    Lots of candy
    Nola F.

I grew up eating See's candy. It is my absolute favorite. I bought a couple candy bars here to enjoy on my vacation. The lady offered us samples as they always do. There was a decent selection of candy by the piece. I was hoping for much more. This is a much smaller See's store compared to their other Los Angeles stores They were out of the Bordeaux which is my favorite. I finally gave up and bought my three pounds to take back to Florida from a different See's location. The candy is delicious here but they have maybe 1/3 of what other stores offer. That is too little to choose from for me.

My husband and I just finished the cutest Valentine's Day movie at AMC and walked by See's Candies. I was excited to see they were still open and immediately when we walked in we were greeted by the incredibly friendly staff member Angel. Angel offered us samples which were so good. We had the chocolate candy filled with caramel, California crunch, polar bear claw, and vanilla caramel chews. I really wanted the pecan roll but they said they didn't get any in their shipment this time. That was such a bummer. I've never been to a See's that didn't have it before. The inside of the store was so pretty with its Valentine's Day decorations. I love that See's Candies stores always have the best vibes.

The moment you walk in, you're greeted with that classic See's warmth and yes, the free sample that always sets the tone. The store is clean, well-organized, and fully stocked with all the favorites, great selection of holiday gifts, varieties of lollipop, & all time favorite their perfectly creamy truffles.

Thought this was a candle place at 1st, lol. Wondered why there such a long line for candles. They give you full-sized chocolate samples! What is this place? I stared at the 1st sample for a min, & had to confirm if it was actually a sample. Anyway, I tried dark chocolate: 1) 5/5 truffles: heart-shaped, rich chocolate flavor, these were my fave 2) 3/5 marzipan cream: too sweet 3) 3/5 maple wafer: way too sweet 4) 5/5 coffee cream 5) 3/5 Black Forest truffles ($10/box) : Wish the outer dark chocolate layer was darker & less sweet, 65% cacao would be perfect. The cherry flavor is slightly tart, could def be more tart.

See's candies are quite sweet but it's a nice gift option as souvenir! I like the caramel peanut candy

See's Candy was my grandma's favorite chocolate when she lived in California. Her sisters and relatives remained in the area and mailed her packages of candies for special occasions. Her favorite chocolates were dark chocolate covered caramels. The Grove location is tucked away in a corner. However, it's a cute spot. The staff are very attentive and helpful. I purchased the egg nog truffles just to try and of course my own hand selected box of chocolate caramels. My grandma is not around to share her favorite caramels with me. So around this time of year, I purchase a box for the both of us. I look forward to enjoying candies and her favorite Christmas songs on Christmas Eve with a smile.

Every time I'm at The Grove, I stop at See's Candies is a must! It's one of the best chocolate shops around, perfect for gifts or a sweet treat for yourself. Their customer service is top-notch; you're always greeted warmly and often offered samples. During my last visit, I tried the white chocolate-covered strawberry, which was irresistible. I snagged a couple of those, but I was really there for my favorite: the milk chocolate Bordeaux. You have the option of choosing between, half pound boxes (up to 12 pieces) , pound, and 2-3 pound boxes. I chose the 1 pound (about 24-26 pieces) for $30. This location is smaller, so it can get busy during holidays, but I was lucky to find it empty that day. While See's doesn't usually have discounts, they were offering a $5 off coupon for purchases through November, stop by and snag you one! A helpful tip: if you spend $30 or more, they validate your parking for up to one hour, which is a nice bonus to avoid the $5 parking fee. I'll definitely keep coming back to See's!

It was so hot and humid out. We walked into See's to grab some chocolate and ended up with a bunch. It was so cool in there. The place is spotless and the service is ever so nice. They have everything you might want in the way of chocolate. They have caramel pops, chocolate pops, small items for a snack and so many boxes already made up that you can have a great sampling of whatever you like. They have dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate and the fillings, just oh my, they have cream and nuts, they have ones with a touch of alcohol, they even have seasonal candies and all for you. You can buy one piece or pounds and pounds. You can have a sample. They have a great selection out and a person waiting to help you. For what you are getting the prices are so fair. You will love this place.

