First and foremost, I love play on words and this restaurant is full of them. I love it! I came here on a super busy Friday afternoon. It took about twenty minutes to get a table. Then it didn't take long to get our orders in for drinks and food. Our waitress was super friendly and came to check on us often. I started with a cup of chili and mustered the courage to take on the nachos. The meat ad overall chessyness of the plate left me hungry. This restaurant is a good spot for breakfast and brunch. The outside area is nice, you can smell the sea breeze. The inside dining room also looks cool. Super cool awesome spot Ill come back to and check something else on the menu. Our breakfast experience was good food, good service, and great view. We were seated after a short wait spent seated on mini lifeguard stands. The closest I'll ever get to being an actual lifeguard. We lucked out with an outdoor table on a glorious southern California day seated right on the water overlooking the marina. A good start. We almost immediately placed our drink orders (coffee and water) which were promptly served and the main order taken. One comment about the service...our server actually appeared to really enjoy her job. Maybe an act, but if so, well done. It makes a difference. The veggie omelet was better than you normally get, well stuffed with a mix of vegetables. A bit of the cholula hot sauce provided at the table made a very good omelet. I always love to try a new place for brunch, and a friend of mine suggested this place so I decided to try it out! This is a diner, so you can definitely dress casually. I loved that it is right next to the Marina; makes for nice scenery, especially if you opt to eat outside. Most of the seating is outside, so it may not be an ideal choice if it's overcast or raining. We sat inside since it was the first available table. The wait was about 10-15minutes at 10:45am on a Sunday. I usually like a mimosa for my brunch adventures, but since I had just done bottomless mimosa brunch the day before I decided to stick with coffee lol. They don't have bottomless mimosas, but they do serve alcoholic beverages. They also have options to buy a bottle of champagne to share with OJ. I ordered the spinach and cheese omelette and got a blueberry muffin (as recommended by our waitress) for my side choice. The food was just average. I could tell they probably used either frozen or canned spinach because it wasn't leafy spinach, it was chopped up. And there was barely any cheese in the omelette. The muffin was a bit dense for my liking, I should have gone with the biscuit. The wait staff was very nice and attentive. I'm glad I tried it out, but for the price, I do not know if it would be a first choice to go again. If I come back, I may try the crab cake benedict because that looked pretty good! read more

CRAB & AVOCADO BENEDICT - Poached eggs and Crab on an English muffin. Topped with avocado and Hollandaise sauce. Served with hash browns or spinach. There was a slight issue with this dish. We live pretty far but came to see a show out here with the family. We waited for a table and headed to the bar for a drink. Th bartender was amazing and she poured so much "tequila" into my drink. At first i was afraid to drink it, but couldn't even taste the "tequila" so i did. I had another margarita with my meal. I had never been so hungover from two drinks in my life. i was then telling this story to a friend who lives out there and she told me they don't have a hard liquor license so they use RICE WINE!!!! what a rip off! i did research and it's true. This place was everything we could have hoped for! Came on a Monday, it was pretty busy. Service was fast and attentive, food came out in 15 minutes, drinks were fast and perfect. The food was all so good, with some unique items you can't find everywhere. Surprisingly they have the best banana nut muffin I've ever had and a really fresh chicken pozole soup. (That's besides all the other traditional breakfast items we got). They've also got a good variety for kids to chose from. Good portion of bacon, tasty gravy, dense biscuit. Hash browns were undercooked with no flavor. Friends ordered the Traditional Eggs Benedict and the Country Breakfast. Hollandaise sauce on the Benedict was thick and a tad salty. Chicken Fried Steak for the Country Breakfast was overcooked and hard to cut. TL;DR Restaurant has a beautiful view of the marina. I think this is the second restaurant I've eaten out at since the start of the pandemic. Being immune compromised kind of sucks. The hubby got the infamous Mess, I got the Schooner Sampler and we got the blueberry muffin and a side of bacon to share. He got milk with ice and I got a coffee. I'll start with the good and end with the bad. The good... The sampler was huge and the stuff came out piping HOT. But I gotta say that the cheese curds were my favorite part. I had a few bites of the mess and it was good. But I gotta say it wasn't as big as I heard it was before... Either that or my hubby and I worked up too big of an appetite while walking around but he finished it with zero issues and he even had some of my sampler as well. The blueberry muffin was good but then again I don't think that you can mess up a freshly warmed muffin. But I did think that the streusel on top definitely did not need the nut that was on it.
