The first time was great..beautiful view, food was awesome. Second time with the same meal choices, not so much. 2 meals (an adult and kid meal, app, and a drink) costed me $80 for LUNCH! $26 for a salad and a half breast of chicken. The lettuce was wet, soggy and peaches were warm instead of grilled. The app was Mac and cheese with Buffalo chicken. The noodles were over cooked, not as cheesy as when first made, and the chicken was rubbery like they reheated in the microwave. The server asked how everything was and I was honest. I told her I could have made a whole salad in bulk with the amount of money they charged. She acknowledged my disappointment and brought the manager over without me asking. I repeated myself again and the manager asked me if she could bring me something else. I didn't want to sit there and wait even longer with a kid and be the "Karen" at the table...So I opted for an additional salad figuring I'd take it to work the next day and give it another shot. I opened the salad the next day, no chicken and the same teeny wheeny wet salad. You definitely don't get what you pay for here. Disappointingly inconsistent. read more

WOW! A gem in Webster on the lake. My wife and I visited for dinner with friends. Sat outside on a beautiful summer night. We had the bisque and steaks which were perfect. Great cocktail and wine selection. Dessert wasn't too shabby either. As it got cooler later in the evening they brought out heaters. Great atmosphere food and cocktails. This used to be my favorite restaurant in Webster. However, this season they decided to change the menu drastically. It is essentially only a barbecue restaurant, as there are only a few other items on the menu that are not barbecue themed. Despite the limited menu now, I went yesterday with several family members to give it a try. We made a reservation prior to arriving, however once we arrived the staff had great difficulty trying to figure out where to seat us. No joke, at one point there was seven young staff members crowded around the computer, whispering among themselves, and trying to figure out where to put us. By the time they walked us back to be seated, there were at least six other empty tables, so unclear about what the difficulty was. The service was hit or miss, we were asked how we were doing three times before we even got our ordered beverages or food. After our food arrived, the service seemed to drop off and could not get the attention of a wait staff member. The BBQ was mediocre at best. It's very disappointing that they changed the whole menu and it isn't even remotely great BBQ. Lastly, last fall they ran a gift card promotion, so now I have several gift cards to a place where I will never return again. What a waste. Thanks for the bait and switch Sam Slaters!! read more

Have been twice in the last month. The first time I had the seafood risotto & it was delicious! Last night I had the Bolognese & it was also delicious! The side dish brussel sprouts with bacon & onions is also so so good! We had Nicole for a waitress & she was very attentive & knowledgeable. Highly recommend this restaurant! read more

I looked up the menu online prior to making our reservation & then found out it was inaccurate once we sat down. We tried calling a couple of times to make a reservation & got a voicemail saying they were closed for the winter. The staff was attentive. The menu is mixed. They now offer a whole BBQ option, which is nice, but we miss their old menu. If we wanted BBQ, we wouldn't have chosen Slaters for dinner. I was looking forward to some salmon & my boyfriend some steak. Anyway, what we did have off of the BBQ menu was excellent. Unfortunately our order was mixed up & we got our entrees before our chili & salad. But all in all the food was great, things just got a little jumbled. In the future if we are looking to eat BBQ, we will consider going here as the view is nice and the open dining area is a nice touch as well. read more

What a difference the second visit is....writing this review while sitting in the dining room. Last time we were told no reservations needed, so we arrive, asked by hostess if we had reservations, answered no..hostess states "let's see if we can squeeze you in somewhere." Then proceed to get another woman involved, and again the words squeeze them in was used. We are happy to use reservations if needed. We are sat at a table with a balled up dirty table clothe was on my seat and a dirty napkin still sits next to my feet. I ordered iced tea, to find out they are all out. Then I try to order a steak add on to another dish and are told basically No, the chef is particular and doesn't want us to change things....why cant I add something on for an added fee? The customer service is lacking big time. Not looking to forward to the food now. Sad the first visit was so good. Another thing....I don't appreciate a manager offering special chef menus to the people seated next to us, but never to us. Last time spent $200 with tip...not going to this time. read more

Checked out their Sunday brunch--lots of desserts to choose from if you like that!! I think that the buffet should be expanded to offer other items, such as cheeses, smoked meats, hors d'oeuvres, etc. Ordered an omelette which was good. Wife ordered the eggs Benedict, which was also good. Great atmosphere and service. A bit expensive and overpriced for what we got. read more

We went on a Monday night for the weekly prime rib special. We were very happy with the whole experience on our first visit. Salads are made to order in the open kitchen environment. Both prime ribs were served as we ordered and our waitress was attentive during our stay. The whole experience was excellent and we will definitely be returning. read more

First time dining here. Had great service. The man candy appetizer was delicious: chive stuffed date wrapped in bacon with caramelized onions. Had prime rib and seafood risotto. We did make reservations through Open Table app. Easy peasy. We look forward to returning and trying additional items on the menu. Was really nice. We celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed at all. Everyone was friendly. The atmosphere was very nice. Came with my nieces on a Friday night. Refused window seat tables that were never used. I thought maybe they were being saved for the 7 pm reservations but nope... never used. My dinner brisket (sand which) had been clearly microwaved as there were hot and cold pockets. The chips were just not good. My nieces enjoyed the Mac and cheese... large servings. Samuel Slater's has only been "officially" open since December 2018. The atmosphere is really nice. They did a great job on the decor. It's right on Indian Ranch which could be good, or not. We've been twice for dinner and it is really improving. Once they work out the kinks, that any new resteraunt goes through, this will be a great place. The bartenders are awesome and work hard to make sure customers are happy. You can dress up a bit or just go in jeans (dressy casual). It's great to have a nice place to go for dinner without having to go to too far. read more

