This has been my husband and my favorite restaurant for OVER ten years - absolutely love it as a "special night" out restaurant. Well, tonight, we had one of the worst evening's of our life as far as service... REALLY miss Bill. Not sure we will go back after having such poor service because the last time we were at Scott's the service/food was mediocre as well. We have ALWAYS found both the service and food impeccable so were ok with the extremely high prices for this area. Once again, always considered it our "go to" special date night restaurant. I had heard great things about Scott's so I gave it a shot for my birthday dinner. It was delicious. The bread was warm and reminded me of NY. We got the pesto to dip it in and I will def be buying jars for holiday gifts. The escargot was big and juicy. A perfect balance of butter and garlic. I had the chicken noodle soup. It was good but not as memorable as the rest of my meal. My boyfriend had the Caesar salad followed by filet mignon. The salad was good and the Steak was cooked perfectly, seasoned well and very very tender. I had the Parmesan crusted grouper topped with lump crab. Sometimes I'm not a fan of lump crab but this complemented the fish perfectly. We had banana foster for dessert! I was stuffed. We ate every bite and alll the bites were amazing. read more

First timer...brought friends from NC. Service was great, food was very good. My husband asked for his pasta al dente and that's what he got. Started with PEI mussels in a white wine, garlic sauce...fresh and sweet mussels. Then I had the seafood pasta again with the white wine garlic sauce. Huge portion! Shrimp, clams, mussels and lobster. Our friends had two kinds of fresh fish and my husband had the same seafood pasta but Fra Diavolo. The only thing we forgot to tell them was we were catching a show and had to rush through the main course. Yes it's a tad pricey but we will be back again. "Interesting" decor, prompt, friendly service, and amazing food. The homemade bread was a great start, chunky, veggie gazpacho was fresh and delicious, salad was average (paid extra for crumbled blue cheese and got very little), yellowtail snapper special was perfect and the stuffed pork chop was the best I've ever tasted. We have been to Scott's over the years, but our last visit just turned us off in every way. My husband took me there to celebrate my birthday. We were seated right away and noted how loud the music was. The speaker was right above us and it made it hard to have a conversation. Our server, Natasha, came over and asked if we'd like drink and I ordered a cosmopolitan. She delivered it and it was so heavy on the lime juice (couldn't taste any vodka), that I literally couldn't drink it. She took it back and offered to make me another one, but I chose to stick with wine instead. She was giving us the specials, but I told her I couldn't hear because the music was so loud. I asked if they could turn it down. She came back and offered to move us to another table across the room. That was better, but it was still loud. Music should be low and in the background as to not interfere with conversations. We couldn't believe how slow the service was the entire night, but it was slow the last time we visited and just thought that was an off night. It was an hour and forty minutes before we received our entrees! My husband ordered the salmon and I ordered the filet with peppercorn sauce. Our server ask me to cut into my steak to ensure it was cooked to my liking. I had a hard time just cutting into the steak as it was tough, but I told her the temperature was fine. I took several bites and could not eat it because it was so tough. My husband tried it and said the same thing. Natasha came back to see how everything was and I told her my steak was tough. She never offered to have it sent back, she just smiled and walked away. Really?!!! Then to top the entire fiasco evening off, my husband ordered dessert, I did not. She brought out a dessert with a candle/sparkler thing in it and sat it in front of me. I asked her what the dessert was and it was the dessert that my husband had ordered! OMG, REALLY?! You gave me his dessert with a candle in it! You were so cheap that you couldn't bring me a scoop of ice cream or anything else to honor my birthday. I was appalled to say the least. We paid our bill and left. We both agreed that this is the last time we will go to Scott's. I'm sure they won't miss our business as they always seem to be busy, but we will not pay our good money to inadequate service and quality of food! read more