See's Candies was established in 1921 in LA. It was our first time visiting a See's Candies shop. I know it's a staple in California. So I've always wanted to visit and check it out for myself. It's a very clean looking shop. See's Candies has high quality chocolates for sale. You won't be disappointed in buy chocolate from here. Apparently, you can get one free sample of your choice. We were unaware until they came up offering us a taste of some chocolate which is a rare treat these days. We some teens asking for a sample of the chocolate of their choice. It seems like you can get try whatever you want one time without buying anything. My wife got one of the lollipops for our son and he really liked it so much. Next time, I will have to get pop for myself.

The manager always will put together My personal choice every piece my favorite

During the holiday season, that kind of just passed, I could not escape IG reels that romanticized…read morethe power of hot chocolate. Apparently, it can be so rich and thick (European Style) that it is part healing warmth and the other part just wildly delicious. So I decided to go ahead and find a cup of thick, and rich cocoa to hit me with holiday splendor, the kind that can re-assemble Frosty after his final melt. My friend Conrad and I were the duo who ventured to ChocoVivo to try chocolate, on chocolate, on chocolate, with some water on the side. ChocoVivo is in Culver City. The place itself is on Washington Blvd amidst some bars, and eateries. This place lends itself to be a dessert spot, an experience for chocolate lovers and those who are not, and anyone who just wants to experience the taste of chocolate in-depth and in odd luxury. As soon, as I entered, I made a beeline for the counter. I was overwhelmed with all the chocolatey choices: pastries, drinks, squares, with the list continuing exhaustively, it even included a chocolate skull that might serve better as decoration than a treat. I excused myself and went to use the restroom, I dared not ask questions to understand my options, when my bladder was full. I might make rash decisions, due to my inability to focus. And with so many options in front of me, I wanted to sample what was right and balanced for me. I wanted to sample chocolate, I just did not just want to taste chocolate. My trip to the facilities was a small adventure in itself. I passed a room with a man working on his laptop. But the room, seemed to be, like a Sultan's rest-room. It had pillows, hanging lamps, and a cream like colored that reminded me of sun-kissed sand. I clipped the room. There is a Minion (from Illumination fame) chilling in one of the couches. Another picture shows, a fishing net (maybe) with make-shift clouds pouring out of it, also leafs and butterflies. It seemed to be the remains of a shipwreck but it also held decorations that could have made the space more beautiful. I believe, and I could be wrong, of course, that this room used to be functional. A place to lounge, and see beauty, while enjoying chocolate. Now it was a forgotten room, whose purpose never fulfilled, and thus had stuff scattered around. I am sure, everyone can relate to that feeling, of getting stuff for an imagined room that never quite materializes and thus the room becomes storage, more than anything. Kondo deliver us! After, I came to the cashier, I ordered a hot chocolate. Conrad made a point, that the hot chocolate I ordered was not the European sipping hot chocolate that I had talked about on our car ride there. He then. made a point, that I should read a menu and then ask questions. I ask questions, as I read the menu. I eventually, ordered two hot chocolates, (one for him and one for me) and then we sampled 12 chocolate squares--- a sampler. The total was close to 60.00 dollars so this is an experience that is not going to the local mart and buying a Hershey's bar. The 12 chocolate samples were just great and enough, there were bigger samples, which I considered buying, but the price deterred me. The one that I got was super appropriate for both of us, by the end I was enjoying slightly by force, I mustered the strength to finish the half marathon. The full marathon would have tapped me out. The samples came with a card. Conrad was the one who was consulting the card, so we could not what chocolate we ate. It was truly fun, to be with someone who read of the information of the card, and then we tried to identify the taste as the card described. I wish I would have taken a picture of the card, but honestly, I am more of a determine by taste taster than a person who wants to be informed of what he is tasting, to know what he is tasting. I do remember the worst tasting chocolate we tasted--- it had black tea infused into it, I do not remember its cacao percentage, each chocolate had a cacao percentage. The hire the percentage, the sweeter the chocolate. The black tea had this earthy and tea taste that was profound. I guess imagine tasting. a black tea without sugar that is kind of the taste I struggled with. I am glad I tasted this chocolate, however, because it was part of the whole experience. I did not drive to the beach and endure a pothole, I drove to the beach and was both intrigued and jolted by the bounce that the pothole produced. Some chocolates I really enjoyed, the hot chocolate was goodness in a cup. The chocolate sampler also came with an espresso that was split into two cups. I was provided a knife to cut each chocolate. I put the knife in the center with one arm, and use the other hand to pierce the chocolate. My halfs were not perfect. Sometimes Conrad got the bigger half square, sometimes I did. I annotate all this so one knows that when you visit ChocoVivo you will need to work, if you want to split those chocolates, but the work was part of the fun!

