I was very satisfied with the maintenance service on my riding lawn mower. It had been sitting for 3 months while I was hospitalized with the flu and I wanted to make sure everything was running right before I tried to use it again. The technician was very friendly; in fact we remembered each other from when he last came out. He got the mower started and wanted to check that the blades were cutting properly and then proceeded to mow my front yard for me! My only reason for 4 stars and not 5 was because the time frame was never narrowed down from the original time frame of 8-5, so I was stuck at home until the tech called saying he was on the way. read more

This was one of the worst experiences of my life. I was charged $2026 for one 40" by 40" window. I was told the windows had to be hurricane strength windows; that it was required by the windstorm company or else I wouldn't be able to get insurance, which is why they wanted to charge me over $1,000 for the other large windows and over $800 for the smaller ones. The windstorm inspector told me that that was not true as long as the windows could be covered by a sheet of plywood they did not have to be Hurricane strength windows. Two rows of siding on the front of my house are overlapping almost right in the middle of the wall in front of my home and everyone I spoke with at Sears was arguing with me, that that's how it's supposed to be when the row right above the two overlapping rows is a full row. Also, behind the windows that were framed in with the vinyl, there's a big gap in the vinyl siding, a whole actually in the wall that rain could get in to get behind and rot the wood frame. Both the salesman and the project manager that I spoke to argued with me like I didn't know what I was talking about instead of coming out and inspecting the property to see the installation for themselves. I even sent pictures and was still argued with. At this point, I will never do any more business with Sears and if I have my way, I will make sure all of my friends, family and even strangers I meet know how Sears treats their customers. read more

Had Sears service come out to repair my whirlpool washer and it's just as bad as before the repair was done. I had to wait over a week to have it repaired, parts had to be ordered & when the parts came in , it took the technician less than a hour to replace ,he tried it & it worked ok .then after 1 wash load it stopped spinning again. Have purchased their "Warranty" about 3 times in the past month. My fridge stopped working I called to get warranty. First time technicians cancels just 30 mins before the appointment wasting me a day of work. Second time the technician tells me he can't do anything because the fridge has to be plugged in for 24 hrs the fridge does not work!!!! Not only that he was so extremely rude and just plain lazy. Another work day wasted. Third time, today, the technician calls also when it's about time for the appointment and tells me I have no warranty and I have to pay out of pocket. Seriously I've purchased and repurchased the warranty three times what is wrong with this people. Customer service it's also a waste they won't help you with anything. At this point I'm ready to file a dispute with my credit card because getting a refund for my warranty will be just as painful as getting and waiting the technician to come to my house. I had an appointment last week where the service technician was supposed to come to my house. I have my service set up to receive a phone call, email, and text message, so I am guaranteed to get one even if the other one doesn't go through. I waited until after 5 because there is no guarantee time, you must be home between 8 am and 5 pm. The technician never called, texted, or emailed. I called the company to find out that the technician said that he attempted contact but I never received any of the 3 contacts I have set up. I had an appointment set up on Friday of last week that was to be carried out today, the company was just waiting for a part to be delivered. I received the part yesterday. I received an email at 6:30 am stating that I needed to contact the company to let them know I received the part, so I did at 7 am when they opened. I was told the technician would be there today. I waited all day and the technician never showed, so I called. I was told that the technician was never going to come today because they didn't know the part was in. I have called 6 times today verifying that I had an appointment and someone would be here and each time I was told they would be here. I spent all day waiting for them, and they never even intended on showing up or telling me that they were not going to show up. I then spent 2 hours on the phone trying to get it straightened out and was transferred to at least 4 people, none of whom made the situation right. I finally went to cancel my service to be told that I would not be able to be refunded any of my money. I only wanted the service for this month refunded and my washer fixed, but I can't get that done either. So, I had to set up another appointment which is going to delay me going out of town to my sister's wedding because they don't have a "service slot" until Friday which is when I was supposed to be leaving to get ready for the wedding. I want to make this clear that I am unsure of the actual location, but it is the online sears home warranty department that has done this. read more

