Rigatoni Alla Bolognese
Veisha B.

Service is good & so is the food. Although, I do think that the Rigatoni Bolognese could be boiled a little longer. Other than that, the food is pretty yummy!

Very good portions and quality Italian food. Decent amount of options and quick service. Had Tagliolini Al Tartufo Nero with salmon. Was great.

Penne Alla Vodka

Wow, wow! The food here was absolute delicious! I can't say it has super authentic italian flavors, but the tastes are of a more elevated style and bring exactly what you'd crave in any hearty italian dish. I highly recommend the vodka pasta- it was cooked to an absolutely perfect al dente and coated in a cheesy, creamy sauce. Additionally, pairing it with the arugula salad is a great choice to create a balanced plate and to add some variety. If we're nitpicking here (and I feel like you have to with the plethora of great italian food in Boston), I'd say the pasta lacked that traditional vodka tang and the salad was a little over dressed. Plus, the meal was definitely pricey, but that's honestly expected on Newbury Street , and for the quality, portion size, and experience I'd say it's worth it! The vibes of the restaurant were buzzing and it's a great energizing spot for a nice meal with friends. If I had one complaint, the service was a little slow and awkward for being a classier spot, but the vibes were still great and I would definitely come back every once in a while or for special occasion. This is a great reliable spot for a meal in Back Bay!

The food was SO delicious. The bread basket was a nice starter, however our waiter forgot to send our appetizer to the kitchen, so we never received to try. Our drinks & food came out very slowly, which isn't a huge issue, rather just something to note if you're in a rush. The restaurant was pretty crowded, but stayed relatively quiet to hear your party.

Tiramisu

I went a while back during Dine out Boston. The restaurant is in the basement but very cozily decorated. Good date night spot. Service was good. Tiramisu - best part of dinner. So soft and not too sweet. The fresh fruit was a good contrast to the sweet cream. Branzino - the dish was perfectly cooked and very tender. The tomato sauce wasn't too acidic and the mash potatoes were silky smooth Fig pizza - nice cheese pull. Fig was a nice sweet contrast to the salty pizza and prosciutto Meatballs - mushy and blandly spicy. The tomato sauce redeemed it Chicken parm with vodka pasta - small portion and not too special. Standard chicken cutlet and the vodka sauce broke.

Great place!! Loved the food and ambiance. Had the pasta alla vodka and an arugula salad. Highly recommend!

Food was tasty, portions decent and the service is very good here. High prices but it's in a very nice area of Boston.

Serafina Back Bay is a fantastic place to find some delicious Italian food! Menu: They have a pretty extensive menu, covering all the standard pastas and pizza dishes you might expect from an Italian restaurant. Everything looks and smells delicious, and based on what I observed, everyone seems to enjoy the meals. I had the salmon plate recently and it did not disappoint. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the blend of flavors was top notch. They do have quite a few dishes that can accommodate different allergies and dietary restrictions. The menu has a handful of dishes that are dairy-free or vegan (or can be adapted to be vegan) and there is an option to sub gluten-free pasta for the pasta dishes. Experience: The ambiance inside is super chill! I love that you get to experience a calming, pleasant atmosphere, even when every table is filled. It doesn't feel like you have to start yelling across the table, and you still get a sense of privacy between the tables. If you are hoping to come in for a dinner at a certain time, I recommend making a reservation in advance. I did this and was seated promptly, and greeted by a kind server immediately. The restaurant is busy so for a bigger group, would definitely recommend planning ahead to avoid a long wait. Once seated, they provide complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which is a nice way to start the meal. The servers we had were very kind, attentive, and had great recommendations on the menu and specials. Location: They are located right in the heart of Newbury Street, surrounded by so many fun shops and other cafes and restaurants. The entrance is tucked away from the street, and during the colder seasons, you might miss it if you are just strolling by (and don't pay attention to the yellow awning outside). t's nice because you really get to enter into a chill environment that you forget about the hustle and bustle on the street outside.

This place as so cute! Stopped in by myself for dinner while in town for work. The server was so nice and suggested the house made pasta. I got carbonara and it was good. My only complaint is that I don't like peas in my carbonara but I understand that is how some places will prepare it. Overall a great little place on Newbury!

So yum! My party and I had a reservation here after seeing Hamilton in the theater district! Everyone loved their food. I got the penne alla vodka- so creamy, delicious, and flavorful! Their wine selection Is excellent as well. I recommend the orange wine if you sit outside a gorgeous day- definitely added to the experience! Our overall service was great. We arrived ~15 minutes early and we got a table fast.

All I can say is WOW! After a long trek through Newbury St, we finally decided to stop at Serafina's for an Italian dinner. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The pasta dish I tried here was better than any I've had in the North End, which says a lot. The service was great, and we enjoyed some bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar to start off with. Highly highly highly recommend the Farafelle Al Limoncello. The lemon sauce pairs fantastically with the pasta cooked perfectly, and the shrimp was so fresh and flavorful. The cherry tomatoes were done right and added a great burst of flavor to the dish as well. The Serafina burger was also very good, with a unique paste of bacon jam smeared on it. It leans more towards the sweeter side, but compliments the savory flavors from the burger very well. The fries were also incredible, but I should've gotten them truffle style! Not to worry, because I will be back immediately.

