We tried this place because of the outdoor seating and ocean view...and the picture of Conch Fritters in the Yelp photos. No conch fritters as conch is not in season, but we had wonderful Mahi Mahi sandwiches, hers was grilled, mine was blackened. Very fresh tasting and her slaw was amazing. I had the fries which were very good. There's a touristy/Hooter's feel with the female wait staff wearing bikini tops and very short shorts. Honestly the food is good enough that the extra "show" is not necessary, but it was not too distracting with an ocean to look at. read more

The manager here is an unfortunate part of this business. I live here local and bring 16 guests for lunch and drinks. I ask to use an umbrella not being used so I can enjoy our meal and drinks instead of frying and and he just goes "NO" -there is literally an umbrella not in use across from me. Im so aggravated that I can't wait to leave. This guy belongs in a pound not a a day time establishment that provides customer service. read more

I do not generally write too many bad reviews, but this spot needs some help. First lets begin with some positives. I really liked how easy it was to find parking on a Saturday afternoon across the street. I found a spot with no issue. Perhaps it was the tropical storm warning. The gentlemen who checked our IDs was also nice. The outdoor seating area was pretty empty which may have been because of the tropical storm or because of the pandemic. We sat outside and we were just fine as it didn't rain on us. I like to use the Yelp app to check in to places and as I checked in a special appeared on my phone. I was already going to be ordering, but I was excited to see that. When our server came by and I mentioned it she said that they weren't doing it because of safety reason due to Covid-19. Look if you are hurting financially and do not want to give free items to your patrons I understand. All you need to do is remove them and not offer them, but definitely it is a bit of false advertising. The drinks on the menu sounded great, but no prices. Whoops. I asked our server who gave us a range of between $10-$12 dollars for a cocktail or $30 for a pitcher. Not cheap, but if the quality is fine then not that big of an issue. I ordered a pina colada and it arrived quick. My wife ordered the same drink and our friend ordered a margarita. The drinks were tasty. I love the way the drink came with a cherry, a slice of pineapple, and a shot on the side. Presentation was really nice and the drink tasted great. My wife and friend ordered some snacks for the table. My friend ordered conch critters and my wife ordered fish and chips. The food came out pretty quick as it wasn't really busy. I mean I know it is an appetizer, but the conch fritters were pretty small and there were only five. The fish and chips was also pretty meager, but at close to $20 dollars it is quite the rip off. The atmosphere was okay and service wasn't bad. I would say that the quality of the food isn't all that great so the price seems expensive. If prices are high then a place should either have great quality or a good amount of food. Sandbar does neither. Also charging for a squirt of ranch is weak. It is a sauce. I am glad they didn't charge for ketchup. The staff was all wearing masks, mostly correctly, and it did seem clean. Next time I am in the area I think I would prefer to see some different spots. The pina colada was also pretty darn good and I wouldn't hesitate to drink that again, but I wouldn't come here for food. read more

Good food and drinks. Across the street from the beach makes it convenient but parking is a bit complicated. It's hidden in the back as valet parking but only until you bring a receipt for more than $25 spent you get a free parking for 2 hours. read more

Very cool outdoor bar and restaurant directly across the street to the beach and very near to the downtown nightlife mainstreet area. Very popular area. Definitely a cool spot to go to have lunch at before or after the beach. Usually they probably have sports games on the TVs and a DJ playing music. Lots of fun! read more

I love this place during the day or night it's such a vibe. I like the night the best because of the lights and music but the day right before going to the beach is cool too. The service was great especially the female server me and my girlfriends had were super friendly. If you love sweet beachy vacation like drinks this is definitely the place. The only thing I would add is that for food they only have one gluten free option marked on the menu. So I would eat before coming if I were you! read more

Well been going there for 10 years valet service is fantastic parking experience the view is nice ordered a chicken sandwich today took a 3rd bite and spit it out it was disgusting. Being my first day back for the season I told waitresses about the sandwich she brought back my bill with the sandwich still on bill not in the mood to argue with her I paid and left they need better food quality and better customer service it will be my last visit sad it was part of my routine now I will find a new spot go for a beer if you want but don't eat there !!! read more