I don't even know where to begin with this company. We made the mistake of picking them again to service our busted ice maker. In the past when it has stopped working we'd hired them and they'd miss an appointment or be extremely late. It was always annoying but we were grateful to have it fixed. It's broken again and trying to get Sears out here to repair it has been like requesting god to come fix it himself. To begin, there was a two week wait to even be scheduled. Not a huge deal since it's just a busted ice maker and not something crucial but annoying nevertheless. The day of our appointment arrives (finally!) and they claimed to be here between 10-2. At two o'clock I get an email saying the appointment time has changed and is now from 2:15-4:15. Then it gets changed from 3-5. (Please keep in mind that i was getting these time change updates by refreshing the link in the first email, heaven forbid they have the courtesy to call or even send a second email to let me know the time keeps changing.) Six o'clock rolls around so I call and am told they were running so late that they had to reschedule me for the next Monday from 8-12. So I spent an entire Saturday sitting around waiting for them for nothing, but at least it's Saturday. So I took Monday morning off of work to wait again. It's now 12 and I just received a call from them claiming that both techs for our area called in sick today and I am now rescheduled for next Monday from 8-12. Why wouldn't you call me at 8 to let me know they'd called in so that I can go about my business instead of making me wait until the end of my appointment window? Probably because it's BS. Or it could be a reflection of their horrible customer service methods. Either way, we're waiting yet another week. And the most frustrating part? When they finally do show up it will be for 10 minutes to diagnose the problem, charge us, order a part, and make an appointment 2 more weeks into the future. Sigh. Just don't pick Sears as your repair company. It's not worth the frustration. read more

Pardon me but I am sitting here fuming! I have always trusted Sears and have done business with them in one way or another for most of my life. I am having a problem with my Whirlpool gas range as the oven is not heating. This has happened before, so I am thinking it may be the same rather simple change a part type of problem. First, I have waited 2 weeks for a Saturday appointment, today, and when I did call to make the appointment, I lost my mind for a few minutes and agreed to the warranty for the home appliances. They were to come this morning between 8-12. I have been home every second of that time with my phone at my side. I called this morning to confirm, and was told the latest estimate was between 9:30-11:00. At 11, I had not heard anything, so I called back, really beginning to question the warranty as I was reading more about it. I addressed that on the phone and asked the process to cancel it. I was met with hostility, and told the appointment for today would likely be cancelled if I cancelled the warranty. So I said I would keep it until after the appointment. To summarize, it is not almost 2:00. I have made several calls and requested that the repair person give me a call to give me an idea of the arrival time. I have company coming later, and I need to get to the grocery. Still no call. I am looking up other options now. I am really disappointed that Sears has fallen this low. I am very irritated at this point, however, I am a very reasonable person, and very understanding. I do appreciate good communication. They most definitely have my phone number, and I have requested they call me with updates. I deal with the public every day, so perhaps they need a reminder that the customer is always right! Total Incompetence--Save yourself a lot of time and stress and find someone else! We used the Sears Home Services website to schedule a repair for our Kenmore dryer (just out of warranty and having issues) We requested an 8-12 morning time. We received an email confirming our 8-12 time slot, an automated call on our phone and when I went to their website it also confirmed. All messages said we'd get a call in advance of the technician coming out. At 11:30, I decided to get on the website to see if I could get a more specific time since it was so close to the end of the window. The website now said 3:15-5:15! Nobody called to tell us this. So I called and inquired about this. I was told the 8-12 time frame was merely "an estimate." I said I wouldn't have taken off of work for just an estimate, and if it truly was, we should have been informed. Furthermore, that when the technician saw he was going to be so late he should have called. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he did not want to connect me. He put me on hold and then came back and said not to worry, my service was still scheduled for 8-12. I questioned him, asking if that meant that someone would be out in the next 30 minutes. He said, "yes." At 12:45 I called back. The girl on the phone this time confirmed the 3:15-time block. I asked her why the previous gentleman had told me it would still be before 12. She couldn't answer. Again I asked for a supervisor. He also apologized (by this time I was tired of apologies). He said he'd call the technician. I asked how I would know what was going on. He said he'd call me back, which, low and behold, he actually did! He told me the technician would be there between 2:00 and 3:00. I told him I had an appointment and couldn't be there, but if the technician could call my husband at work 15 minutes before he arrived, my husband could come home to meet him. He took my husband's name and number and said that is what they'd do, he was writing it in the notes to the technician. I let my husband know. So what is the end of the story? At 5:00 I called my husband to find out what happened. He said he never heard from them. I called back. Wait for it . . . they said the technician went to the house and nobody was home so he left. So much for the supervisor, Jessie, telling him to call my husband in advance so he could meet him over there. That's when I canceled the service and said that I would never use them or purchase another Kenmore appliance. My washer and dryer are less than three years old and both have had problems! PLEASE save yourself time and stress and use another company! That's what I am going to do now. read more

