Can I give 0 stars? This company is so ridiculously unprofessional. Over a month ago I had a technician come and replace the gas from a broken cooktop. During the repair he either damaged or failed to remove all broken glass from one of the burners (left a piece of metal/screw in one of the burners - resulting that burner shorting out. I scheduled the technician to come back out - and they didn't properly book the appointment. Then they sent him out (a week after repair) and he never reported back to them - ends up he was released or they stopped using him for work. So they sent out a 'Master Technician'. He said he'd have to order a part and come back out and make the repair and see details of what the issue is when he has the part. That was a week or more after last technician had been to house. Well... after many weeks of waiting and numerous calls - all with a promised return call to get the service completed... nothing. Weeks of calls with no promised returned calls (in 30 minutes, by end of day, by Monday, etc...) They are full of shit! I have asked to talk to the owners, but nothing yet. Initially, I had created a glowing review of Same Day because I felt, at the time, that their availability and response was stellar. The fact that Cassie was extremely attentive and professional and Rudy coming out the same day and address issues with my fridge was awesome. Unfortunately the experience turned sour as the fix did not resolve my issue and I needed someone to come back out. Since Rudy did not change any parts, just provided "service", he let me know that if problem persists within 2 weeks, that would be the only time I would be able to have them come back out for a warrantied event. Within a week, I ended up calling same day back out for services. Suffice it to say, I was given the run around the whole day. The guy did not come during the scheduled time and even afterwards. He let me know that he needed to touch base with Rudy to see what he did and that he would come out after that. My better judgment understood these folks were not really about fixing issues more so than taking money and not holding on to their end of the bargain, so I reached out to another company and my problem is fixed. I could see if I was trying to jipp these guys and not pay, they had a trip charge and I was billed for some additional service...I paid. All I wanted to do is get my fridge fixed. I was transparent in the work already done, and I'm glad I was. I am sure they would have tried to tell me I would have needed a boat load of parts. The name of this company is "same day appliance service" - which was far from what we received. We woke up early for work and found that our dishwasher didn't work. My wife calls me at work and I quickly called this so-called same day appliance service company. They said they would be able to schedule a repair person to come by that same day (between 2p - 4p). I received a call during the time window that someone was supposed be at our house letting us know that this same day service company would not be able to make it - so I rescheduled for the next morning. Here we are on the next day (not "same day"), I receive a call from the technician 20 mins before his arrival window was due. The guys says he would be at our house in 45-60 mins. It was 2 hours later that I received a call that he was finally on the way. The guy gets to my neighborhood, has no idea so my gate people wouldn't let him in. The guy leaves and the company calls me asking to reschedule or cancel. I asked the guy to call his technician back and ask if he would return while I go ask my gate people to allow him in the neighborhood. He calls his guy and then calls me back and says it is not possible, I cancelled the request. The water in my dishwasher is starting to smell really bad (even after pouring bleach in it the day before). So not only did we not receive same day service, we didn't receive service at all... I've been using Same Day Appliance for repairs at my rental home for several years. Always excellent prompt service. But this time, they've outdone themselves. I called for my home - after being told my refrigerator could not be repaired. I called at 10am and John Williams was at our door before 11am! Same Day is usually fast .... but this was, no doubt, a record. John looked at our problem - diagnosed the issue as a small "flapper" in the door used to direct ice/water flow and ordered the part on the spot. He returned the next day, exactly as scheduled and repaired our "unfixable" refrigerator for $179. To add icing to the cake, John gave my wife incredibly useful suggestions on how to clean our cooktop and our oven vent. Absolutely above & beyond ... my wife is still raving about how wonderful John is. I've seen a few negative reviews posted... but from my experience, I've never had an issue with scheduling, service or follow-through. read more