First time at Scott's to celebrate my husbands birthday. 11 people in our party and they made us feel like we were the only ones there. The whole experience was fantastic. The atmosphere is outstanding, eclectic and trendy. The food was great and the service was super. Our server Pepper was on point and super knowledgeable. Drinks were great too. Won't go back. I am a true foody and enjoy trying out restaurants and cooking at home. Unfortunately, I found the food at Scotts to be over priced and uninspiring. The menu was limited but their specials sounded interesting. There was a weird "bleachy/urine" smell through out the dining area which we noticed right when we walked in. The decor was eclectic/cheesy. So, if you don't mind expensive but average tasting food then check Scott's out. I won't be going back. Absolutely wonderful! Amazing staff. We ordered several rounds of drinks and had a large group and they rose to the challenge. We got to talk with the manager several times over the course of the meal; very accommodating and attentive to our needs. For example, the manager noticed and fixed a slight wobble in our table as soon as we were seated. When deciding on drinks he brought out multiple samples to help us decide. Drink orders were filled quickly. There were plenty of food options, the chef had prepared specialty options for our group but I ordered the ribeye and my wife got the veal. Both were very good. This is my ultimate FAVORITE spot to dine for lunch and/or dinner! Small ....intimate...tastefully decorated resturant with very amicable and experienced staff more than willing to accomadate one's taste for "fine dining". Their cesar salad is the best I have had anywhere..makes me want to lick the dish! The stuffed shrimp delightful, steaks and fish always prepared just right! Veggies make your mouth "pop" with just the right flavor to bring out the best in them. Now....if you have never had the Coconut Cream pie...or home style coconut ice cream...w/ chocolate sauce....you just haven't lived. ( can you guess what I like?) but seriously all desserts are delightful....food is priced right...and I have never experienced a bad meal there...they are consistently good in the 2+ years I have been dining there. We tried Scott's last night as part of Flavor Brevard. We both had the wonton duets for appetizers. They were excellent. As were our entrees. I had the Parmesan crusted salmon and my husband had the bolognese. Again both were excellent. The bread was also quite good and the pesto outstanding. The desserts were my favorites. Homemade chocolate mousse and lemon tort martini. I'd return just for those! We plan to return and try the regular menu. read more

Great food, lousy service. The person who took my order never told me about the specials but apparently told everyone else. Apparently, he told the others in my group about the filet mignon but not me. I ended up with the only steak on the menu, a rib eye. It was cooked just like I like it. The waitress came around and gave everyone steak knives, but not one for me. I had to track her down and ask for one. When she brought a steak knife. I was still speaking to her and she turned around and walked away so I had to ask the bartender for A1 sauce who seemed annoyed I was bothering him. When the A1 steak sauce arrived was less than 2 tablespoons for a 20 ounce steak??? I ordered double vegetables, instead of mashed potatoes. They brought me a small serving of vegetables and mashed potatoes anyway. When I said that I ordered only vegetables, no potatoes she tried to take my plate. I said no, just bring out another serving of vegetables and you can have the potatoes. Took 1.5 hours after ordering to get our dinner. A smaller group at another table that arrived after our group got the A+ waiter who brought their food out sooner than 1.5 hours. Parking is very limited and the lot was full when I arrived but found a place down the street. Good company, great food, lousy service. The waitress was very much not available. Never have I ever been to a restaurant and felt so completely uncomfortable that I had to leave before getting my entree until this very afternoon. Pepper, sweetheart, you really need to lower the volume of your voice. People, I came into this restaurant alone to spoil myself after a beach trip to some wine, fancy italian food and dessert but what I got at Scott's On Fifth was a prodding, flippant waiter named PEPPER??? (Am I in American Horror Story right now??) who diligently asked me several personal questions about myself and proceeded to walk into the kitchen and tell the entire staff in there everything that he had just learned about me. They were back there laughing. You guys bored or something?? I could hear everything It gets worse. Pepper comes to the table and tells me the minestrone just got made today and it's a recipe Scott himself brought back from Italy about 20 years ago. I'm like cool let's get that and then this dummy walks straight into the kitchen and starts telling jokes about the soup to his coworkers. "Here you are, enjoy your red dye #40" he says. and he was right. Tasted like any boring soup. After he asked me about everything from my family to my job and where I live and continued to run back and tell his coworkers 3 or 4 times, I just had enough. It was super uncomfortable for me. Why is this 50 year old man putting me on blast? So I made up some excuse as to why I had to leave and I took the rest of my food to go and it is honestly this most garbage italian food I've ever had. The salmon tasted like pedigree dog food fed farm raised salmon. The wine I had at the restaurant was shit. The decor was tacky. What does marilyn monroe have to do with Italian food? Also ordered the pre fix from them that was supposed to come with desert but they didn't include that in the togo bag. They also told me the pre fix was $35 but my bill was a couple dollars short of $50??? Pepper maybe you need to go back to blues clues and practice your math. read more

