AMAZING mom & pop shop!! On a road trip & was looking for a sandwich place to pickup and have a picnic. I called ahead because they close at 2pm & knew we'd be cutting it close on time. Of course, just after I place my order, my 4yr old gets carsick & we have to pullover & it puts us behind & now we wouldn't get there til after closing. I called back & the owner was so understanding & told me they'd stay open for us! On top of that, we got a little lost finding their shop & the owner took my call (again lol) & even walked outside so we could find him. Kind. Considerate. Understanding. Very nice couple but it's very concerning that they don't wear gloves or a mask while preparing food. I stopped in to order a sandwich and the owners were eating lunch. The lady got up to make my sandwich without washing her hands. I only realized it after leaving, I thought it was a fluke. The website said this small sandwich shop opened at 830 AM. When we arrived the door said 10 AM. Before I noticed that the place was not open I cracked the door as it was unlocked. I have been in town working for a little over a week. I have been to The Sandwichery three times for lunch. If I wasn't leaving town, I would go there again. It is a small mom and pop type operation, the type I personally like to support. The parking lot is small and there are lots of one-way streets so getting there may take a little patience. Stumbled upon this little deli and was pleasantly surprised how much you get for your money. As I wanted to make sure it was consistent, returned and was not let down. I had limited money and ended up here,. They had a special going on so I paid less than expected. Got a ham and cheese sandwich with American cheese. It was delicious. The bread was soft and fluffy. It had a big amount of ham and the cheese tasted like cheese not some processed packaged cheese product. As far as sandwiches go this place is great. There were only two people working there and both had a nice charming uniform. A yellow collard shirt with a tie. The atmosphere is kind of vintage themed with lots of collectibles up on the walls. Cool old fashioned place ran by two awesome couples. I ordered the egg salad sandwich and another one with meat, provolone cheese, and with ham. The older gentleman was very polite and had a great humor. After ordering, I went to my car to wait and didn't expect the sandwiches to be done so quickly. First place I've visited for the first time based solely on the recommendation of a Yelper. The SandWichery is located within a short walk of my office, so I imagine Peter B.'s review will bring in some long-term business from Buzz and company. I took a menu back to my office for those work-through-lunch sessions. Not that they need my business. The place was busy with customers, most of whom seemed to be dedicated regulars. I have no idea how the husband-and-wife proprietors keep up with the volume of customers, but they do it alone, and the service was quick. After ordering my take out, the owners asked if I would like to pay with cash or check just as I was pulling out my ATM card. (Personally, it's easier for me to keep track of my money when I use my card.) They seemed annoyed that I had no idea they didn't have a credit machine. Hello, first visit. Anyways, much to my own annoyance, I had to walk two blocks to the Wells Fargo to get some cash, paying a nice little 3-dollar bank fee in the meantime. *eye roll* They weren't very friendly at all. When I get home and open my little white sack, I find out I'm missing a side that was paid for. The bread and fixings were good, but the meat was so salty, I couldn't muster the stuff down.