Don't trust "Same Day Appliance Repairs of Houston" I won't change my review unless I get my money back. My Dryer didn't have any power. On 1/22/2021 I called "Same Day Appliance Repairs pf Houston". For a service fee of $59.95 to do an evaluation. They send a technician named ALEX. According to his evaluation, the timer was bad. The total (part and labor) $306.46. I decided not to do it since it looks very expensive. I called "Top Appliances Repair. They came and inspect everything on the dryer and find out the knob (part WE1M654) was broken. The knob cost approx. $20. The timer was NOT the problem. The technician changed the knob to a different position and my dryer started working. So-called "Same Day Appliance Repairs of Houston" and asked to refund the service fee of $59.95. The lady who attended my call told me most likely I'm not getting my money back because the fee is for the technician to come to my house. However, On 1/22/2021 I agreed to pay the service fee for a technician because I trust that he will do the right evaluation. The result of Alex's evaluation was TOTALLY wrong. We came home from a trip to find our refrigerator not working and all the food spoiled. At 8 am the next morning, we called Same Day Appliance Repair and Sam was here by noon. He immediately diagnosed the problem (our condenser "start-kit" was broken) and swiftly set about repairing it. He was hardworking, friendly and got our fridge back up and running within 45 minutes. The charge was $330 ($297 of this was for the broken part.) which, although not cheap, cost less than replacing the compressor or buying a new fridge. We certainly appreciated his honesty about what had broken. We were very pleased with Sam's professionalism and quick response. Don't use this company. They're just trying to take your money. They charge you $60 trip charge that they claim they'll put towards the service once you retain them. I choose to purchase my own parts and hire them for the labor when the parts arrived. As everyone knows, they up charge on parts. I just bought a used washer/dryer for my townhouse and the dryer stopped working. So I called Same Day Appliance Repair and they were very pleasant to work with. They were flexible in scheduling a time to come fix my dryer later in the evening because I have work and school everyday. I had someone named Jay come in to fix the repair and he quickly assessed what was wrong. He had to order a part and he came back within 4-5 days to perform the repair. We called Appliance Same Day Repair to help us repair our JennAir dishwasher. Lewis (technician) came to our home on Friday 6/25 and let us know that it was going to take three business days to get the part for our dishwasher. We paid $69.95 for the service charge and Lewis stated that the service charge would be applied to the repair for our dishwasher. We called the receptionist and stated that we wanted them to order the part and fix our dishwasher. Given three business days to get the part, we were expecting that our dishwasher would be fixed on Friday, 7/2. We called them on Thursday, 7/1 to see if the part came in and when the dishwasher was going to be fixed. We were informed that our tech, Lewis, was on vacation and will return on 7/8. The receptionist stated that we will get a call back before close of business on 7/2 with an update. At this point, we don't even know if the part was ordered. We received no calls on Friday, 7/2. We called again on Tuesday, 7/6 for an update and was told that we would get a call back by Thursday, 7/8 with an update. We called on Thursday, 7/8 and stated that this needs to be resolved now and they still had no update. At this point, we decided to cut our losses and found another appliance repair company to assist us. I wish I had known how unresponsive this company is! On Thursday 10/24 I contacted Same Day Appliance to schedule a repair on a Kenmore range / oven. I gave them the model number and also the error code which was being displayed. The gentleman who took my call told me they would call me back in ten minutes to schedule an appointment. Two hours later I called again, and a woman gave me the same story but adding the part will be ordered and they will call back to schedule an appointment. Today is five days later and I still haven't had a reply. I'll assume there hasn't been a call back due to the fact I had them do a dishwasher repair back in July where the primary problem was resolved but extra parts I had paid for were incomplete so never installed. The tech informed me he would be back the following day, but never returned. Besides not returning, I was not called and informed. Same Day was a pleasure to deal with in the past, but now not so much. It's really infuriating to cancel plans and other appointments to accommodate their schedule. We had them out to fix our dishwasher and the service man was very nice and fixed it, we paid $185. We ran the dishwasher again and it was still leaking, now even more. It even damaged our wood floor. We called them back out and they said they found the real problem, a hose that they needed to order. I called every two weeks to ask if it was in, this started in April...it is now October. Nothing. Now they won't even call us back. They have our money and we have a broken dishwasher and a damaged floor. By the way, the second time they came out, they pulled up a piece of the flooring to expose the raw wood. Our refrigerator