This is such a cute diner. Great American breakfast food and great service. Friendly, attentive. If you like mom and pops - this is for you! We asked for crispy bacon which is usually hard to get at most spots, they got it right the first time! Crepes were yummy!

Came to this restaurant looking to try a new breakfast spot out and this place did not disappoint. The service was friendly. It was a very clean and quiet place. The food came out quickly and it was hot and delicious. Will definitely return highly recommend this place such a nice place for breakfast.

Came in to try a different place. It's a cute 50's style dinner. Totally dig the car prints on the booth seats. We noticed a handful of regulars. Food was good and good selection. I got corned beef (from the can) I think it's the best lol extra crispy. We enjoyed it and probably come back.

Headed over to this café after a massage at Body Centre Spa (check out my review) Honestly, I didn't expect this spot to be so busy. They have an extensive menu, specials for the day were; Cheese Blintzes with 2 eggs sausage or bacon for $14.69 Breakfast Sando ham, eggs, avocado, cheese, on a grilled sourdough and potatoes $12.99 Chilaquiles Rancheros $16.99 See what I mean?! Anywho, we opted for Sammy's weekly special; choose one , strawberry pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, half banana French toast, half strawberry waffle which came with 3 eggs, e bacon, 3 sausage links and hash browns or country potatoes for $15.99. My partner wanted regular pancakes and I added sourdough bread. That was more than enough for both of us! If we were ever back in the area, I would definitely give them a visit!

Had a really good breakfast this morning. My favorite here is the Cinnamon Roll French Toast Combo. My over medium eggs were perfectly cooked. The cinnamon roll French was also really good and a beautiful golden brown. It took a while to get my first coffee refill but after that, my cup was kept full. I would definitely return next time I'm in the Upland area. I have eaten several times at the Calimesa location but the food at this location is much better and more consistent.

Extremely friendly staff every time I go, which really stands out. Food is tasty and on the cheap. I had the steak and eggs the other morning, and the steak was cooked perfectly and was of a better quality than what I was expecting. All around good place for breakfast. Might have to go by there for dinner or lunch one day. read more

My boyfriend and I went here because they had good reviews. It was definitely nothing special, it reminded me of a wannabe Dennys. He got the steak dinner and was definitely not impressed, I got a salad and it was just okay. Won't be back. read more

Unusual location & decor for a down-home restaurant, but their food is great, fresh & homemade. They list their specials of the day on a dry-erase board outside the entrance so you can peruse their daily offerings before you venture in. On Route 66 (Foothill Blvd.), it's definitely worth a try. read more

Stopped in here after the air show from Cable Airport. Glad we chose this place. Service was the best we've had in a long time! My drink was never empty our food didn't take long at all and was delicious. The fried chicken was excellent. Seasoned really well and crispy! My son wants to come back tomorrow for breakfast. Recently moved to Upland and am so so so glad to have discovered this little gem! 50's style but modern dinner (if that makes sense?). Anyway, it's a must to check out! The food was delicious but the "cherry on top" had to be the incredibly friendly staff. So personable and inviting. Can't wait to go back! read more

I only give Sammy's Cafe 2 stars - I would not recommend. It needs a stronger flavor pallet and I don't just mean more salt. Everything was cooked well but very blah in taste. It is an okay alternative if you are hungry and will not wait for the neighborhood favorite, Brandon's just down the street. I would like this place to improve. If it does not, I don't think it will make it a year. It has been open only two months and I hope they are listening. I won't return until I hear from a local friend recommending them. read more

Been going to this restaurant regularly since they opened. Service is always great! Food is good but can be better. Price is average although they raise there specials. After raising there price, it seems the quality of the food went down and the portions looks smaller. Service is still good though....We'll probably not come back for a while. read more

Great location for breakfast. However stay away from Three Amigos plate... Not good. Club sandwich, breakfast plates are a must when you go here. Small diner near a gas station and Vons shopping center. We like sitting outside with family and enjoying the weather. read more

This is my go to breakfast restaurant when I don't feel like making pancakes or pulling out the waffle maker. It is by far better than the major breakfast chains in the area. And anywhere you can get Chile relleno as a side with your breakfast, is a winning food spot to me. read more

Went in for breakfast after hearing about Sammy's from acquaintances repeatedly, breakfast being my favorite meal I think I built it up too much in my head, because it was underwhelming. I should have went with my instinct when I first walked in because the Mexican food smelled delicious, but I went with the ham and eggs with the home-fries, and biscuits and gravy; Ham was really dry and it was a small piece, and the gravy just was not good, as far as the home-fries go, I'll stick to "Kick Back Jack's" for those. But I do want to go back for the Mexican Food, like I said, it seriously smelled great. Reasonable prices, but it needs better decor, I thought it was kinda dull in there. read more

