Today I ordered and after waiting for two hours I called and asked what the problem was they said they showed up to the house and the person said they never ordered. I then realized he was either lying or really really dumb because I clearly said it wasn't a house, but a business and if you drive anywhere near that adress it's not even a residential area. When I was home, I would go to the Sergio's in the Gables. I moved to Texas. Last week, I went back to Miami. I was craving a Cuban breakfast. What better place than Sergio's, right? Wrong! I found out that they opened this new location. My husband, mom, sister and I went for breakfast on a Monday. I will start by saying that the decor is fabulous. I loved it and was impressed. They took awhile to seat us, no big deal. We sat down and look through the menu. Still amazed by the modern decor. We order breakfast and of course Cafe con Leche. My mouth was savoring the Cuban toast and craving the cafe con leche. When I tried the cafe con leche, it was salty. I thought it was me. However, my husband's and sister's had the same flavor. We tried the sugar and apparently it had salt. We complained to the waitress which didn't believe us and had to try the sugar herself. SERIOUSLY?!? Why would we complain about something like that? She gave us a little attitude and took them without telling us anything. Someone else came to drop off fresh coffees. After that, we didn't see our waitress again until she brought the bill without asking if we needed anything else. We did wanted 2 cafe con leches to go. When we asked her for them she rolled her eyes and took the bill from us. We were very disappointed with the service. read more

I went with my boyfriend and my best friend thanks to a family reference. The service was not good at all. My waitress was a blond, pretty girl. Had attitude from the beggining. Did not offer anything to drink nor offered to help us decide what to get. It was the first time we were there and even though she saw us struggling, she never offered to help us or had a nice attitude. The lady that brought us water was very nice, but that's it. The food came I didn't like it, I left almost everything and she did not even bothered to ask us if we liked it or not!!! Our glasses of water were empty, she walked by a couple of times she seemed not to care. We finished eating, she passed by saw the empty plates did nothing. I asked for water she brought it with attitude. We asked to pay, my friend gave her the card and she told her something like "That is where you put the tip in" like?! I was so dissatisfied!!! We were amazed by her horrible service. My experience would have been a lot better if the lady that brought us water would've been our server. Sadly, I had to leave a very very low tip (which I hate because I am a server too) but we were very very dissatisfied. I am so deeply disappointed in this restaurant. I frequent this place quite a lot since I work nearby and today was probably the last time I will be coming. I ordered a mahi mahi and it smelled funky. I asked the people that I was with to smell it just in case it was just me. They surprisingly didn't smell anything so I went ahead and bit into it. Sure enough, the fish was old and probably way past it's time. I simply do not respect a restaurant that will serve expired/old food to their customers. DISGUSTED & REPULSED - RATING NEGATIVE 5 I work relatively close to this location on 87 avenue therefore decided to try it out as soon as they opened. Although the actual location has a nice interior build out and is inviting my first impression of the actual service was not corresponding. We first visited for a family dinner where our server was a bit over attentive. I don't mind servers stopping by every so often to see how we're doing but this individual was a bit excessive and reached in front of individuals who were eating on a few occasions to extract plates from our table which in my opinion isnt very appropriate. He struck a conversation with someone sitting at our table while there was already a conversation taking place amongst the whole table. Despite my unsatisfactory experience I decided to give it another go a few weeks later. We had a different server and this one seemed to carry the same training ethics as he actually took a plate off of our table while I was eating from it. I decided at that point never to go back and dine there again as I did not feel comfortable. Since I mentioned I work close by my co workers sometimes order lunch from here. They once found a hair in there food, which was brushed off as nothing since these types of things do happen, however very recently 2 different co workers experienced "The Hair", one of them dined in and the other was an order for pick up. This was the moment I decided to write this review. Even though the meal was replaced and 100% refunded, it is still not acceptable. Sunday 03/31/19 8:33pm: Not coming back. "Manager button" doesn't work, and trust me, it was needed. Horribly slow and bad service, with no one checking on our table for long periods of time. I would have liked something to help my dry chicken but that would require someone coming around. I'll tell you who had the best service tonight with all of the managers attention though, the table of Caucasian people sitting directly across from me. I hope their 5 star rating balances out my 1 star for you guys. read more

I love this restaurant. The ambiance is relaxing with a shooting vibe and Latin music in the background. Whenever I am in the area I make it a priority to grab a bite to eat. My favorite the steaks! The price is also very reasonable/affordable. The portions are large so sharing is an option. My husband and I sometimes order two meals and share so we can try different items in the menu. The happy hour menu is also very enticing however I have not attended as yet. Dessert is a must! One cannot leave without trying their delicious chocolate mousse. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is always friendly and helpful with suggesting menu favorites! Looking forward to dining at Sergio's soon read more

The 2 stars are because the service was horrible. The waitress was really rude. I ordered an omelette and it was taking forever so I asked the waitress why my food hadn't arrived yet because my friends' food was already here therefore she responded in a nice way that it was because it was a tortilla but I told her that it wasn't a tortilla, It was an omelette then she told me in a very rude way that it was the same thing and to calm down. I'm a person that very easily gets sick whenever I eat out so I am always afraid of eating any food cooked outside my home. But not with Sergio's. Their La Flaca menu is excellent. Anytime I ever eat here I always order something from this menu since it always makes me feel light and satisfied. I always feel full, hearty and without my usual stomach aches. Because of its low calorie and fat content I also don't feel like I'm cheating or that I'm eating something bad. But on a more cheating tone, if you wish to get something for your inner sweet tooth, their Abuelas french toast is out of this world amazing! Great for a Sunday brunch and goes well with their guava mimosa. Totally recommend! read more

