    Quinoa and roasted veggies bowl.
    Diane Y.

The location is just a block from the beach with a view. The patio is spacious with lots of people bringing their dogs. The menu is diverse and I wanted vegan, so I got a delicious quinoa veggie bowl with portobello mushrooms and lots of fresh veggies. The server was friendly and kept the water full. It was a late lunch hour, so it wasn't crowded, but I enjoyed it that way. If you're in the area, it's a great option. I would definitely go again.

We have driven by Sapphire a million times but haven't tried it until today! Super quaint, Laguna Beach along with the "greeter"! We were warmly welcomed and quick personal service from Marvin. We had a Bloody Mary and a glass of Chardonnay. We ordered Osters and they were great! Then we shared a salmon Benedict with a medley of vegetables - really good!

I've been wanting to try this place so we decided to give this one pace a try during OCRW! We made reservations and got a seat on their generous size patio! The water guys were great! We never had an empty glass of water during our meal! That's impressive, haha. We both got the OCRW meal. We got 1 of each appetizer- gem salad & tomato bisque. It took a little bit for the food to come out when it wasn't that crowded but we enjoyed the view. Both were good. Then we waited a bit for our food but we got the lamb shanks which was huge!! The server said it was about 12oz! My friend said it was good! I got the seabass with veggies which I really enjoyed! Light fish and loved the veggies! We both got the crème brûlée which was a good way to end the deal! Everything was delicious! You also get an amazing view of the sunset which we didn't even plan. Definitely worth a try!! SYOY!

Mexican Shrimp & Chilean Sea Bass Ceviche

Sapphire is such an amazing restaurant. Its located just a block from the beach so the dining experience comes with a beautiful view. The patio area is very spacious so there is plenty of room for people to enjoy the ocean breeze. I dined here on a Friday evening and it was pretty busy. Despite how lively it was, our server was extremely attentive to all of our needs. The manager, Sal, was extremely friendly and I noticed him engaging with tables throughout the night. The food was all so delicious. For appetizers we ordered the White Mexican Shrimp & Chilean Sea Bass Ceviche, the Rosemary Focaccia Bread, and a cup of their Seafood Chowder. The Ceviche was fresh and packed with flavor. The Focaccia was so fluffy and was served with a delicious whipped honey butter. For my entree I ordered the Short Rib Pappardelle. The chunk of short rib was massive and the creme fraise really tied all the elements of the dish together. My friends ordered the Wild Caught Chilean Sea Bass and American Wagyu Beef Burger. Both were yummy. Overall the food, service, and ambiance were top notch. Will definitely be back.

    Steak Cesar Salad

The manager, Sal, and our server, Mariah, went above and beyond to make sure we had an incredible dining experience. Their hospitality made us feel truly welcomed, and it's rare to find a team that cares so much about their guests, Sal really took initiative to make it a rememberable dinning experience, I never interacted with a more professional and well manned manager ever in my life. They even were able seated us at a beautiful table overlooking the ocean, where we got to enjoy an unforgettable sunset during dinner. The food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the Caesar salad with steak, and it was hands down one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had. The dressing was rich and flavorful, and the steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned beautifully. We also started with the focaccia appetizer, which was outstanding. The bread was warm, soft, and fresh, and the honey butter spread completely exceeded my expectations. I could have eaten it by itself all night! For my drink, I had the chef's special cocktail made with limoncello vodka and (I believe) lemon boba. It was not only beautiful to look at but also one of the most unique and delicious cocktails I've ever had. Between the incredible food, the breathtaking ocean view, and the outstanding service, this was a dining experience I'll remember for a long time. Thank you, Sal and Mariah, for making us feel so welcome and taking such great care of us. We left feeling appreciated, happy, and already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend!

Despite the rainy Christmas Eve weather we had a great time. Unfortunately our first impression was not good as we were seated at a 2 table and when I asked the hostess to move us, she said no. I wasn't going to sit in a small table so I asked our server if we could get relocated, and they did. Throughout the night we kept our eyes on other couples who were not seated in the tiny table which irked me. Fabio was our server and he was great. Kudos to him for being the saving grace for the bad start. The food was delicious and we both had the soup of the : clam chowder. I'll gladly say that my cioppino was worth the effort and price. Stephen had the surf n turf and it looked amazing too. Next time I'll add to put me at a 4 top table in my reservation. Dinner with starter and drinks came to $195 before tip.

