I came here after being turned down by gringos and never getting a call back after waiting almost 2 hours to be seated. For ONE person. I'm not a huge Sushi fan but my girlfriend has said this place is really good and I figured I'd get some stuff to-go. I waited maybe 20 mins for my food if that. The pork Shumai is GREAT. A little small but is wonderful. My girlfriends California Roll is HUGE. And when you ask them for a bunch of Sriracha they give you a BUNCH of it. Definitely will come back for dine in. read more

We have eaten here twice now. Everything has been fresh and prepared well. They have a nice menu selection on both sushi and wine. On our last visit we were trying to eat light and the waiter let us know that they could prepare any sushi roll with cucumber. I appreciated the suggestion and I didn't miss the rice at all. By far the best sushi place from Conroe to Houston. We have been coming here for 6 years, and even after we moved further away and closer to other sushi restaurants, we keep coming here. The servers and chefs are the friendliest and most professional of anybody else around. We have tried every sushi restaurant in the area and have had a lot of sushi in California, Okinawa, and mainland Japan... we will vouch for no other place in Texas but Sapporo in Magnolia. The clueless 'Owner' is rude and atrocious. Took a bathroom break, when I came back to the table the busser was clearing, told him I wasn't finished, unfortunately he'd already taken my sake to the bar. 'Owner' refused to replace my sake stating that he was already closed. (Restaurant closes at 9:30, it was 9:35, and there was another table still there, along with a bar customer.) Gave me $10 dollars instead of simply giving me the sake I hadn't finished, left the $10 for my server ($44 dollar check). Let the 'Owner' know I wouldnt be back and why, he could care a less, which is probably why the place is dead anytime I've been in. 24/7 not so happy Happy Hour is a good indicator of how desperate and lame this place is. Our waitress and at least 2 other staff members check stopped by to make sure everything. Every employee that we passed said goodbye and thanked us for coming in. Environment: They have tables, booths and bar seating. The had the Raptors v. Warriors playing by the bar. It was pretty busy. Terrible place! My husband ran in here to get food after feeling his sugar dip while at the gym. He told the lady he wanted grilled chicken and rice the $12 plate on the menu. Isabella asked him if he wanted two chicken and shrimp he said sure. Well she didn't explain to him that it's extra, it ended up costing $30! There was maybe 2oz of chicken and 2oz of shrimp, rice, grilled veggies, the house salad and soup. The food wasn't all that good either, and over priced. read more

I randomly stumbled upon Sapporo today and was enticed to try out their happy hour menu. The restaurant itself is kind of large. There's a bar with tv screens, Japanese style floor seating, booths and regular tables. The menu was extensive and had items that aren't commonly found in local Japanese restaurants. I was quite overwhelmed with the menu and went with the waiter's favorite rolls. For an appetizer, I tried Henry's Signature Special Scallop, which consisted of Hokkaido scallop topped with seared crab and shrimp. The scallop was served over a cucumber. I thought they put too much sauce and it was kind of hard to eat, but I would get it again. The rolls were huge. I tried the New York roll, which consisted of shrimp tempura, cucumber, avocado and topped with crab. It was kind of like eating grocery store sushi, so wouldn't get it again. The Texans roll consisted of spicy salmon, avocado and topped with pepper tuna. I thought is was a bit too raw and heavy on the ponzu sauce. Overall, I would go back again to try other items on the menu. Be sure to pick up a VIP card while you're there to save 10% on every visit. read more

We came here for lunch and there were hardly any customers. The food was good and Khrystina, our server, was excellent. They're a little pricey compared to other Japanese restaurants in the area. What I didn't like the most, and the reason why we will not be back is that they charge you for every substitution. My husband wanted soy paper instead of nori so we were charged an additional $2. We wanted veggies instead of fried rice, so we were charged $2. They are pricey to start with, but if you nickel and dime people in addition to the high price point, then that really ruins the customer experience. I would rather spend money on better, fancier restaurants which aim to please their customers than this. read more

The alleged 'Itamae' (sushi cooks) were very young & spent most of the time staring at attractive guests or the TV above the bar area. - Sticky rice was not used; causing rolls to easily break. - Rolls were drenched in sauce & fish was minced to hide poor cuts. - 'Spicy' options were bland; unless profuse amounts of wasabi were added. Additionally: Waiter was creepy & general staff service throughout was poor. I would recommend ANY other Woodlands sushi location over this one. So here's how my service from here went, They barely paid attention to us, probably because we were the only ones sitting at a table when everyone else was at a booth, but still. Then they forgot to give one of our orders so when we were already full and tired of waiting for our unagi don, we asked to cancel it. But our waitress said straight up said no you can't and then she goes and grabs the order by the sushi bar where not one waitress saw. So the food was completely cold at this point and we complained about it, so our waitress goes on and asks us very bluntly if we wanted it to be microwaved! At this point I'm very appalled and she goes and gets the manager. But as I start explaining the situation, the manager quickly cuts me off and just says that they will cancel it. So overall, everyone was very rude and slow. I would not come back to this restaurant let alone recommend this place to anyone read more

Family and I love Sapporo. Is it the greatest sushi ever? Maybe not, and we've had questionable service at times. But for the most part, they do it right! Sushi has always been good and tasted fresh. We've never waited and get right in but it is and does get crowded. Prices are really good and have awesome prices for kids! In terms of non-sushi, literally we've tried pretty much all the appetizers and they all have been tasty, more than what we would have thought on some of them! The lunch and happy hour specials here are great too, but compared to other lunch specials i have seen at Japanese/ sushi restaurants it is not the best ever. i enjoy the atmosphere here and the fact that it is not over crowded. The service here is excellent and the people are very friendly which is why i always come back. I would definitely give it a try, but go during happy hour or lunch. Went here last Saturday for lunch to celebrate Fathers Day. We had quite possibly the best service in the woodlands. My drink never went below half way before a refill was placed right beside it. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was better than most comparable meals we've experienced locally as everything seemed fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The sushi roll, however was exceptionally wet. I mean literally it sat in a puddle of soy sauce and water. It was tasty, but I had to drain it before dipping it in my wasabi and soy sauce mixture. A friend and I were first timers here. We ordered an avocado eel roll, shrimp fried rice ,and two bowls of miso ramen. The delicious ramen came in a giant bowl that was a struggle to finish. It was too good to not finish! We ended our meal with some plum wine ice cream... which I have to say is the best thing on earth. This is easily my new favorite flavor. The food was excellent.. but my only problem was with the server, Trevor. HE WAS AMAZING. This literally one of the best restaurant experiences I've had. I love this place. We are new to neighborhood and our first experience was inviting. The fish is great and fresh. The chicken Katsu sauce is lovely and thicker than the normal which I love. For a roll I suggest the Trevors special. Of coarse they have Sapporo beer so I'm a happy camper with that. There are usually pretty slammed so don't go starving. Oh the spicy garlic edamame is delicious. It's local and I'll always be back for more. Plus they have a rewards system which is a bonus for sushi lovers. Sushi is very fresh, good portions and well made. I find at lunch time the rolls are not as well made but everything is fresh. Lots of options on menu. Udon and seaweed salad are also great! I have been to Sapporo several times and I find the prices high and the "all day happy hour" is not really a great deal at least compared to other Sushi restaurants in area.