stopped cooling so we called Same Day Appliance Repair Houston to come out and fix it ASAP since we have a toddler and an infant and cannot live without a refrigerator for long. They sent Felix out on 3/3/21 and he walked in to collect his $80 service call fee and did little to nothing else. He was here for maybe 10 minutes (that is probably being generous) and tested the voltage of the refrigerator and said it looked fine to him. No knocking noise so everything was okay according to him. Well the refrigerator was about 60 degrees plugged in and set in the 30s so that didn't seem fine to me. We called Sears out and within an hour of arrival they had replaced the compressor which was under warranty and we paid for the labor. The refrigerator has worked great ever since. I e-mailed and called Same Day Appliance with our receipt from Sears and requested a refund for the $80 fee since Felix did literally nothing for us and the issue seemed to be obvious to the experienced Sears repairman. After weeks of waiting to hear back they called and said no, there was nothing they could do for us. This is simply poor customer service and their unwillingness to make the situation right does not sit well with me. I do not want any other unsuspecting customer to call them and be taken advantage of like we were. Must be nice to run a business where you walk in and take $80 and leave! Everything about the experience of working with Same Day Appliance Repair Houston was terrific. I called them due to an issue with my ice maker in my relatively new (one year, six month old) refrigerator. They sent their tech, Felix, within hours of my initial call. The person who answered the phone was friendly and helpful. Felix came to my home and got to work showing me how my refrigerator worked, what I could try to do to get the ice maker working on my own and what options I had regarding purchasing a replacement. He worked with the heart of a teacher which I really appreciated. A week later, after trying Felix's suggestions to no avail, we purchased an ice maker and scheduled Felix to return in finish the job. He arrived quickly after Same Day called and said he was coming, which was in the first hour of the three hour window we agreed to. We had an issue with our stove. Called out same day appliance repair and Jay came out the same day. He was incredibly helpful and competent. We ended up continuing to have issues, even though it seemed to be fixed every time he left, and we called him back directly each time. He was prompt with answering and coming back out, even coming out Sunday the last time on 2 hour's notice. He fixed it right away and said his goal was to ensure the customer is always happy. If I could give zero stars, I would. Our oven stopped heating due to a bad main controller board. 9/12/20: Tech said it needed to be rebuilt since it was a Kenmore Elite and parts were no longer available. No problem. He took the part and we waited...and waited...and waited. We were given a 2-3 week estimate. 8 weeks later...still waiting. We called customer service no less than 4 or 5 times. Incompetent would be too kind. No tracking numbers. Same generic answer each time. "It's on the way...any day now." Did I mention no tracking numbers of any kind? Yeah, we asked repeatedly. At some point, we asked for proof that it had actually been sent. They could not produce ANY evidence. No emails, no packing slips, no tracking numbers, nothing. FINALLY, when the tech arrived the week after Thanksgiving (yes, we missed having turkey with no oven after a 10-week wait), the tech broke the control panel trying to install the refurbished part...that still didn't work. Quite convinced they forgot to ship it to get refurbished and tried to solder some wires themselves because we were so angry by that point. And then the tech breaks the panel when installing it. So now we have to order a brand new oven. Way to go Same Day Appliance Repair of Houston. They tried to say it was all Covid related...delays were due to Covid, blah, blah, blah... But the tech broke the oven. I saw him do it. The tech did not charge me for the install...wonder why? I even though I texted him that the oven was most definitely NOT working...I never heard from them again. What is due to covid and the supply chain backlog is that our new oven is on back-order and we have now been without an oven for 12 months thanks mostly to Same Day Appliance Repair Houston. I called and asked them to come out and they said it was a different issue and I would need a new part. After another $400, the fridge broke again two months later! When they came out, they said it would be about $300, but the fridge was older and would most likely break again. I said no thanks, I will buy a new fridge. Thing is, the fridge came with the house. 