I don't get to Servas often enough. They always have lots of different beers on tap and I almost always opt for a flight to try out as many as possible. They have a large taproom and even a kid's corner so there's plenty of room for everyone. The service has always been great and the taproom clean. They don't serve food but if you check their socials, they often have food trucks or you can bring in your own. My last visit, I brought in a sushi roll. They also have different activities during the week like bingo and pop ups. In addition to beer, they do offer cocktails and non alcoholic beverages like Aaron's craft soda. I recommend trying any number of sours they have or better yet, get a flight and try a few!

They have a great selection of beer and I can't wait to try more! Every Wednesday is Music Bingo for a cause which is a ton of fun and I love that they are getting involved with different community organizations. I also like that they have a little area for kids to play. Super fun atmosphere and my friends and I will definitely be back!

Found myself in Shawnee with a sudden overwhelming thirst. Stopped in at Servaes and it felt like a synchronous meeting of fate and the beer gods had altered my life forever. Ordered a flight of the most interesting sours I've had since George Clinton got the funk. Next up, the Doppelbock was Kafka in a glass, mysterious and intense. The seating area is a clean, well-lighted place built for happy memories. It's a good sized place with half of it being the Mosaic room which is a bit weird since it's, you know, just the other side of the room. But there is a row of guest taps behind the bar, there, in the Mosaic room. The beer pourer was super friendly which made the Servaes experience complete and joyous.

What started out as a home brewing hobby has turned into the first brewery in Kansas to be owned and operated by a female head brewer - and a really cool place to hang out. They brew in small batches and focus on NE IPAs, barrel aged, sours and novelty beers. Some of the brews are a little out there - and that's okay. A couple of taps are usually dedicated to more traditional brews for those who are a little laid back. The brews switch out quickly, so feel free to bookmark the brewery's website to stay up to date. I love the huge windows that let in the natural light light. I also love the long tables and board games. KIDS ARE WELCOME - as long as they're well behaved. Food isn't served, however food trucks will park outside from time to time - usually during trivia night or during a social event. Beer is available in to-go cans and crowlers.

This brewery needs more attention! On a Saturday night it was also empty, but their beers are so good! They have a strong selection of in house beers, but also guest beers. They specialize in sours with mostly very good quality. There's a small board gane section inside, and parking is free on the street but limited to two hours.

    Coffee chocolate berry beer!

PLEASE don't regard for a second the salty 1 & 2-star reviews and come on down to probably the coolest microbrewery in town! Women-owned? Check! Amazingly unique flavors? Check! A fun atmosphere with board games, trivia, bingo, and community events? Triple check!!! The beers here are SO MUCH FUN to try, and every one I've had, even the weird ones that made me cock my head in surprise, was delicious. I tried a flight that included a coffee berry chocolate sour, caramel chocolate spiced ale, coffee milk stout, and pineapple orange chipotle, and all of them seriously opened my palette to new beer adventures. The taps are constantly rotating out with interesting new flavors to try so this makes me want to come back again and again! If you want boring watery "white bread" beer, this is not your place, go drink a Bud Light in your sad basement. I am so grateful for a place like Servaes, that gives us something new and exciting. That being said, I would love to see outdoor seating for the nicer weather months! I hope their expansion next door includes this! Cheers!

Are there bigger watering holes, sure, and good too. Servaes though is exceptional. some of the best brews around, don't believe me, just you watch. First visit and you'll be hooked. I'm not a sours brew type, but it is the best I've had yet. Ale's, porter, IPA's they've rounded up the usuals for a well balanced menu. Grab your friend or go solo to try a flight. No food but they do have pop ups that are seriously a cut above the rest no matter what they serve. Decent game corner, and parking. Massively involved in the community and something to do most night, games, trivia, new brews to try. For me it really is the Crème de la crème of breweries in the area.

    Delicious new options!

Unique beers and good vibes, that's what you'll find here. The brews are constantly change and I love to try all the new options, even if sours and IPAs aren't my jam. But Last time around loads of stouts and we tried like 6 of them! The music is also usually on point. And If you're wanting to sit and enjoy for a while they have board/card games. I can't wait for the added space. It's exciting to see them expanding. I highly recommend this place.

In the heart of downtown Old Shawnee!

What they do, they do well! Servaes is brewing craft beer in downtown Shawnee, adding nuance and creativity to each of their brews. Not sure what you want? Try a flight of small pours, giving you a range of flavors and options, and maybe you'll want to take home a crowler later. There is always something new on tap and you can be sure that whether you get with malty or hoppy, you'll have plenty to choose from. Pricing is fair and equivalent for a small brewery, so at $3-$5 for a small pour, or $5-10 for a standard pour, you're getting a lot of value. There isn't food on site, but Servaes often coordinates local food trucks to come and serve as a dining option. There is trivia on Tuesdays and music bingo on other nights, so all the more reason to give it a try.

