Mixed feelings about this restaurant. A little bit of good and a little bit of bad. The ambiance here is just ok. Dimly lit room is nice for feeling intimate. It gets a bit crowded for dinner, so expect noise. While the servers are mostly attentive, sometimes you do have to put effort to flag them down. The food here is where I'm torn. I'm a suckered for a good truffle pasta. When I see it on the menu, I order it 90% of the time. This was one of those times. Unfortunately this pasta disappointed me quite a bit (and at a price tag of $39, it should have been phenomenal)! First, they said the noodles were "homemade" taglioni cooked al dente. This pasta was definitely not al dente and bordered overcooked. Too soft, it tasted like pasta you'd get at a fast casual restaurant. It should have been black truffle + parmesan reggiano but the aroma and taste weren't there. I could barely smell the truffle (which means low quality or old stock) and hardly tasted the cheese. It tasted like overcooked noodles tossed in olive oil with a few sad pieces of black truffle and a sprinkling of parmesan. So not worth $39!! The only reason for the 3-star review is because my friend ordered the serafina chicken salad which was phenomenal. It was perfectly seasoned, perfectly balanced.. honestly I would come back for this salad. So good! We had a couple glasses of wine which were only meh. For a meal that cost me $60, I wasn't too impressed. I guess you'll need to be choosy when ordering here as its very hit or miss on the entree choices. read more

We had a wonderful group dinner at Serafina and it turned out to be a great choice, especially for a lively evening with colleagues. We started with a variety of appetizers for the table, which made the experience feel festive right away. The bruschetta -- toasted bread topped with marinated tomatoes, fresh basil, and just a touch of garlic -- was fresh and flavorful. The homemade meatballs, served with toasted bread, tomato sauce, and shaved Parmigiano Reggiano, were hearty and comforting. We also shared the Mista Verde Italiana, a fresh seasonal green salad, and a classic Margherita pizza with tomato, mozzarella, black olives, and basil -- simple and delicious. For my main course, I ordered the Chicken Milanese: a pounded and breaded chicken breast, sautéed to a perfect crisp and served with arugula and cherry tomatoes. It was light yet satisfying and beautifully balanced. We paired everything with a very nice Sauvignon Blanc, enjoyed some delicious desserts, and had great conversation flowing all evening. The atmosphere is definitely energetic -- it can get quite noisy -- so it's not the place for a quiet, intimate dinner. But for a fun group outing, it's perfect. Overall, I truly enjoyed my time there with my colleagues. The food was consistently good, the vibe was lively, and the location was very convenient to where we were staying. I came here two more times, once for happy hour and the other to try their prix fixe lunch. One day after work back in October I actually made it to their happy hour. I sat at the bar and I had fried calamari with the white wine served during happy hour. The calamari was freshly cooked and the white wine complemented the dish. Right before the New Year, I stopped by to try their 3 course menu during my lunch break. The service was slow and rushed because it was my lunch break. The meatballs were cold. It took a while for the burger and fries. By the time they arrived I could only eat half of the dish because I had dessert and was running out of time during lunch. I got the limoncello pasta with chicken instead of shrimp and it was delicious. It was the perfect light pasta choice for an early dinner. The staff were so sweet to my kids who had just woken up from naps and not happy about it. I would definitely recommend this place to people with kiddos but make sure to make an early reservation for the best environment. read more

Service was great, and nice vibes all around. Serafina has multiple locations across the city, so it's a dependable spot for good food. Unfortunately on this particular Wednesday evening, it seemed most of the dishes we ordered lacked salt or flavor in general. For apps we ordered the meatballs, bruschetta, and calamari. Meatballs were good; calamari was your average calamari, and the bruschetta tasted like crispy bread with diced tomatoes, but nothing other to note. I ordered the orecchiette. The red sauce wasn't flavorful, (it could have used more salt), and in fact the dish itself was quite bitter because of the broccoli rabe within the dish. While the pasta was cooked to a good al dente texture, I wouldn't recommend that dish. read more

My husband took me and our kids to Serafina, a place I had always wanted to visit. I was so excited when I found out where we were going. Upon entering, I loved the decor; it was so pretty! The service was also impressive--everyone was very nice. Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. I was shocked because I had heard good things about the restaurant. For appetizers, we ordered meatballs and fried calamari. The meatballs were disappointing; I love meatballs, and honestly, I make better ones at home. On the other hand, the fried calamari was good and probably the only highlight of the meal. For main courses, I ordered shrimp pasta, my 8-year-old had spaghetti and meatballs, my other daughter had pepperoni pizza, and my husband ordered spicy rigatoni. My shrimp pasta was very bland, and my husband's dish wasn't spicy at all. I did enjoy a delicious strawberry martini. As for the pepperoni pizza, my daughter mentioned that the crust wasn't crunchy enough and said she had encountered better. I consider Serafina to be on par with The Smith. Both are sprinkled throughout the city and are ready to take you in in a pinch without having to have made a reservation a week out. Tried and true, Serafina might not wow you with new flavor combinations that you hadn't considered before, but it will fill you up and you will leave you sated and grateful for not having to order a $60 steak. The prices are reasonable, the service is good, and the ambiance is lively. A pizza and chicken dish to split for two is the perfect meal. The pastas are pretty good too. Hope they keep opening more locations and make their way to Brooklyn eventually. read more