Terrible customer service from Sears Home Warranty. I reported a claim on my pool heater and they sent a plumbing provider that could not solve the problem. I requested to send me a technician to review the equipment and confirm what is the problem, however the company did not want to do that. I called them 5 times asking to talk to a supervisor and every time they kept telling me the supervisor would call me back but that never happened. Here I am, still waiting. Today the last time I called them, they even told me there were no supervisor available. Unbelievable. Terrible company, of course will never hire them again. read more

worse experience with technical services in my life. Where to start, first by saying that despite the fact that 4 different technicians came to my house to fix my dishwasher, it is still not fixed. The 1st technician didn't find anything wrong... like I would willingly pay a non refundable $100 fee for them to come with a perfectly working dishwasher... This 1st guy told us that it was may be because it was needing a deep clean and recommended a product that we bought through him. A few days later the product arrive and it was a washing machine one, not a dishwasher one... we then looked on internet to see if it was the same (it is not) and found out that they sold us the product 2.5 to 3 times more than it cost in retail stores !!! Bough the correct one and clean the dishwasher - still not working. The second technician came a few weeks later and because we insisted for him to keep testing our machine, he managed to see what was wrong, but was incapable to know why it was doing this, so he spent the rest of his time on the phone with another tech telling him what to do. They finally told us that our pump was bad (seems logical as the problem was that the dishwasher was doing nothing once it was filled with water...). He ordered the part and booked an appointment for the following week for somebody to come and fix our dishwasher. A couple of days before the appointment, we received an email from Sears telling us that they cancelled our appointment and that we had to call them to reschedule !!! the reason they gave us was that the technician that came last was not available on the day we agreed on so they had to reschedule for another day. That put the new appointment on a week day, meaning that we had to reshuffle our schedule and deal with time off work for that... The time for the appointment finally came and a 3rd technician arrive (yes, they rescheduled because the 2nd tech was not available on the initial agreed date but yet they sent a new technician...). This guy stayed in our house for 4 hours, most of it on the phone with somebody telling him what to do and then told my wife that he couldn't fix it and that a new tech was needing to come 2 weeks later !!! I then called Sears to complain and see what was going on. I managed to have an appointment for the next day and not 2 weeks out (washing dishes by hand everyday starts to get old...), and when I asked what was going on and what would happen if the next technician would not get my dishwasher fixed the only answer I had was "don't worry, our technicians are very good and they will for sure fix it tomorrow, no need to worry about that". So yesterday, technician number 4 came, no history of what was done before or what the problem was, and after a few minutes told my wife that he couldn't fixed it because he was needing to take the dishwasher out and he couldn't because "it was wedged in too tight and he couldn't move it" (it's a build in dishwasher). At that point, I told my wife to give up and tell him to leave and cancel all service on our dishwasher. When I arrived at home that night, it took me less than 5 minutes to get the dishwasher out of his space. I guess the technician , who is per Sears assessment "very good and will for sure fix my issue" did not realize that the dishwasher was anchored to the counter-top by 2 screws... like probably 99% of build-in dishwashers are so they don't move... So overall, we had completely under-qualified technicians who did not manage to fix our problem, we paid a non refundable $99 diagnostic fee with no good diagnostic given to us, and rather arrogant customer service that will never accept the fact that they are sending under-qualified technicians and that my only option was to trust them because for sure they would fix it the next time and that there was no point in discussing what would happened if they didn't. Absolutely useless. I consider the $99 fee as theft. We will kiss goodbye the money we gave Sears and we will buy another dishwasher and never ever use Sears again read more