Scott's was recommended to my wife and I and I must say we were very dissapointed. Service was excellent. But gin and tonic was weak although we asked for Tanquary it tasted like well gin. Stuffed shrimp tasted old and like iodine. Sent it back. Lobster ravioli looked dark and didn't have much taste although passable. All in all a bad experience. Small, local favorite out on the beach (192 Causway). The food is good, but not particularly special. I had the stuffed shrimp, and it definately wasn't fresh .. my wife's Thai Chicken was uneventful. Some other items on the menu seemed interesting, and we will try them next time, as it is good enough to return. read more

Scott's is one of the nicer restaurants in Melbourne/Indiatlantic, located a few blocks from the beach on the main causeway road 5th Ave. Very comfortable, quiet place with excellent service. Good for couples or groups. Good place to celebrate an occasion. The menu is varied, and there are nightly specials (which are generally my favorite things to order). Great fresh fish, and the 2 steak selections are good as well. Soups are made fresh (my favorite is the roasted tomato and basil). The prices are not cheap, but lower than other competing restaurants like DJons, Yellow Dog, Chart House, and others, and the food is better here. Great fresh desserts as well. Currently beer and wine only, but excellent wine selections. Generally can't go wrong coming to Scott's. read more

Last night was my first time dining at Scott's on Fifth. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive, although there were other issues. There was a smell permeating the restaurant that smelled as though they had used too much disinfectant in the bathroom, which bothered me for most of the evening. I ordered the salmon as my main course and expected to receive a nice piece of fish, but instead received bits and pieces of salmon on top of my rice. Although it tasted fine, I thought it was a less than acceptable presentation for a main course dinner. read more

This was my 1st time and my last time. Our appetizer consisted of four overcooked dry filet mignon meatballs, followed by a not so bad whitebean pasta fagioli soup. I ordered Crab Stuffed Shrimp which turned out to be an oily mess/culinary nightmare. My friend ordered the Lobster Pasta special... Big Disappointment...Our server was absolutely a delight. Had dinner here with two friends about two months ago and due to a hectic schedule, just getting on-line to post my review. We had a wonderful evening at Scott's on Fifth. The food was marvelous, the service was perfect and the diningroom is beautiful. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the fish with crab and spinach was a joy to eat. The portions are large and we were each able to take home a doggie bag (although the contents were too good to give to the dog to partake). Of course, dessert is a must and was served with lovely fan-fare and artistry. This is my new go-to restaurant in the area. The entire staff from the host, to the wait staff, to the owner/chef and assistants were first class and very knowledgable. Our entire experience was brilliant! Well done!!! read more

When my husband surprised me for a dinner date at Scott's, my first reaction was - you did GOOD! This quaint, personal, boutique-like restaurant dons original artwork, colorful chandeliers, an exotic wine list, and stellar service. Although the menu wasn't as extensive as you are used to, the specials menu will knock your socks off! I felt like I would be eating art! We ended up choosing the crab cake, filet, and creme brûlée - all just AMAZING! Every moment from when we walked in, to giving the owner/chef a hug to thank him was absolutely perfect. Enjoyed a wonderful evening with nine friends and Scott did not disappoint. Food was amazing. Must try the mussels! Sauce is the best many of us ever had. My entree included a fresh salad and red snapper a la Oscar on top of a bed of asparagus. Delicious! My husband enjoyed the seafood pasta with white sauce. Our last visit months ago, he had the same entree but with red sauce. Both were excellent and prepared with lots of seafood including lobster. The exceptional service is on par with the food. My wife and I ate at Scott's for the first time last Friday. When we walked in, it smelled like bleach or cleaning disinfectant and the smell permeated the restaurant. The menu offerings were unimpressive but some of the specials did sound interesting. After being regaled by the waitress with a friendly but pretentious adjective laden description of the specials, my wife ordered something on the order of Steak Diane and I ordered Shrimp Scampi with Angel Hair Pasta. The Steak Diane was decent although uninspired. The Shrimp pasta bordered on inedible - the shrimp were not fresh tasting and tough, the pasta was mushy despite my specifically asking that it be made al dente. The prices were simply outrageous given the poor quality of the food - it would not have been a good value at half the price. On balance, Scott's on Fifth is long on fancy adjectives and short on good cuisine. read more

