I always love coming to Schussboom because 1. The beers are always different. 2. Food is consistently good. 3. And most importantly, there's a kids play area. It's the perfect place for us to grab food and beer when we don't have a babysitter. It can get loud - There seems to always be some sort of birthday party or kids sports team celebrating something. There is a 21+ only bar area if this is something that will bother you. The restaurant is big with a nice outdoor seating area as well. There is a calendar of deals going on every day. I came here a few months ago and have been dreaming about the tater tots! I ordered them again in a heart beat and they were so good as usual! Highly recommend getting the salt & vinegar seasoning on them. We also ordered the Forager pizza. I could have done without the aged balsamic as it was a bit too sweet. Specificly about the food: Got the belgium walffle ($13.00). Served cold, top with powdered sugar. Then I had to ask for butter and syrup, to which the waitress said "we don't normally serve them together." ???? strange response. Butter is cold and hard. Syrup was refridgerated cold. So it was a cold waffle with cold syrup. Pretty pricey and poor time management. read more

11/1/23 So this was first time here and it's literally down the street. This place is super nice . Good size inside . Full bar , tons of beer to choose from . We got wings and with yelp check in we were able to get Garlic tots and oh my they were perfection. Perfectly crisp and plenty of garlic , A must get . We were able to get the garlic fries as well with check in too . The fries were amazing as well . On to the bigger thangs the Wings . Wow wow wow wow. The size of the wings are great . The Thai dye curry wings were amazing , the Sticky Yaki and Korean all amazing as well . Something I noticed was the food was nice and hot when it came out. It was perfect . These wings stack up to some other known spots around ! No names lol! I had the Black Burro Stout and was delish . Tried a cider as well and wow really good ! Think it was the Dragon Fruit Cider . What was cool too if you have the Untapped Beer app which I do when you check in it puts you up on the board (See Pic) . 1st time seeing this at a brewery very cool ! Not seen in pic was chicken tenders for my son and Friends Wife. They said everything was great . Great service Cool Ambiance as well. The theme is ski chalet, cozy and woodsy. One of their Banana Hammocks is always a great choice! I love how many saison/sours they always have to offer, also. Cocktails and beers are all fairly priced. ~$6 for a 16 oz. They also offer flights if you want to try a few options. This was my first time trying the food and it was wonderful. Whatever the kitchen is doing, keep it up! The staff is very friendly, helpful, and keep the place clean as can be. The menu can be a bit overwhelming, but they offer something for everyone. We opted for an app and two small plates, but will try the pizza next time for sure. They offer cute desserts too. Kids are welcome too. It's very family friendly here. Check it out! read more

Update. Since they started their breakfast, during the yelp elite experience it was delicious and great portions. Love the pork belly Benedict. The staff is nice and helpful, and the ambiance is family friendly. However idk why I keep trying with this place. Kinda feels like a modern upbeat Chuck E. Cheese a little bit when you first walk in. Ordered and paid for the pork belly Benedict, having been sitting for a while, the host comes to tell us that they are out, so I substitute for a cheaper dish (granted only $1) but still. Got the corned beef hash. Love the full chunks of corned beef, but the portion is tiny. Only came with one egg and it came out cold. Got no curtesy for having to order something different nor the wait. The corned beef hash wasn't exciting at all. And the potatoes were super dry. Very disappointed. Their beer is good. Enjoy that they are always rotating. But other than that I need to stop trying their over priced food. $60 for a small plate of food and 4 mimosas my wife and I shared. And my wife and I don't tend to eat a lot of food in one sitting. read more

Always a great place to have a beer and a few bites to eat. Just tried their Freaky Freaky Fresh Double Fresh Hop IPA and it's perfect beer right now. Perfect weather and perfect beer. Just stopped in for propane fill up (yes, they do propane) and a couple of beers. Staff behind the bar know their stuff and easy to chat with. Not really my cup of tea. Seats are uncomfortable and food is mediocre at best. They have their own parking lot. I ordered their Greek wrap which was essentially romaine salad in a wrap, nothing more. Perhaps their drinks are better? My husband ordered their bloody mary. Wasn't a great day to experience Schussboom Brewing. Visited on a hot summer day, a Friday night, It was loud with kids running around all over, outside and inside, rooftop and below. Service was ok. It is fast food style. I have to admit that service was fast for the volume of people here. Ordered cheese curds and Fries (thank you Yelp! Free fries on the app) and also ordered the blueberry cider which was from Portland and very refreshing. Cheese curds were small battered cheese, much like mozarella, The fries were good with parmesan and garlic. Good "bar food". This venue may be more appeasable to families with kids. Might be quieter earlier in the afternoons. Parking was horrible but we finally got lucky. I'll try it again at a different day of the week, and different time. read more