We had nothing but trouble with this project. I received a date, time, and confirmation number for an in-home consultation but never got the consultation. I had one representative blatantly lie about calling my home to cancel the appointment. The roofers came out the day before a winter storm and for some reason didn't think it would be a priority to make sure all the holes they cut into the roof were repaired before they left. I woke up to find snow and sleet on the 2nd floor (apparently they couldn't figure out how to pin down a tarp either). I called the project manager and left several messages (he later claimed I had the wrong number and when I pointed out it was his name and voice I heard when I left the messages he claimed his phone must have died and he didn't get the messages). I had to call headquarters in Florida to finally get some action. Hours later a window installer was dispatched to pin down the tarp...not the roofers. For two days we had holes in the roof with tarp during below-freezing temperatures (my heater ran non-stop just to keep the house from freezing and my electric bill doubled. Turning the heater off was not an option as I have to elderly parents in the house). Then there's the quality of work. The roofers informed me on the first day they ran out of nails and would have to use different ones, and these new nails would poke through the wood. They broke through the roof without thinking about the mess they'd cause to the interior of the house (we had tons of dirt, debris, and broken wood covering the floor and furniture in three separate rooms) and, though they came back to clean, my carpets are a mess. I had to tell several workers they were putting the replacement wood in wrong and we had to complain several times about rotten wood that was left in place. The first day they were there they took off without letting us know or ask questions (and without giving us contact information). They left behind a trashed yard that resembled a dangerous obstacle course littered with trash (they even left their power tools out and plugged into my house). A satellite dish was removed from it's base but not completely taken down (it was left hanging off the side of the upper roof and will, with a stiff wind, bust the upstairs window or fall to the next level of the newly installed roof to cause some more damage). I was very disappointed that this is the quality of service a company, with the history and reputation Sears has, provides to their customers. read more

I scheduled Sears Home Services to complete an estimate for a washer repair. Their estimate was $365. On the first visit to compete the repair they informed me that an additional $40 of parts were required. Since this was not a large amount, I agreed. When they returned(again) to complete the repair they informed me that another $200 was required. At this point I advised that I would never have agreed to spend $600 to repair the washer. They advised to call the sears home services again and request to have the parts removed. After several hours on the phone to various departments I got a service representative who agreed to have the parts removed/returned, and all money paid to be returned. The parts were removed several days later, and I called to find out when the refund would be processed. They told me 21 business days would be required. After the 21 days were past I called to find out the status of the refund. After another several hours on the phone with customer service I was transferred to "customer solutions". I have now been advised that they will investigate, and I need to call back in two days to find out if/when I will be refunded. The customer service people so far have been courteous, but not knowledgeable of how to proceed. This has been an exercise in frustration. I would never use Sears Home Services again. read more

Sears has all the bells and whistles as far as making an appointment online and receiving a text message BUT their technician failed to show up, and I did not receive a call. I spent one hour with the Sears chatroom to find out what happened. The only excuse was that the scheduled tech was home sick. I waited from 8:00 to 1:00pm for them. Even received a reminder call that it was scheduled, but no technician showed. So they sent a technician out the next day and STILL COULD NOT take down a stack dryer (despite telling them I had a stack unit) to fix problem. They seem clueless about repairs, even if they got the stack unit down! I have called another repair service in Houston that has a cart for taking down a stack unit. This company answered the phone and will be to house tomorrow. No fancy technology for scheduling appointments but hopefully this translate to a knowledgeable person who focuses on repairing!! I wasted a week with Sears. And, think, I almost bought a Kenmore to replace the unit!! Save yourself time and trouble and find a private repair appliance repair company. Not sure how SEARS stays in business. Pitiful. read more

I hesitated to call Sears to come out to repair my broken fridge due to all the negative reviews but since I bought the appliance from Sears I decided to try them again. The last time I used them was four years ago for a broken ice maker and felt like i was greatly overcharged. Anyway, my experience this time was very pleasant. The technician was very knowledgeable and was able to diagnose and fix my fridge in no time. He was very polite and careful. The only reason I didn't give five stars is due to the scheduling over the phone. It seems like they use a foreign call center so I had a hard time understanding the lady on the phone and she did not follow the instructions I gave for the appointment. Other than that I am very satisfied and will use them again. read more

He started throwing around numbers that sounded great so e signed up but then it cost more than what he said. He charged us more than what he said and bolted without giving a receipt, I've tried calling to get a receipt and still haven't gotten one. All of a sudden, the wheels started falling off the lower rack of our dishwasher and then ball bearings started falling out of the upper rack so that it wouldn't pull out completely. We called for service under our protection agreement; the first visit required that additional parts be ordered even though I'd described exactly what was happening. Once the parts arrived, the second visit was effective in replacing the parts. The repair technician was quick and efficient, and friendly as well. There was no charge to us for either visit as the work was covered under our protection agreement. read more