Scott's is a great place for a date or a romantic evening out. After five or six visits I can confidently say the food and service in consistently excellent. I make it a point to stop in here while I am in Florida. Prices are on the high side but well worth it. Parking is a little tight behind the restaurant but ride your bicycle if you are close enough. read more

Eat desert first! Oh my! The coconut ice cream was THE BEST THING I've ever put in mouth! OK and everything else was pretty wonderful too, including outstanding service When the requested bottle of wine wasn't available, an upgraded bottle arrived and we were happy diners. Our party of 4 ordered completely different entrees and all were divine. Additionally, Scott dropped by our table so we were able to compliment the Chef. It's intimate - only 12 tables and btw it looks like Liberace decorated, but don't be distracted, there is a notable art collection to be admired. read more

Great food, great service and a friendly atmosphere. Our family is in the process of relocating from Los Angeles to Melbourne and my wife was introduced to Scott's. From the first night on, she has felt like family. She took me there for dinner on Saturday night and I found the food to be top notch. Scott seems to travel the globe with what is on the menu but everything I ate was spot on. Crab bisque was thick with crap, shrimp escargot was nuclear hot but very tasty. Had to ask for more bread to soak up the juices. I had the Tuscan rib eye and it was seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium rare. My wife asked Scott to just make her whatever he wanted to and it was a lovely piece of red snapper. Desert was spectacular too. While the prices are probably up there for Melbourne, they are about average for the same type of restaurant. We have found our replacement special dinner out location for our new home in Melbourne. We loved everything about this hidden gem. We traveled to Indialantic, just to relax and have a great meal. Our meal was beyond great! We had a feast and each dish was perfection! Crab bisque pure silk, clams fresh and flavorful, bread with this incredible pesto, snapper cooked to perfection. The ambiance was great with tasteful and thought out decor. Scotts on Fifth is still a mixed bag and at this price point or less, there are multiple better options. In March of 2017, (six years after past review), Scotts still does an outstanding job with soups. Both their Gazpacho and Lobster Bisque are among the best soups you will find on Space Coast. Sadly, the Pear, Pecan and Gorgonzola salad ($9.00) that preceded the soup was miss. The Pecans had a plastic-waxy aftertaste that is common when pecans are kept long after their prime and start to spoil. The pears were sliced wafer thin. For $9.00 it would be nice if they included more than 1/8 of a pear. If I had only read my six-year-old review before returning. I had the stuffed shrimp. Doh. It still was not fresh. My spouse noticed the odor from across the table. Worries of getting sick flew through my head. She had the chicken. It was boring and unmemorable. For desert, there were several options of a cooked fruit Apples or Peaches with Scott's made on premises ice cream (Vanilla, Coconut, or a Cinnamon-Vaneilla). It is admirable that Scott's endeavors to make their own ice cream, but at least for their vanilla they should not bother and should just buy Haggen Daaz or Ben & Jerry's instead. Their made on premises ice cream has a dry texture. It is not creamy or rich. It is not soft. If you ever try a Cuisinart Home Icecream maker, you have probably found that if you don't serve the ice cream as soon as you make it, the texture goes hard in the freezer or turns to mush in the fridge. Perhaps I should have tried the "crustless Apple Pie with cinnamon ice cream instead of the other fruit option with vanilla but ... I really like crust on my apple pie. Desert was just O.K. Service was also lacking. Two servers for about 10 tables a few of which were empty. Our waitress looked like she just did not want to be there. Her timing was off. After she brought the bill, I had to listen to her give a large table the whole song and dance about desert specials when it seemed obvious to grab the credit card that was sitting on our table before starting the whole dessert presentation at the other table. The Decor in Scotts looks the same as in 2011, it is NOT horrendous, it's Scott's own thing. Some of it is odd or quirky. What is really strange is a de-humidifer prominently placed in the corner of the restaurant. Why? Who needs to see that. Can you please put that somewhere else. Scott's is not as good now as it was in 2011 and it was a 3.5 to 4 star place then. If you find yourself at the corner of A1A and 5th Ave., here are your much better options: Go South to 302 Ocean Grille (Amaziing, faster, better decor, better service, better food, and more reasonably priced) , go South West Dijons (similarly priced, marginally better except Soups where Scott's is still fantastic), or go West to Nomad Cafe (more reasonably priced, better food, faster, weaker deserts), or SW to Yellow Dog on US1 (Similarly priced, with better service and vastly superior food). All are substantially better. Scott's should trim their menu to get rid of their weaker menu items, discard any food that is not fresh, and improve their wait staff. Five Star Soups - Three Stars for everything else. read more

