I ordered the garlic shrimp. Customer service was great and parking was easy, which I appreciated. However, the food itself was disappointing. The shrimp were overcooked, lacked flavor, and tasted previously frozen. I'm just being honest-especially since I was visiting on vacation. For the price, it definitely wasn't worth it, and I wouldn't recommend this place.

Savage Shrimp Hit the Spot! After some much-needed walking and shopping therapy, hunger kicked in--and Savage Shrimp caught my eye. Spotted garlic shrimp on the menu and immediately thought, "Oooh, like Giovanni's!" Waited a quick 10 minutes, and bam--served hot and ready. Not exactly the same as Giovanni's, but still totally delicious. Packed with flavor and definitely worth the stop. Hit the spot!

In Hawaii one must order a shrimp plate and this was a solid place to visit. It is situated on the side of shopping center with limited seating and a walk up counter. The garlic shrimp was pretty good. Not as flavorful as others I have tried. The Cole slaw was solid. Portions were a little smaller but kept me going till dinner.

Mid experience, wondering if I just ordered the wrong thing. A small hole in the wall place in the shopping plaza that I was excited to try. I ordered the garlic shrimp plate which was labeled as a fan favorite, but honestly, there was nothing really to write home about as I barely tasted anything. The rice mightve been the best part. Also, paying like two dollars extra for them to peel the shrimp seems kind of crazy too. Friendly service though which was nice. Was just kind of dissapointed in my selection, would recommend trying something else.

Ordered the Favorite garlic shrimps and were very disappointed. We didn't taste garlic at all. The salad was the best. Would not recommend that dish.

This is the KALUA PORK w/ salad and rice. I'll let the pictures do the speaking. Is that bbq sauce in there?

BBQ sauce kalua pork with shredded ice berg lettuce. Why is there a lemon? Safer eateries down the road. EDIT: I have diarrhea now eating here.

This looks like an absolute hole in the wall, but it's delicious! You order right at the door and sit at one of the few tables out front. Everything comes out quickly, and so good. Each plate has quite a few shrimp that you will need to peel yourself unless you request they come already peeled, rice and this delicious and tangy slaw. We were starving and ate everything up very quickly. We got two orders of the fire rock plate, one no ka oi plate, and one aloha plate. We also ordered a cheese quesadilla for our 5 year old which wasn't anything special but was eaten up.

I was excited to see a spot that had garlic butter shrimp near our hotel. I was a little skeptical when I read the bad reviews but passed by one afternoon and saw the food looked good. So, we came here one night for dinner and we were do disappointed! We all got some form of non fried shrimp and all the shrimp was clearly from frozen. They were small and mushy. The flavor also didn't permeate the shrimp so you had a bland shrimp swimming in butter. I gave 2 stars because the staff was super friendly.

They are located in the nearby mall nearest to our hotel. I loved their garlic shrimp dishes. We ordered everything above and below the moon on their menu. We got their garlic shrimp dish, curry shrimp, but our favortite was our garlic shrimp tacos! That is a top notch eats.

2.5 stars. Flavor wise the food is actually decent but it was a rip off for the price. The portions are so small and the pineapple curry was slightly disappointing - it just didn't feel like there was that much passion in the cooking.

Food was unoriginal, not enough flavor in the garlic shrimp. Portion size also was not enough for $18. In my opinion overhyped and overpriced. Would not recommend

Savage Shrimp was convenient, affordable, and a solid lunch while shopping. Husband says his fire rock shrimp wasn't that spicy.

They sat us at about 4:35, which was great. The reservation asked us what we were celebrating, if anything. We selected that we were celebrating our anniversary. Upon arrival, they immediately congratulated us on the anniversary. When we were sat at our table, there was a card at the table saying congratulations which was a nice touch. The ambience is very Hawaiian island style, not super upscale but very nice. Good place for a Hawaiian shirt, shorts, and flip-flops. Our server was very prompt, kind, and informative. He also took the time to congratulate us on the anniversary. For an appetizer, we had the Crispy Hoisin Honey Pork Ribs- SO GOOD. The perfect amount of sweet and spicy. Crispy yet tender. Great way to open up. I started with the Makai mule, it was a good island take on a mule. For dinner, my wife had the prime rib with a side of coconut shrimp. It was served with mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts and was very good. For myself, I had the Fillet Steak Kiana, with a lobster tail. It was served with a side of mushroom risotto and brussels sprouts. All of it was good, but the lobster tail was great. The lobster tail was topped with a pesto sauce and it seemed like melted cheese. A surprisingly great combo. With the meal I enjoyed a couple of Mai Tai's, the local style. The Mai Tai was where it was at. Super good. For dessert, they brought us an original hula pie, on the house. It's freaking huge, and very good! It's the only thing I took a picture of. All in all, great service, great ambience, great food. We would come back!