I walked in with my service animal and was denied entry. The manager or host told me emotional support dogs are not allowed after I already stated my dog is a service animal. She asked what service does he provide and I tried explaining that I did not need to and felt uncomfortable answering the question. As an introduction to Delray Beach, my landlord brought me here to experience the beach life at a college town. It was definitely an above average experience to have eaten here. We were promptly welcome and seated by the attentive waiters and waitresses, most of them probably going to school at the various universities in neighboring towns. The beach front scenery was unmatched by other local diners and gave you a Caribbean feel, which made me nostalgic about the 2 years I spent living in Grenada. I ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken, a safe option to choose when you go to a restaurant for social hang out more than trying to taste an elegant cuisine. The live music and loud conversations from tables around us kept us entertained and Twas fun to enjoy. Now that I have a lot more free time will probably swing by again soon! read more

This beach bar is truly a hidden slice of heaven. It's got a tiki bar feel to it and is surrounded by actual sand. This is one of the few bars in delray that you can go to straight after the beach, sandy toes and all! It's nice being able to grab a delicious pineapple mojito or a quick bite to eat after a long day in the hot sun! The abundance of searing is probably the best part of this paradise! They have bar stools at the tiki bar, high top tables, beach chairs, couches, and regular dining tables. You can feel like you're at a restaurant, tiki bar, or just hanging out on the beach with your friends. You can play corn hole too! They also have a small stage for a band or a dj. It's always nice to have a variety of good music ! Only downside to this bar is the prices. They do offer specials each day and have an awesome happy hour, but if you're looking for an adorable meal this is not the place for you. read more

I went in there with a service dog and i was told that they can only accept service dog for the blind. I present my service dog ID and ask them to take a look as he is certified . Yet he refuse as he said only certain service dog they accept. The staff that stop us is not properly trained and he was saying that he is only been there 4 days. He discriminate my me and my dog. He did not even look at the ID. He apologized but damaged was done already and all my friends walk out as they are very much disappointed already. I don't recommend the place at all to all pet lovers and owners . It is very hostile and horrible place and they did not even ask us the right questions pertaining to my situations. read more

Don't you just love playing tourist? We are spoiled here in Florida, but someone's gotta do it! We were searching for another dive or tiki bar to grab some small plates or appetizers for our dinner and maybe a drink, when this place popped up in yelp. Frankly, most of the reviews were just okay and mainly mentioned drinks. So we weren't too sure how the food would be. We sat at the bar figuring we'd get better service. The bar was packed when we first arrived, but we were able to make spots and got comfortable. We showed one of the bartenders our yelp check in offer which was a free Cuba libre drink (rum, coke, and lime) and he was most familiar with Yelp and even knew what to press on the app to show we'd used it. The drinks arrived pdq. It wasn't my favorite drink, so I wound up switching to a Diet Coke. My girlfriend got a pina colada instead -- it came with a side shot of alcohol to add into your drink as desired. I should point out that all the waitresses are dressed in bikini swimsuits or bikini tops with sarong bottoms. The men working all had long pants and regular shirts. The gals working were very nice, however, checked up on us often to see if we needed anything, and answered any questions. We started with an order of conch fritters. Six to an order with a dipping sauce. I didn't even try the sauce. The fritters were quite good -- nice and creamy inside and flavorful. Then we shared a half pound of peel and eat shrimp. The large shrimp were liberally dusted with an old bay type spice. They also were very good. And finally we ordered their burger sliders. They were three to the order. We cut one in half so we each had one and a half sliders. Each came with a strip of bacon and a piece of cheddar cheese melted on each mini burger on a small bun. They were good -- not as good as the shrimp or the conch fritters, but decent. There was music to sing along to. A lot of TVs playing various sports games. Sand on the floor in some parts. And conversation flowing. A very busy bar on a Saturday. We could have been a tourist on any island enjoying life and on vacation. Such fun! Come here to enjoy the beachy atmosphere (hard to see, but the beach is actually across the street), have a tropical libation, some bar bites, and pretend you, too, are on vacation. read more

