I thought this place was just okay but that may be more personal preference. The food was ready really quickly. Quality of the shrimp was decent but I didn't prefer the sauces they used so once again may be more so personal preference. The garlic chunks were really but on the garlic butter shrimp and I generally like it better when it better diced or chopped up instead of the entire clove. I like the coconut fried shrimp more than the non fried one. There is seating there which is nice. read more

Placed an order through the website, my fault for leaving a tip prior to picking up our food. The lady working the registered pointed to the table with my order when I told her I was picking up my order (didn't even ask my name). We purchased 3 meals and there was no bag for my boxes when I picked up my order. The garlic shrimp was hardly seasoned and very bland. The spicy shrimp was ok but also very under seasoned. In Hawaii one must order a shrimp plate and this was a solid place to visit. It is situated on the side of shopping center with limited seating and a walk up counter. The garlic shrimp was pretty good. Not as flavorful as others I have tried. The Cole slaw was solid. Portions were a little smaller but kept me going till dinner. read more

Mid experience, wondering if I just ordered the wrong thing. A small hole in the wall place in the shopping plaza that I was excited to try. I ordered the garlic shrimp plate which was labeled as a fan favorite, but honestly, there was nothing really to write home about as I barely tasted anything. The rice mightve been the best part. Also, paying like two dollars extra for them to peel the shrimp seems kind of crazy too. Friendly service though which was nice. This looks like an absolute hole in the wall, but it's delicious! You order right at the door and sit at one of the few tables out front. Everything comes out quickly, and so good. Each plate has quite a few shrimp that you will need to peel yourself unless you request they come already peeled, rice and this delicious and tangy slaw. We were starving and ate everything up very quickly. We got two orders of the fire rock plate, one no ka oi plate, and one aloha plate. I was excited to see a spot that had garlic butter shrimp near our hotel. I was a little skeptical when I read the bad reviews but passed by one afternoon and saw the food looked good. So, we came here one night for dinner and we were do disappointed! We all got some form of non fried shrimp and all the shrimp was clearly from frozen. They were small and mushy. Afterwards, I went over to the women's bathroom... and before I walked in.... the woman who had been at the register, serving the food, went in before me. Dark short hair. Hit and miss! Unfortunately the once great Savage Shrimp Food Truck that started it all is no more. If you're expecting the new restaurant (new owners) to be the same, you'll be disappointed. It is now just average! The service was ok, but the quality varies from day to day depending on who is working. Poor quality control and consistency at best. I went twice because the first time was decent. However, when I went the second time the shrimp was bland and had no garlic butter sauce. I went back and requested some extra sauce and was initially told I would have to pay for it. I was ultimately given extra sauce for no charge. It was still very bland. Go on the weekend if you want the better version of what they have to offer. Still I won't be going back. It's tasty, feels like there are vaguely healthy options, and the price is about as reasonable for the area as it gets. Food is ready quickly and you can sit in their small outdoor area or go to a nice nearby park with an ocean view. The spicy shrimp with pineapple was nice. The slaw was just a pile of cabbage with a glop of some sauce but the sauce was good and you can mix it together yourself. The taco plates are very loaded, so it's hard to eat the tacos as tacos, and we just used forks to eat the shrimp and tomatoes and such. The food wasn't too greasy. We were on the island during Lent and it was a Friday (no meat) so for us, it was time. Located just across the parking lot from Long's Drugs near Lappert's Ice Cream.... Covid protocols were still in place (February 2022) so there was no dine-in. It was strictly take-out but there were a handful of tables just outside the restaurant where people were eating their orders. I went with the fried shrimp & fish plate ($15.50)... It comes with fries, 2 kinds of dipping sauce (tartar & sweet n sour) for the 2 pieces of fried white fish & 5 coconut breaded shrimp. It was good. Even though I could have used another piece of fish, it was a filling portion altogether. The fish was nice & flaky. The shrimp were fresh, big and went great with the sweet n sour dipping sauce. My lady had been wanting a plate of garlic shrimp ($15.50) and finally had it. She was one happy girl. It comes with about 6-7 shell-on fresh garlic seasoned shrimp, 2 scoops of rice and a side salad. It's exactly what she's been wanting from our previous trips and it took our 5th time to the island for her to finally have a garlic shrimp plate. For her it was worth the wait. Service was friendly but the wait was a little long. It was fine, as we werent in a hurry but when the food was finally ready, we were starved...
