On my visit, they had run out of a full order of grilled grouper, so they gave me a choice of another item to round out the plate. I chose the grilled shrimp which was another winner. I don't know what kind of customer service this place thinks is acceptable, but the short petite black haired lady in the front was by far one of the rudest servers I've ever dealt with. I spent $40 on my meal and simply asked for some extra lemons not steak, not caviar, lemons. And she acted like I was completely out of line. Her attitude was nasty and unnecessary. Rolling her eyes, huffing like I was a burden, and basically making it clear she didn't want to help. If asking for a couple lemon slices is that big of a deal, maybe she's in the wrong line of work. I came here to enjoy a meal, not to be treated like an inconvenience. The Fish Sammie's used to have fish piled on. It was the best. Now just two pieces. The bun is huge, but the fish portions that make up the sandwich are considerably Smaller. We noticed this the last two times we ate here and said nothing. Gave it another try last night and the same small portion. About 1/3 the amount of fish is a major change. We have heard ownership changed. Really disappointed with the smaller fish portion. Hope they go back to the larger portions. Our neighborhood selected Scooter's as the location for our annual HOA meeting, and we were so pleased by the service and accommodations that we decided to renew for another year on the spot. The manager (Ben) arranged for us to use the back room for our meeting on short notice, and the staff worked hard to accommodate us and ensure we had what we needed. Most of us ordered the specials (Mahi was the fish of the day) which are always solid and of course having drinks and condiments as self serve is great for a larger group. Scooter's is an undeniable highlight of that local flavor, of course focusing heavily on seafood dishes, freshly caught in the gulf or nearby lakes. If there is one thing that a self respecting visitors should not leave without trying, it is undeniably the tacos and po boys. There is really no going wrong as far as protein, as long as it is seafood. Grouper, redfish, shrimp, oysters...they are all heavenly. On one occasion, I have made the mistake of ordering the taco with chicken and regret it to this day since it's dry consistency still haunts dreams. I've been coming to Scooters for the last 4 -5 years, since moving to FL. I have brought friends and those visiting us.l, as a must go while you are here. Anyhow, today, changed for me. I usually get fried calamari, but they did not have any, so I went with the grilled shrimp tacos, which I've had before. Something was off. It was edible, but not something I will order again. The tacos were not only served on cold tortillas, but were sopping wet with the coleslaw, pico and drizzle they add. I literally had to take paper towels and squeeze the liquid off of my tacos in order to eat. I have never experienced this. Also, we got there at 1pm, there were only two of tables with food and a couple picking up to go, I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes to get our food and this is when they are packed. So sad for me that this place is no longer a go to. read more

I cant say enough good things about the seafood here. Good portion sizes and lots of local fish on the menu. Its a nice clean restaraunt too. The staff is nice and helpful. I usually get the Scooter platter with fish of the day. The fish dip is also good here. I have never had a bad experience here and have been over 20 times. read more

Went to this place based upon reviews, what a disappointment. The prices were very high. The food was blah! We spent almost $100.00 and my 12 year old daughter was able to carry the tray with all our food. Once you order they are done with you. No drink refills. Small amount of over priced food on plastic plates. In the description of this place they claim bay views. Only if you got on the roof with binoculars. Don't waste your time going here. read more

Scooter's Fish House is on highway 87 leading into Navarre, Florida and is the place countless tourists drive by without giving this humble establishment a second glance and I can say that after Intried their fantastic food, I am convinced that the locals prefer it this way, that they want this place as theirs and not the tourists who barge into their community and disrupt their lives. The ordering process is simple, you go to a counter and place your order, they give you a receipt and call you when your order is done and you go and grab it from another window. Since I am focusing on eating healthier, I opted for the grilled amber jack and they give you two sides. I chose collard greens (more healthy stuff) and potato salad (not the healthiest, but the girl at the counter recommended it and said that it has pork in it. I was sold at the mention of pork). The food came out in a relatively speedy time and I chose a bench in the dining room. The benches are kind of cool, because they have local businesses advertising under a laminated sheen. I have to say that my dinner was excellent. The amber jack was perfectly seasoned and cooked and the collard greens were pretty epic. The potato salad (did I mention that it had pork in it?) Was truly a treat. The portions were generous and the price point was more than fair. My platter was about thirteen or fourteen dollars. Tourists will continue to drive by this place, their eyes trained and on the lookout for a more flashy place closer to the water with a catchy name to draw them in. Truly their loss. The locals know where to head and now I do, as well, when seeking out great seafood. If you find yourself in Navarre, seek this place out. You will not regret it. read more
