The historic brick interior and multiple seating areas invites one to curl up & read in a cozy chair by the fireplace, sit & chat at one of the wooden tables downstairs or upstairs, or hunker down to get some work done. I was immediately welcomed by staff upon arriving and our batista, Ellie, who took our order, was friendly, good humored, and professional ( she didn't eye roll when my husband actually asked what a " mocha" hot chocolate was!). Ellie offered to take our order upstairs where we planned to sit. The staff all seemed to enjoy one another, which is always a plus for me; patrons are affected by staff attitude! My husband " loved" his hot chocolate mocha, another family member raved about the crustless, and although I was worried about overdoing the sweets, both my hot chocolate & iced cinnamon bun were not of the typical sickly sweet variety ( brought 1/2 the bun home with me tio enjoy tomorrow). I'm longing for the day that I can go back to Schoolhouse 7 Cafe, grab a seat by the window, enjoy my coffee and get work done outside of my home. This coffee spot is so cute and I'm kicking myself for not having visited until about a month ago. (It's so close to where I live!) Schoolhouse 7 Café is a great choice if you want a relaxing time and a drink to enjoy. I have been going there ever since it opened. It has a wide variety of drinks and an abundance of food options. They offer the basic coffees, lattes, mochas, and teas, but they also offer other drinks like smoothies and milkshakes. There are even seasonal drinks. The food menu has cookies, warm brownies, cake pops, different flavors of bread, quiches, macarons and many more options. The building used to be an old schoolhouse from the early-mid 1900s. It is all brick and wood with a homey feeling. They have papers with information about the building when it was a schoolhouse and some information about a teacher and some students. Reading the history is fascinating while enjoying a nice drink. Although the building is small, there is an upstairs and a 2 story deck outside for plenty of seating area. On the second floor there is a long table with many chairs that can be used for meetings and another area for little kids to enjoy some toys and a chalkboard. The employees are always welcoming and they always remember my mom and me when we go. They will always give my dog water and some whipped cream when we sit outside, and they have even reposted a photo of him on their social media. The coffee is awful, and the food isn't any better. I ordered a large white mocha and a breakfast sandwich and it was $$. I can go to Starbucks and get the exact same thing for cheaper and it actually tastes good. I believe in supporting local and small businesses. But, this was not worth it. Lovely little spot that we hit on the weekends. I enjoy the coffee, however, my wife prefers the Corp. competitor (I am a cold brew guy, and she is a latte). Recently visited on a Saturday morning for the first time. The setting was cozy but roomy enough you didn't feel too cramped. Ordered the blackberry chai and a lavender vanilla latte. This is such a cute little cafe. I was hungry for some lunch and was tired of fast food when I remembered this place and decided to give it a try. Fisher's newest coffee shop is an absolute delight! I love nothing more than sitting out on the porch with a cup of delicious coffee. The fireplace inside is so cozy and they have a two story patio outside! My husband and I have already visited the coffee shop several times since they have opened. The staff is so friendly and the drinks are great! My go to option is either an oat milk or almond milk cappuccino and my husband LOVES their dirty chai latte. Never been more excited to be back in "school!" Such a fun and cozy place for Friday coffee date. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They shared the history of the refurbished house with the help of a small binder on the tables that included original photos of the school house, and old report cards and notes provided by a former student. The White Mocha was very good! No bitterness and not too sweet. My hubby stuck with a dark roast brew. Also, no bitterness but bold in taste. Will definitely go back!! Review based on two visits in Q1 2020. Love supporting small, local business. This establishment is a bit pricey, and we experienced very inconsistent quality from the two visits. Will go a third time soon and update the rating and review after that visit to "break the tie". First visit (Feb 16, 2020): * Cinnamon roll - three people in my party all agreed it was the BEST cinnamon roll WE'VE EVER HAD! It doesn't look that appetizing in the display case, but after they warm it up and drizzle icing on it, it's the world's best! * Ham, egg, cheese on bagel - in this first visit, the sandwich was fantastic; good # of pieces of thicker cut county ham, lightly toasted bagel, good egg, just enough cheese - great sandwich! * Chocolate cake - generous sized slice, everyone agreed it was good; not "greatest ever" like the cinnamon roll, but you won't be disappointed. * "Large" Black Iced Tea - tea was super cloudy and tasted chalky; was really poor. "Large" is around 22 ounces (maybe less) - it's a small plastic cup and it was mostly ice. For about $3, this is a clear "never do again". For $0.25 it would be a never do again. Maybe something went wrong with the brewing? Even if that got fixed, a roughly $3 "large" should be at least 32+ ounces and not full of ice. * "Large" Green Iced Tea - assuming something was wrong with the machine because it looked like water (held to the sunlight you could see some color) and tasted awful. Again, about $3 for a tiny "large" cup full of ice - like the black tea, it's a "never do again". * Young man who prepared all the food did a fantastic job; all the kids behind the counter were polite and helpful. Second visit(March 1, 2020): * Cinnamon roll - this time it tasted stale (been in the case too long?) and even though they warmed it up, it was served room temp. The roll we had on the first visit tasted fresh; this one tasted like it had been sitting in the case for a long time (Days? Longer than a week?). * Ham, egg, cheese on bagel - Sandwich was really bad. One tiny piece of the thinnest sliced ham I have ever seen (what happened to the thick cuts from the last time?). Bagel was wet and soggy. The kind young lady who made the food seemed new and nobody was helping her and she seemed lost on what to do. She was asking people where the ingredients were and they'd tell her as they walked away. Got the impression she was doing her best to make it up as she went along. She must have put the wrong items in the wrong quantity and cooked it incorrectly in the little quick serve restaurant oven (like the ones at Subway). It was nothing like the same sandwich from Feb 16. * Given the high quality of the food from the 1st visit, felt ripped-off on this visit. read more