This place is a little hidden gem in Upland. My family and I started coming here when they first opened. The staff is super friendly and the service is great. Nicky and Martin are our favorites employees. The food is delicious and at a very reasonable price. Their menu is extensive and I haven't ordered anything I didn't like. We love ordering breakfast for dinner. Try the breakfast burrito. It's fantastic. We are delighted to see how well they are doing. read more

My wife and I come here every Friday morning for breakfast and have been doing so for over a year. We love the food and the staff. I occasionally come here for lunch during the week and dinners on Saturday. I've never had bad service or bad food. I've recommended it to others who have also enjoyed the food and have returned. read more

Took awhile to find, as it's hidden beside a large hamburger restaurant. My wife had a luncheon meeting there with friends earlier which she missed, so we decided to go later in day. Nothing spectacular upon finding the place, but thought what the heck, we're here, might as well try it. Place was not busy, but thought that's because lunch time long gone. Greeted by friendly folks, and as we sat down, immediately offered drinks as we were handed the ample menu offerings. Took awhile to decide, but once we decided, placed our order. Am not a big fan of Mexican food, but decided on a chili relleno and a taco. Usually a safe bet when one does not know how good or bad a place might be. My wife chose an omelette. By the time we placed our order a basket full of fresh chips accompanied with salsa appeared, which was delicious. When our meal was presented, was pleasantly surprised how appetizing it all looked looked. Well looks can be deceiving. First bite of the chili relleno sent shivers of delight through me. Wow, now that's what a CR is all about. Next a bite of Taco, I chose the beef against the other choice of chicken, WOW!, another wave of deliciousness flooded over me. Best taco I ever tasted. That's saying a lot, as being a resident of So Cal one has an opportunity to taste and eat many tacos. Suffice it to say we will definitely be back, as this is certainly the place to go when seeking Mexican food. Who knows, but I may even become a fan of such. Oh, by the way, my wife enjoyed her omelette almost as much as I enjoyed my meal. read more

This was my second time here and I was not disappointed. Martin our server was very nice and took excellent care of my daughter and I. We had an order togo and my other daughter joined a bit later. The food was awesome and quick and priced very well. I will definitely come back...I've been disappointed with another "diner" close by and refuse to go there so this is my new spot from now on. I have lived In Upland for about two years and we go to eat alot. This is the first time that I found Sammy's café because it was a little bit hidden. However, this is the best place that I found in a long time. Most of the time you either get good service and bad food or bad food and good service, at Sammy's café we got great food and great service, this place is a hidden gem and we will definitely be coming back here. Everything we had was great, I had the ribs and they we tender and you get a lot, even the dinner salad was good and fresh, not one piece of wilted lettuce :-) the staff was friendly and efficient, even the bus boy was awesome and helpful. Right after we were sat a party of 20+ came in and it did not effect our service at all. this is going to be our new favorite hotspot. Can't wait to try breakfast! Good job!!!!! read more

I've been in here a few times since this place opened and I like it. I've only ever been for breakfast, so that's all I can comment on, but their food is pretty good. I usually go to Brandon's for breakfast, but the wait is sometimes way too long and I'm usually too hungry by noon to have to wait longer than 20 minutes. I love the service here and I also love the nice outdoor seating area. I highly recommend this place for cheap, yummy breakfast. read more

That said, the grease did feel like it took away from the flavors, making the burger tasting milder than I had wanted. That said, it was very enjoyable overall. The dog menu was surprisingly different from what I've seen. It was surprisingly healthy looking with the amount of vegetables they added to my dog's bowl including some Brussels sprouts. There was no rice at all, which was fine for me since my dog doesn't really like rice. Unfortunately, he is so picky, so he picked out the chicken from the vegetables even with me pre-mixing it, and I think the vegetables are too firm to his liking. However, I appreciate the food being healthy and the portions, even if he himself will not really eat most of it. I'm sure some other dog will do a lot better with the bowl!

Over one hundred guests attended the party. The entire event and experience were fun and memorable. The bar area and the outdoor patio were vast, clean, and well-maintained. The outdoor area offered guests cabana-like seating with very comfortable padded chairs, as well as bar-like tables. Employees were very hard-working, friendly, and super nice. The food, which consisted of salad, lasagna, and pizza, was EXCELLENT!! And full of flavor. The adult beverages were well-made and easily available from the waiters and waitresses. This was a GREAT event.

Opted for the 3x3x3 with chocolate chip pancakes to go, and the pork chop breakfast plate. The pancakes were a delightful treat, packed with gooey chocolate chips. Came here during dinner hours and found that they serve breakfast ALL DAY. An omelette, a side of toast, and some hash is really the filling meal I need right after work. The price isn't so bad either for the quality of the food. I would definitely recommend this place for its breakfast at all times, though the decore is a bit outdated. read more