7/18/15: I gave them a call back (had company in town- needed it done fast). Sent a very nice young man who worked very hard, on several trips, to repair it. He was courteous and professional and even gave me his cell in case I had problems later on. It worked a little better. A few months later, a called another nearby company b/c while it was working; it wasn't cleaning. I was surprised to have called the same company and this gentleman checked everything and said it was fine. We chatted a bit about Houston water. He suggested running my hot water through the tap first and using the heavy duty setting. I did and then turned up the setting on my hot water heater. His patience with explaining how the system and the city water worked ended up, with a dishwasher that now works! (sorry this is so long- this company has really redeemed themselves in my eyes!) I really wanted to like this business- it is a great concept- same day repairs! The first time I called they told me they didn't work on Hotpoint. About a week later, I noticed Hotpoint was listed on their website, so I called back. They said they could come on Friday between 8-12 noon (this was not Friday). Our experience with this company was a nightmare. The problem with our dryer was misdiagnosed, it was repaired with a broken part and in the end, they could not fix the dryer. In total, we had a repairman come to home 4 times and were without a dryer for 2 weeks! We ended up and were forced to buy a new dryer. Complete nightmare! Do NOT hire them under any circumstances! I hired them to fix a fridge at a rental property. They required an up-front service fee, which I paid electronically through the link they sent. Then they sent out a repair guy to assess the situation. He came back the next day with the part and installed it. So far, nothing unusual. But when it came time to pay, they sent a link which requires the acknowledgment that I am satisfied with the work (no problem) and that the appliance is now "in perfect working order". I have no qualifications to make such an assessment and have no idea if it is "in perfect working order." They are obviously trying to void any legal protections a customer might have should problems arise after payment. I called and said I was happy to pay them but would not be signing any statement or waiver. The guy who answered took my credit card info and that was that. Or so I thought. Four days later they began harassing and threatening a guest staying at the house where the fridge is located. They have called and texted him, claiming that I have refused to pay and threatening to come into the house to seize the appliance if he doesn't pay. In email exchanges with me, they refuse to accept payment but also threaten me with legal action if I don't pay. They insist they will not accept payment without the written waiver. They are nasty and aggressive, calling, emailing and texting repeatedly all day, misrepresenting their legal authority and attempting to intimidate my guest into giving them money. Though I have been in communication with them by phone and email and I have given them my credit card, they keep texting my guest to say that I have never responded to them. These people are dishonest and engaged in deceptive trade practices. None of this craziness was necessary at all. I never challenged the price and was immediately willing to pay it. I happened to be a lawyer and in the habit of always reading the small print, so when I saw their attempt to sneak a waiver into the payment agreement, I simply offered to pay without the waiver. Although they did a minor fridge repair within a few days of calling them, they are very unprofessional and tried to force us to sign a document waiving any responsibility for their repair work. When we refused to sign but tried to pay, they would not accept payment and began calling and threatening our tenants. They also lied about our communications. Please be careful before you use them. I have had a terrible experience. The office people are nice, and I hate writing a negative review, but I feel like people need to know this before using their service. Our fridge stopped cooling in April. Same day came out on April 11th and charged me $300 to fix a relay capacitor. This kept the fridge cool for 9 days, and then they came back on 4/20, and unclogged it and also added Freon because they noticed Freon was low., charging me $200. At that time, they did not do a check to see why the Freon was low. So in April when they came out, the real problem was most likely there, but they didn't diagnose it, and instead did some minor fixes that would cause it to run a little while longer. I called back in late August because it had stopped cooling again, and was told they were busy with hurricane troubles which was understandable so i called back again on 9/16, and was told to call back on Monday, so I called again on 9/18, and again on 9/23, and again on 9/25, and we had their technician come out a couple of more times and he again added Freon like he did back in April. We had him come out again in October and at this time he said he couldn't get it to work and it was beyond repair. This is a 6 year old expensive refrigerator that I am now being told is beyond repair. At this time i asked for a refund, and provided the office with the charges because they could find what I had spent. I felt like since they advertise a 100% satisfaction guaranty as well as a 1 year warranty on their parts and labor that I should be refunded the $500 I spent without having