Overall disappointing. When my husband and I have dined in, it has been ok but is not a place we go regularly. It has a lot of TVs, so its a good place to watch sports and have a beer. We have ordered food to go more than we have dined in, and something in our order is always incorrect. The first order we got tenders with no sauce, and tonight we got 15 French fries total between 2 meals. When I picked up the order I checked our food because I fully expected them to prepare my wrap incorrectly, which this time they did not. However, the amount of fries given was ridiculous, there were honestly 15 fries total. My husband had a wing combo and was supposed to get a side of fries as well, and he had none. I asked for more, and the young lady taking care of my order quickly and very politely took care of it. What we ended up with was still not what I would have considered enough for even one side, but it wasn't worth the trouble. My wrap was ok and my husband did not like his wings. This is my second time my husband and I have diner at Sauced and it hits the spot! Especially since everything in Boerne closes so early, this place has come to the rescue! They have a wide variety of beer and wine on tap! And their appetizers are unique! We enjoyed the queso de lujo which was a variety of queso, guaco and sour cream with large chunks of grilled chicken chips and pork rinds! Never had that app before anywhere else. The staff have always been friendly and sweet. I love my bone in wings and their wings compare to others, but at least they aren't dinky small- I hate that! And I got their hot flavor and was pleasantly surprised the sauce wasn't the typical franks red hot out the bottle- it was unique and hot indeed! We've been to Sauced several times and it's normally really good. There were six of us and honestly not impressed. Our adult kids ordered nachos and wings to share, I ordered a black and bleu burger(which I have loved in the past). I ordered it medium rare (some pink) and I got a well done patty with a skimpy amount of bleu cheese. The nacho chips tasted burned and the fries- just eh. The wings definitely needed more sauce. We normally have excellent service and this is the first time we've experienced the auto added gratuity (our friends joined us last minute). I normally tip really well, but I feel that because our server knew she was going to get a good tip anyway, she didn't have to do her best. We had to ask twice for drink refills, snagged the runner for more ketchup and mayo, our server never came by to see if things were ok and we were just given our bills without asking if we wanted anything else. Also had to ask for a box for leftovers, so clearly our plates weren't empty before our bill came, which I then felt like we were being rushed out. I honestly understand that times are tough, but it's tough for everyone- I don't like paying a forced 20% tip on barely mediocre service and mediocre food. This review is for Sauced take out. We often eat in here, either at the bar or on the patio. Appreciate that they were open throughout 2020 and 2021 when things got difficult. We know hiring people is challenging, especially for small businesses. We have attempted to always be patient if things took a little longer and understand price increases due to supply chain issues and increasing food costs. Today was our first time using them for takeout, we live about 20 min away and food it better warm. But today we needed to stop in and order something to take home after a really hard day. There is absolutely nothing worse than ordering what you want, paying good hard earned money for your dinner, taking it home -20 min drive - and opening up the box to discover that your order is wrong. No way I'm driving 20 min back there to have them fix it and then 20 min back home again... a 40 min extra round trip w high gas prices because the person taking the order doesn't pay attention. Not the kitchens fault, in reviewing the receipt in the bag the order was not entered correctly by the person taking the order at the counter. Disappointing. Supporting small businesses in Boerne is important to me. However, I should get what I am paying for. Lesson learned that we will not use their take out again.. Wow! This was a terrible experience. Out server, Allison, was incredibly inattentive. We had to flag her down to order. Our pork rinds and queso app took over 15 minutes to get. Oh my. Where to start? Sauced is Boerne's newest addition, and located in the old Cheesy Janes location (so we're already winning). I started with the fried mac and cheese balls. Holy mackerel. They were large and wonderfully gooey and cheesy, unlike the hard dried out fritters offered at other eateries. The wings are large, juicy and meaty, and they are fried naked, no annoying breading, to a nicely drawn crispy skin. I opted for two sauced and one dry rubbed flavor. All were just as good as the next. The flavors were spot on, with just enough to make the wing without overpowering. Service was friendly and attentive, and the beer selection is large. May never return. Under non-pandemic times, I enjoyed Sauced Wing Bar. Good food. Unfortunately this past weekend, my wife & I ventured out to pick up some food from here only to feel threatened by the employees at the cash register. Most all of the wait staff were wearing masks, but not one staff member at the cash register area wore a mask. Only one wore hers under her chin. We came home, dumped our food onto our own dishes, went to take a bath, threw our clothes in the wash, then microwaved our food to hopefully decontaminate it. Forgetting drinks, menu items forgotten, food brought out 10/15 minutes apart, being checked on by our waiter 3 times including the first time getting our drinks and the bill. I pride myself in being reasonable and understanding but this is just not acceptable, especially as someone in the service industry. After the sixth try, I just can't give them any more excuse.
