I had an extremely disappointing experience with Second Life Appliance Repair that I feel compelled to share. I was initially quoted $59 for a service call--a reasonable and competitive fee--which led me to schedule an appointment. It was a Sunday evening, and I was unable to reach my warranty company regarding my refrigerator that stopped cooling. Unfortunately, what followed was far from professional. The technician, Asher, arrived late and spent over three hours at my home attempting to diagnose the issue. His demeanor and approach did not inspire confidence. Alarmingly, at one point, there were visible sparks and a strong burning smell--clear indicators of a serious safety hazard and, frankly, a red flag regarding his level of expertise. When a technician from my warranty company arrived the next morning, I was informed that the sparking had caused further damage, which ultimately voided my warranty. To make matters worse, the technician left without providing a written quote. Instead, he vaguely mentioned several inconsistent and unreasonably high estimates for parts and labor--all delivered in very broken English. I was then surprised to receive an invoice for the service call for $276--nearly five times the originally quoted service call fee. There was no breakdown of charges, no written quote, and no prior approval for any additional fees. At no point was there a clear explanation or agreement regarding costs beyond the initial service call. My only request was for a written quote, but I was instead given a series of wildly varying verbal estimates for work that was supposedly to be performed at a later date. This experience left me feeling misled, overcharged, and genuinely concerned about the quality and safety of the service provided. Based on this encounter, I cannot recommend Second Life Appliance Repair and strongly advise others to proceed with caution. Furthermore, I respectfully request that the invoice be revised to reflect the original $59 service call fee--or waived entirely, given the damage caused--so that I do not need to pursue this matter further through legal channels. read more

We reached out to Second Life to help fix a squeaking dryer. They were responsive and sent a repair tech right away. I was not home but had a friend let them in to work on dryer. I asked if the tech could contact me on WhatsApp or Signal when he got there so I could see the problem. He took video of the problems and sent to me on WhatsApp. Way better than I had hoped. He showed me the worn parts and even had replacements in his truck. Within an hour he diagnosed, we agreed on issues to be fixed, and he fixed and tested that it was operating. Details: Source for Squeaking noise 1) Front side drum rotation bearing gliders 2) Rear side drum glider 3) Belt rotation roller However, the dryer no longer dried as fast as it had before. We contacted Second Life. They arranged another visit and he came back at an agreed upon time to resolve. Long story short, he ultimately couldn't fix the drying time. To resolve our impasse, Second Life offered to keep trying or offered a refund for the amount we had paid for the first fix. We ultimately took the refund and will be buying new. A new dryer will cost more in the end, but I appreciated both the honest effort and the honesty. read more

Second Life is a good source for repairs on appliances. Both Sean and Vladimir were knowledgeable and were very willing to work with my concerns. I would recommend them and also to ask up from about all costs involved including labor, parts and drive time. All are included in the estimate. I learned this after the fact and am now more knowledgeable about how an estimate can be far higher than one might expect. was charged for manual labor, even though the only thing the technician did was zip tie some a hose to a wall nothing was actually wrong with my washer when it was leaking just the trap was not completely locked so for that I was charged $189. In response to my review I was contacted bye the office manager. She apologized for my experience and wanted to fix the situation and was sorry for any misunderstanding. My clothes dryer broke and I called various companies at 10:30. Nick was the first to call me and he scheduled a tech to come between 11-1:30 that same day. The tech arrived by 11:30 and the problem was fixed by 1pm! That is insane turn around time and service. Their price was fair given the scope of the repair and their diagnostic fee was cheaper than other companies that quoted me. I highly recommend this company.
