We got lucky and found a parking spot right in from of the restaurant which is unheard of in Laguna beach. The food options and the menu were not what I expected since it was salad and sandwiches. So we started with Mock-tails and tried all three but our favorite was over and out. Next we started with the quinoa salad which I have to say was the best I've ever had and once we were done with that we had no space for main dish which were sandwiches. We ordered cream brûlée and blackberry sorbet for desert and they were both great but the sorbet was my favorite. As for the ambiance it is a very nice and casual. The food & service were great. The Caesar salad is a little "odd," as the dressing is not white & creamy. It was more of a vinaigrette. The ribeye steak was HUGE. No one at our table could finish it. All 3 were flavorful & very tender. Cooked to perfection! Accompanied with Brussel sprouts, mushrooms & mashed potatoes, they were all very tasty. What a great place! We had gone to an art installation up the street and were looking for some lunch. We happened upon this place and were not disappointed! A gentleman (may have been a manager or owner) helped us find our way inside and we were sat right away on the patio. (Dog friendly fyi! Saw some puppers) They have some super fun mimosa flavors! So refreshing! Food was fantastic. My friend cleaned his plate-he had the pork belly Benedict. I opted for the BLT which was on a toasted multi grain bread and was just delicious. Where to begin! From Greg and Sal who provide the friendliest warm welcome on arrival, to all the members of the staff, I've never felt so at home at a restuarant. The atmosphere (especially at sunset) is incredible and the food and cocktails are out of this world. Since moving to the SoCal area in 2024, this has quickly risen to a favorite (almost weekly) spot and they keep leveling up with the monthly specials. We had Easter Sunday Brunch at Sapphire and overall it was 3 star experience! Most of the food was good and the service was impeccable - Thank you Marvin V.! I ordered the Hamburger "medium" and it was raw on the inside and the sides. The French Fries were very good. The Meyer Lemon Waffle was a huge disappointment. The Waffle was dry and had no taste. The Meyer Lemon Creme was drizzled over the 4 stacked Waffle pieces and covered about 10% of each Waffle at most (it was treated as a decoration instead of the main flavor advertised on the menu). Instead of the Gravy Boat of Maple Syrup depicted in the photo on the website we received a ridiculously small serving in a metallic receptacle that could hold 1 ounce of Syrup at most. How do they expect us to enjoy the Waffles with almost no Lemon Creme or Maple Syrup? Another thing I found odd was how they charge for the table bread. When I arrived there were other people in our party already seated and 2 bowls of bread on the table. They charge $8.00 for Bread according to the menu. During the meal the server asked if we wanted more bread and we said, "Yes". When the bill came we were charged for 2-1/2 servings of Bread which came to $20.00. I have never been to a restaurant where the Bread wasn't free or you received free refills if you paid for it. Frankly $20.00 for Bread is insane. I have not walked this property since it was The Pottery Shack. Very cool that they kept the old buildings. Atmosphere was great. Perfect if you want to go someplace upscale, but casual enough to feel comfortable. We were celebrating a birthday, and the staff really went out of there to make her feel special. Sapphire was an incredible place! They were very accommodating and sweet to our big family with toddlers. We had an amazing view of the sunset from the patio! Drinks were great- I got the gin rummy and it was very balanced between bitter and sweet- bright and refreshing. It was a last minute selection and we were lucky to be able to get a reservation on short notice. We sat outside since it was a beautiful evening. I also thought that it was a little bit loud inside. For appetizers we had the duck meatballs, the burrata cheese & tapenade in a jar with fresh focaccia and a Caesar salad. All of these were excellent. For entree's we chose the 45 day dry aged bone in Ribeye, the Faroe Island salmon on cous cous and the short rib Bolognese over pappardelle. Everything was fantastic. The wine selections are nice with a decent array of varietals. They also allow you to bring your own wine with a corkage fee. A wonderful restaurant that I will happily return to. read more