It starts with location- this smaller restaurant is located right on PCH in Laguna. It has both indoor or outdoor patio seating. Outdoor you have a view of the ocean. The menu is varied and when we were there, they had some daily chef specials. The service is top notch. Staff friendly and personable. Professional and skilled in being attentive, knowledgeable but not pushy. We opted for several of the chef specials including a French onion soup with apples, bacon and blue cheese. Potato and short rib croquettes. And an entree of chorizo and lobster pasta. The food was amazing! The spice level perfect to be noticed but not overwhelming. This is a very charming, comfortable and delicious restaurant. The only negative there, the parking. You will need to find metered street parking- but it is worth it!!

Came here on a Sunday right after the morning crowd. Great find. A little pricey but the food was very good. Steak really hit the spot for me. Fiancée got the chicken schnitzel she really liked hers as well. The nutella waffles offered a nice sweet change of pace. All in all great restaurant with an interesting view of PCH

One word to describe Sapphire? Heavenly. You only need to order one thing from the menu to be transported into a food-gasm. My girlfriend and I reserved online and were seated early and promptly. We decided to get the truffle macaroni and cheese, which was creamy, delightful, and everything you want in an iconic cheesy dish--crunchy, oven-baked, with dazzling presentation. For our other two dishes, we chose the Chicken Schnitzel and the Pork Ragu Pasta, which both complemented the macaroni well. Portions are big and plentiful--shareable and affordable--yet the experience still feels like you're treating yourself to a luxurious, high-end dinner. If you're looking for a delicious brunch or dinner after a long day at Laguna Beach, this place will not disappoint. Wonderful service, great environment, and a beautiful view of the beach. Sapphire is not just a small diamond in the rough, it is a polished and pristine gem of a restaurant that demands strong compliment.

This restaurant is nestled in a small shopping complex, and while it may look homey, don't be fooled - the food is superb. It was a bit hard to get our server's attention sometimes, but once obtained, service was great. My dad is a notoriously picky eater but enjoyed each dish (we got the salmon, veggie pasta and burger). I could continue to wax on about the food quality, but will abstain and just say - please have dinner at sapphire.

Cute place with indoor and outdoor seating, only a block away from the ocean. Came here for brunch with my parents and we all enjoyed our drinks and food. Good to note that they have free parking with validation for a few hours. Great place to people watch, as it's close to the beach. Our server Daniella also added to the great experience we had. She was friendly, attentive and overall a great server. Don't forget to leave room for dessert, as their cream brûlée is delicious.

I've been wanting to try Sapphire for years (after driving by the yellow umbrellas on PCH) and it did not disappoint! The food was fresh, portions were large (check out my omelette!), and the staff served with a smile. Both the interior and exterior spaces were very well maintained and cleaned.

We got seated at our table at our table around 4:30p and had the most perfect view of the ocean! *we went on a Friday night and noticed the patio cleared out about 4:45-5pm and I didn't appear to have a lot of people waiting during that time. The main patio was covered with umbrellas, so once you are seated for dinner, there was plenty of umbrellas for shade and heaters for when it got a little cooler. For our food orders, and as recommended by our server, we went with their seafood options and ordered their Pacific Ceviche for an appetizer and for Entrees my husband got the Roasted Halibut and me and my mother-in-law both got the Scallop and Shrimp pasta. We all loved our dishes and were very satisfied with our choices. Their menu does have non-seafood options, but why not to try what they're most prominent for? They don't have a dessert menu, but they heard that we were celebrating mom's birthday so they brought us a little Toffee Cake to share and enjoy...and for a place that doesn't have dessert, the cake was pretty delicious. Such a cute place all around. My husband and I can't wait to go back! I ordered the scallop and shrimp pasta, and on my very first bite of the scallop, it had a strong ammonia taste--a common sign that seafood has gone bad. After that, I completely lost my appetite and couldn't eat the rest of my meal. My daughter ordered the cioppino, and after checking the seafood in her dish, we noticed the scallop was also very rubbery and didn't seem fresh either. Fresh seafood is something restaurants should never compromise on. Based on this experience, I can't recommend eating here and would suggest trying another restaurant instead.

