I've been coming here for almost a year, at least once a week. I always order different things but I never leave without getting an italiano sandwich. The bread that they use is so light, fluffy and flavorful, it taste amazing fresh or the next day. Every time I stop by the service is always amazing and everyone is so sweet and helpful. The ambiance feels so cozy and welcoming. I took my mom here yesterday (she's only ever tried the pizzas) and I told her that she has to try the Italiano sandwich. She tried it the next day and was blown away and now she understands why I come once a week for this sandwich. It's been a long time since I've had a sandwich that feels nostalgic but also doesn't feel heavy or get soggy fast. I want to say thank you to the amazing owner and staff for making each visit amazing. Everything pictured is what I got for $105

First time visiting Saverio's Pizzeria ( I'm not a big fan of pizza) however, i offered to take the other half out for lunch, and he actually would live on pizza if he could, so he chose Saverio's. It was super busy. The lunch time rush, i guess. Decor was distinctly Italian vibe - and opera music to go along with it. There was a selection of pizza by the slice on display, and a menu, offering other options of salads and pastas. I opted for Mannicotti, which apparently came with garlic bread too. Our order took ages, to the point that husband went back to the counter thinking they'd forgotten us. They had not, they were working on it. We had just hit on lunch hour rush. Napkins aren't provided, but there's a wave-your-hand-underneath paper towel dispenser, over by the water urn, and knives and forks, Parmesan shaker, red pepper flakes. My manicotti was brought out, piping hot, and his 2 slices of pizza (he got meat lovers, and a spinach, and garlic thin crust one) I had to wait for the manicotti to cool somewhat before i could take a bite. The filling was cheese. With cheese on top and a marinara sauce. I'd hoped there'd be meat, but serves me right for not checking. I should have gotten Cannelloni or lasagne. I was not especially enthusiastic about it, other than the pasta was well cooked. The marinara tasted fresh and home made too, but it was just a very one note dish to me. The garlic bread - really not my thing at all. I love garlic bread, but i like it made with a fresh French baguette, fresh chopped garlic, butter, olive oil, and some herbs - maybe a sprinkle of chopped basil (how i make it) These were like triangular shaped scones, not at all bready, and lacking in garlic. I ate one, with marinara on them to liven them up. I wouldn't get manicotti again. Husband really enjoyed his meat lover's slice, and wolfed it down. I had taken a bite of the spinach garlic slice, and there was a humongous amount of freshly chopped garlic on it. Don't get me wrong I LOVE garlic, there was also something spicy on there, and i enjoyed my bite, but unfortunately as i get older, my stomach is getting more and more rebellious with the amount of garlic my mouth likes to consume. I'd have loved another couple of bites, however, i could see areas of this slice, that were liberally coated with garlic, so i stayed away from those parts, and chose another bite from an area with a lesser amount of garlic. I liked that slice but couldn't have eaten it all due to my gastric issues. He took one bite and said it was inedible. I'm sure there are items on the menu that i would have liked, but i wasn't keen on my manicotti today. I don't like to leave bad reviews, and it would not stop me coming back to try something else.

The workers are kind, gave my son a slice of cheese instead of throwing it away. They did not have to do that. The pizza is yummy and I can't wait to try more of the flavors they have. I love the Italian music they play,it creates a better atmosphere.

The staff are always friendly and polite. Today I had a slice of pepperoni and it's was delicious, the undercarriage was crisp just like I like it and the crust was great and had that crunch when you took a bite. The only thing I can say that I didn't like was the grease that was on top of the pizza. I had to use a few napkins to soak it up. I would definitely recommend this place and I myself will come back again. read more

Every time I've been to Saverio's the atmosphere has been pleasant and the pizza top notch. I'm more than sure anyone would love this place because their pizza pies are the second best in Anchorage with Moose's Tooth being slightly ahead, although the atmosphere at Saverio's is definitely better. read more

This was our first time trying Saverio's Pizza and it did not disappoint. We ordered pick up so we could savor the pizza at home and it was delicious! We chose the Mediterranean Salad, which had a perfect dressing, they even separated the tomatoes and onions for me! We were craving cheese so when we read about the 4 Formaggi and added Italian Sausage to it. It was the perfect choice! Went to Saverios after hearing so many people talking about how great it is. Coming through the door you are greeted with the amazing smell of pizza. The room was pleasantly buzzing with happy conversations and Frank Sinatra music. There wasnt anything crazy or mind blowing about the food. Overall it was very simple and tasty. The server was nice and attentive. Beer/wine selection is a little expensive typical of Anchorage though. I think we paid about 27$ for 4 beers. The italiano sandwich seemed pretty big for 8.99 .The veggies and dressing balanced the meat and bread nicely. All in all I really like this place! I cant tell if I like Mooses Tooth pizza more or Saverios. This tastes like authentic Italian pizza. read more