This tacky tiki bar owner came over and asked me to stop blowing up a floatie bc his establishment was too nice(???) Was already embarrassed to be here bc it's off brand for me but beach people telling me to not blow up a floatie in a place that's a step up from a garbage dump and not that special and customers are all wearing swimsuits... is pure insanity. Don't come here. The vibes are not it and tacky af. No chillers and can't take this place seriously.. you're a beach bar lol. NOTHING more. This place is a joke. read more

Sorry to give a negative review but I think it can help the business. First, the bartender service has gone from good to horrid in the last 12 months. The general attitude of the bar staff is negative and abrasive. Second thing is added tips on my credit card. It happened so often up to two weeks ago, me and my boyfriend have stopped coming here. This has happened at least 3x out of the last 5 times we've been here so we are not coming back. Adding tips to your credit card, frankly, is stealing by your bar staff and patio server staff. I've had to call my bank and credit card company and sit with customer service with card companies for around 2 hours total. Perhaps pay your staff better. Audit transactions and use secret shoppers to get their view on your service. Plenty of places to go to Delray Beach but won't be returning to Sandbar until I here things have gotten back to where they were. I have talked to the general manager in person and in phone. He told me to not come back and posted my picture on the Facebook restaurant group in Delray Beach as a trouble makers because I made a genuine complaint about over charges on my credit card. Sorry but the truth hurts. Why don't you address it as a general manager instead of being in denial? read more

To be fair, we didn't eat here and went on a Tuesday, during the day. I am sure the vibe can be different on a weekend. We only had a cocktail and the view. Just came here last weekend! This place is open to the public, and handling all the guidelines to the T. All staff wears masks, the tables are cleaned regularly, all seating is 6 feet apart, and hands are washed. My boyfriend came here after laying out on the beach. We didn't have to wait too long in line (6ft apart of course), and were seated at a high top. Our waitress was a little slow at first, but she made up for it with her great attitude. We ordered a couple of drinks, the conch fritters to start, and split the special which was a chicken finger basket. Everything was yummy, and the food came out hot. I really enjoyed my frozen margarita! I was impressed with how many people were at the place, but never felt uncomfortable at any moment. The weather was perfect, and it was nice being able to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. I will definitely be back and can't wait to bring some friends! read more

Sandbar is exactly what it sounds like, a beach bar on A1A right across the street from the beach itself. It's located right next to Boston's. Be prepared to get ID'd upon entering by a bouncer. There are two bars, one smaller bar and one large bar in the middle with plenty of seating. There are several shaded tables as well. Be mindful of footwear, as it's entirely sand here. I definitely wouldn't wear heels or shoes I cared a lot for here. It's definitely a nice atmosphere. The waitresses are usually on the ball, though on weekends, Sundays especially, I can't really come here anymore. It's just too crowded and the bar is extremely slow. The drink menu is pretty large - mojitos, craft cocktails, tropical drinks, and a nice beer list. You can get cocktail pitchers, too. I really wish they'd display drink prices on their menu. There are NONE. I find it so sketchy. I don't feel I should be surprised by the price of my drink and don't like thinking that I can be charged differently each time I visit. read more

Whether it's a beach day or not, this is the place to be! The outdoor bar is located right next to Boston's on the Beach. Dig your toes in the sand and have a couple drinks while enjoying the ocean breeze. When you check in, you get a Cuba Libre on the house. Can't beat that! The tiki bars and cornhole games fits everyone just right if you're in the mood for extra entertainment. I was happy with the frozen rum runner that I was drinking and I didn't order any food. I can see how this place can get packed on the weekends with the chill vibe and beachin' atmosphere. The only thing that might be a problem is parking. I ended up walking there from a couple blocks away, so I didn't have to worry about finding a spot.
