Mediterranean and middle eastern food are my husband's and my comfort foods, so this was the perfect spot for us to come on a Tuesday afternoon, after running around Dallas all day trying to settle in from a cross country move. The food is excellent and the staff was very helpful/friendly. It doubles as a hookah bar, so if you're sensitive to smoke, you might notice the smell even in the main dining room. But it didn't bother me. My husband is currently doing the keto thing, and he was very happy to find food he could eat :) the kebabs! Meanwhile, I am ALL ABOUT pita and dips! Came here for the lunch buffet and have to say it didn't disappoint! There's a bunch of options with plenty of dishes that are vegetarian. They also offer desserts but I didn't get to try any of them because I was unfortunately too full. The owner is very friendly and service is good. 3 stars for the buffet. 5 stars still for the gyros to go. Im not going to spend too long on each item, but I will say I did arrive at 1:30pm on a Thursday. Perhaps some things would have been better the moment I arrived at 11AM, but even when two items were brought out fresh, they still were comparable to when they have been left out for a while. The hummus was weak. All I felt was the oiliness of the tahini. The falafel had good flavor but was a bit dry The baba gnoush was much better in flavor compared to the hummus The chicken kabob was straight up dry The chicken curry was somewhat dry. The rotisserie chicken had a dry center but most edge Chicken shawarma wrap is when chicken was the most moist, but even then they were not juicy. In short, they dont do a great job with chicken products. Beef kofta tastes like they char it on the grill! Make sure to grab some. The gyro slices are like thick triangle wedges. Way better than shavings. They were also tender and juicy with plenty of flavor. I liked the lentil rice as well as the fried pita chips. I don't normally see these items. Service was a one man show. He was doing his best answering the phone, taking payments, cleaning the tables, and communicating with the back staff. My only complaint is he was spraying this incredibly strong surface cleaner right next to where I was eating. My nostrils were flooded with the smell of cleaning chemicals and had a wait quite some time before I could enjoy my food. Compared to Ali Baba or even Dimassi, the buffet here is quite inferior. Pros: I made a reservation for my mother's birthday dinner. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated promptly. Our waiter was super friendly and got our drink orders- all which were tasty and well poured! I liked the ambiance of the hookah area, however we chose not to sit there because of a little one, thus no hookah for our party. Con: the food was good aromatic and flavorful. However, not made to order. Understandably so that it would all be made to order since we went on a Thursday night and many businesses are understaffed. However, even the pita bread was not made to order . This resulted in all of our food including pita bread and rice to be very cool to the touch. As if it were heated in a microwave versus oven to hold the temperature. We had 4 adults so not a large party, where this can sometimes happen due to timing. The waiter was pleasant enough to offer to send our plates back. However, my husband and I never send our plates back to the kitchen out of fear it would be compromised. Some people have no problem with this. Overall I give it three stars due enjoying our time, the flavor of the food but mostly due to the customer service. I'm suppperrr picky about my hookah and Arabic food being Arabic and from Michigan/Dearborn area. Food is delicious! Hookah came out without me needing to adjust or change a single thing! (Very rare for me to find that outside of Michigan). And the atmosphere is chill and fun at the same time! Owner Fakri and his mom Marvet are such amazing hosts! Felt like I was at family's house. Came here on a random Thursday night and it was pretty empty. They give you the option to smoke while you eat but we decided not to smoke. I noticed they have a stage thing in the front and I'm assuming they have belly dancers and stuff like that on the weekends. I was craving some Mediterranean food and this was the closest place to me that was open past 9. They have a pretty extensive menu, pretty much anything you'd see at any Mediterranean place. I got the kafta kabob plate, which came with rice and two sides. For my sides I got the potatoes and baba gunoosh. I have definitely had better baba ganoosh but the potatoes were so good!! I would definitely recommend that. The kabobs were pretty good as well, I just wish they have us a little more rice. Overall it's a pretty decent Mediterranean place. Long story short : after hearing about this place for a couple of years I decided to try it out this past Saturday for the first time the service was absolutely horrible and I was charge $180.for two "VIP" tabs. I was charged $90 for dinner that I never got. Also they charge a automatic service charge of 18% which was 30.00 on my tab. Now I am a server myself I don't have a problem with a service fee but it's just hilarious that we had no service I literally got up from my chair multiple times looking for my server and after asking three times for dinner we still did not receive it so I finally left at midnight. The only reason I'm even giving 1 stars is because the singer is a wonderful person and that's it. Absolutely horrible place for a $200 tab for two people there are many other places in DFW area that I would rather spend my time at. Never coming back again. read more

I'm usually cautious about buying Groupons for restaurants but I read up on the reviews for Sansabels and everything seemed pretty positive. I came in on a Thursday evening and was surprised there were only 2 other people there. On Thursdays they have their drink happy hour ($2 wells, $3 Titos and Crown and coke) all day! The interior is a little dark for my liking but the wait staff made the ambience much warmer. My waitress was very kind and although she disappeared on me for about 10 minutes after I ordered my food to go talk to a man smoking a hookah leaving my drink empty, she was polite and arrived with my delicious plate of food. I ordered the cabbage rolls and the 3 skewers mix (lamb, beef, and kufta). The cabbage rolls were interesting. It tasted a lot more lemony than I had anticipated and I think that caught me off guard. The rice inside is a bit like the rice in the dolmas, mushy and the plain yogurt made it even more acidic tasting. I think I would like to try a different app next time. My entrée, however, was awesome! Each of the different skewers that I ordered was perfectly cooked and tender. I was having trouble choosing which meat was my favorite, but I'm going to say the lamb. The rice was awesome, mixed vegetables deliciously buttery and garlicy and the hummus and pita just rounded out the meal. I love how they give you 2 types of pita bread: regular and fried. I'm a huge fan of Mediterranean food and I would definitely recommend this Mediterranean restaurant. I really liked the dim lighting and atmosphere. There are a lot of people smoking hookah depending on what day or time you come so keep that in mind. I don't do hookah but I don't mind the smoke or people around me smoking. The smell is actually kind of nice. My bf ordered the white grape hookah which was light like he wanted but he said he wasn't really impressed. He also didn't like the plastic hose because it takes away from the authenticity. Also, they charge $2.49 for the hose which I thought was unnecessary. The staff is really friendly which I appreciate a lot except for one waitress. This is my second time here and during Ramadan they have an Iftar buffet which is really good but I'm sure the lunch buffet is probably similar. I've read the happy hour deals are good as well. The quality of the food is great for the price. The Iftar buffet was $14.99 and they had a lot of different food options. The foods that I enjoyed from the buffet were their sautéed mushrooms, zesty cauliflower, chicken kabobs, spicy garlic potatoes and garlic sauce.