Came in for Sunday lunch. Not very busy so we were seated immediately. My dinning partner is gluten free and throughly enjoyed her meal... which is rare.

Sauteed Branzino and Orecchiette Napoli

What a beautiful weekend it was and perfect weather to sit outside on Newbury Street enjoying a great meal! That's exactly what we did after walking around the Boston Common and gardens and walked along Newbury Street to find a place for dinner. Had passed by this place many times in the past but finally got a chance to try it out and it was great! I ordered the sautéed branzino which came with a really nice tangy sauce and cherry tomatoes. The two fillets was quite a big portion although I would have liked if it also came with a small side of rice or potatoes. There was complimentary bread so that was nice. The hubs got the orichiette pasta dish with sausage and that was quite delicious as well. Service was friendly and efficient. It was really nice enjoying the outside and a great meal. As we finished it started raining just a bit - good thing we were done and just went inside downstairs to the restaurant to pay the bill and waited there for our Uber. The inside of the restaurant was really nice too and it seems like a popular place even on a Sunday. Overall great experience!

I will always support SRV... currently the best Italian restaurant I've had in Boston. Specializing…read morein Venetian cuisine. Focaccia: What an amazing focaccia!! The bread had large air pockets, visibly soft, with a rich aroma of salt and milk; the olive oil was smooth and mellow, with a full-bodied fragrance, and the aftertaste even included a subtle, restrained hint of tea. Even knowing it's a calorie bomb, I couldn't resist dipping it in more. Baccala Mantecato: Classic Venetian flavor. The salted cod was tender and delicate, almost like a light foam, somewhere between raw silk and mousse; the dark bread was simple yet not coarse, perfectly balancing the saltiness of the cod. The most surprising thing was the refreshing aroma of celery leaves that emerged in the aftertaste, lingering and persistent. Lumache: When looking at the menu, seeing "chili butter, Jonah crab, breadcrumb," I never expected such a distinct citric acidity. The subtle acidity was gently enveloped in the fatty aroma of chili butter, perfectly complementing the umami and sweetness of the crab meat with just the right amount of spiciness. The lumache were firm and chewy, the sauce rich and smooth, and the breadcrumbs light and crisp, creating a rich and distinct texture. The portion was generous; even after microwaved the next day, the sauce had naturally broken down and the lemon's tartness had dissipated, but the noodles mixed with chili oil still had a unique flavor. Tiramisu: Highly renowned, and the staff were quite confident. The surface was covered with a thick layer of crispy cocoa nibs, the cake itself is incredibly soft and moist, and digging inside reveals an "underground river" of coffee liquid, while its bitterness was perfectly balanced by the sweet Marsala. The overall flavor was sweet and mellow, less bitter than typical tiramisu, with more layers of complexity. Actually, I was hoping for a slightly bitter version. Even on a weekday, it was packed with customers; by 5:10 PM, only one bar seat was left. Reservations are highly recommended. However, the bar was in a good location, with the bartenders being the easiest servers to find. It was a pleasant conversation with them.

Pros: The prices are a lot more reasonable than most places in Boston, portions on the main courses…read moreare big (enough to take leftover). The service is so friendly and seamless which in itself makes for a lovely evening. Highlights were the mussels, which were very fresh and delicious. The service here was attentive with the waiters offering more bread for the mussels. Most dishes are a little spicy, so if you don't like spice, make sure to note that with the waiter. The miso gelato is one of the most delicious savory/sweet desserts, and has lots of nice crunchy accents of the sesame crumble. Cocktails are fabulous, very smooth, as well as the mocktails. Cons: The crostini was nothing really special, and one of them came without the oyster butter. The meatballs, which were tasty but had a slightly hard texture on the outside. The prawn risotto was pretty one-note in flavor, and the prawn heads tasted overcooked and slightly off. The radiatore was spicy and nicely plated. The Cremoso al Cioccolato had a strange flavor profile that didn't quite fit, and had such a large salted chocolate-truffle section that we did not finish it (which is saying something)! Overall, if you are looking for a solid dinner in Boston that will guarantee be a nice experience because of the atmosphere, this is a good place.

Salty Pig Pizza: A pizza with the same name as the restaurant! Who was the genius who came up with the idea of salted pig and beer caramel? It's brilliant! The salted pork appears to include Prosciutto di Parma from Langirano, Prosciutto Cotto, and Salcissia. Baking rendered the prosciutto's fat, which blends with the caramel to create a beautiful golden syrup that flows across the pizza's surface. The prosciutto was savory, oily, and tender; the minced salcissia retains its coarse texture and rich meaty aroma; the caramel was sweet and mellow with a honey-like sweetness, forming the top, middle, and base notes respectively. The arugula was slightly warmed, losing its astringent and raw taste while maintaining its crisp texture, helped to cut through the richness together with the Parmesan cheese powder. The crust was crispy, while the inside the dough was soft and chewy. The cooking time and seasoning were all just right, and the restaurant's proud wooden oven added a charming smoky flavor. Affogato: I had high expectations, but it was just okay. The espresso was too sour, and the vanilla ice cream couldn't balance it out. The almond biscuits had an overpowering almond flavor, and the flavor of plant-based protein was terrible! (Oh, this should have been a plus...)
