Probably the best Mexican restaurant in the Potranco & 151 area. Not my favorite place when it comes to service but it's not the worst. Overall I always leave satisfied with my meal and the taste of everything. The only thing I would recommend for the waiters is to be more attentive to the guests. Not Mexican food!!! It's Tex mex of some sort. Got a "chalupa"- expected a traditional thick tortilla base... for a tostada with yellow cheese. Huevos rancheros? Absolutely disgusting. The pork had no flavor. Now the chilaquiles- more like badly seasoned and oil drenched nachos. Chilaquiles are lightly fried tortillas covered in either green or red salsa and white cheese. This place has really good breakfast tacos! For the price and the food, it can't be beat! The food tastes fresh and the tortillas are all homemade. There is a huge selection of different breakfast plates, variety of tacos, & even offer pancakes & oatmeal for those who do not want the other breakfast options. Parking is pretty open unless it's on a Saturday morning before 11:30. Then it can get packed cause it's a shared parking lot within the Plaza building. Prices: The prices are pretty decent for the food. Service: Always did TO-GO orders so I can't really comment on the service but the host at the front is nice and helpful. We have been coming here for years and we love it. As this restaurant grows they have definitely created loyalty this place gets packed Saturday and Sunday but always worth the wait. The place always has pretty colored local art to check out. The atmosphere is loud but home like. Customer service is fast and they are really courtesy. I love the prices. This place is great and as a yelped you should try. You seat yourself. The staff is always friendly. I've had breakfast and lunch there. They close at 3 pm so keep that in mind. The food is made to order and comes out hot. The prices are great. The tortilla soup and flauta lunch special is a must try. So dissapointed! I finally got to try this restaurant today. Have been begging my son to take me there for last 2 weeks....every since I noticed the new location on Potranco Rd. I went in there with huge expectations. Huge dining areas with nice murals on the walls. Parking outside was limited and cramped. Our waitress was nice lady. My son and I both ordered "Javi's special" since it seemed to have some variety to it. For additional amount we both upgraded the cheese enchiladas to beef. We were given a choice of fajitas or carne guisada which also came with our plates. I chose beef fajitas and my son chose the carne guisada. Chips and salsa was brought to our table. Here goes....chips were stale and cold and salsa was watered down and TOTALLY lacking of ANY flavor except for a distinct "kick" as an after effect. I started to get worried about the food but looked around the room and saw a few people eating at their tables. Plates were delivered with luke warm food(that was ok) but they looked really good upon presentation. Tortillas were nice and soft and immidiatley grabbed on to make myself a little fajita taco. UGHhhhhh was my reaction upon the first bite. Meat had a bad aftertaste that even the onions and bell peppers could not camouflage. Just really bad and tough to chew.....and then i ran into a big peice of gristle that was part of the meat! I could not swallow that. Ate the enchiladas which looked good but were totally without flavor. NOTHING on my plate had a hint of comino or any kind of spices. I asked my son..how's your food? He said "Mom, know you really wanted to come here but this food has no flavor to it whatsoever. He put a small chunk of carne guisada on my plate so i could try it. We paid almost thirty dollars for this "lunch special" and it was really awful. Beautiful restaurant with limited parking and terrible food. A 'watered down" taste to everything! This owner has a great location and really needs to invest into bringing in some cooks that KNOW how to cook Mexican food or this place will eventually sink and that too bad. read more

The ratings for this restaurant are too generous in my opinion. I ordered the "award winning" tortilla soup and a chicken fajita plate. The tortilla soup was incredibly disappointing and super watery. The soup was bland and greasy; I'm not sure how or why this soup was awarded. The wait for our food was very long. The chicken fajita plate came with guacamole, chopped lettuce (which the menu called salad), and beans. The guacamole looked store bought and tasted bland. The portion of guacamole was a tiny spoonful. My chicken wasn't even warm and the meat looked like cheap quality odd cuts of dark meat. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

We had a delicious breakfast of huge pancakes, eggs, bacon, breakfast tacos waiting for us right on time. It's a family based restaurant and you can definitely feel the warm welcoming and service when you are here! It's honestly the main reason i come!! They always remember my husband's name and greet us with open arms when we arrive! It's nice to be remembered. Now, we aren't special or anything! This is how all guests are treated... especially if they return!! The food is delicious! We always get breakfast tacos but we've come on occasion for lunch. The food is good and feels home cooked! Went to Sazon because my wife said it was a great place with great tortillas, well it started off bad and finished bad. I will never go back. The server was not a pleasant lady. Our food came out one at a time. My daughter in laws food came out like 15 minutes after everyone else's. Her food was soggy and not hot. My food was not to tasty and talked to the sister of the owner. Her expression was like what do you mean. My food tasted like it had been sitting at the bottom of the hot pan all day. She went and talked to the owner- her brother, he came and talked to us and was like sorry you did not like it but everyone else thinks it's the best. After that our server never came back. Menudo was awesome! A bit too much hominy for me but it was delicious. Came with a barbacoa taco and a drink as a meal which was equally as good! This was a thoughtful establishment. Everything in the restaurant was functional. The decor was nice and simple. Clean and organized, despite their busy lunch. The menudo was amazing and the chips were delicious. I rate my Mexican food based on their fried beans. The beans were cooked perfectly, you can taste the lardon in the beans.
