I have celiac and a dairy allergy. We are visiting the area and I spent a ton of time researching safe foods during our trip and found this place. My husband is not always a fan of the places I am able to safely eat because often gluten free food is not really palatable for gluten eaters. That being said, this place was a massive win. We both loved our meals! I felt completely safe eating here and had no negative reaction. Earnest was incredibly kind and helpful! The rice bowl is wonderful. I am very picky with my tofu bc I don't love when its bland but this was far from a concern here. The tofu is really well sauced and prepared before even picking your own sauce. All the vegtables are made well. I personally enjoyed the kale a lot. I highly recommend if you also like poke bowls. Ambiance: how can I put this kindly - there were only four metal chairs (by the window on two opposing sides), and no tables when I was there...I think there are seating set up like "bleachers" against the wall. I am certain that staff would have explained, if I had inquired. I wasn't sure as I thought they were either still renovating or clearing things out, adhering to COVID protocol. So it's neither a cozy nor sterile eatery. Service: fast food service set up. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Foods: I had bulgogi, purple rice with add ons of corn, cucumbers, bean sprouts, kale, radish and carrot-ginger dressing. Overall, my bowl was good but I paid almost $15 for this small bowl. Even though the food was decent, I will not return just based on how expensive my small rice bowl costed. Chipotle meets Korean and it works surprisingly well. It had been over two weeks since I'd eaten Korean food, having just moved to MD and not having Korean right in my neighborhood. So I was definitely a-jonesing when we saw this place on our way to a museum. I had a spicy-pork salad with almost all the veggies, the gochujang and sriracha mayo; hubby had bulgogi rice bowl with gochujang and almost all the veggies. Both of us really enjoyed our food. I think they have a location in Silver Spring, which I may start getting takeout from for lunch because this is a great healthy lunch. They don't have quite the same veggies that a normal bibimbap would have, the options are kimchi, pickled radish, kale slaw, corn, bean sprouts, carrots I believe. Some of which are in bibimbap, others not so much. But I liked that they listed the calories by everything, even though I didn't like that the meat I wanted had the most calories of all of them, haha. To me, the bulgogi seemed to be cut much thicker than a traditional bulgogi, but the marinade was pretty typical. The spicy pork was pretty much what I was used to. Overall, definitely a fusion place rather than super duper authentic but still delicious and healthy. I think I could have split the salad into two meals, but realistically more like one and a half. I ate it all at once though since I couldn't carry it, and I wasn't exploding. Hubby couldn't quite finish the rice bowl. Now I'm jonesing for some real bibimbap too. And dak galbi. And tteokbokki. Darn it. I better get over to h-mart and buy some gochujang and rice cakes so I can make some. read more

After a lot of walking around DC, we stopped here for lunch. Upon walking in I noticed there wasn't much seating, a couple stools near the windows and riser-like benches to sit on in the middle of the restaurant. I wished there were more tables. Staff were nice. Unfortunately they were out of a lot of the protein options at the time, so I took a chance and got the tofu. My base was japchae noodles, and I added all the veggies. Topped it off with yum yum sauce and the hot sauce, sesame oil and sesame seeds. I loved that they had toppings like cilantro and scallions! Now, I will say that I am a big fan of bibibop and the food there is very similar. But in my opinion, and to my surprise, SeoulSpice is much better by far! The protein (tofu) had so much flavor and the texture of it went well with the crunchy vegetables. Everything was so fresh. SeoulSpice definitely has a new customer! Next time I'll try a location with some seating, but I definitely recommend if you are looking for something quick while in the area! read more

Super tasty and friendly staff! Chose this place because it is a Dedicated Gluten Free facility They definitely deliver on tasty food. Was a great place to grab some dinner and then go have a picnic in the park. Everyone else who was with me in my party was amazed at how tasty it was. A young, annoying, female in front of me ordered one bowl, and attempted to "steal" two of my bowls by announcing to the cashier that she had ordered three bowls. However, she had only had one bowl made down the service line. At the end of the line & at the cashier checkout, she claimed two of my bowls. However, I had had my bowls made with noodle & egg. She tried to argue that my bowls should be hers because she had already paid for them at the register & her time was important (even though she had not ordered them in the beginning of the line)! Colleagues and friends recommended SeoulSpice and I finally got to try it for a late lunch after all morning meetings. In general, the food was fine. The store was empty at 2pm and the waitress was cold. The flavor of the food is a bit too salty to my standard. Also, the portion is not big compared to the price you pay. In general, it works for a quick to-go work lunch, but the price (I paid more than 18 dollars including tip) might not be sustainable. read more

Upon further inspection of the menu it had less variety than bibibop, specifically I didn't like that you had to pick one base instead of being able to do half salad / half rice. The sauce variety is limited as well. However I enjoyed the soft boiled egg and the creamy Sriracha sauce. The rest of the ingredients were meh. If you're celiac this is a place worth visiting. We visited the DC area this summer (2023) and found it by chance. The menu is all gluten free for celiacs. We went multiple times to try the different offerings. We were not disappointed with any of them. The servings are generous and hot.
