Moved to South side. So don't go as often as I did. But this is the best Mexican food on Northside. Everything I have tried is awesome.

Sazon never fails. The price along with the amount of food, always brings me back to enjoy more. The waitstaff are very friendly, and answer any questions you have. They also follow through any requests that you may have concerning your order. The only thing I wish they had more of is seating, but that's only due to the location of their restaurant. Hubby and I had lunch here today, so good! Tea was NOT good but I got the Javie plate..2 cheese enchiladas with carne gusaida...he got the plate with enchilada and puffy taco...Taco was huge and looked so good, he really liked it. This restaurant is the real deal. Best mole enchiladas I have ever had in Texas. I'm from Fort Worth and was visiting San Antonio for the weekend. Looked at places to eat close to my hotel and saw Sazon. It had good reviews, so I had to check it out. Staff was friendly and atmosphere was chill. It seemed like a locals kind of place. The corn tortillas that came with my plate were homemade and my palette could tell. If you are staying at the Hyatt resort on the west side of the city, come check this spot out. I'm sad to say today was an awful experience the only reason I'm giving two stars is because nothing was wrong with the food. We were constantly being rushed and scolded. It was embarrassing and uncomfortable from start to finish. The first instance was before I arrived my four siblings had asked for a table of five and the women in red who was seating people was getting upset about having to seat the five of us in a large table, to an extent I understand not sitting a table till the party arrives but to sit a table and then keep passing by and getting upset with the table. Through the whole meal we felt very rushed which was unfortunate since I don't get to see my sister and catch up with them very often. We finished eating but i wanted to finish my conversation and we couldn't the lady in red was just staring at us and getting upset. I just wanted to hear about my sister getting into utsa but they just kept watching us and rushing they rushed us to pay too and normally when you sign and tip you leave that recipe on the table and when you leave the server will come pick up the ticket. But even the server grabbed the ticket from my sister after she signed. They made it clear and uncomfortable that they wanted us gone. read more

I've never been to a "Mexican restaurant " in San Antonio and received chunks of fat in my chorizo and egg taco. The tortillas were not that great and the papas mexicanas were under cooked. The bean and cheese was dry, I think the over cooked them when reheating. It's hard to find good Mexican food on this side of town. read more

Came here for a quick lunch... We told the waitress we had only 30 minutes, needed to order right away and what she suggested would be the quickest. The enchiladas were superb as well as the tortillas. I wish I had gotten her name but she was awesome! We will definitely be back. read more

We found this place of Yelp and I'm so glad we did. Food is excellent! Hubby ordered a chori-quile taco, a barbacoa taco and a crispy tripas taco. He said they were all very good. My mom ordered puffy taco plate and I ordered the flauta and enchilada combo plate. Everything we ordered was on point. Great hot sauce. Homemade tortillas. It was busy but it did not take long to get our food. This place will definitely go on our favorite places to eat list. read more

My husband & I tried this place for the first time today. We got some breakfast tacos to go. Overall we enjoyed them but I was very disappointed in my bacon & egg taco. It was full of bacon fat with one small piece of bacon. (See picture) for $1.49 they could at least make sure they are putting edible bacon in it. Been here a few times and every time it took at least over 20 minutes for the food to be served. I am dumbfounded at all the posts about the food being served quickly because it wasn't the case for us. Two times, we got hard charro beans. Not impressed at all. Won't be back. read more

So we tried to eat at this restaurant and the owner/manager refused to allow us in the restaurant. She told us that we aren't allowed in without a mask. I don't have a problem with wearing a mask and following rules but she allowed 6 people in before us without a mask! How did the rules change in 10 seconds!! The mask was only required to walk in the door and to a table, then we could take the masks off. We left frustrated and hungry, we won't be back to this location in SA again. read more

I've been going to Sazon since I went to Stevens High School, just across the road. It's been about 8 years since I graduated and I still go. The food quality hasn't changed. It's a family atmosphere (literally owned by a family, they're super friendly!) From the breakfast food to the soups, everything is fantastic. The corn and flour tortillas are home made! I have our a 4 star because they don't offer lemons only limes and the wait is pretty long and the tables are really close together. The chips weren't the best but they are complimentary. I recommend the Crudo: menudo, a barbecue taco and a drink. The menudo is the best. read more

Terrible service. If you place a call in order in hopes of getting in and out your still going to have to wait. If you dine it it takes about 30 minutes after you order to get your meal even if it's something simple like soup or tacos. Menudo broth is good but hardly any meat or hominy. Hire good quality people who have a sense of urgency and actually value the customer. This restaurant could triple in revenue if they got abeulita out of the kitchen. read more

The Absolute worst service I've ever received! I regrettably went here with high hopes based on fellow Yelp reviews, but I was let down in a major way. We walked in, without greeting, awkwardly had to approach the cashier and ask if we away ourselves. As we waited for our server for 5 minutes we were asked our drink orders. 5 minutes later we receive our waters, all the while I'm realizing every other table has chips and salsa to indulge in while waiting for the entrees. I ask our waitress( or 3 server) if we have to ask for chips and salsa cause we never received any, which she replies, "oh, no... Yea sorry." About 3 minutes later we get our beloved chips and entree soon after, of which was luke warm and sub par. All in all. Don't waste your time, please, I beg of you. Me and my wife came here to eat some Mexican style food and let me tell you. Pretty dang good, but that wasn't the best part. The best part was the actual service we got from our waitress Ary. The chips and salsa was good! But our waitress seemed to have a problem with my brother and me. She was servicing everyone else well, but never came to check on us. I had two tacos a bean and cheese which was good and a potatoes, cheese and bacon. That one wasn't the greatest and I do not recommend it, there was hardly any flavor to it. My brother had the same but he added a barbacoba taco and he said it was just OK. Needless to say we will not be coming back. The service was bad and the food was definitely not worth it. read more

Everyone raves about migas. I searched and wanted to try this notorious dish. Unfortunately, this was the worst mexican food I have ever had in my life! For appetizer, I got the queso dip and out came a watery cheese dip that tasted straight from the can. It was terrible. My dish, migas, was bland and not worth the money. I had to put the table salsa to give it flavor. Then, my mom ordered puffy tacos, the tacos were greasy and dripped oil in every bite. I heard so many great reviews but this was terrible.
