*Ponder ponder* Since there is no 2.5 stars I'll give them a 3. OK, so I will start off saying that most of the food I tried from here wasn't bad. I remember enjoying their burger as well as their tuna melt. Their fries weren't bad and they always supply a pickle with most meals which I appreciated. The main problem I have with this place is the prices. Most of items seems to be over charged by at least $2.00. To get a drink is another $2-$3 and fires or some other side is another $2.00- $3.00. So, to get a decent mean you're probably going to spend somewhere between $9.00- $13.00 for a meal. Not exaggerating. It's expensive here. PLUS they charge you extra for using your card. Credit or debit, you're getting a 'convenience fee' charge. Another issue I had with this place: Bad coleslaw. REALLY bad coleslaw. I've never had a disappointing coleslaw until I ordered it from here. It tasted like... crunchy water. It had no flavor. HOW DO YOU MESS UP COLESLAW!? It was a soggy mess of lettuce and broken promises. Yeah, it is close but for me it's not really worth it. I got the Pastrami Dip for take out. The sandwich was a bit pricey--8.50 plus tax for an 8-inch sub. It comes with potato salad or cole slaw and a pickle. The sandwich was good--the pastrami was grilled with chopped onions for a few minutes, with cheese melted on top. I don't remember what type of cheese; it could've been Monterey Jack. It took them only a few minutes to make, which is also a plus. The cole slaw could have been crunchier, but then I'm also not a fan of deli sides, so I consider cole slaw and potato salad a little boring. I got decently full off of this meal, my only wish is that they were cheaper. Some delis give me enough for 2 meals for less. Credit card and debit card payments have a 50 cent surcharge. read more

This is a charming neighborhood sandwich shop that attracts a steady and dedicated lunch crowd of pleased diners. They also serves some awesome salads, burgers, and specials -- such as a wonderful salmon on Fridays and Chicken Marsala / Chicken Piccata. The manager and the team always remember you and your favorites, and they treat you like their favorite customer. The prices -- $8.95 for a huge, delicious salad with fresh grilled chicken, avocado and cheese -- is really a bargain. The salad can go for two days, easily. Same with the entrees. Someone compared it to Soup Plantation .... please ... you get McSalad at Soup Plantation. They also have really lovely sandwich trays for catering and serve a delish breakfast. This sandwich shop is close by and a go to for our office! We have tried most of their salads and sandwiches and they are all delicious. One of my favorites is the Cajun chicken! Although, If you're a health nut, keep in mind their take out containers are still styrofoam, so just make sure to specify to wrap your sandwich in foil! I've had better. Really disappointing. I'd been meaning to try out this place for a while, as I like small one-off restaurants. Walking in, it is spartan. no real decor to speak of. The space is inhabited with vinyl and metal chairs, and scuffed, laminated press-board tables. The wall behind the counter and the glass in front is garishly plastered with images of sandwiches. While I don't mind a couple here and there, this was more like food meets comic book. Prices were a bit high as others have noted. In hind sight, I'd have to say the prices were quite high considering the quality of the food. The average price seems to be around $7-$8 depending on the sandwich. Fries or onion rings are another $2.50 approximately, and add a couple more for drinks. My friend's Club looked to be the better choice of what we ordered. However, the turkey looked pressed rather than fresh. The sandwich seemed small too. My Reuben was pretty awful. The sauerkraut was limp (if that's the word to use) and seemed old. The corned beef was tasteless and dry. Parched. The potato salad that came with the sandwich was a plain affair with no celery or any other additions. Simply mayo and potatoes. I can't say the place was dirty, but I can't say it was exuding cleanliness either. The lack of decor and drab walls and floor only added to the depressive atmosphere. It was institutional in quality. I noticed by the register, menus that said "We're Back." Personally, I won't be. My guess is that whatever put them out for a while, will do so again. I work near this little joint and one of my coworkers decided to order from this place one day for lunch, said he knew the owners. We split a cajun chicken wrap which was beyond delicious. Being the health nut that I am, we replaced the salad for some fries, which was the best decision ever. They season their fries and make their ranch from scratch so they're both equally delicious. I've come back on different occasions, tried their steak wrap (which isn't as good as the cajun chicken) and their penne pasta. The pasta is pretty decent and the portion is huge! Really really good. So far I've hard the burger and the philly steak sandwich (2 different times, I'm not that fat I swear!) And both were very good! I like the home vibe you get from the owner Carlos and the staff. They remember your name and treat you like family which is awesome. Everything here is very fresh and made to order, and I LOVE the Lawry's seasoning with the fries!! This place has really great food and it's located close to where I work. I looooove their grilled chicken parmesan wrap and they make a mean, very affordable grilled cheese. That final star is held over because everything seems to cost about $1.00 more than I want it to and I am but a poor church mouse. They also skimp on the avocado from time to time. Regardless, they make really good fries and they still manage to be less expensive than any of the other non-chain alternatives in the area. The Cesar dressing they make is the bomb! I got the Baja salad. It is quite big, which I appreciate. Since the prices are a bit, I do expect the meal to be filling. It was fresh as well. My guess its main customers are the businesses around the area, but amongst the items to be found in my quest for good food is a top notch SANDWICH place. What I ordered: Mile High Pastrami (came with fries and coleslaw) Price: 8 something Environment: small setting similar to a subway When I got my sandwich I thought, man this is alot smaller than I thought. Half way through the fries and the sandwich i realized that it was quite filling. The sandwich was very tasty, but the coleslaw and fries were unremarkable. If I were to come back here I would not order that sandwich again, but they did have a variety of appealing sandwiches, in which I would likely come back and try. IN particular the Rueben and the Philly Cheesesteak are next up. I would have given a higher rating if the sandwich was bigger, maybe in sub form, or if they got rid of the fries and coleslaw, and dropped the price. I really like their food selection, but count on at least 5 extra minutes off your lunch break just trying to figure out what you want to eat, so many choices, so little lunch break time. Their food is pretty good... for me its not a disapointment, but it doesnt give me a wow feeling either.. its food. it fills me up and takes that hunger pain away. The service is great, the cooks, who take your order are always friendly and any questions you have, they go above and beyond answering it for you with detail. Pricing: they are about $1.50 to $2.50 above the average pricing in my opinion for the quality of their food. Examples: Philly Steak/ Fries $8.25.. I had it - not worth it. Pastrami dip - no fries come with it. $7.50 ... I had it - not worth it - was small too. Now keep in mind your most likely getting a drink too, so add another $2.00 on to that and then tax and Bam! your paying $10.00 - $11.00.. The last time I went there my total was over $12.00. I added fries to my sandwich. so yea, my issue with the price is that there are so many other places I can get a meal for the same price or less even.and when im finished I feel like I spoiled myself a bit and I have the Yum factor going on,and not to mention I almost always have left overs as well. .. So this for me is what The Sandwich Man is missing. I just hope their business will survive, because I do like having them around, but I have seen many food shops close down exactly where they have taken residence. Meals end up costing about 10 bucks, and I'd say they are well worth it. I'm not one for cold sandwiches, but I have tried their hot sandwiches and their pasta. The pull bbq sandwich has just the right amount of sauce to remain moist and flavorful without being soggy. The spaghetti with bolognese is fantastic, with a great home made sauce full of excellently spiced beef, onions, and mushrooms.
