This places ignited the flame within me to spend time warning potential future victims/prisoners. Get ready for an uncensored rollercoaster ride through a whirlwind of utter chaos. Imagine dealing with a daily parking puzzle that's like a demented game of duck-duck-go. You're going in circles, only to give up and park at the tustin marketplacr, because Serrano's parking situation is the punchline of a bad joke. We're diving headfirst into the realm of the maintenance team.Try reaching out to them? Good luck getting a response, let alone any real help. And when they finally decide to grace us with their presence, it's like they're on a mission to do the absolute minimum, or maybe even less. And let's talk about that carpet - it's a disaster, like a failed experiment on the floor. And the walls? I'm pretty sure they're made of tissue paper, 'cause you can hear every single little thing the neighbors do, like you're starring in your own reality show. The maintenance "geniuses" thought giving me a lesson in "getting paid to milk the clock" was going to fix our flooding bathtub, and toilet, which takes like 3 flushes to get everything down. Skilled maintenance? That's a foreign concept to them. And don't even get me started on the shower. It turns into a pathetic trickle every time the washing machine or dishwasher decides to make an entrance. So much for a "luxury". Allison Langdale... the Grand Manager. Get ready for a lesson in passive-aggressiveness that'll leave you shaking your head. She's a pro at making you feel like you're the source of all her problems just for daring to speak up. Trying to deal with her is like navigating a minefield of snarky remarks and thinly veiled sarcasm - it's enough to drive anyone up the wall. But her attitude is just the tip of the iceberg. She's like a magician pulling phantom charges and repairs out of thin air, all while adding to her personal treasure trove. Brace yourself for a bill of frivolous repairs after you leave, which they're actually legally required to take ownership of, but are banking on the fact that since you're stupid enough to even consider paying that much to live there, that you'll stupidly blindly accept the charges. They hit me with an almost 2 grand bill to replace that abomination they call carpet, the same one they let their own construction mess up. But here's the real kicker: Allison Langdale's sneaky tricks, trying to milk every last cent she can out of us. So here's the bottom line: steer clear of this entire circus. It's like they've got a talent for driving you utterly insane. And oh, let's not forget about the rats and cockroaches that are practically running the show. Safety? Forget about it. The whole damn experience was tainted by a lack of any real management or concern for what we were going through. AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE MONEY GRAB AFTER WE MOVED OUT, FOR "REPAIRS" THAT WERE TOTALLY UNNEEDED! Whenever we needed maintenance, it was like pulling teeth - met with eye rolls and even flat-out rudeness. They'd half-fix things or leave us to play handyman, showing zero professionalism or accountability. Leaking sinks and water pressure that felt like a trickle were met with shrugs and lame explanations. It was as if they took a course in avoiding real solutions, leaving us feeling completely ignored and undervalued. Then there were the maintenance goons, some of whom acted like they'd failed anger management classes. They'd get in your face if your partner wasn't around, showcasing their top-notch people skills - NOT. And neighbors? Oh boy, they were a special breed. One above us turned their patio into a waterfall onto ours, while another next door used their garage as a mechanic shop, leaving oil stains everywhere. And don't even get me started on the noise-making neighbors from hell. But the grand finale was the financial circus. The cherry on top? They tried to shake us down for nearly $2000 to replace the carpet that they let get wrecked