Nice ambiance for a sit down lunch, a good break on a tiring morning tour. Inside is clean and tables were covered in starchy white linen. Music is not too loud - giving us a very relaxing and comfortable feel. Lunch menu comprises of the usual Italian fare - classic antipasti, insalate, risotti & ravioli, pasta, secondi piatti, and vegetables.. We ordered the SPAGHETTI ALLE VONGOLE and SERAFINA BURGER and were very happy with our choices. Server is very nice. The interior decor is nicely warm and inviting, and the tables are not too close together where you're overhearing other conversations or bumping into others as you try to walk by. We did not have to wait for the entire group to arrive before seating for the reservation which was nice. The menu is quite large so there is likely to be something to satisfy everyone The service was fairly slow. It took a little over an hour after arriving for the food to come out. A second round of drinks never actually arrived before the bar started closing down around 10pm. The prices were a little high - $21 for salad with chicken, $35 for carbonara, the special that night was $39) but the portions were filling They do have a 20% automatic charge for groups, which seemed like a lot (the menu said "20% gratuity recommended" but it was already applied to the total when the check came). This did not include tax and the check still asked for a tip on top of this group surcharge. Not to mention two of the checks in our group were wrong and had charges for items not ordered/eaten. read more

Came here for a work lunch with my coworkers and initially everything started out great, we had made reservations so we got seated right away. We opted for the pre fix menu since it looked like a great deal. I chose the tuna tartare which was delicious and I highly recommend (it did cost $5 extra) I was debating between wagyu burger or the spicy pasta and I should have gotten the pasta cause the burger was dry (I ordered it medium rare too) and didn't taste like a Wagyu burger to me. Two of my coworkers who ordered the serafina Wagyu burger also in medium well had their burgers come out mooing, their burger was more rare than mine that they had to send it back. I did like their mocktails it wasn't overly sweet which was a hit with the group. Afterwards my VP ordered sorbet and they gave her gelato instead. I ordered their tiramisu and thought it was really good. Staff were apologetic but the restaurant wasn't busy so none of us understood why there were so many mishaps. I would come back for the tuna tartare mocktails and the tiramisu. Everything else I'd pass on. read more

Since my first experience here they have shifted over to a sit down restaurant. I've been here a few times for some work events and they do a wonderful job! The servers are very nice and have kept our drinks full and the food is plentiful. The appetizers are usually very good and flavorful, however the entrees do need some work. We were passing by on the way to take a picture of the Fearless Girl when there was a homeless guy photobombing people. I told my daughter let's go take a break and come back later for the picture. My daughter had this crazy craving for Pain Au Chocolat. Every bakery that had it, she wanted it. I saw they had the Bombolone Crema and I wanted to try it. Service was quick too. At the same time, I also ordered a Cafe Au Lait. It was perfect for an afternoon snack as we had walked a lot for the day, especially coming from the 9/11 Memorial and Statue of Liberty. My party ordered the clam pasta, mushroom pizza and a side of brussel sprouts to share. Honestly, nothing was a stand out. but it was solid. It wasn't bad but definitely could be better. Came here with a large group of 20 for work. We got tons of food and it was really fresh and tasted great. The staff was great at attending to each of us and making the large group feel comfortable. Whoever makes or chooses the pasta for Serafina is magic- it takes like layers of love. So of course I opted for the lasagna, which doesn't use a typical marinara, but instead an almost creamy veggie vodka style sauce with lots of little veggies inside. I needed a little more protein, so I added on a side of meatballs. I was happy to see a couple options for fizzy lemonade and the cannoli ended up calling my name for desert. I arrived on a Sunday afternoon during fall OHNY weekend where plenty of tourists were buzzing around downtown in groups with guides, but the energy inside Serafina was more calm and serene with its comfy seating and outlets in the wall to recharge my phone. They offer eat in or to go options, but the wait time on the cooked food would probably be best to call ahead for if you're in a hurry and need to grab and go, otherwise people would be waiting inside anyway. read more

I catered a team lunch from Serafina Express and the food was reasonably priced and large portions. Everyone like the Italiana salad and the arrabiata pasta was my favorite of the pastas. Some downsides to my catering experience were: 1- I ordered pizzas to be cocktail cut (smallest cut) but they were cut in larger portions, so not everyone at my event was able to try the pizzas because we quickly ran out. Check the pizzas are cut as requested before leaving. 2- No delivery so you have to pick-up, which is hard to do at this location because the blocks around are closed to vehicular traffic, and they even have metal barricades in the side walk which make it hard to navigate a cart. I think I would order from a another location next time due to the logistics of the Broad Street location. 3- Penne is the only type of pasta available for catering. Its fine for the pomadoro and arrabiata pastas, but i feel like the cacio e pepe really needed a spaghetti style pasta. Customer service during the ordering process was okay overall, but great when I dealt with Ashley (I added a star here for her assistance). I am looking forward to trying Serafina Express for lunch sometime soon, the Trofie al Pesto pasta looks divine. read more