Great pizza place - love the "by the slice" option. It seems like they rotate flavors and so far everything has been fresh and flavorful. Classic pepperoni, Margherita, and Formaggi were delish. Also enjoyed the meatball app. The staff is super friendly and the owner is always there making his delicious pizzas. Really appreciate the food and welcoming atmosphere. Forget Moose's Tooth and get over here for a slice. read more

If you like thin crust pizza this place is delicious! The topping selection is a little limited but I'd probably order again. It was a nice change from the usual places in town. Not too greasy, rich tasting sauce and just enough cheese. read more

This place is pretty great. Situated right in the heart of midtown, I believe it's the only restaurant apart from Moose's Tooth and the downtown Uncle Joe's that offers single slices of pizza. Saverio's offers more along the lines of East coast style pizzas whereas places like MT are closer to California/West coast style. So simplicity is key. You're not gonna find any outlandish topping combinations here. What you'll find are high quality ingredients and a handful of Italian specialties that make this place stand out. I ordered two different kinds of pizza--one sausage and pepper and a stuffed meat lovers. The sausage was pretty killer in that it was boldly flavored and cut along the length of the link before being split into segments, allowing for more browning on the surface area. The peppers were contrastingly sweet and juicy. As for the other slice, I was impressed by the ladleful of tomato sauce that was smothered onto the thick wedge of meat, cheese and dough. Their sauce is definitely a high point here, lending a perfect balance between sweet and savory. I don't have much else to say other than it being a solid experience all around. The service is good and it'd be cool to see more pizza varieties as time goes on. I'd love to try their lasagna sometime as well. If you love pizza (and honestly, who doesn't?), you owe it to yourself to at least try this place out. read more

Lived in anchorage for years and never ate here until now. I honestly thought the pizza was alright but not amazing. Also got manicotti and the cheese in the middle should mozzarella but thats just me ‍ ricotta was alright. Great decor and super friendly staff! read more

So I think we all know who rules the pizza world in Alaska but if you're looking for authentic Italian pizza this is your place. The pizza here is absolutely DIVINE, the garlic knots are bene which is Italian for good but star of show is the lasagne, the sauce is perfect and the noodles are soft just like in Italy. If you want to know how to good this place is let's just say that my friend was stealing my pizza . I've had pizza at all the heavy hitters, Domino's, Pizza Hut, Shakey's and the Mecca Great Alaskan Pizza company. This place tops them all.The owner is a gregarious guy who dotes oil on everything, he's Neapolitan and let's be honest Neapolitans are the nicest people in Italy. I'll definitely be back to this bene place. read more

Saverio' pizzeria! The hidden jewel in the metro mall. I've been by 100 times b4 and never stopped in, and gotta say I've been missing out! Pizza by the slice done right! The only thing I would change would be how they had the pizza sitting out without a heat lamp. But no worries, they put it in the oven and heat it to perfection for you :). So now for the pizza review. One word. Delicious! Perfect amount of cheese on top of perfectly crusted crust with a soft chewable center! Mouth watering, and a marinara sauce I could could drink from a glass!! I for one am glad I have finally found a pizza by the slice worth stopping in for. I can't wait to try the rest of their menu, but for by the slice in anchorage Herve got my vote hands down! read more

They are located in Metro mall where taste of italy was. I am not one who usually orders a veggie pizza but i saw the special slice today of broccoli and roasted tomatoes, i just had to try. It was delicious. Came with a small side of sauce if u wanted to add to your pizza. I used that bad boy up dipping my pizza crust. Also added a small salad and soda for 2.99 extra. Special pizza slices are 4.95. Not a bad price at all. They have about 5 pies to choose from. 1 or 2 topping or stuffed pizza, cheese..You get the idea. Order slice and they put in oven so crust comes out crispy and cheese melty. Other items where sandwiches and pasta and whole pies. I am definitely going back to order a clam casino pie. Nice place in the inside and staff was just as nice and answered all my questions. Saverios will be on my lunch rotations for the work weeks. read more

Amazing small family ran Italian pizzeria. Where you can get pizza by the slice without having to go downtown. They also have lots of great Italian food outside of pizza. Their sausage roll is to die for. Another reason I love coming here is the music, they always have some sort of jazz or classical and it just makes eating there that much better. The owner is one of the nicest people I've ever met, I highly recommend coming here to anybody looking for some great pizza/Italian food. read more

For me, this is one of the bests pizzas here in Anchorage that I've tried. The consistency of the cheese, the amount and flavor of the sauce, is just perfect. The crust was super yummy, tender, but just enough chew to hold up well. Outstanding dough recipe. Their sauce was not too spicy but tasty and clearly homemade. Not to mention they serve slices if you need a quick bite. I would come back to order and try the others. read more

Absolutely dialed! Crust was smoky and delightful. I actually had flashbacks of pizza I had when I was in Verona, Italy. Staff was unbelievable friendly. Family-feel. Hope they experience the patronage they deserve. This will be my regular stop for a get-out-of-the-bustle-and-relax slice of fine pizza. Possible the best sauce on a pizza I have had in years.