Well is started out great and went downhill from there. The server (Virginia) already had an attitude as soon as she came to the table. We put in our orders, food took a while to come out. The waitress never came to check on us to see if everything was okay. Instead, she was very eagerly attending the tables with the men in it. Well when the food came, mine was fine but my sister's plate was cold! Not room temperature cold, cold like it was just taken out of the fridge!. Well it took forever to get Virginia's attention to take it back. At this rate we just wanted it out of the check and she never even apologized for the cold food. She just took it back and my sister had my meal instead. Now to wait for the check was another eternity!!! So we proceed by pressing the manager button on the beeper they have on the table. Well he said ok but I want fried yuca I'll pay if it's necessary just change it for me.... she still was regretting to switch the yuca because that wasn't possible she said she had to ask for permission (even tho he wanted to pay extra for the effin yuca) well he said just bring me the yuca but if it's so hard for you bring me some fries she end up bringing fries!!! I was already upset .. half way through our meal I wanted some garlic sauce for my tostones looking for her no way to be found I pressed the little square thing to call the waitress she didn't show up...When she finally saw us looking everywhere she came I asked her if I could please have some dipping sauce like garlic sauce (that was the only thing I said in English the whole time DIPPING SAUCE/GARLIC SAUCE)after looking at us like if we were crazy she was like no no no tenemos eso pero tenemos una salsita de Ajo muy rica (no no we don't have that but we have a really good garlic sauce) wtf wasn't that what I just asked for!!! I've always gotten breakfast through the Sergios drive through. My daughter always gets the "Papitas Rosemary" which are breakfast potatoes with chorizo. The price was $4.99 and now they're charging $6.50 for them and giving what looks like half of the portion as before not too mention much less chorizo. After getting home and seeing the order, I called to speak to the supervisor and it was useless. They obviously don't care. read more

This restaurant has a major service issue and I must update my review and lower my rating because it is a big problem. Good breakfast food is simply not enough to keep us coming back here. We ate here this morning and again received bad service. Dining here is a frustrating experience and service is so bad here we will no longer be coming to this location. Management needs to retrain all their wait staff ASAP and management needs to be monitoring each tables experience more closely as we used to come here weekly and I have never even seen a manager here. There is never a sense of urgency with the staff here and they simply have no desire to give good service, they are just indifferent. So many times we have been seated and no one approaches our table for 5 plus minutes and we wait and wait. Unacceptable. Every time we come and they bring food something is always missing and we have to ask for it again. We order breakfast and coffee comes out 15-20 minutes before food so its ice cold when food arrives. This time we asked for our coffee to be brought out with food and of course it was not so we ask again and waitress says she would bring it. I then see her take her sweet time go to the back and bring another table to go containers. Another few minutes go by and we ask again for coffee as we are now more than halfway through our meal and she still has not brought it. It took her close to 10 minutes after our food was brought to finally bring coffee. Common sense would say the people eating that need something to complete their meal would take priority over people who have finished their meal and want to go containers. She sees we are bothered and can care less, no apology & no sense of urgency. It is not that difficult to provide quick, effective breakfast service and to respond quickly to a customers request when they ask for something so I can't understand why this Sergio's can't get that right. If management was effective here this would not be a problem. It is not too much to expect hot coffee with your meal but it seems to be too much to ask at this place. Sergio's please get your act together ASAP as this is a fixable issue. read more

This review is based on delivery. It's Friday, 11:00am and I've been dreading the ol' "take your car to get an oil change". I should've known better than to head to the shop before eating. But I went ahead and didn't listen to my stomach and went ahead. One thing lead to another and the car needs more than an oil change (go figure). By now it's 1:00pm and I'm thinking the lunch rush in Doral is over. I log into my Yelp app. and type it "delivery" in the search bar. Sergio's was 3rd on this list, though I am Cuban. I am not a fan of Cuban food, especially from a restaurant when I can have it at home. Anyways, I order a pan con bistec with french fries, according to the app it would be ready in 45 minutes. I thought to myself, okay, I can handle that. 45 minutes turn into 2 hours. At the 1 hour mark, I call the restaurant and the girl picks up the phones and says "I know you placed an order but it is raining really bad here and the driver cannot leave", now Sergio's is on 87th Avenue, I am on 97th Avenue and it's a bright sunny Miami day how is it raining? Okay, I give it another 30 minutes. I call again, same girl picks up this time and tells me "please stop calling, the driver already left with your food!" WHAT! I was taken aback by the attitude of this woman I simply hung up the phone. My food did not arrive until 2:30pm. Now, it's partially the driver's fault as it is the restaurant's but nonetheless, I tipped. Will I be coming back? Probably not. read more

I have to say I think this new location is great. Been here a few times already and the food and service is always on point. I live in this area and happen to be in the minority that doesn't speak Spanish, however most of the servers are bilingual and apologized for speaking in Spanish to me which wasn't necessary but nice of them.