Was anticipating the opening as we live right next door. Went in to order a Tartufo Nero Pie, Penne Arrabbiata, Eggplant Parmigiana. We got the buzzer and sat down to wait for the food, the pie came out within 5 min. Was told to wait for the buzzer to ring for the Penne Arrabbiata and Eggplant Parmigiana. 20 minutes go by, I went to the register and asked how much longer our food will take as our pizza got cold waiting. They had no idea of our order and when asked when I placed the order I showed them the order number and the buzzer. The pasta and eggplant were sitting in the counter and no one decided to ring our buzzer. Was asked if I wanted a full refund which I said yes as everything was cold, while registering our refund they changed the ask to if we wanted the pizza or pasta to be redone instead which at that point would have taken another 10 min or longer. I understand it's been open for a couple weeks but don't agree with the level of service especially for a Serefina. Highly disappointed. read more

Serafina Financial District - a ticket for take out - Italian Near Me - New York, New York

Serafina Vino e Cucina 30 Broad is a re-imagined concept for a location they have occupied for some time in the Financial District of lower Manhattan, just one block south of the New York Stock Exchange on Broad Street. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and only opened less than a month ago at the end of January, I love the yellow accent color they use, which makes everything seem so bright and fun. The walls decorated with wine and champagne bottles, backlit by LED lights is a beautiful and modern touch. My only complaint about their decor is that they packed just a few too many tables into the space. At the time we visited, the restaurant was only about 25% full and the server had a difficult time reaching our table because of the space. With a full house, it could be just a bit overcrowded to fully enjoy the meal. Christian, at the host stand, greeted us with a big smile and told us a little about the history of that location. He asked us where we wanted to sit, which is always a nice touch rather than being 'put' where they want us. The table was beautifully set, though it seemed a bit smaller than usual. Our server came over right away to greet us and take our drink order. I ordered the Lambrusco Riserva DOP. It was perfect for that moment, not too sweet with a light effervescence. For our appetizers, we ordered meatballs and bruschetta. The meatballs were some of the best we have had in a long time. I prefer my Italian food bold with lots of Mediterranean spices and garlic and they delivered. I would go back just for the meatballs; they were that good! The bruschetta was fresh as could be with red ripe tomatoes and fresh ribbons of basil - light and delicious. The main courses we ordered were the Orecchiette sausage with broccoli rabe and the tagliolini carbonara. The Orecchiette Sausage dish was the star. It was not too spicy but had the depth of a good meat dish without being too 'meaty'. It was perfect. Unfortunately, the carbonara had to be sent back. I do not mean to be overly critical of the dish but the only way I can describe the tase is that it smelled like a dirty dish rag. It was unlike any carbonara we have ever had. Sometimes things happen like this, it is not the end of the world and the way the restaurant handles a hiccup says a lot about the restaurant. They immediately offered us an alternate dish. Because the sausage dish was so good, we ordered that but decided to take it to go, which was not the fault of the restaurant. We were just running short on time. In the end the restaurant was very apologetic and wound up taking one entree off our check. They handled the issue professionally and to our satisfaction. I want to give this restaurant a 5-star review and if I could give 4.5 stars, I would do that with no hesitation. At this time, I am rating our experience as a 4-star experience but will come back again soon and hopefully be able to submit a new 5-star review. Bottom line - try this great new place but stay away from the carbonara. read more

Just tried out the new Serafina on Wall Street. The decor is fabulous. Great ambiance and music too. Jorge was our server and he made it a wonderful experience. The calamari was fresh and tasty. My favorite, the Bruschetta was delicious. If you're ever in the Financial District and want to have a nice meal, definitely stop by. read more

Not much going on Downtown these days but they opened this spot and it is giving the area some life. It is a cafe but they also have a pizza oven. They also have other breakfast/lunch items too. I was eyeing the big chocolate chip cookies they had in the case too. It is a place that does it all. They also have plenty of seating if you want to hang out. Cool spot. read more

I live very close to this highly anticipated Serafina so after walking past the "Coming this Fall" sign for nearly a year, I was surprised to see that Serafina FiDi has officially opened! Keep in mind it is an Express though so the selection is less and it's set up for a grab-n-go vibe, kind of like an Au bon Pain but with more elaborate dishes. The right side has the pizza and pasta ordering counter, the left is for sandwiches and pastries. One thing that I noticed though was there were a lot of flies buzzing around the pizza on display and it made me more inclined to order hot food instead of the pizza sitting out. I went around 4-5 pm as reference. Their service was good but the portions are quite small. Also, all their pastas are vegetarian with no option to add meat so it leaves you wanting a little more. Their pesto sauce was bomb but out of the standard rectangular to-go container, it basically was one thin 1 inch layer of pasta, no more, no less. Great place to meet a friend, have a lunch meeting, study, do a quick interview and has a ton of aesthetic seating but don't come here if you're looking for a hearty, filling family style Italian meal. read more
