked for mayo like 3 times and they put ranch. Unfortunately it would be okay if they messed up once but 4 times?????? STOP PUTING RACH IN MY SANDWICH. If I could put a 0 I would.

This by far is one of the BEST POSSIBLE SANDWICHES IN SF!!! Hands down they make a mean sandwich so worth the price! I can't go one month without one!! Yummy and the service is on point! They know how to make a sandwich, I get the ham salami and turkey in a soft roll with lettuce cucumbers and pickles!!!

Chicken was moist, tasty and messy, all the ingredients merged together into a harmony of flavors. I was only going to eat half but was sooo good I kept eating and then there was none... I may try the sliced sourdough next sammy. Overall a nice clean samich spot that gets you in n out like the burger!

Date: Tuesday, November 7th, 2023 What: Lunch Delivery Party of: 2 Time Ordered: around 1:45pm Time Delivered: around 2:30pm How: DoorDash (DD) Delivered To: Outer Richmond *Glorious Bastard: Turkey, Bacon, Avocado, Pepper Jack, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickled Onions & Garlic Mayo on Dutch Crunch ($15.95) *Pastrami Papi: Hot Pastrami, Swiss Cheese, Pepperoncini, Dijon Mustard & Garlic Mayo on sliced Rye ($14.95) *Ricky Ricardo: Cubano Sandwich with Ham, Smoked Pork, Swiss Cheese, Pickles, Jalapenos, and a Garlic Mustard sauce ($14.95) The hubby wanted sandwiches and picked Salty's. I'm a turkey and pepperjack kind of girl, so I picked the glorious bastard. The filling was good and ample. I do wish we could swap out the bread or make notes on DD. I'm definitely not a sweet and salty kind of person. so the bread was not my thing. I don't eat much bread anyways, but it would have been nice to be able to modify that at least. The hubby got the other two and seemed to enjoy them. He does love his reubens and and this seemed to fit the bill. Solid place for sandwiches. Just wish I could choose my own bread.

I've had Salty's bookmarked on Google Maps but haven't made the time to go or wasn't in the mood for a sandwich when I was in the neighborhood until recently. Owner is very friendly. Pretty busy around 2pm on a Friday afternoon. I was admiring their fun and extensive sandwich menu, particularly the Glorious Bastard. However, my eyes (and wallet) were especially drawn to the Breakfast Sandwich. At $6.50, it's a steal and a darn good sandwich. The bread was delicious and it was a great complement to the egg, sauce, and cheese. Will be back just for this. They have books inside, some cute artwork, and a few tables. Lots of grab-and-go-options.

I get a sandwich here *every* time I visit my ophthalmologist across the street at the Eye Institute - it's a treat to look forward to. Sandwiches are inventive, delicious, big. I always have enough left over for dinner, but I get an extra sandwich to bring home to my partner anyway so I don't have to share. (Well, also so I can sample two different sandwiches.) You can concoct your own sandwich or sub but why bother? Shadi's creations beat mine. I just got their "Glorious Bastard". The main guy there -Shadi -is *super* nice and helpful too! Oh, and they have an unusual brand of potato chips that's killer: Zapp's. They're only open for lunch. Street, metered parking is usually easy.

It seems like there's also an upstairs but did not get the chance to check it out. I got an iced latte with their almond macadamia milk, and they're also so nice to do complimentary cold brew! So we got an extra drink for free. Trying the iced latte, it was pretty disappointing lol. I thought it would be similar to like a Hawaiian style latte with macadamia milk, but it was a lot lighter than I thought. It was definitely very nutty, but it also just tasted like water down latte. Honestly not much going on with the drink, but it does taste lighter in general. Crazy have to pay $1.50 more to add on this milk. Overall, its alright. I do like the natural lighting coming into the shop, but nothing too special.

But Katsu is really becoming the new hype of the day for Japanese food, following the Sushi, Ramen, Japanese Curry, Katsu trend. So I came in with a critical view. I feel like Yoshoku in general may be next but I yet again digress. The box sandwich came in a cute little box. The inside was packed so I couldn't get a chance to fully appreciate the cafe, but the service was nice though the pay line may have moved slower than hoped. I'll say this. This is "the" best katsu sando in the bay. The katsu is crispy, but little on the softer side. But this hardness matches perfectly with the absolutely tender, soft, juicy pork wrapped inside. I'm looking at the menu again and it all makes sense. The pork has been in shio koji, making the meat ever so tender while adding the subtle but complicated marinated flavor. The cabbage is plenty, but not over packed to take away from the main Katsu flavor. What really perfects it for me, was not only the sweet and savory katsu sauce, but the mayo with dash of I think a karashi mustard. That slight tingle, the perfect kick gives a powerful awakening of flavor that really sets the it apart. This is art, an artisan. Culinary art is the refuge no raging rampant AI slop "art" can ever hope to touch. Until the day we get some cyborg implant to our brain into gustatory, olfactory functions. Even then, I don't think any tasteless tech bro are hopeless to create anything unique or beautiful.