my fridge repaired. I sent them the charges on 10/25, and they said they would research. On 11/3, i followed up because i had not heard back, and was told that they were looking into replacing our fridge which led me to believe that they had made a mistake. I didn't hear anything back from them so I followed up on 11/27 to see what had been decided. On 11/29 their office replied for me to call them. I called on 12/1, the day after thanksgiving and was told they were not replacing my fridge, but that i could come buy a new fridge at a discount. On 12/6 i said i wanted a refund and did not want to buy a new fridge from them. On 12/7 they said that would not be possible, and they would not provide a refund. I asked to speak with the person who made that decision, and they told me that was not possible because the owner was so busy. I continued to push because I felt that any good business would want to hear a client concern, and finally I received a call on 12/19. The office told me a supervisor would call, but the person who called said he was one of the owners so I'm not sure who actually called me. I was surprised by how defensive and rude they were on the phone. I was also shocked that he was trying to sell me the fridge. He told me he didn't have to even call me and didn't have to even offer me a discount, but he was doing this to be helpful. Another company is actually coming tomorrow to fix the problem. They indeed came in on the same day for the initial checkout, which was really good. But they charged about $600 on labor only for replacing the compressor of the French door LG refrigerator. I left a positive review at first but things have changed dramatically. Same day repair is a joke! Worst appliance repair experience I have ever had and my refrigerator is still not fixed over a week after my first review. The evaporator fan on my fridge stopped working on 5/7. The tech came the next day and replaced the fan which seemed to be working normally. The next day, I noticed the unit still was not cooling. So I called again and the tech came out only to find the fan not working because he said "it was not getting power." So he thought it was the control board. I suggested the fan might have been bad. Well, by that time the appliance part store was closed and he wouldn't be able to get the part until Monday. Monday came and went with some excused and I was promised my fridge would be fixed Tuesday. Tuesday came and went with the excuse that the fan wasn't available and would have to be ordered and it wouldn't be until Friday until my fridge was fixed. Well, guess what, Friday came and went with another excuse and I was promised my fridge would be repaired Saturday. Now, it is Saturday May 16th and the excuse today is that the tech's car is in the shop and my fridge won't be fixed until Monday! I have had to initiate all the contacts. No one has ever called me with an update. Nothing. Is there not another tech that could come fix it I asked? Guess what the answer was. Is there not another appliance part store in the city of Houston where the part could have been obtained without having to order it? Lesson learned. Just got off the phone with these guys. Ridiculous. They came out to see my stove and the guy literally walked in, looked at it, took the serial number and said he'll have to order parts. Didn't even open it up or anything. He scoffed at me when I asked if he needed to open it up to take a look. "I think I know what I'm talking about" ~cocky repair guy. He was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Keep in mind they charge you 60 bucks just for that part. Comes back 2 days later saying it'll cost 700 dollars to replace 5 parts, so i opened it up myself to see. I took the model number of the part and I could get them for 60 bucks each on amazon. So even with a markup, 700 was a huge ripoff. I might as well buy a new stove. Here's the kicker: The guy texts asking for payment for his trip out to my house. Not one to argue, I'm like fine, just email me the invoice. He texts back saying he sent the invoice. Nothing in my email. The next day (keep in mind this just 5 days after the actual visit) I get a text from another number saying I have an outstanding balance, and if I don't pay it they'll take legal action and place a lien on my household! What kind of practice is this to threaten your customers within days of service, especially when I'm the one waiting on your invoice?!? I'm not the kind of person to really get worked up about this stuff, but I called to address this issue and of course there was no one around who could talk to me, just a phone receptionist that took my email down (again) and said she'd send the invoice. I still haven't seen it in my inbox. Why am I jumping through hoops to pay a ridiculous charge and getting threatened with legal action for their own incompetence? Overall, great service. The gentleman showed up exactly when he said he would and fixed our microwave in a matter of minutes. The labor is a bit pricey but saved us (hundreds) from buying a new one (which my husband originally wanted to do) so all in all, we are happy with the service. read more

