We ordered a pizza and it was, by far, the best we have had in St. George. We loved the fresh ingredients, the fennel sausage, and woodfired crust. It was hot and delicious. BTW, the pepperoni was not too salty and tasty. We also ordered the Korean wings. A bit spicy, meaty, and delicious. After seeing some photos of this place and the oven, I thought we finally had some real pizza in St. George. NOPE! Pizza was saucy, doughy, and floppy. Sauce looked fresh but had little flavor. Pizza was undercooked even after seeing the cook put it back in the oven. Great looking wood fired oven, so very perplexed how it could be undercooked after two tries. Pizza is on the smaller side, so at $18 for a pepperoni it's expensive. One strike and you're out, won't be back. read more

Went on a busy weekend and feel like I'll have to try it again a different time. Toppings on both pizzas were really good, especially the Heat Wave. Only issue was that there were parts of the crust that were undercooked and still pretty doughy. Also, this gaping hole in one of the pizzas that they covered up with an impressively large basil leaf haha. Don't understand why they went through the effort of finding a piece of basil big enough to cover the rip in the dough and placing all the toppings around it when they could have easily just rolled out another piece of dough. Revisit with positive news, they've refined their menu to accommodate what's selling and not, also what's in season. They've improved their issue with toppings , making sure there's enough and every slice has toppings. They now are selling slices! And Snelgrove ice cream, so if you always wanted to try or are a fan then a slice and Snelgrove ice cream = a great lunch. I had the in season pie with winter squash, every nice chunk of squash was perfectly cooked, it left a pleasant aftertaste. Warning not for everyone, if ya don't like squash there's no sweetness here to cover up the taste, it's not for everyone. The service is still top notch like they just opened. I have to say, my first time at Sandtown was not impressive There were 4 of us, all ordering our own pizza. 3 pizzas came out and we all waited for #4. After about 15 minutes, our server said it was just going in the oven. When she finally got her pizza, it had next to nothing for toppings, compared to someone else's at the table with the same topping. Consistency was not a thing. The wait staff was great! read more

Honestly, incredible food! Pizza is phenomenal! We got the pesto pizza and it was maybe my favorite pizza ever and I'm picky. They had live music and it was so fun and chill. My wife and I stopped in with our kids on opening day. I feel like most of my complaints would be related to the restaurant being busy and they it was the first day. I'm confident they'll work things out and improve the experience overall. I'll start with the GOOD. The crust is delicious. The sauce is great. The toppings tasted fresh. The pizza was a decent size. I really liked the pizza. Some complained about it being burnt, ours was pretty much cooked perfectly. If you're getting brick oven pizza you have to know it's good to be a little crispy on the edges. I also ordered the Parmesan wings. They were very good. I loved that they're cooked in the brick oven in a skillet. The meat was high quality. The sauce had great flavor, but it was a little oily. Now the BAD. This isn't on them, but the pizza does come out super hot and if you don't let it cool the toppings slide right off when you're trying to eat it. The music was way too loud inside the restaurant. The water needs to be server with ice because the bottles, although stored cold, aren't actually cold. I saw others requesting classes of ice, but that should just come with the water. My biggest complaint, the crust was WAY too thing in the center. It was beyond floppy, soggy and a little off putting. I hope it was just the result of things being super busy and it being opening day. All of this being said. My wife and I both agreed it was very good and we will be coming back. We're excited to see more local spots opening and will continue to support them. read more

They have great staff and a wonderful atmosphere so I have a hard time leaving this review. That being said, my wife and I ordered the "Vampire Slayer" and the "Heat Wave". Both came with burnt portions on both pizzas. I'm known for eating the crust on pizzas in my family, but these I couldn't because of how burnt the crust was. Surprisingly they were both a bit soggy. Not greasy soggy, just soggy from the juices of the toppings. The only good thing I could say regarding the pizzas is that they were served with fresh ingredients and some being organic. My wife and I finished the majority of what we ordered because of the flavor, and that we were really hungry.