My family took my dad out for dinner and the Elvis show last night. This is my first time there and i can say i will absolutely be back. The food was amazing and the show was an awesome desert. I can't say enough about our waitress, she was so attentive. I forgeot he name but i do know she lives in Grafton. The rib eye was amazing, steak tips as well. Dad has been talking about the Southern fried chicken all day and just ate his left overs. On that note we all had leftovers to bring home so i think the serving size is great. Went here Saturday night and the food was incredible! Service was great and atmosphere was very nice. I had the seafood risotto which was amazing! My kids had the Olive oil poached longline Ahi tuna with wasabi potatoes another great dish! I can't say enough about how good this meal was! By far the best restaurant in the area! Finally had an opportunity to check this place out. I love the entryway, it's very pretty and inviting. We had an amazing waiter, his name was Ben. The service could not have been any better. I had the salmon it was perfectly cooked with grilled vegetables. There were three steaks at the table, one was definitely overcooked but everything else was very good. For dessert we all tried the crème brûlée, the Cheese cake and the lemon cake. They all were delicious. All in all, near perfect experience. Looking forward to going back in the warmer weather to be able to sit outside. I would highly recommend giving them a try! read more

We just came back from one of the best meals we have had in years! Samuel Slater's is the best. The staff were great! We started with Island Creek Oysters, with the best horseradish and cocktail sauce. The scotch eggs were amazing. Nothing like O'Connors. Just delicious. There is an appetizer called "Meat Candy" another amazing dish. Just order it. For dinner we got 2 specials. A filet mignon with lobster tail over mashed potatoes. To die for! And a seafood Mediterranean dish with scallops and cod served over spinach, tomatoes and feta cheese. Wonderful! We will definitely be back. Thanks so much! read more

Celebrated my 37th wedding anniversary with my wife this evening with dinner at Samuel Slater's. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the presentation, freshly baked bread and the attentive, pleasant and smiling server, Samantha, were outstanding in every way. I thought the prices for a Jack's Abbey 16 oz. Pilsner ($5) and generous glass of Reisling ($8) were very reasonable. We'll be back for sure. read more

This restaurant makes you forget you're in Webster and has a much more sophisticated feel. Inside is beautiful, as is the deck over the lake.The food is always exceptional! I love the brunch (omelets are to die for), I love the dinners! The corn chowder and steak over risotto are favorites of mine but I've never had a bad meal. The specials and desserts never disappoint! It's not cheap, but it's worth it! We always sit at the bar and are always hopeful we'll find Ashley working! She is friendly, knowledgeable about both food and liquor, and always mixes the perfect cocktail (I love her negroni). She truly completes the experience! read more

This was my second visit and timed to take advantage of Prime Rib special. This visit did not disappoint !! Our server Maria was fantastic. Attentive. Accommodating. I ordered 6 oysters and the prime rib special- which comes w a house salad and potato. The honey vinaigrette dressing was delish. The bread and freshly made garlic dipping sauce was scrumptious - hard to stop at one piece of bread. For my meal I had Seafood Rissotto with large pieces of lobster, huge sea scallops, shrimp and clams. My husband had the 16oz. NY Strip Steak and he was very pleased also. My husband and I went for dinner. The parking was terrible the spots are so tight it was very difficult to get out of our spot. Ordered a classic burger , it was not cooked as requested and it was so salty that it was not edible. When we told the waitress she did apologize and offer to get us another however we did not have time to wait. So paid 14$ for a burger I only took 3 bites of. NO offer to remove from the bill I had a chicken caprese sandwich. It was also dry. The meals came with fries and waitress did not mention there was an up charge of 2$ for the garlic fries each. The atmosphere here is nice The staff is friendly might be nice for drinks and appetizers but I won't go back. read more

We went there for dinner last night for take out on our boat. There were 6 of us. 1 person ordered the smoked chicken caprese sandwich which came with no mozzarella and no chipotle aioli. When we called about it they said they ran out of the mozzarella. They even called back to verify our order and still did not mention that. We all got pulled meals, they were so dry you could not eat them. So disappointing that not 1 person was happy with there meal. read more

Last night we (two couples) were looking forward to trying a new place. We had reservations, but didn't really need them. It was pretty but didn't have table clothes on the tables like the pictures. It was very noisy! We had to yell to hear each other. We waited an hour for our food! Prices are a bit high for the portions and for what you get. Hamburger was ordered medium but came out well done and dry as a bone. Steak tips came out tough with no steak knife. French fries were cold, Steamers were well done tough and dry and smelled fishy. Salmon looked well done, server never asked how she wanted it. They didn't charge for the hamburger and took 1/2 off for the steak. The manager gave us 1 $20. gift card which we'll never use. This was our second time eating at Samuel Slater's for dinner. Our server Kayla was very attentive and sweet. She even had the bartender make us a custom cocktail to match a flavored vodka they didn't have. After dinner we enjoyed a couple more at the bar while watching the staff across the way prepare desserts and salads. They were quite entertaining and made for a fun night.