TAWDI appeared highly rated, but it was also basically the only choice. Walking in to Mickey Mouse greeting you, it's a very homely, organized, and oddly empty shop with some Middle Eastern influence. They are big on marketing for their Dubai chocolate offerings, which I did try. The lady who helped was very kind, offering us each a sample by the chocolate type we liked. As she explained how they make chocolate in the back daily, I had to inquire about popular selections and what some flavors were. Basically, they seem to focus on Dubai chocolates and have some imported goods from Lebanon. While I trust that they make chocolates daily, I have to question how much, what flavors, and what is being turned over, because the sample I ate and the chocolates I opened up later certainly had obvious chocolate bloom, and yes they were stored at an appropriate temperature and eaten on the same day. At the price these pieces were, they certainly shouldn't have chocolate bloom nor taste like old chocolate. The filling of their Dubai bar was nice, crunchy, and moist, but the exterior chocolate shell didn't really have a taste. I am fine with paying a premium for premium-tasting chocolate and often do it, but I would have preferred eating grocery store chocolate, honestly. I'm not sure what others are tasting or whether people reviewing TAWDI are actually into chocolate, but I was disappointed when I didn't enjoy these.

We left the store and purchased a couple of the pre packed milk chocolate and the strawberry chocolate. We can't wait to comeback to try other types of chocolates on Laderach's menu.

They tend to give that one out as samples. The other chocolates are good as well. So I usually get a mixtures from the display case and some packaged ones. I do have to say the staffs could be judgy, which sukz. Sometimes, they will offer me some samples and sometimes, I do just ask for it. I feel it would be better if they just ask all the customers. That way customers will not feel left out or having the feeling of being treated differently.

Highly recommend the mango cruffin~ Note: not a lot of seating inside or outside and since they're a popular spot they run out of cold brew pretty quickly. Spot is really good for bringing as gifts/food to events and treats holds well throughout the week :)

There was already a line to get in at this time. They were fully stocked on their croissants and I was bummed to see that they only had two savory options: Greek Princess ($5.50) and Ham & Cheese ($6). The Burbank location has at least four savory options to choose from. Still, their croissants are so good - huge and perfectly flaky. When it comes to desserts, I always get a Napoleon ($9) since it's my favorite and they make it well. I tried the Tropical Mango ($11) and Framboiselle ($9.50) for the first time and they were really good! They have both become a new favorite of mine and I will order them again! Service was great as well. I just wish that they would carry more savory croissants at this location.

This review is long overdue, especially considering I have been having Teuscher chocolates for over…read more10 years and have followed them across the street from the original location, to the new owners. Let's begin with the most important thing you must know - Teusher chocolates is the absolute James Bond of all chocolates. They are smooth, sophisticated and always ready to impress. A bold statement, but I stand by it. I have grabbed these for anniversary gifts, mother's day gifts, bday gifts and they never dissapoint. The shop itself is an absolute fairy and flowery wonderland of delights and imagination. The detail to their truffle boxes and assortments are incredible. I highly recommend their champagne truffles, however, in all fairness, any chocolate you get is a win for your taste buds. Their mocha hot drink is also rich and decadent in flavor, do not miss out on their beverages. Mr. & Mrs. Truffle and the staff are also just so kind and inviting. They are knowledgeable and patient, and helpful with recommendations. The shop along with the staff is just a warm place. It is not just a treat, it's a staple in the city. Their chocolate definately shows the experience that has been perfected for almost a century in Switzerland and has been serving the city for over 40 years. That says a lot! Do yourself a favor and visit this cute little chocolate heaven.

They have some really interesting flavors including lavender, butterscotch, champagne, apricot, vodka etc. They also have chocolates in fun shapes like airplanes or dogs. It's a family run business and the owners are there which I love. They also have adorable little characters that make cute gifts. They are pricey but definitely worth the splurge. They currently have really nice assortments for Chankukah and Christmas if you want something ready made. They also had some beautiful cards to include. Lastly, they also sell coffee drinks.
