By the time we got all the extra fat off of them they were cold and greasy and almost gelatinous. Plenty of collagen in these babies. Drums were small but seemed to be cooked through. We finally made it downtown Boerne to check out the Christmas lights and worked up an appetite so came here after! Our waitress was so friendly. We started with the fireballs, which were Mac n cheese balls with a side of sriracha. They were SO good! We were having a hard time deciding with the sauces so our waitress offered to bring out a fee for us to try from the ones that caught our eye, along with an extra one that she recommended (honey sriracha, which wound up being our favorite!) the wings were flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the fries came out salty and hot! Giving just three because it was a very mixed review place. My first time eating in-house, have had delivery many times, my husband loves the cheesesteak. This review is just for eating in the establishment. The place was packed on a Friday at lunch. In my opinion they don't have that kind of space for so many people to where dining was uncomfortable, where you're making weird eye contact with the stranger sitting right next to you. Just the way the tables between the booths are spaced makes it awkward. The mozzarella sticks are amazing! My two kids and I ordered those and the queso de lujo i believe is the name but no one would touch it after the first bite. Something is very different about the cheese and tortilla strips that aren't as appetizing as what you might expect. My youngest devoured the kids grilled cheese so that's an A plus! My oldest got the medium buffalo wings and they were a bit too spicy for her taste, but I thought they were good. Lots of meat on the bone and good flavor. I had the strawberry/spinach salad and there was something off putting about the walnuts. They looked glazed but they tasted raw and honestly weird. I love walnuts but they were powdery if that makes sense. Kind of threw the salad off, but the strawberries and spinach were fresh. I LOVED LOVED LOVED the poppy seed dressing, I had no idea I liked that but I will now stock in my house! Our server was very nice but forgot to bring me the beer I ordered and refills were slow, in her defense I down a glass of tea in one swallow and they were really busy. As we were leaving the hostess was very accommodating and really nice. My oldest had to go back in to use the bathroom and she had to wait because two servers were in there occupying the stalls, rumor has it, to do their hair. I wouldn't mention this part at all but it took so long that I went back in to check if she was okay, cerebral palsy and all. So yes a mixed review. My family and I have been coming here since it opened. We even patronized Sauced throughout the pandemic with frequent takeout orders. Sauced has always been a solid three-four star restaurant, but it has progressively declined to the point we will not be coming back anytime soon. The food was pretty good early on, but it has become progressively worse. Hard tenders, dry wings, and not always fresh salads. Fries have always been great. The restaurant is almost always dirty now as well. But the worst decline is in service. Servers and kitchens make mistakes. We understand. However, if I kindly ask you to fix it and you come back with a half-baked effort I believe it's fair that I ask you again to make it right. What I don't expect or deserve is an attitude and eye roll. Particularly in front of my entire family. That was unwarranted, disrespectful and unforgivable. By far, my FAVEEEE wing place ever. I'm an extremely picky eater and usually only a few things on a menu will interest me. Here, at Sauced, I wanted every single flavor. I asked our waitress, who was so kind and amazing at her job I wish I remembered her name, for about 9 sauces. She came back with them quickly, gave me amazing recommendations and all of the sauces were 10/10. I ended up with the cilantro lime and the sticky honey flavor and the wings were the bomb. The fries weren't my favorite, but that's not what I came there for, so I wasn't too upset. Your wings also comes with celery and carrots. You don't have to get bone in, there's strips, and there's boneless. My group also got the chips and queso which was good, but I wish it came with more chips. There wasn't really enough for our big group despite us ordering two and getting extra chips was extra so we declined. Overall, an amazing experience. read more

I realized after hearing that remark at the start of our conversation it was clear I would not find a resolution. After explaining we ordered 15 & 20 piece wings "wet" meaning plenty of sauce (10 medium hot sauce, 10 honey sriracha, 15 sticky garlic) that did not have hardly any sauce on them and shorted 5 sticky garlic wings, it was no surprise to me he refused to see my point of view or empathize. He continued to cut me off so he could somehow convince me that I was wrong. If the wings did actually soak up all this sauce, why was it not saturated with flavor? Why were they dry and had little flavor to them? It's not like I hadn't ordered wings from there many times before for pick up and dine in. Uh, after 4 years of our family and friends supporting this local business I would know the difference. Again, he made no effort to make it right! Owner: You took too long to pick up the wings & the sauce absorbed it. You ordered them at 8:37 pm & picked up at 9:17 pm. It only takes 12 minutes to make. I don't see on your ticket you ordered extra sauce. Me: I ordered "wet" wings & was told by your staff how to avoid it from happening again. it's been a hit n miss dining in or pick up with light to no sauce. I was told 22 mins for pick up & it should not influence the amount of sauce on wings or in container. Owner: I am not going to do anything for you. I'm not going to refund your money. You aren't coming back and you berated my business. Me: So you shorted me on wings and you're not going to refund me my money? I was only asking for the 15 piece be refunded since I was shorted 5 and I didn't get what I ordered on the full order. The Owner: I don't know that my employees didn't put 15 wings in the order! Send me the pictures and maybe we can talk. No, not calling you a liar but I don't that they did that. Me: I sent the pictures of three containers which I will post for you to be the judge on the amount of sauce for the two out of three boxes. Owner: I see we only gave you 10 wings. I am sorry. Refund will be 10 something. (Not the 18.00 that I requested) I thanked him and hung up because at that point I didn't want to argue any further with someone that clearly does not put the customer first or try to make things right! If you look back at past reviews, some of the same type of complaints regarding the lack of sauce and his unprofessional behavior. There seems to be a pattern. You will see I hardly ever write reviews but this continued to happen never once resolved and decided enough was enough. Alright, we have had some rough times with this place, but we have come back and few times and thankfully haven't had issues. We love a good wing bar and no where has beat the food this place offers. The service can be a hit and a miss but we have learned that generally the service was only bad when we sat on the patio (three times we had bad service on the patio...) but things are fairly flawless inside. Bad service aside, the food is EXCELLENT. We live in San Antonio but come to Boerne frequently to swim at the lake, my favorite place in the world! And this place is our go to dinner stop before heading home. Their loaded fries and tots appetizer is so good! And with wings, you really can't go wrong. We love their boneless, crispy outside but still plenty of quality chicken on the inside. I feel like so often when you order boneless they are borderline nuggets, or just terrible quality chicken, but that is not the case here! Generous portions and excellent quality meat! We really love their sticky garlic and peach habanero are our fave sauces but you can't go wrong. We recently got take out amid all this covid-19 craziness. I've been coming to this place for about a year now, my husband and I enjoy it! We've never had a single complaint about the food itself, always comes out fresh, warm, and on par with what our expectations would be. Another amazing thing about this place is the wait staff! They're always very helpful and kind, the hubby and I have grown to loveee the little red head, such a sweet girl. HOWEVER. The other day as we were waiting to be seated, we overheard the conversation between two of the girls at the front. Speaking of the couple sitting at that high table closest to the door, the blonde one says "ugh these people are definitely going to dine and dash" when the other girl laughs and asks why the blonde turns around to look at the couple and goes, "there MEXICANS" the two laughed and went back to playing on their phones. We both were shocked not just by what they had said, but the fact they had completely ignored us!??? Just a simple display of inappropriate behavior, that does not look good on the restaurants behalf!