from their own construction mess. And the audacity to demand we leave our door open for 12 hours to paint it, with no care for our newborn's well-being? That's a whole new level of shady greed right there. All of this just shows how Serrano's principles are a recipe for disaster - no concern for residents, zero communication, and a knack for ignoring problems. NEWEST UPDATE:9/08/19 WELL I'M PRETTY SURE MY NEW NEIGHBOR IS A DRUG DEALER AND HAD SOME DRUG ADDICTS FIGHTING ON THE STAIRWELL FOR 15 mins BEFORE I CALLED THE COPS. I was trapped in my garage which is next to the stairwell because a guy was beating a girl on the stairwell!! (They each had an over sized suitcase) My drug dealing neighbor then came to my door and told me to my my own business, I told him he had 5 seconds to get away from my door before I pepper spray him!! Then finally, the cops comes showed up about 15 mins later, of course no druggies found and my neighbor would not open up his door. (I called the leasing office th next day, they spoke to the tenant and of course he denies knowing the people BUT YET THEY STILL LIVE IN HIS APARTMENT) I forget to mention, the tenant lives in a 1 bedroom apartment and has his "friends" sleep on a hammock outside on the balcony!!!!!!!!!!!! Now PARKING!!!!! We were told only 2 spots, one garage and 1 sticker parking, no additional cars even though we offered to pay for an extra garage or sticker parking, well my bf sold his work truck so we can accommodate the "2 spots only" rule AND IT WAS A LIE!!! There is NEVER ENOUGH PARKING AFTER 9pm, it's ridiculous!! If you want to go out at night, plan on taking the car in the garage or uber because you will end up screwed and having to park in front of your garage until 6am until people start leaving for work. I decide to finally update my review after my 3rd time speaking with security about parking: there are 3 vehicles with over 26 parking violation tickets each because they have not been moved in over 3 months, and our leasing management will no do anything about it (they don't tow so they're always cars parking in resident parking ). DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AT THIS CRAPPY COMPLEX!!!!!! You are better off paying the extra $200-300 extra a month for a nicer complex, I definitely regret choosing the "cheaper apartment" !!!! I have lived here for two years. I've got some things about Irvine Company I'd like to get off my chest. With everything going on in the world, Irvine Company continues to show their true colors. They are greedy, and they don't care about people, only money. Simply put, if you can afford to live ANYWHERE else that is not owned by the Irvine Company, you should do it. Here are some reasons why: The Irvine Company will raise your rent 10% every year. They will even tell you they are raising your rent by the MAXIMUM allowed by California law. They have no shame in this. They do this because they offer great move in deals, and then they want to suck every last drop of money they can from you. The Irvine Company will enter your apartment at least once a month to keep tabs on you and what you're doing in your apartment. They will do this under the guise of replacing air filters and preventative maintenance. The Irvine Company continues their construction project through the COVID-19 pandemic. Against the better judgement of literally everyone, the Irvine Company has continued to parade unmasked construction workers down their narrow hallways. Any complaints are met with a steadfast attitude of "no concession." The Irvine Company puts up a unified front AGAINST it's residents. Pretty much, only rent here if you need a place to live today and you cant afford to spend time looking for anywhere else. Do so expecting that Irvine Company are blood-suckers. Never expect them to care for you or have your back. Do so expecting incredibly loud construction, poor quality of life, poor management of a public health crisis, and poor human relations. read more

