Make sure you check your items before leaving if you're getting it to-go especially if it's a big order. Ordered a roll and 5 teriyaki bowls to go and when I opened up the bag I was missing 1 teriyaki bowl. The total was close to $100. Already had sent the runner back because there was still one person not eating. Every other Japanese place we called has a 30 min wait or needs a reservation except this one...the day before July 4th. The waitress was nice until we complained about our meal. I ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl and it was honestly barely mediocre. A little bit of rice with a bit of dry crusty chicken with a dibble of sauce for $10.50... what a rip off! One of worst bowls I've ever had. Another person in our party ordered a baked lobster roll. After my poor friend waiting and watching everyone eat for 20 min we finally asked and found out they "accidentally" forgot to make it. Funny thing is the chefs were laughing and joking in the sushi kitchen right next to our table the whole time while we waited for our order. All the servers were either on their phones in the kitchen (btw that's disgusting. I hope they wash their grubby hands) or staring out the door wanting to go home. Every place I worked for said: If you have time to lean, you have time to clean. We cancelled the order and they took the bowl and roll off the check. Thankful for that. But we won't be back. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING! The only thing worse than the food was the service! Party of 6 for my daughter's 11th birthday. Place was grimy and hot inside. Tables not wiped clean and chips in the plates and ramekins we were given. Staff stared at us with vacant expressions the whole time. Sushi was probably the worst we have ever had and menu we were given did not really seem to match the one on their website. Lukewarm sushi rolls that were supposed to be cold and hot food that seemed to be microwaved as it had a rubbery texture. Everything was over salted and soup even seemed like it was just reheated. I let the young girl know it was my daughter's birthday and she nodded and walked away- nothing more said. I have never been to a sushi restaurant that didn't give at least a little fanfare and fun for someone's birthday - didn't want a free dessert, just a little fun shout out- but absolutely nothing- not even a smile from any of the 5 employees gathered behind the counter. Went for Lunch over a week ago. Ordered the 3 choice Lunch special for 19.00. Ordered the Teriyaki Salmon, medium cooked, Tempura Vegetables, and Spicy Tuna rolls. Also added a Salmon hand roll for Eight dollars. The meal comes with Miso soup, a small salad and a Small bowl of white rice. I love coming here for the sushi but my recent experience was bad. I ordered the dinner special to go and they forgot got to give me my meat item. We then speak to another server, and they say they will put us on the list but it will be a 30 min wait. Also confused. I have been going to Sams for years and years and I love it BUT my grandmother and son had a visit and my grandmother was 1st told that they could not delete the item that they accidentally charged her for BUT THEN, they added their own tip! This is STEALING. They assumed she was old and wouldn't notice but she checks her account everyday. I have been here numerous times in the past and was pleased with everything for the most part. This visit taught me that there has been change mostly in pricing. Nearly all of their sushi rolls are priced around the $20 mark. Maybe Sam's customer base is much higher than I anticipated because I can't see how they can sustain prices this high. I can easy see their prices justly being around $15 per sushi roll but a $20 mark is, in my humble opinion, too high for what they offer. read more

Good sushi but just ok service. We come to this place often when are in the mood for sushi and are on the go. The sushi here is good and reasonably priced for the portions. I've never been disappointed here by the food. The menu has changed a bit recently so it worth a stop if you haven't been here in a while. The Ahi Nachos are great, they rival the Yard House's. Yellowtail Serrano Hamachi Carpaccio was great as well. There's an overwhelming amount of rolls on the menu. We chose the Tiger Roll and were not disappointed. I thought it was odd that we were asked if we wanted Wasabi & Ginger and got it in the side. Every time we come here the service is average. When we go out we are willing to pay for the experience. Here that's never been the case. Staff is polite enough but nothing more. I would recommend eating at the bar instead. The decor is neither upscale nor trendy but it is clean and quiet. The rice in the sushi lacks seasoning. One of the most essential parts of sushi is missing. Because of this, most of the rolls on the menu are very similar variations of the same thing, with 'X' on the inside and 'Y' on the outside. While many other sushi spots do this and get away with it, Sam's cannot as the rolls lack any flavor besides the sauces. Besides this the service was solid. Our waitress wasn't the most charismatic but she was attentive solidly helpful. The food also came out pretty fast for our party of 5. That's a + Would otherwise be a solid spot if the food tasted like anything. Also, it is SOOOO expensive for what you are paying for. $15 for a California roll with some fish on top? I usually get the avocado roll with soy paper and veggie tempura. Tons of vegan/vegetarian options. Also have beef and chicken. Popcorn shrimp is bomb! Tons of parking, very friendly staff.
