Hands down THE best banh mi in town. The owner is very friendly and you're always greeted with a smile as you walk in the door. Every time I come here I always get the grilled chicken banh mi and it's a 10/10 each time (the owner also gives a complimentary unsweet ice tea each time). Amazing because the past few times I've gone, there's always this one lady that takes your orders and serves the food. I've never seen anyone else in there helping her! The sandwich house has got to have one of the best banh mi's...like...ever. What's so amazing about this sandwich?? Just about everything. Their portions are amazing. For only 4.25 you get a great sized baguette filled with the works of a banh mi. They're generous with their amounts of veggies and meat. I've tried their house special #1 and their BBQ pork--both were so good. My favorite part of the sandwich is the bread. So crisp at each bite. You just know that their baguettes were made fresh. Other perks of this place is the free iced tea! So refreshing and pairs well with the sandwich. You also get a couple miniature sweet baguette crisps on the side of your banh mi and they were a great way to end the meal. I've also tried their BBQ pork buns as a snack and they're so soft and tasty. It's a great snack before you eat the sandwich! This place deserves five stars for all sorts of reasons. located across from Cypress College, this place is amazing. From their SUPER friendly customer service to their delicious banh mi, I just found my go to Viet sandwich shop. I ordered a medium iced coffee, a bbq pork banh mi, and a bbq beef banh mi (one for now and one for later). My total was $13, which is pricier than the place I normally go to in GG (banh mi che cali), but while I waited (approximately 5-10 min) the sweet woman running the shop brought me complimentary iced tea and two pieces of toasted French bread that was buttered and sweetened. I was also able to pay with a card, which is a nice change from my GG spot since I almost never carry cash. When my food came up, the woman called me by my name (from my card) and told me she hopes to see me again. Both her and her husband (I'm making an assumption here) were super nice, and I was completely surprised by it. Most Viet shops I stop at aren't exactly known for their customer service. I was pretty hungry, so I opened up the beef sandwich and started eating it on the way home. It was gone by the time I parked my car in my garage, it was THAT damn good. The meat wasn't gristly, and it had a good proportion of ingredients. I liked the addition of onion and cucumber to the sandwich, and the mayo was delicious. Everything in the sandwich tasted fresh and did I mention it was delicious? This place might be a little more expensive, but the customer service and AMAZING banh mi are more than worth it. The owners of this business have earned a customer, and I will be back. My only gripe is that I didn't find this hidden gem sooner, and I have lived in the area for more than three years. read more

This is my new favorite eatery in Cypress. I used to drive 5 miles the opposite direction from my work to grab breakfast at Lee's Sandwich (in Artesia). This place opens at 7:00 AM and it's on the way to my work place. It's so much more convenient for me! The service here is excellent. The people are very warm, welcoming and friendly. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. :) The bread does not tear up the roof of my mouth like Lee's bread. The skin is toasted, but it's not stiff at all. It's crispy and crackles when squeezed to reveal the soft fluffy innards of the bread. Mmmm. You can't do that with a Lee's baguette. If you dine in or take out, they always bring you a fresh brewed cup of tea. I sometimes ask for a cup to go because it's really smooth and makes me feel relaxed. Also, if you are like me and trying to eat healthy, then order your sandwich on wheat baguette. I don't know any other banh mi place that offers wheat baguette!! First off, service was excellent. I phone ordered my #1 sandwich and went to pick up. Owner greeted me by name, informed me that my food will be out, gave complimentary ice tea, and walk over to hand me my take out order. The thing that makes this place unique, however, is the complimentary ice tea and crackers that they give you. Service is A+++. The food was pretty good. I got the house special and the regular Thai tea. I do have one complaint though: they put far too much ice in the Thai tea. It practically filled the whole cup itself. If you order drinks here, ask them to go easy on the ice. If you plan on eating here, you might have some trouble finding seats. There are a few tables with these high squeaky chairs though. The owner is hands down the friendliest man that I've met. He is always friendly and willing to have a conversation with you. The crunch of the baguette isn't too hard where it hurts your teeth but very satisfying on every bite. I usually get the bbq pork, #4. I've been coming here at least three times a week since the summer of 2013. Ann is an amazing host and I'm astounded as to how she remembers all the favorites of her regulars (myself included). Great mom and pop shop!! The owners were super friendly! Once we ordered, 2 (#4) BBQ porksandwich in a frech bread (baguette), we sat down at one of the little tables inside and they brought us each a cup of complimentary iced tea and a refill in a little pitcher, even though we ordered iced Thai and jasmine teas. He said it's perfect for cooling off from the heat :) They brought out our sandwiches to our table and they tasted as great as they looked! I haven't had a variety of bahn mi from many places, but this place hands down is now one of my favorites. Definitely coming back here, service is wonderful and the food deliscious. Sandwich House very quickly became my go-to spot for a quick banh mi or some Vietnamese coffee when I happen to be in the area. The coffee is rich, delicious, and STRONG - and the nice thing is that they don't water it down by giving it to you in a cup ¾ full of ice (coughLEEScough). The sandwiches are also tasty, with really good, soft bread and stuffed insides. We had the BBQ Pork Banh Mi (my favorite kind) and it did not disappoint. Additionally, as everyone else has mentioned, service is EXCELLENT. The first time we stopped in to pick up coffee to go they gave us tea and biscuits on the house while we waited! We made note to tip when they finally charged our card... but they didn't have a write-in tip line and we didn't have cash! We were a little embarrassed, but decided to stop by again later in the day to pick up sandwiches. NOTE: If you plan on leaving a tip, bring cash or tell them up front how much you'd like them to charge. I have had a wide range of Vietnamese sandwiches and for a Vietnamese sandwich shop tucked away in the back corner of a small shopping plaza of Cypress to have 4.5 stars on Yelp? I was shocked. I had to go out of my way to try their sandwich. Food (4 Stars): The shop is pretty small. There are about 4 tables inside and a couple of tables outdoors. The front counter looks cluttered and unorganized because they also sell drinks and chips here (maybe for the college students at Cypress College across the street?). A sweet Vietnamese lady took my order, I ordered the Dac Biet (Special) sandwich and a thai iced tea. Another Vietnamese woman came out from behind and also welcomed me. Sandwich: The bread here really made the sandwich. It isn't you typical loaf of bread like at banh mi che cali, it was crispy on the outside (but not too hard) and fresh and tender in the inside. They give you a lot of meat, pate, and pickled vegetables. I Found the sandwich to be really enjoyable. They have vermicelli and Pho here too! Maybe I will try that next time. Sweet Buttered Toast: They have a crispy toast that is buttered with sugar sprinkled on top. It is kind of like a donut toast - and it is good. I remember my mom actually making something like this for me when I was a kid. It definitely brought back some nostalgia. Service (5 Stars): The women at the counter were so sweet. They have this pitcher and tea cups where they serve you iced tea while you are waiting. They will even pour you some more tea while you aren't looking. When I asked for a To-Go bag, the lady was so helpful and said "Don't worry. I'll take care of you. Come back soon." It's nice to see owners who are so friendly and nice to their customers.