We subscribe to their warranty and here is our story. 1. Kitchenaid built-in refrigerator broke down 6 times during the past 2 years and Sears keeps sending technicians to repair it but to no avail. At least 14 technicians inspected the fridge at different times and none of them could solve the problem. Anyway, we asked Sears to provide us a replacement and they sent another technician to 'check' and make sure the repair cannot be done. Again, the tech melted the ice built-up and told us it's now working. The fridge works only for 2 months after each repair and our food was spoilt as a result of the ice built-up, poor cold air circulation etc. We cannot even open the freezer compartment. It is also a waste of time having to wait from 8am to 5pm during each appointment. We are not asking for another built-in fridge but Sears does not even acknowledge that the fridge is beyond repair. 2. Kitchenaid Cooktop. One of the burners was not working and after the Sears tech checked the condition, he quoted $500 for repair and Sears offered us a new one or cash. Sears then informed us that there's another brand which might or might not fit the cut out we have in the granite countertop. We were unable to measure the size of the cut out as the old cooktop is still connected to the gas line. We informed Sears that we are unable to ascertain if the new model would fit and trust that their tech would have made the right measurement and recommend one that would fit. Haha...how wrong we were! Another supplier Cross Country Home Services delivered the new cooktop, and lo and behold, it did not fit! We had to engage our own granite cutter and pay an extra $300 to enlarge the cut out. Returning the new cooktop is not an option as Cross Country would charge us 'restocking' fees, a whopping $500! 3. Dishwasher. It took 6 months to have it repaired. Meanwhile, we continued to wash pots and pans by hand in the sink. We also have to co-pay $75 for the repair. It's just aggravation having to deal with Sears warranty service. read more

Nope, 2pm came & went so we called First American who put us on hold while they contacted them. After waiting a gazillion years they came back stating the Sears "The Donkey-Balls Sucking" technician was running behind 2 hours. Golly, thanks for calling us & letting us know! I just love wasting a day waiting! 4pm came & went (I'm sure you know where this is headed). Yep - no show. So we called again & got the donkey-balls sucking tech's phone number. He put us on hold over 30 minutes only to come back to tell us he wasn't going to make it and his next availability was in 26 days. You have got to be freakin kidding me! This donkey-balls sucking extraordinaire was completely indifferent towards us & didn't apologize. What a f*cking jack wagon. So if you want to sit around on a lovely weekend held captive by their schedule call these donkey-balls sucking morons. read more

Do not use Sears Appliance repair. They are inept, and scheduling for a repair is a joke. I'm awaiting the repair man who is 1&1/2 hours late and am told nothing but that he will call me when on the way. This will be the third visit. The first visit identified the problem but ordered the wrong part, and the on thesecond visit the repairman identified the wrong part. Not sure I'll even see a technician today. This is all arranged through the Sears Home Service policy which I cannot advise anyone to purchase. read more

This is by far the worst repair company we've ever used. Our washer went out and the quote from Samsung was nearly $600, so we decided to go with Sears, what with their decades of being one of the leading tool sellers and DIY stores, figuring it would be more reasonable. What a terrible mistake, the first visit the technician concluded it was the clutch motor. We ordered the part and had them replace it, no dice. That same technician then said it was the main control board. So we ordered that. A new technician installs the control board, manages to get it going "past the point of the last failure". He calls it good, I assume he knows what he's talking about....not 20 minutes after he leaves the washer goes out. I immediately call Sears to tell them it's not working again, they tell me they'll tell the technician to come back. No-show. At this point we're nearing $500 with no resolution in sight. We throw in the towel and buy a new washer that same day. I call Sears and tell them that I want my money back since they essentially did absolutely nothing. I tell them the new washer comes in two days and they have until then to come get their parts or they're being hauled off with the washer. They didn't come. I repeatedly call and tell them I want a refund since they have a 90 day guarantee and they're work didn't fix the issue and forced us to go buy a new washer because we had already gone over 2 weeks without one. They apparently file the paperwork, "you'll hear back in 24-48 hours". Crickets..... Well after 48 hours we finally get an email saying they couldn't contact us.....yes, they contacted us and told us they couldn't contact us....let that one sink in..... So we call them back, they try to give us the run around saying the parts were installed so they couldn't give us a refund. Unfortunately for them, the first technician removed the original replacement clutch motor and did not charge us since it didn't fix the issue. So at least that one guy had some integrity. I tell them that I'm not paying for anything, I'm not paying for the labor of a technician who didn't know what they were doing, I could've had my 4 year old work on it for an hour with the exact same result, at the low low price of 3 skittles. I tell them I'm not paying for their parts since they obviously weren't the issue. Then I proceed to tell them that they will most definitely be hearing from the BBB and consumer protection agency, and possibly our lawyer. Luckily we removed the parts in question from the washer before having it hauled off. My wife talks to another rep and they agree to issue a refund for the parts if we can send them back. But no refund for the labor. We take the deal. However, I'm still filing complaints seeing as how I had to take off work 3 separate days for them to come out and do nothing. I will be seeking repayment of the labor charges and reimbursement for my time off work. "Will I be recommending Sears for home repairs to my friends and family?", they ask. I almost laughed, but I was too angry, so I simply told them no, I won't, because I'm completely UNsatisfied with their work. Using a more colorful way to express my thoughts. "We understand and hope you keep Sears in mind for any future repairs you may need"......which serves as proof that they don't care, or understand at all about their customers. Not only will I be avoiding their services, I'll be avoiding their stores. I won't even buy one pair of socks from Sears again. read more