Great martinis, and overall we enjoyed our food (blackened fish sandwich with fries and the bistro plate) and the energetic vibe. Not 5 stars because I ordered the filet medium rare and it came well-done, and the French onion soup was lukewarm with a slice of unmelted cheese floating on top. Also the floor was oddly slippery, and it was actually comical watching people a few drinks deep trying to navigate to the bathroom without falling. This is in a main tourist drag so my expectations were managed, and I'd still come back for drinks when I'm in the area. It's only a 10 min walk from Pageant of the Masters, though valet parking (down the street at their sister restaurant South of Nicks) closes around 10:30pm so plan accordingly.

Would 100% come back. That said, I'd admit, a certain DTLA Michelin restaurant has set my expectations of south of border seafood cuisine a bit too high (starts with H) so I'll try to be reasonable. Also the items picked were surprisingly huge and i was too full to finish my meal. 9/10 The chips tasted delicious, bean dip was something new and delicious, salsa was fresh and bold, and the roasted pepper salsa was surprisingly not too spicy, really good. 8/10 trio de cheviche. Good assortment and size of the dish. Shrimp was ok, I felt it was missing something, octopus was good, my personal favorite was the marinaded tuna. 8/10 seafood chile relleno, not a bad assortment, sides were good, large portions of food. 10/10 Coco rita, this margarita is definitely something different! And pairs with everything amazingly, I love it, and this is coming from someone who normally hates coconut. 9/10 they brought out this chocolate cake I dont see on the menu but they will if it's your birthday, but in my case to celebrate my new engagement. Super moist. The place is really loud ambient wise when busy which was around 8pm which is normal of any popular place but after near closing around 9:30 is pretty quiet and casual on a Sunday. Total bill after a 21% tip ran me total $165 and I had leftovers. Free chips, 1 large giant appetizer, and 1 large entree could potentially feed 3 people if you don't eat a lot. If you don't wanna have leftovers, go easy on the chips but that's gonna be hard.

Ambiance plays a big role (in my opinion) to a restaurant and not getting to be seated inside or at least on a patio docked some points off for me. For a special occasion dinner, I don't want to be sitting in a parking lot tent. For the price point, I didn't really feel the restaurant quality (plating, service, ambiance) really reaches those expectations. I can tell their food is great, I think I wish I chose something different when ordering. I couldn't tell you exactly what we ordered since I think they launched a new menu just this week but I'll describe it the best I can. Espresso Martini -5/5 Great espresso martini! No notes. Burrata with pesto - 4/5 Light and refreshing appetizer. This wasn't my first choice for appetizer but my partner loves burrata so we got it. It would be really hard to mess this up so I have no notes. $20+ for one tomato was pretty shocking, though. Tagliolini with shrimp and mushrooms - 2/5 To be fair, I've never had tagliolini before so I don't have a reference point of how it should be and maybe it's just not my style. The pasta was thin and flat and very very soft. There was absolutely no bite to it whatsoever and felt like it might be over cooked (again, I'm not expert so maybe this is how it should be). Because of the texture and size it kind of was just one big soft clump on the plate. The shrimp and mushrooms were nice and I enjoyed the sauce but I really didn't like the pasta on this one. And I know plating have any affect of the food but this one seemed really sloppily thrown together and I was pretty sad when it was put on the table. Definitely wasn't pretty or exciting to look at. Pappardelle made w/ beets in quail ragu - 4/5 We really enjoyed this pasta! The pasta itself had a subtle sweetness to it from the beets which made it much more interesting than your typical pasta dough. It had a nice chew, which is what I was really missing in the other dish. The quail ragu was yummy, although we did find a bone but it was large enough to easily pick out and put to the side. Panna Cotta - 4.5/5 Thick and rich vanilla panna cotta with a tart berry compote. Very delicious!
