My boyfriend ordered me a cake for my birthday, which is 6 days before Halloween. He called and told them to do whatever they wanted as long as it was a Halloween themed cake, and we were blown away! You can tell the decorator had so much fun making this cake. It tasted yummy too!!

This is my go to neighborhood store. The staff here are the best and are really friendly. They get to know you after a few times. I agree that the bakery and seafood section might not be the best around but I go elsewhere for that.

From the moment you walk in, there is a sense that baking here is not just a craft -- it is an art form. There is something magical about stepping into a French bakery, and Parisien Bakery delivers that feeling in full. The French have elevated baking into a cultural experience of indulgence and beauty, and it is on proud display here. Approach the glass case, and it feels like browsing a gallery of edible masterpieces: pastel-colored macarons stacked like delicate jewels, glossy fruit tarts shimmering under the lights, and éclairs lined up with precise elegance, each filled with silky, decadent cream. Sweet Highlights The sweet selections are where Parisien truly shines. Standouts include: Sweet crêpes Éclairs Macarons Croissants Maple cronut Fruit tarts Turnovers Each item showcases careful craftsmanship, balanced sweetness, and visual presentation that rivals high-end patisseries. Their French Roast coffee is bold, robust, full-flavored, and always piping hot -- the perfect companion to any pastry. Savory Options On the savory side, the breakfast sandwiches, omelet croissants, breakfast popper, and the Parisien sandwich are all solid and satisfying choices. While well-prepared, they do not quite reach the same magical heights as the sweet offerings. The croque monsieur and croque madame are especially intriguing and worth trying on a future visit. Atmosphere & Experience The ambiance is cozy and charming, laid out to be reminiscent of a sidewalk café in Paris. With both indoor and outdoor seating -- including street-side dining -- it is an inviting place to linger. A glassed-in kitchen allows guests to watch pastries being crafted in real time, adding a layer of authenticity and appreciation for the skill behind each creation. Warm, friendly service rounds out the experience, making it easy to see why this bakery remains a local favorite. Parisien Bakery is not just a place to grab breakfast or dessert -- it is a small escape into French culinary artistry right in the heart of Old Town Clovis.

The coffee here isn't as flavorful as Chez Maryse either but I did like that there's more vegetarian options, the prices are decent, and food not too greasy. While I was too stuffed for dessert, I was told that desserts are tasty. It's not a big place so on a cold day there are very few tables inside. But it's still a decent place for brunch while exploring Downtown Clovis and just across the street from the most bomb antique shop :)

Panaderia Cafe Oaxaca is the real thing. the pastries are made fresh and you can tell immediately. the conchas were soft with just the right amount of sweetness, the kind that makes the grocery store version feel embarrassing by comparison. everything in the case looked beautiful and I had a genuinely hard time choosing. they also do vegan options which I wasn't expecting from a traditional panaderia and my friend who doesn't eat dairy was really happy about that. nice to find a spot that doesn't make it feel like an afterthought. the cafe side means you can grab coffee and actually sit and enjoy your stuff which I love. opens at 7am so its a real morning spot, closes at 3pm so plan accordingly. its on Villa Ave in Clovis which is easy to get to and the price is so reasonable. like embarrassingly affordable for how good everything is. this is the kind of neighborhood spot that deserves way more attention than it probably gets. tell your friends, bring your family, buy too much pan dulce. no regrets.

My dad made these for me as a kid and anytime I see them in the wild, I have to try it. The bierocks made were just ok. The pastry is great, but the filling was a little bland and way too heavy on the cabbage. But what the bierocks lacked, the donuts made up for by a million! We ordered a cruller, maple, glazed, old-fashioned, a glazed twist, and a chocolate cake doughnut. Just based off our order, you can tell there were no children with us, lol. The cruller donut was perfection. Airy and super soft with it almost melting in your mouth before the first bite. The old-fashioned donut (which are my favorite) was incredible! It was surprisingly light, for a cake doughnut, and had a thick layer of maple glaze. I think the layer was about an eighth of an inch, which for icing is bonkers. Even Peter North himself would be humbled by this glazing technique. Is this the most unassuming donut shop in all of the land? Maybe not the land, but at least in Clovis. They both ended up loving it as much as I did. I looove their salad dressing and the La Crepe Poulet Provencal had a really herb-y and fragrant chicken and eggplant which made it taste so unique and delish!! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming both times we came. One thing I really appreciated was seeing the managers out on the floor helping serve customers instead of just staying behind the scenes. It made the whole place feel really warm and personal. I'm already looking forward to bringing more of my friends and family here. We could wait on the patio, which was cozy and had sun umbrellas which were great since... It's hot and sunny today! The ambiance is a French album and the screens show ai-generated Paris (you can tell because the tree and plants "shift" but the shadows are static - dead giveaway). The food was great and decently priced. She ordered an iced coffee, I got the iced Americano. I ordered "dads breakfast" (French toast!) and she ordered the crossan'wich. Both were great. Parking is simple in the same lot - there's only a couple of covered spots though. The space is huge - the restaurant spans at least three storefronts. Service was generally decent and fast, given how busy it was.

The bakery is located in a shopping plaza at Shaw and it looks like one of those high-end places in Fresno. So we found a bakery, which was at that time for people dining inside and outside because they do have brunch menu. luckily we're able to find that there's a separate line for the bakery items and the line, although ling, was quick when it was our turn. We had difficulty choosing which cakes to get but we were able to ask around what are the recommendations we were able to get their top selling cake which is a vanilla cake that has fruit compote in the middle and fruits as decoration. I think it was around $47 for this particular cake. When we got home, it kept well when we had our birthday celebration. We didn't have to put it back in the fridge. By the time we got to eating the cake. It was perfectly thawed and surprisingly delicious. It was moist and full of the fruit compote - they did not skimp on the fruit. It was lovely and highly recommended. When I come back to Fresno, I'd probably try their brunch items. Four stars for their cake.