Have been there twice to get a filter for my fridge and both times they sold me the wrong one! I mean it should be on the computer also even though I can't remember when I go in which one! So double trips to return! Also, bought a Kenmore $1500 side by side a couple of years ago as the sales guy told me it was a Whirlpool...well, not so! Found out it is a LG model made for Kenmore! Which I had decidedly not wanted! The ice maker on the door leaked all over my wood floor and ruined the floor (we were away when it happened!). Paid for a service trip and the guy for $100 just oiled it somehow. A month later it happened again! And this fridge was just a little over one year old! Another trip charge and the repairman told me it was useless...the flapper for the ice won't close all the way and it is a defect in that model! So even replacing the door would make it happen again! So now a year later I am making my own ice the old fashioned way because Sears would not give me more than a 15% discount on a new one even though it is a model defect! Sears repair service has certainly declined. I requested service to clean the duct on my dryer and up through the attic. First of all, the first person they sent only cleaned the dryer to the wall and when I asked about the attic, he said since I found this much it most likely was the problem. It was not! Same problem with condensation building up and clothes not drying. I contacted him and he told me a dryer technician needs to look at it since the vent was cleaned. I called Sears and they sent another person with another fee and he said it was not the dryer, but the vent. I called Sears and even spoke to a supervisor (Sheena) who was very rude and acted as if I didn't know what I was talking about. She assigned another person and when he made the courtesy call...it was the second person that had already been to my home and said it was the duct from the wall through the attic. I was so sick of Sears that I couldn't fight any more. I contacted another company and he went up on the roof and the vent was clogged and he used a dryer vacuum and there was a lot of lent in the line. I've decided to leave Sears alone. Never again. Called them to service my washer/dryer based on my warranty. Service person shows up late and spends all of 20 minutes turning my machines on/off and spends most of his time upselling me to sign up for another warranty since mine is expiring. I call 1-800-301-8290 to let them know about the visit, they apologize and schedule a "make good" maintenance visit for today. Took time off from work and 2 minutes after the estimated arrival window of time expired, I get a phone call stating my appointment was cancelled because I'm not entitled to 2 maintenance visits in 1 year. I called 1800-4-my-home and the customer support line 1-888-301-8290 got transferred 2X each then put on perpetual hold. When I countered their argument by explaining that a 2nd appointment would not have been necessary if the maintenance work was done right the first time, they offer to transfer me and put me on hold. I know they do that in the hopes that you hang up. Well congrats! I gave up after 5 attempts. Never again! read more

Saturday service took a little while since it was a busy day for the tech but washing machine problem was diagnosed & repaired quickly on arrival. Repair pricing was clear & reasonable. Was offered extra warranty coverage but was able to decline it with no sales pressure. read more