I've always had a great experience when eating at Schussboom. To start they have a great space with lots of room for large and small groups. They also have a separate area for kids to play and keep themselves entertained. There's a lot of natural light coming in through the windows, and the windows are actually garage door style so they can roll up when the weather is nice. Their menu is diverse and also has options for vegetarians, which is awesome. Everything we've ordered there has tasted great, and I love that they offer brunch on the weekends. They also have a full bar with every drink you could possibly be craving. They have fun cocktails that all taste delicious! There isn't table service, so you do have to order at the register and then they give you a buzzer when your food is ready, and sometimes if it's busy the line to order can get a little long so just keep that in mind. read more

I'd be a regular at this place if I lived in the area. Bartenders were all super friendly, with a great sense of humor. The bartender observed it was our first time so he kindly offered us a couple tasters to see what we'd like. We ended up getting a couple pints of ciders and a couple beers, all were really good. They also offer 5 ounce pours if you're not feeling a full glass. We ordered the wings with a couple recommended sauces on the side and they were definitely some of the best wings I've had. Breaded nicely with a perfect crunch. Mixing the Thai Curry with a little ranch dressing is a must! Even seemed like the ranch was made in house. Enjoyed watching the Knights game there, and cheering them on with other Nevadans. It was quite cold when I was there but there's tons of turf out back, presumably for cornhole and other games. One of our current favorites! Great for families, large groups, or just a date night. Their kids corner is a little lacking, but the vibe is great for kids even without that. Every food item I've had has been great. Pizza, sandwiches, eggs Benedict, it all rocks. Indoor and outdoor seating include upstairs on their patio. Nice outdoor area with turf and games. Came here for weekend brunch and was not disappointed! Note that the food is semi self-service (you get on line to order but they bring the food to your table and they clean up for you). My duck confit with waffle and cherry jam was delicious. Not too salty, and the jam perfectly balanced the meat. The second time I came I got the chorizo Benedict: was extremely salty so not sure if I would get it again. Rest of the dish was delicious though, from the poached eggs to the perfectly crispy home fries. They have a full bar with tables where 21+ guests can sit, and another open space with benches that's good for groups. Plus outdoor seating with shade and lawn games. Tried the place on a whim expecting it to have servers. It turned out you have to order at the counter then pick a spot to sit and then get your order from the pick up counter. The place seems spacious with one side being a family dining side and the other is the over 21 side with the bar. It had a "cafeteria" feel with a ski/snowboard motif complete with ski lift seats, which is a nice touch. We decided to sit at the family side. There was a little space for the kids to play Jenga and other games. I wasn't particularly hungry so I selected apps to share with my son. We got the pretzel, focaccia platter and Tatanka wings. My son got the chicken sandwich. The fountain drinks is serve yourself. The focaccia came with Gorgonzola fondue that I wasn't really keen on, as well as balsamic vinegar/evoo for dipping. Disappointingly, it had more evoo than balsamic vinegar that every time I dipped the focaccia, it was only absorbing the evoo and the bread was already oily as it was. The pretzel was ok, barely any salt on it which is what I prefer but it seems they heated it in the microwave because as soon as it got cold, the part we didn't get to yet already turned rock hard. As for the wings, it was swimming in sauce but it was alright. My son's chicken sandwich according to him was "so-so". The place is ok but the food was mediocre. We've been going to Schussboom since we moved to Reno 3 years ago and have never had a bad experience! We've gone on dates, for a quick drink, with friends and family, and will keep coming back. The food is all delicious, including their new breakfast menu. There's a spot for kids to play. The service is wonderful, sometimes a bit slow on the food, but regardless we don't complain because it's always delicious and the staff is so kind. I stood by my review for Schussboom , told my mother in law and our family about how great this place was .... until their Cinco De Mayo event and either one of the employees or the actual owner came up to my husband and his friends and freaked out on them about our kids running around and said an inappropriate comment about it and clearly was upset about kids being IN THEIR KID SECTION. To be clear as well, my husband and his friend were not drunk and were obviously watching the kids. ALL of us were watching our kids. From the photos: THIS IS there kid section ... so many things wrong for any kid to get hurt and looks more like a prison cell then a kid section. Second, if you are a openly kid friendly brewery but get mad at kids running around , then don't say and be a kid friendly brewery? I appreciate the employee who offered the cheers card they gave us after I told him about what happened.. But honestly, it's disappointing to see a "kid friendly brewery" with a owner and/or employee who says different to paying customers for over priced food who ARE watching their kids. read more

The restaurant was clean and orderly. The acoustics were very loud. But, it is a sports bar and the floor is cement. The cashier was friendly. I had a mimosa. It was good. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The Basic Benedicts were outstanding! It's probably the best I've had in Reno! The potatoes were excellent also.