Only because I had to give a star . Called and made an appointment , guy comes out sand day looks at fridge says it would be 150 for a part that I see online for 36.00 and 180 to install . Mind you this is for a flap on a French door of a fridge . I show him all the components and ask if other things need repair ? He says no quickly writes down somethings says he has s coupon he can give me making my new total 240.00 schedules to return Monday between 11-2 shoes up at 10:29 no one is home . I leave work he comes inside then says ooooooops I need another part . The sane Israel I told him he would need ,that he doesn't have and then says well mam to fix this your looking at 590 .00 .,. Um no thanks I'll buy a new fridge . Do he couldn't giv it bc he ordered the wrong parts still charged me 59.99 service fee! Rip off company , never again ! read more

I would leave 0 stars if possible. This is my first Yelp review ever I think? This company gets the distinction of being so egregious that I actually am taking the time to warn the masses not to use them. I called Same Day Appliance repair almost a month ago to repair a refrigerator that was not freezing or cooling properly. They came out the next day, and diagnosed a problem with the control panel as the issue for both the freezer not freezing and the fridge not cooling. The technician (who I should mention was nice and helpful, but obviously not super effective) had to return the next day to repair the control board and said he would be there around 11am. At 3pm we received a call that they were on the way. Repair was ~$300 The freezer appeared to be working OK (for a while) but the fridge never got any cooler. I called back and said "hey the fridge still isn't cold". They scheduled the same technician to come out, and the day he was supposed to come he called me and said "I already know what the problem is - it's the thermostat! I noticed it was broken when I was fixing the control panel" (why didn't he say anything at the time??) He came out the NEXT day and replaced the thermostat. Said the fridge would be cold in 24 hours. Surprise, it wasn't. I called them AGAIN and they said they would send someone out that day (a Saturday). Then they called me a few hours later and said they would have to send a different technician out for a "second opinion" and couldn't send anyone out until Monday. I declined. It had been nearly 3 weeks without a refrigerator at that point and I just wanted my money back. So i went and purchased a new refrigerator. Today, they called me and said they would not refund my money for the repairs that did not work, because they were going to send someone else out to "fix it." I explained that a) I was not confident in their ability to fix anything, and b) my new refrigerator is getting delivered tomorrow so the old one is getting taken away anyway - why waste my time and their time? They still insisted that they must send someone out to "fix" the refrigerator and that once the refrigerator was "fixed" it was my choice to throw it out tomorrow when the new refrigerator that I already purchased arrives. Terrible customer service, and shady business practices. Obviously the "one year warranty" and "100% satisfaction guarantee" advertised on their website did not apply in my case. read more

Called this company because my ice maker stopped working. A technician was sent out and I was told a part needed to be replaced. I was told it would take two to three days for the part to come in. I waited eight days then called them back to find out what happened with the part this is when they informed me that the part was on back order. 3 weeks later they called and said part was here i immediately asked since i waited so long could i have small discount was told they would find out and call me back three days later they called back to find out when they could come out and install part i told them for this kind of customer service i would pass never tell a customer something is going to be done in a certain time and a month later is still not done. read more

Our garage fridge was on the fritz. They came out and diagnosed the problem quickly. We weren't sure if we'd fix the problem: it's an old used fridge, and we thought about replacing the whole thing. But in the end, we had them fix it as well. A week later the fix is going strong. Not sure if they're the cheapest around, but we felt the convenience was worth what we paid. read more

My first expereicne with Same Day Applicance Repair was positive, but clearly their service standards have been lowered. I had someone come out to look at my refigerator/freezer and was told that the compressor was broken and someone would call to schedule the repair later that day. I have not heard from anyone and I have made multiple attempts to get an update by calling them myself, only to be told they can't get in touch with the technician and they will call me back. At this point I probably just need to cut my losses and look for someone else to help, it would just have been nice to be told that you can't or don't want to help so I am not without a refrigetor for days and could have made other arrangements. read more