I pay extra in my rent, mind you, for these amenities but I'm forced not even being able to use them because the pool (mainly in the summer)/gym is overcrowded, and not being able to park somewhat by my house due to this is ridiculous, and provides a major inconvenience to me and my family. I'm always scared of my teenage daughter having to walk across the whole community just so she doesn't have to park outside the gates late at night when she comes home. Also many of our neighbors have too many cars, one has 4.... Now on to the management. I have stayed here for a little bit of my time and there used to be kids playing outside and having their kid fun, but about 2 years ago I watched in awe while one of the leasing office attendant was yelling at a couple of them for scootering around the parking lot and forced them to go onto the trail. They were 7 years old, having fun kids play they shouldn't be punished being sent outside of the community, nor without a moms notice/consent, that could have been extremely dangerous and was a poor choice of conduct on him. I have many more instances but the main argument is that they need more empathy. Overall this complex isn't that great, because of these reasons, but also the rent is going up, there is always some kind of construction going on, and no one is friendly.. but if this is your cup of tea by all means come swing by. read more

I have lived here at Serrano for 8 years now and I love living here. I moved to a different unit within the complex last year and love the new location even more. I have always felt safe here and that is so important to me when choosing a place to live. If there is ever a maintenance issue, the response is swift and that is very much appreciated. There are two people that have really made it enjoyable to go into the leasing office for some reason. I generally try to stay out of there unless I really need something as I usually dreaded walking in there - but, at Serrano, every time I have had to deal with anyone in the leasing office it has been so friendly and extremely helpful. In particular Terra Tyson and "Smitty". I have needed to go into their office several times in the past few months and Terra made it a cheerful/happy experience because I felt like she cared about my issue and immediately took steps to solve any issue I had - she's great. I used to hate talking to people in a leasing office but since I've lived here, Terra is the one I want to talk to because I know once I do, I won't need to be concerned anymore - she'll take care of it and she's always so nice! Once in a while I've needed to call the office for after hours help and Smitty has been so helpful and friendly whenever I've needed anything. That kind of thing really matters to me and makes it a really nice place to live. read more

It's an absolute disgrace, especially for someone like me, a genuine Brazilian immigrant trying to provide for my three kids in this mess. Right from the start, it was clear that management was a bunch of two-faced liars, putting on those fake smiles and making empty promises, only to show their true colors once we were stuck here. Maintenance? Don't even get me started. They couldn't care less about our problems, leaking pipes, broken stuff - they'd do a half-baked job and call it a day. But the icing on the cake? The exit bill they handed us. The moment we dared to leave, they tried to squeeze every cent out of us, making us pay for things that were busted before we even arrived, it's like they wanted to see us struggle. And safety? Ha, that's a good one. The security was a joke. Car break-ins happened all the time, and it's not just cars...coyotes and rats are another nightmare we have to deal with. I didn't come here for my kids to be scared every time they step outside. Serrano? It's a mess, plain and simple, from the lying management to the maintenance crew that doesn't give a damn, the overflowing dumpsters they never clean...it's a living hell. I have lived at a few Irvine Co communities and I have never received such great customer service from the office and maintenance department like we did at Serrano. Rosio, in the office, was always willing to help answer any of my questions. Garret helped us and has gone above and beyond to find the perfect home for myself and my friend. The new service manager Gabriel, was very kind. We bumped into him and he introduced himself as the new service manager. He let us know if we needed anything in our apartment, to let him know. Living here for 4 years, I never once met the maintenance managers, let alone, see them picking up trash or cleaning with his maintenance team. With Covid, we have noticed the efforts made by everyone including the construction team, to keep us safe. They construction noise can be much now that some of us worked from home, but we understand they have to work on the buildings to maintain the property . We will miss living at Serrano and the great amenities and location. Too bad they do not have Irvine Company communities back home. read more

We are residents of Serrano Apartments and, unfortunately, have been dealing with a persistent issue that directly affects the health and safety of our family. Our neighbors frequently smoke marijuana, and the strong odor regularly seeps into our apartment despite closed windows and doors. This creates an extremely unhealthy living environment. We have two small children, including an infant. Such exposure is absolutely unacceptable and poses a serious risk to their well-being. We have submitted multiple complaints to the management office, yet the situation remains unchanged. The property management either fails to take any real action or responds in a way that is ineffective and superficial. This raises serious concerns about the management's ability to provide a safe and livable environment for its tenants. We strongly urge the management to take immediate and effective steps to resolve this issue. Otherwise, we will have no choice but to escalate the matter to the appropriate authorities, including local enforcement and Fair Housing services. read more

In the interest of full transparency, I've only lived here for a few weeks, so there aren't too many things I can comment on yet. I did however have a fantastic experience regarding a maintenance technician this evening. I came home to find that my front door knob was broken (an internal part being at fault). In a panic, I called the after-hours emergency number. The representative dispatched the on-call emergency maintenance technician, Steve. I thought it would take a while for him to arrive, so I went to grab a chair out of my garage so I could sit by my door and wait. Steve showed up in less than 5 minutes, as I was walking back to my apartment. He proceeded to open my door, get me back into my apartment, and replace the door knob internals in about 20 minutes. Steve was super friendly while helping me out. He saved me from having to crash at someone else's place and from worrying about my cat being stuck in the apartment, so I am very grateful! I have lived here for almost two years and am so disappointed with how things have changed I CANT wait to move out in August. Besides the fact they increased rent $200.00 the gates have been broken for over a MONTH! Why am I paying so much money to live in a gated community where the gates don't work? Also, they didn't give me ANY notice that the pool was going to be closed for two weeks, so when I went to the second pool on a hot Saturday they had the gardeners out here blowing dirt and leaves all over the place. I heard someone laying on the chair next to me calling to complain and they did nothing. SO when I called the office as soon as I got back to my apartment to ask if the gardeners can do it not on a weekend the lady in the office ( I didn't get her name) was extremely RUDE and unapologetic. Needless to say, I can not wait to move and will not be staying with the Irvine company again. read more