I want to preface this review by stating that I am a restauranteur and chef. Having owned and operated several restaurants I am not easily impressed with poorly crafted dishes and I am extremely critical of service and attention to detail. Having said that, Scott's on Fifth hits it out of the park. Starting with the greeting at the door by our highly trained server Pepper the evening could not have been more enjoyable. I started with the escargot appetizer which was tender and perfectly prepared with layers of garlic in a butter herb sauce (I couldn't get enough bread to dip in it, and Pepper who was right on spot brought me 2 baskets). My wife had the Caprese salad appetizer with a balsamic reduction which was equally outstanding. Scott has a way with sauces and dressings that I admire. Being a chef I rarely admit that something tastes better than my own but the red wine vinaigrette that was on my house salad was. The main entrée of Stockyard Angus ribeye steak (20oz) was grilled perfectly medium rare and the pinot noir reduction with blue cheese crumbles and crunchy fried onions ( just enough to know they were there) rounded out the dish expertly. My wife had the 16oz veal chop which was tender and topped with a mushroom and red wine sauce. And don't skip desert. My wife and I shared the House made Bananas Foster which Scott puts his own twist on by adding crumbled butter finger to the already decadent sweet. Scrumptious! Scott the owner (who frequently made stops by our table to ensure our satisfaction) and our server Pepper worked in unison to time each dish and create the atmosphere that you rarely see in todays restaurant scene. This is the very best restaurant in Melbourne Beach. The decor is deliberately over-the-top as is the meticulously crafted food, from the homemade bread to the exquisitely balanced tang of the gazpacho. Service was excellent with the waiter doubling as bartender & making the table drinks. I had the best Cadillac Margarita I have ever had and the most tender spinach stuffed pork chop south of Keene's in NYC. Excellent! read more

We just ate at this little gem of a place called Scott's on Fifth. It was amaaaazing. From the little olives on the table when we first sat down (I have NEVER liked olives before) to the crab bisque, both of our main courses (he had stuffed shrimp, I had the lobster) and the chocolate dessert... every bite was delicious, I can't emphasize this enough. The service was on point and friendly and the atmosphere was perfect with their intimate 12 tabled seating, everyone had a sunset view. I'm big on service (used to be a server) so I'm majorly critical. Not that it was a diamond in the rough (it's on 5th avenue) but we felt like it was the best discovery so far that we've made since we've been here in the area! (2 1/2 yrs with date nights once a month) Even better than Dijon's which comes in second now that we know about Scott's on Fifth. We will be back time and time again. read more

My mother-in-law were taken to this seemingly thrown together cafe that looked like a 70's after art show dumped there old stuff off at. The tables were uncomfortable close and it was dark. I smiled not to seem disappointed but to tell you the truth, I was almost afraid of what would come out of the kitchen if this was the atmosphere palate of the owner until.... OMG, We all ordered something different, 4 different apps, 4 different entrees, passing bites along as if we have never eaten before. The cuisine was so inbelievible that the decore even started to look good. I have one thing last to say about one of the best restaunts in this entire county: BANANAS FOSTER! A REAL TRUE HONEST TO GOD, NOT CUTTING CORNERS BANANAS FOSTER. It was a true flashback to my childhood, flames and all. This is a place you will dream of once you have eaten there. Kudos! read more