I have used Sears for appliances for decades and will go out of my way to NEVER use them again. I had an appt. schedule for refridgerator repair during the hours of 10am-2pm today. At 12:30; I get a phone call about rescheduling. I had no idea what she was talking about. Apparently, they overbooked so no one was coming. I was informed they could reschedule me for next week. No apology, no compensation- nada. I was just supposed to wait a week to have my fridge fixed- it doesn't work at all( it's 2 days before Thanksgiving!) After an hour, they just kept saying "Sorry, we overbooked. I know it is frustrating. We can't do anything about it." Seriously, if you overbooked me today AND canclelled midway through my wait; I should have the first appt tomorrow! I missed a day of work waiting and was expected to miss another because they can't get it together. NEVER will I use them again. WORST SERVICE EVER!!! read more

The company that services my warranty uses this company. They are terrible!!! I have been rescheduled 6 times. I have taken off work and paid people to be at the house for me. One of their repairmen Robert even told me that if I was unhappy with their service I probably should get someone else. Of course, If I had the choice I would get someone else but it is through a warranty company. Sears appliance repair service is a total rip-off!!! Avoid!! I called them to fix a Samsung fridge; ice maker was not working and freezer was not getting cold enough. First, they have a $99 service call fee, which is not applied toward any service provided, you are just out $99 right off the bat. I've found out that this is about twice what many other repair services charge, and they apply the $ toward any repairs made. When the Sears tech showed up, he immediately began trying to sell me on Sears' home warranty service, which I declined repeatedly. He also gave me his cel phone # and told me to call him on the weekend, b/c he was a lot cheaper than going through Sears! Then he spent almost 45 minutes doing "diagnostics" on his laptop. He said he was going to try the "least expensive" fix first, but it might not work, so he might have to come back again. This fix consisted of a "deep cleaning" of the fan and intake valve thingy, which he said would take a long time. I said OK, and he vacuumed it out with a shop vac. He did not clean the coil or anything. I could have done this myself with the help of a YouTube video! It took him about 10 minutes total. He was putting the screws back in before I knew it. For this service, the total bill was $270!! Sears' mark up on service and parts is outrageous -- it should be illegal. I am still kicking myself for paying it. The fridge was not fixed, and I had to call another repair service. I also had to take time off from work to be at home for these service appointments, which was a totally aggravating waste of time. Sears service was terrible in every way. No wonder they are going out of business!! I had an expensive learning experience. Read the Yelp reviews first, do not just trust an old American iconic business name! read more

Warning! Stay clear of Sear's extended warranty plan! We bought a GE washer dryer from Sears. It has been a wonderful set, then a major noise started which we put up with too long, because the clothes were still clean. Then decided to call Sears to have the bothersome sound fixed. They came out 25th of June the first time , but needed to order parts. A week later they were to come out again, but the part HAD NOT EVEN BEEN ORDERED. The second man came out a week later and totally BROKE the machine, so no longer can use the washer. A week later I called to say the part hadn't come in, a week later two men came out, when they left, the spinner didn't spin. At that point we went to Lowes and bought the same updated GE washer dryer. Bottom line. A machine has to be repaired successfully three times then they will replace your machine. One month and 2 days later we bit the bullet and bought a new one from someone else. Because we had not had ONE successful repair. read more

Appointment times are a joke. Tech has used "my truck broke down" excuse three of times. No way to talk to someone on this side of the planet for help. If I could give them a zero I would. We have a broken dishwasher pump that died on July 4th. We called the next day for service from Sears, where we bought the dishwasher. They came a couple of days later, 1 hour after the time mentioned (1-5pm; a 4-hour window). The guy was nice and I think correctly diagnosed the problem of a broken pump (one star). The part was ordered and.....nothing but trouble. We called to get the pump put in to get the pump installed and were told the earliest install was 7/19 (this is now 2 weeks after the dishwasher broke). Again the 1-5pm window to wait and no one showed up. The Sears folks we called didn't seem to know where there repair person was, then tried to claim, at 7pm, that we had cancelled the appt ourselves, that we hadn't answered the door when they showed up. We have 2 dogs that go nuts when someone rings the doorbell, so if anyone had shown up, we would have known. They then tried to reschedule the repair for 7/26, a full three weeks after the break. No thanks, there are other repairmen in town. They are REALLY slow, incompetent and the customer service is useless. DO NOT USE. read more

Took two visits as the first technician didn't have a main part for the maintenance / repair service. He said it wasn't covered by the service plan. Two weeks later the second technician got the job done and said it was covered and I'll be getting some money back. Not bad. It is a portable generator.
