This review may be my second or third review in my entirety of having Yelp. So, let me get to the point. Savory Pho is phenomenal. Admittedly, the pho is good as any and the atmosphere is inviting, but the service, especially by Aimee is spectacular. Aimee is a natural people person. She can read a person's vibe. She can be personable but distant if you need your space or engaging if you like to chat. Mostly though, Aimee gives you the old school welcoming feeling that one used to get decades ago when serving and service was just as ok important as the food. Right now, pho places are a dime a dozen in the valley. Sure, there are nice spots a plenty buy for my money Savory and Aimee will be my new regular go to spot. read more

I love this pho place. Their broth has a very clean taste and I liked it. There was a lot of meat, including meat balls! I got house special to be delivered when i was sick, everything was packed nice and fresh. Today, I tried their pho ga ( chicken pho) in which I loved the broth and fried sharlot and lightness more than their regular pho. It was savory. I loved pho ga more than house pho. Other days, I ordered cranchy deep-fried shrimp, and literally, I could eat the whole head to the tail of the shrimp because they were deep-fried well. Was so yummy! Next time, I'll try their bun bo hue since its my go to and Vietnamese crepe. If they have Bún riêu that would be nice Service was quick, servers were nice, place was well maintained and clean! read more

Such a great place in Porter Ranch. Can tell the place takes a lot of pride in their food and restaurant. - Food was excellent (house pho) and combination fried rice. The pho came out quickly with great selection of meats, tripe, tendon and fresh Thai basil and bean sprouts. The broth could be punchi but I give any new pho place a few months for that to become perfection. All tables have the sauces and pickled jalapeños in a little caddy for easy access. The fried rice had great wok hei flavors with canto styles sausage, shrimp, and char siu pork bits. - service was prompt and professional and the staff are working hard! - easy strip mall parking, clean and comfortable interior - nearby to bubble tea and donut shop for some sweets ;) read more

Nice to see Savory expanded their menu with more authentic selections, unfortunately their chefs are inconsistent. Bo Kho beef stew that tastes like flavored water, spring rolls without the essential chive herb, beef short rib pho with a rib that is still tough and only 1 rib bone when all other pho restaurants give 2 at the $18 price point, Banh Khot savory pancakes that are soggy not crispy. Porter Ranch deserves authentic Vietnamese food not this food lacking Vietnamese flavor or basic care. Take note from your next door neighbor. read more

Food is delicious and no less authentic than other Vietnamese Pho I had experience. Service is friendly and attentive. Our server came to check on us with a smile several times during our meal to ask if we need anything else. We stayed for another hour after and the server kept filling our glasses with water. So glad that we went here to try it out. I had the Bun Bo Hue and my Wife had the Bo Kho. Both so good! This place is great and so happy there is a pho place in this part of the valley. Some of the best Vietnamese pho I've had in a while. Came up from San Diego and stopped by to find this newly decorated restaurant and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and great atmosphere. Had the shaking beef and chicken pho and it was wonderful! The Vietnamese coffee is strong and flavorful. This place is clean, has good service, inviting ambiance and the price was affordable. 5/5 will come again when visiting LA. read more

Horrible service (almost insulting)! Took my boy here for dinner this evening, sat down for a long while without any service. Restaurant was not busy at all and they have three waiters. While two of them brought plates, utensils and menu to my neighboring table over couple trips, my son and I were invisible to them. They didn't bring us anything not even the menu or said anything like "sorry please give me a minute..." as if we did not exist. After a long while, we got up and ready to leave. Was in desperate need for some pho since I was sick and this place is right across the street from me walking distance so I had to try it. I ordered a standard pho to go and it was pretty good. I always fear when pho doesn't taste good unless it's served fresh, but their pho still held up and I was able to enjoy it at the comfort of my own home. Went with my nephew to check out this new Pho spot near my parent's house in Porter Ranch. 12 yr old Nephew's first words were wow this place looks super nice! We came off peak hours a bit after lunch so service was not an issue. Food came out promptly and our waiter was great. Ordered the Shrimp Spring Rolls that came with a savory peanut sauce. Got my crazy picky nephew to try the Grilled Pork from my Vermicelli noodle bowl and he asked for seconds. Also had the Shaking Beef which was tender and buttery. Review is for 10/4 dinner. Our 1st time at Savory Pho (we were sad to see Pagoda Inn- our go to family-owned Chinese restaurant leave after so many years in Porter Ranch but was excited to try Savory Pho in its place). Restaurant was bright, airy and clean. Service was fast and friendly. We ordered the Crispy Marinated Chicken and Create Your Own Vermicelli (choice of 3 proteins: grilled pork, grilled beef and an eggroll). The vermicelli bowl came out quickly (within 5 minutes). The eggroll was crispy and had a good amount of the ground pork mixture inside the roll. The grilled pork and grilled beef were flavorful and moist (not dried out). The only downside was that the noodle:lettuce/veggies:protein ratio was about 2:1:1 with an overabundance of vermicelli noodles, a good handful of fresh lettuce/veggies and a palm-size amount of pork/beef. It was way too much carb overload with all of the noodles. But the amount of protein was good enough for me (it might not be enough meat for meat lovers!). The chicken dish took about 20 minutes to make its way to our table (I had to ask one of the servers to check on it since it was taking a long time and I had already finished my meal while my husband had to wait for the chicken. I'm not sure if this is the usual cook time for the chicken or something fell through the cracks, as if usually doesn't take this long at other Vietnamese restaurants). However, when it did arrive, the chicken was freshly cooked, hot, juicy and moist. The skin was crisp. The chicken dish came with rice and a bowl of clear broth (beef broth?). Food: 5 stars (fresh, high quality, tasty food) Service: 4.5 stars (knocked a 1/2 star off due to the long wait on the chicken dish) Price: 4 stars (we felt it was a bit overpriced for Vietnamese food ($15 for each dish, probably because the restaurant is located in Porter Ranch) We will most likely come back and try the Pho and will update my review then. read more

Best Pho in SoCal. We only eat Pho at their restaurant since they use real beef broth and not made out of powder or prepackaged mixtures. The service is above and beyond -- the owner of the restaurant will come out and greet everyone and ask how everything is tasting no matter how busy it gets. My review is long overdue, but I have to say, this restaurant is great. I order from here often, and while my go-to is the garden salad with beef, I've also tried several other dishes, like the pho with tripe and tendon, shrimp spring rolls, egg rolls, shaken beef, and Vietnamese pancakes - all of which have been absolutely delicious. My son is a big fan of their chicken wings with a side of rice. The customer service is excellent, and every staff member is incredibly friendly. Eaten here at least half a dozen times since opening. Overall the food isn't bad, but lacks the deep flavor profile you expect from Vietnamese cuisine. I was disappointed because Pho 999 has been a solid choice in the valley for a long time. I was wondering why they made this location a Savory Pho instead of a Pho 999 and I think I figured it out...