They were good but lacked ube flavor...still really good rolls though Lava Flow - light on alcohol, perfectly sweet, and just an overall delicious drink Garlic Pomme Frites - fried perfectly and held up well and didn't get soggy fast. Nice and crisp, thick cut, garlicky, and definitely a fulfilling appetizer on its own--they give a generous portion Hawaiian Catch - this is their top menu item according to our server and it did not disappoint. If you're a seafood lover, you get to try a little bit of everything--fish, lobster, shrimp, and scallop paired with sweet potato and broccolini. All of the seafood was prepared well, tasted fresh, and didn't have a rubbery texture. Prime Ribeye - cooked perfectly and was seasoned well. Overall, it was a nice juicy steak and I enjoyed the butter on top Molten Chocolate Lava Cake - moist, chocolate-y goodness! Welcoming and friendly service, loved the vibes, and being surrounded in a koi fish lagoon. Reservations are recommended! This is definitely a must-try when in Kauai especially if you're staying at the Grand Hyatt!

Tidepools is absolutely a must-visit! Whether it is for the experience of dining on the water, upscale foods, or kind service, you have to splurge for at least one night on vacation! We had been to Tidepools together a few years ago, pre-kiddo, but this recent time was memorable thanks to the kind wait-staff. They had crayons for our little one, allowed us to walk around and view the fish nearby, and supplied us with delicious and fresh ube rolls, which our toddler loved (so much so that we had to take her actual kid's meal to-go). I ordered the Tai Chi, which is their version of the Mai Tai, and it was solid - great balance, and I almost ordered another one, but our little one was tired. To eat we got an appetizer of scallops, which was amazing - slightly sweet crust and juicy inside. My main dish was the ribeye, which was tender, cooked to my liking, and larger than I expected. Overall our best meal thus far during our Kauai trip, and if I had the income, would definitely eat here more than once per trip!

Request a table near the windows for a sunset view. We arrived and were greeted and seated immediately. Shortly afterwards we were served complementary spicy edamame. We ordered three appetizers to share. Brussel Sprouts & Cauliflower, Black Garlic & Yuzu Ahi Tartar and Vietnamese Style Sashimi. The Brussel Sprouts & Cauliflower was excellent, golden raisins and pine nuts add sweetness and texture, balsamic vinegar counters with wonderful acid contrast. The Black Garlic & Yuzu Ahi Tartar is simply fabulous, one of the best bites I have ever had. I first had this dish two years ago when it was introduced as a new dish in a prefix meal. On that trip we returned to enjoy the dish once again. Had it again last year as I travel to Kauai each year. I'm happy to see it is still on the menu! Our third dish was the Vietnamese Style Sashimi and it was okay, although a bit underwhelming for Eating House standards. It was fresh but lack the complexity that I have grown to expect from this restaurant. We requested some wasabi and it helped with the flavors. My thinking is the jalapeño oil should have been more concentrated or pronounced. To be clear I did not complain, regardless the dish was removed from our bill. Very nice. Thank you. The front desk staff guided me to the elevator. This trip was for my birthday. In every reservation when asked about a special occasion, I put birthday. This was the first restaurant to acknowledge my special day. The check-in staff wished me well as did the server. We had been to several restaurants prior to Eating House that didn't say a word. Kudos to the staff for its kindness. The restaurant is open air and very comfortable. It has a rustic feel. We were seated by the window on a cool, rainy night but were perfectly dry the whole evening. On top of that, our server was very helpful in guiding us to order the right amount of food. He brought us a serving of edamame which is always on the house. The shrimp & pork potstickers were very good. I had the ramen which was tasty, filling and a great choice. Our server was terrific to put the spicy oil on the side which made it easier for me to eat. My husband had the butterfish which is the best I have ever tasted. It is a signature dish and always a pleaser. The only real downside is the limited menu. We were told that because of a staff shortage, it wasn't the typical menu. This was disappointing. But they did have the best of the Roy's dishes. So far, it has been the best experience that we have had in Poipu.