12/26/2022 So I just want to say. We had the most amazing time. At the Serrano apartment clubhouse in Irvine on December 23. It was our Christmas Party / Wasail Event. Everything went according to plan with the help of the staff from Serrano. Kayla was helpful on giving us the tour of the clubhouse and setting up the timeframes. So we had family and friends attend. We choose Dec 23 because Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, everyone would be to busy. We had about 30 people attend our celebration. We had cash prize Christmas Raffle, Christmas Bingo, Presents, Dinner, Desert, even Karaoke with Christmas songs. All in all memories were made. The kitchen and amenities were all there for us. You have to be super lucky to find a quiet neighbor living above and below your unit. Otherwise, you will hear almost everything your neighbor does. The walls are so thin and noise can travel easily through the ceiling and the walls. I guess the building was designed to meet only the minium sound isolation requirements. The entire building shakes when some inconsiderate neighbors slams their doors or drop heavy stuff on the floor. So far, 2 neighbors already complained to the leasing office/after hours security about somebody that drops heavy stuff on the floor that causes the whole building to shake everyday. No action from the office was taken and the situation got worst. read more

I have lived here for several years, I am very satisfied with Serrano Leasing representatives Rocio, Sam and Miguel everyone is very welcoming and friendly, they are very quick to repair anything I need and answer any of my questions when I call the office, Also Maintenance so very respectful and very good at repairing thank you Eddie, Manuel, George, Bernie and Fidel, the complex is extremely clean, grounds and garden areas are very well kept thanks to Ramon's hard work. I recently reserved the Clubhouse, it's so beautiful and modern the whole process was very smooth and my event turned out perfect. I'm very happy to call Serrano my home. read more

I met with Mihaela Zoltany. She was very nice and knowledgeable. I felt she was genuine. She cares about what she does and how people want to be treated. You feel like home when you interact with her. I also met with Audra Nothoff. She is another genuine person. She gave us the tour and helped us. She was friendly and very knowledgeable. she also made us feel like home. This all started when we called the irvine company website and there was a guy named JJ. He made us feel comfortable and wasn't judgmental. He knew what we were looking for and guided us to serrano apartment homes. He made us feel blessed. read more

Was offered a free carpet cleaning and accent wall when I moved in, and was told that I wouldn't be charged for either upon move out and what do you know, I get billed for both! Also was billed for "counter top damage" as well as a "broken microwave door" which was never broken! Got screwed out of my entire deposit and then some, and I'm OCD level meticulous about all of my personal belongings and living quarters! Avoid this place unless you're ok with being lied to and screwed out of your deposit! Shame on you Serrano staff. Your lies have cost Irvine company a customer for life! read more

The customer service at Serrano apartment is AWESOME, from the maintenance crews to the leasing office staffs. Too bad that our great maintenance team had left the community but glad that there is still Eddie from the Maintenance Team who is very courteous and did an excellent job on the issue in our unit. The apartments are good. I am living here from a long time and from my experience I would say that the office staff and maintenance team is always great. They are really friendly especially the maintenance team. One of their employee name LUIS...he is really quick, friendly and efficient in doing his service. This man knows how to fix the problems. Whenever we have any maintenance issues, Luis arrives in a timely manner and fix the problem fast. You guys had a great team. Keep it up Serrano. read more
