Wow! Sattdown Jamaican Grill is officially a must-visit in Studio City. I came in because everyone kept telling me to try their vegan oxtail, and it did not disappoint -- tender, flavorful, and seasoned to perfection. Pair it with the classic rice & peas, fried plantains, and fresh veggies, and you've got a full plate that hits every note. I also tried the ginger pineapple drink, which was refreshing and the perfect balance of sweet with a little kick. The whole vibe here feels warm, welcoming, and true to Jamaican flavor, with plenty of vegan options that make it easy to order a full meal without compromise. If you're vegan and looking for authentic, bold flavors in Los Angeles, this is your spot. Already TLW approved -- and I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Visited Sattdown Jamaican Grill while in Studio City, CA. The atmosphere was casual and laid-back, and the service was friendly. We stopped in craving some Caribbean food and tried the roti -- it was okay, but coming from a Trinidad roti perspective, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. That said, it was still a satisfying meal overall. Overall, a decent spot if you're in the area and craving Caribbean flavors. Saluti

Honestly amazing food and flavor. Reminded me of Jamaica! I met the owner that day too who is lovely. This place is in a parking lot and almost easy to miss so please find this place! Overall delicious, plates are a bit pricey.

I had the jerk shrimp.. it was so good, and the cabbage was seasoned so well. The oxtail was nice and spicy, also very tender. My favorite drink when I come to is the fruit punch drink. Everyone is always so nice and friendly; the service is always the best . It's a very cute small restaurant, and they have all of the Caribbean spices and pepper sauce. I will come back again for sure.

Just bought food from here this evening and i have to stay it's probably the worst Jamaican food i ever bought! Two orders of jerk chicken & oxtail with 2 beef patties, one cracker snack, a carrot cake & a drink. The food taste is horrible and smell! The little I tasted took me straight to the bathroom! The two orders are sitting here before I dispose them in the trash! I barely leave comments but I always tried another place in Hollywood which was excellent , then I decided to try this place and it's the worst decision I ever made! About $100 food about to go to waste! ‍

First meal today: Oxtail w/rice /sweet plantains/veggies. A generous amount of oxtail will leave you wanting more. Then you find yourself sucking the bone . I usually have leftovers but I ate everything. You cannot put the fork down at Sattdown. I'm in a food coma now, yet I have never been happier. Introduce Sattdown Jamaican Food to your taste buds.

It's been a while since I came so I was surprised when I entered it looked like a convenience store! You order at the counter, and there are a few tables inside and outside. There were quite a bit of food delivery/take out orders. We wanted some oxtail, so we came here and also got the jerk chicken. You can select the heat level but the lowest for the non-vegan and non-seafood is medium. The combo plates come with rice and beans, veggies and plantains. The jerk oxtail was in its own sauce while the jerk chicken was blackened. Consequently while both were "medium" the oxtail had noticeably more heat. Oxtail was quite juicy! Chicken perhaps was too grilled though with some extra burned ends. There is a parking lot but you can also park on the street: metered on Ventura and free (read the signs) on the residential side streets.

Amazingly flavorful, fall-off-the-bone oxtail plate, which paired deliciously with the plantain, rice, and pickled veggies.

Delicious goat curry and amazing service. The owner is very sweet and made us feel at home.

Definitely not real Jamaican food but i shouldve known when an asian lady took my order she was nice . Plantains were good . Beef patty dry idk if its from scratch definitely ddnt taste like it! Chicken was burnt and just not good :( this definitely isnt authentic Jamaican food . Like at all . Nice selection for Jamaican seasonings & spices

Ayooo!!! Back at it again! Stumbled upon this cute Jamaican restaurant/market. Food is togo. I only got a Meat Patty, def will return for some oxtails. Patty was one of the best i've had. It was perfectly flaky with just the right amount of spice in the meat filling. Staff was so nice explaining the menu. There is a parking lot and cards are accepted. Come check this place out

The space is really quite large. I was happy to see there was a seafood counter with a display case of smoked fish, a couple of dips, aged beef. The guys were super friendly behind the counter. I spotted the cafe area where they serve coffees and teas - I made a note that I had to come back to try that. Back to the deli counter - they recommended I try the smoked sea bass since they don't get it in often so I took some of that and a smoked salmon collar. The hand roll bar was empty since it was late in the afternoon but too early for dinner. I promised the sushi chef there that I would return. So I went back today with a couple of friends. We sat at that hand roll bar and had the best hand rolls I've ever had. We ordered a la carte and I absolutely loved those creations - full of flavor, texture - unique and tantalizing! I'm curious to go back and try some of the other things on there like the burger? the shabu shabu? I can't wait to see how they serve those items. Their little market area is fascinating as well - with small bottles of soy sauce aged in bourbon barrels and other delicious sounding ingredients. I did end up taking home a shaker bottle of their house made furikake. Can't wait to try that! I'm so happy this is in the neighborhood. It's a great spot to introduce friends to and serves as inspiration for anyone who loves to cook.

Sat at the bar and we were greeted immediately and provided water. After a quick glance at the menu, started off with cocktails. The Mai Tai want your classic Mai Tai, and the better said they were missing an ingredient, so he did a twist on the Mai Tai. It was ok, felt it was missing a needed flavor element though. The passion fruit mojito was pretty tasty though, definitely had that mojito taste with a little passion fruit pop. For food we started with two grilled oysters and the lobster and crab cake. The grilled oysters were delicious, but how do you go wrong with anple cheese and bread crumbs texture on an oyster? The lobster and crab cake was also great, plenty of crab and lobster meat within. Exactly what you would want in this dish. For entrees we went with the dry aged New York strip and, they had a special wagyu Burger with blue cheese and truffle. The strip was aged for 18-24 days, cooked perfectly and was so tender. Just a bite you want to enjoy each time. The burger was also delicious with the truffle mixed with the blue cheese and caramelized onions. You get a little of everything in each bite, just makes your mouth happy. Overall, nice steakhouse spot in Burbank that is well with the trip. That burger was phenomenal, as was the NY strip, and that lobster and crab cake along with the oysters, delicious. The Mai Tai could be improved but they did what they could with the ingredients on hand, so that's my fault for choosing something they didn't have everything for. Definitely a nice gem in Burbank so, if you're in the area, and are hungry, go stop by and enjoy what they have to offer in an upscale space.