Love the view, the staff, the menu options... truly fantastic place! I got the BLT and loved the crispy bacon and whole wheat bread. BF Made a reservation for outside seating, with a view. We had a great table. The wine & cocktails selection was great, we enjoyed a few drinks before our entrees. I ordered the poached salmon and I had one bite before I realized it was not cooked at all. I think the person that poached it rushed it, because only a thin outer was a little cooked :-( The waiter and manager were nice and asked me if I wanted something else. I ordered the pork chop- was also pink in the middle but only in the thicker part of the cut. I ate what I could and when we go the check: the salon was charged, as well as the pork chop. Went Saturday early evening and requested to move to another table and the man who was in charge was dismissive, rude and said that we could not even though there was a table for six available to seat the reservation at allowing us to move. He sat another party of 3 on at a table that barely fit 2 and that order drinks but heard them say that it was uncomfortable and walked out. Those 3 tables along with the table for 6 were still empty when we were done and had not even been push together like he said was needed an hour and 45 minutes later. His whole attitude was unacceptable and obviously doesn't know how to run a quality restaurant for the best service when he has people walking out after being seated. read more

What a find! Glad we tried this restaurant -- yummy food, great service, and all in all a good place to dine. We weren't sure where to go for dinner. Was going through menus online and Sapphire's duck meatballs caught my attention...plus the fact that they had availability still on a Friday night (score!), so made reservations (which I highly recommend doing if you don't want to wait). They have indoor and outdoor dining. Of course, outdoor was popular. Even though the place was across the street and not beach front, depending on where you sit outdoors, you get a nice peek of the ocean. Plus you get to people watch. There are several tables outdoors, heat lamps are placed strategically around, as well as sun umbrellas for some sun/breeze/birds protection, and a nice gas "firepit" (it's really not a pit but you know what I mean). Although the firepit wasn't on that night because the weather was nice. For starters: House Made Duck Meatballs - the one that caught my eye! Rosemary cavatelli pasta, cipollini, melted garlic, forest mushroom sugo, truffle goat cheese $18.50. This is sooooo good, highly recommend! The meatballs aren't gamey (if that's what you're worried about). Every ingredients complemented each other. The sauce! Don't let the sauce go to waste! Sop it up with their Warm Artisan Rosemary Focaccia Bread. Warm Artisan Rosemary Focaccia Bread - with whipped honey butter $7. I try not to eat bread when dining out because it's a filler, but I made an exception on this one. It went great with the Duck Meatballs sauce. Another "highly recommend". I usually do my annual summer trip for the pageant of the masters. Every once a year we choose a new restaurant to try out. Just a heads up if making a reservation through yelp it doesn't give the option for outside dinning. On any given beautiful day I would request to eat outside in the front patio. We didn't have this option bc when we asked they said it was all booked. I had the pasta with the slow cooked pork it was spicy and flavorful. Good dish! My aunt went for the salmon she ate the whole plate and the sides paired well. And the last meal was the basic hamburger which you can't really screw up. My aunt and cousin ordered the margaritas per their opinion they felt like it wasn't good. It didn't taste like a traditional margarita. The drink options were pretty pricy $11+ per drink. On a side note: parking is in the back for free with validation. One less star bc of the timing they were so busy they need more staff read more

Came here in May for my Birthday weekend, which also happens to be Mother's Day weekend. We made reservations and when we arrived were told it would be a long wait due to people not leaving their tables as often. This was disappointing because we had plans after but we made it work. I wish they could have texted folks and told them this - they called me the day before confirming my reservation so I am assuming they have peoples phone numbers. There isn't a place to sit and wait really as it's right on PCH and it's just a busy part of the main strip there. Once seated (we took first available, inside) the place was so full, it has some fun decor and it has a nice breeze from the ocean right outside. We had hoped that since our reservation was pushed back that we would get the dinner menu (it was after the listed brunch hours) and we'd spent our wait time looking at that menu to make choices. We were told too many people still wanted to eat brunch so we couldn't. It was fine, understandable, but a little disappointing. We ate brunch, the food was tasty and there were some fun options. It seemed like our server was overwhelmed and wasn't super engaging. Also took very long time to bring things back or check on us. All of this is understandable on a holiday weekend, but hoping the feedback encourages them to plan differently for future days. read more

I've been to Sapphire a few times now and it's always a great experience. If you sit outside, and if you're in laguna beach why would you not, you have a nice ocean view. It was a little overcast when I was there but that's not their fault! I had the Meyer lemon waffles which were light and crispy and tender with a delicious lemon cre sauce and a side of syrup, topped with berries. It was wonderful! My daughter had the chicken sandwich which was a very generous portion and came with a huge side of herbed French fries. I had to try hers too and it was delicious!!
