I am so surprised by the other reviews! I love this place so much I feel I must defend some of the silly comments. "Non-Japanese of some sort," how can you make this claim unless you ask? In fact, one of the owners is Japanese. What does it matter anyways?! We go to other cuisines with no expectations of the race of our service. The prices are actually pretty good for the quality and style of food. Go to other Japanese restaurants and compare the prices. I receive complimentary dishes most times I visit this place. Not a big fan of raw fish but the rolls with cooked ingredients are awesome! The salad dressing and teriyaki sauce are home made. This place is very busy at lunch but why wouldn't it be with the nice environment and mostly friendly staff. I say this kindly. Most of the staff are super sweet and nice. However, there are a couple that haven't completely mastered the customer service skill. The parking is a little tough because it is a decent size lot with a number of other businesses fighting for consumers. We are in day that convenience means much more to consumers than anything else however consumers complain about every little thing! Be open when you visit Sendo Sushi and you will find that you love it! I bring all of my family and friends here and we all love it! read more

My only problem is that my friend and I would end up sitting right next to two customers without any spacings between the tables. The place is just small. You would think that a place that is a central location for many businesses would want and care about providing better quality and customer care. I had been seated exactly at noon however it took the waitress over 20 minutes to take our order and then another 20 minutes for the food to be delivered. "JAIN SUSHI!!" Yes you heard me correct. Being a jain I never imagined a vegetarian sushi let alone jain sushi. But upon high recommendation of a colleague at work I landed here for lunch. And to my surprise I was attended by very patient and humble lady, her name is Sunny and she listened to all my restrictions and assured me that she will get a Bento Box for me exactly the way I described. For those who dont know what is bento box, it is analogous to indian thali. Bento box has few veggie rolls, tofu and stir fried veggies, rice, veggie tempura and salad. The best part is they provide me with separate chili sauce without onions and garlic so that I dont feel that my meal is bland. And to my surprise this ended up being the best asian food I have ever had. Since then I have become regular customer here and everytime I go in I just have to ask for my special order and it will be prepared exactly same each time. read more

This place gets busy at lunch, so plan accordingly. Actually, it's harder to find parking here than it is to get a table. The bento boxes for lunch are the winner here, but they make credible sushi and the sashimi that I had today hit the spot. Other reviewers have mentioned this, but do yourself a favor and go pee-pee before you leave wherever you are to come here. That being said the food never disappoints, the staff is extremely friendly and if you're looking to learn some gossip / dirt about some of the big networking firms in the area (yes, that one and that other one) just go here by yourself at lunch, try to look busy and listen around you. This place is as good a sushi bar / bento box palace as you can get in a strip mall. If it were on the East Coast anywhere outside of NYC it would be "THE BEST SUSHI EVER", but it's not, so it gets 4 stars from me. Eat here if you like Japanese food. read more

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE SERVICE. We went there to have sushi (you know, since they call themselves Sendo SUSHI !!!!) for lunch. When the waiter came, who by the way spoke little English, right away told us if we order sushi it will take a long time. Instead, she kept showing us the Veggie Bento Box in the menu (probably because we are Indian). So, we reluctantly ordered Bento box. However, we noticed diners lest and right, including those who came after us was being served sushi. After few minutes the waiter came and took away my friend's plate without even asking him, clearly indicating it is time to leave, even though the place seemed not that busy. I decided to choose Sendo Sushi for my first review simply because they're great! I've been coming here for lunch (sometimes dinner) for years with a co-worker and let me just say that we always look forward to our monthly sushi. I usually have a bento box (teriyaki chicken/sushi rolls/miso soup/salad/rice). This is hands down the best teriyaki chicken I've had. It hits the spot every time! The sushi is pretty fresh and tasty as well. Aside from the food, the customer service is suberb. The ladies always have their friendly smile and they try to work with the tiny restaurant size to the best of their ability. This is why I give them four stars. For lunch time, the wait time is uaully 10 minutes or more and well the poor ladies can only fit enough people in one table. You'll probably be sitting with some strangers but nothing you can't live with. After years of coming here, my friend and I made it easier on ourselves (and them) by calling and ordering ahead of time so it can be ready by the time we're there. This has saved us lots of time and patience. Overall, great place! read more

The service is spotty - it can be good or bad depending on the day and the amount of customers, but the food (overall) is good. There are a lot of choices for the bento boxes and the sashimi is quite decent. Compared to a lot of south bay sushi places, this place is consistently good. Fish is fresh, portions are good, prices are even better. The only neutral/negative is the service, but if you can get past that, it's a good choice for the immediate surrounding area. Very good food, from the bento boxes to the rolls. Crowded at lunch time...get there on weekdays at 11:30.....or AFTER 1 PM. The waitresses are AWESOME....you always get some sort of complimentary item, whether it's an "experimental" roll, or free edamame. Miso is flavorful, not much IN it, but very good. It is CONSISTENTLY good....we go every week and the C-4 (chicken teri w/ potstickers and Cali roll....soup, salad etc.) is always the same....very very good! My favorite though, is the salmon kama....grilled salmon 'cheeks'. EXCELLENT...if there were 6 stars, I'd give them! The fried rolls are great, and it's just a good time everytime we go. Again, the ladies are delightful and attentive. One other thing....sometimes I go there for a late dinner if I have to work late....they are open til 9 pm. The first time I went in at 8:15, I was hesitant, as I don't like going into restaurants right before they close...they were waving me inside! I've gone in there as late as 8:30, and when I voiced my concern, they said...."oh no, we're here to make you happy" and they really mean it! I just don't understand the 2 star ratings....maybe these people need to give Sendo another chance! read more
