I really like Saraghina pizza and it's the perfect go to place in the bed sty neighborhood, considering we don't have too many restaurants in this part of bed stuy. The pizza is great, but my favorite thing on the menu is the Cascio a Pepe. Perfect place to go with friends and they have a beautiful outdoor seating area. Casual date night spot or good for small groups. Arrived with 4 others on a Wednesday night and we were seated instantly. The restaurant was buzzy and most tables were taken in the section we were in. There was a 40 minute wait for outside seating. I had my eye of the prosciutto & fungi pizza from my pre browse earlier that day it really looked great ok arrival! The food came out super quick, maybe 12 mins maximum. I was starving so this was well received! The pizzas are heavy toppings which was great and really packed a punchy flavor. Our table also had a side of focaccia which imho was a little on the salty side. The five of us shared a tiramisu, which if you're feeling pretty full this between 2/3 would actually be fine. This wasn't the best tiramisu I've ever had in my life but still tasty regardless. Heavier on the cream than I'm used to. Prompt, speedy and friendly service to top it all off. As a table we had: Whipped Ricotta w/ Foccacia Bread, Beets and Straciatella, Wild Mushroom Faro Risotto, Hanger Steak, Spaghetti, Marinated Olives, Brussel Sprouts, and the Fava Bean Puree. The management here is lacking. There were no waiters- we were served by hostesses and busboys for our lunch. They were incredibly nice but not servers. I assumed that she didn't know the protocol when the food is burnt and the ingredients are missing. PIZZA The pizza was mediocre. I ordered the Margherita. Sauce tasted fantastic. Crust was burnt and not in a rustic flavorful way. More so in a 'oops we forgot the order toss in in there and cook ASAP way'. For $13, the equivalent of 2 good slices, the 2 sprinkles of basil leaves on a pizza based on BASIL = a huge disappointment. And the basil was burnt to the point it shriveled up and tasted like dry seasoning. Which sucks when you walk somewhere to taste fresh sweet basil as a topping. BEER Beer selection was awful- only 2 draft picks! $9 drafts at noon while showing the World Cup? In Brooklyn? In Conclusion... Do yourself a favor and caveat emptor when considering this joint- check back in later when the manager is working. It's got potential but it probably got too relaxed with high ratings. The waiters are easy on the eyes and clearly understand customer service French Toast with fresh fruit was good not too sweet huge pieces of toast Pizza dough was amazing thin yet fluffy but the Buffalo pizza was bland had to ask for garlic which came sliced so yay for authentic Hubby had the sausage one and he said it was amazing I don't eat pork so can't comment Sis had burger with bun on the side and salad instead of fries. They brought it out with fries took it back and fixed it immediately. The salad was good and the caramelized onions and roasted tomato that came with it were a great accompaniment. I tried the burger wasn't impressed. Cappuccino was perfect, not lip burning hot but just the right temperature, nicely frothy and quite aromatic. Made a stop here last minute with the girls for a quick bite. We were in a hurry and the staff quickly put a table together for 6 people. Our server came over and made great drink suggestions. It was nice for a cold autumn/winter day. 3*** Food: 1. Magherita pizza- well I expected some basil but didnt really get any. The sauce was to sweet for me. And I didnt think there was enough cheese. And I definitely didnt get that nice stretchy cheese after a bite. The crust was thin not doughy. 2** 2. Fritto Misto- this was your fried seafood- shrimp, calamari, fish (not sure the type of fish) and vegetables. It was fried well and didnt fall off with one bite. The seasoning was perfect and not to salty. 4**** Staff: Very efficient with great service and timing. The servers were friendly and accomodating. Overall, i would give them 3.5 stars. It's a neighborhood favorite. Cozy, plenty of tables, and delicious comfort food. Most people come for pizza, but the other dishes at brunch are equally delicious! Their bacon is very high quality (organic TYVM) and super delicious (crispy, not chewy) and the eggs have deliciously runny yolks. Big fan of the breakfast potatoes aka home fries as well. Many of the egg dishes come with a lovely, fresh side salad that compliments the meal. Cubana salad is LIT people, they do not skimp on the avocado which is exactly what we all need in our lives. Coffees are good, fairly strong espresso drinks so we are good in that department.