I love these lady brewers!!!!! I am a huge fan of sours, so this is the perfect brewery for me. They have a great selection, and have tons of super fun events. This is one of the best breweries in the metro area.

SOUR CITY!! Finally found my brewery in the metro area. Can't get over how many sour options they always have. And they aren't you're typical golden sours or basic barrel aged. They're creative. They recently expanded, knocked down a wall and made the space bigger! Bathrooms are always clean. Staff is always super friendly too. They have a good selection of games to play. I do wish there was patio here. It's the one downfall on a nice sunny day, I don't want to be inside. But nonetheless I still make the drive :)

Favorite bar in Shawnee! Their beers are imaginative and delicious. The last time I went in they were pretty heavy on IPAs and sours, which aren't my favorites but I think they have a pretty good rotation so this isn't always the case. Plus I had the Your Light Made Us Stars saison which was delicious! I'm thrilled about their recent expansion which allows for more seating. I will say if you're looking for a place to watch the game this isn't our best bet, though I'm sure some people will be relieved to hear that (Transport Brewery down the street regularly has sports on their TVs). In addition to the great drinks, nice atmosphere, and unwavering friendly service, they are philanthropic as well, often supporting local organizations by donating a portion of their proceeds. They also regularly have trivia and music bingo. Follow them on Instagram. It's well-run with lots of details and frequent updates.

So excited this place has opened in Shawnee! Not only is the beer great but it's #brewedbyagirl. I had the Champagne Breakfast (a sour) and it was worth getting a second round of. We ordered the OSP dip from Shawnee Pizza so we had something to munch on. Delicious! It's a cute spot on Johnson Drive with parking off the street. At least 10 beers on tap at all times. Plus some special beers on Sundays (until Feb 23) and several other special events. Also beer releases with some fundraisers. COME SEE THIS PLACE!!

This brewery was very inviting. The bartender gave us different things she made on her own to try. Beer was really good.

They have a large patio area where dogs and kids can play and run around (leased dogs, not the kids ). They have a stage outside and lots of individual seating and picnic tables. They have one of the best brewery patios in KC. The indoor space is also fairly large and they do have a room that can be rented for private events. And this year, they added an outdoor tent so you don't have to freeze but can still be outside. They have a few TVs for sports ball watching. Service is always fanatic. Despite being busy, they're always clean. They do offer food-tacos, pizzas, kids menu. I've not tried any but I always see people ordering so it must be pretty good. It's a brewery so obviously they have beer, but they also have nonalcoholic beverages and wine. I stick to the beer. My favorites are alway the stouts. They remind me of simpler old school stouts that aren't sweet and heavy. They have live music and other events so make sure to follow their social media and definitely check them out!

But you're coming for the beer, and the beer is really great. Limitless has gone from a location in a light office park to its own standalone building, complete with patio and plenty of space. There are generally half a dozen or more of their own craft brews on tap ranging from IPA through porter/stout. You may have even had some of their flagship beers elsewhere, such as JoCo Juice, a hazy IPA or Rolling in the Deep, a double New England IPA. I myself go for malt over hop, so I find their Marzen to be one of my favorite beers. If they have their Mexican lager on tap, then I also suggest sampling that as well. A flight of four runs you $14-ish and is a great value, as the sample sizes give you plenty of opportunity to really get a feel for their offerings. If you find something you really like, then you can take four-packs home to go in cans. Limitless is open almost every day, at least until 7:00 and when the weather is nice, the patio was a must do. There are frequently people playing a board game or just enjoying the space, and while I don't want this to be just another noisy space, they could do with maybe a TV or two more. But that is just me being picky and since they are in the neighborhood, I like visiting whenever I can.

However, the older female bartender was probably the most anti-child/parent person I've met in a long time. Not sure if she was never a mother or had a niece or what, but when asking for paper towels or napkins and she acted baffled like they'd never need to clean up anything before except for my kids spilling their water. When asked about trash cans to put trash, she also told me, "trash cans actually create more trash than they hold.". Lady was wound tight. Not to mention having some other older folks in there that just pointed and talk-down on our group all night until we left. Sorry we had some beers and enjoyed live music WITH KIDS. As much as I like the main room and outdoors, I'm not sure the venue can make up for salty people and overpriced beer. Is what it is. As for families who want to enjoy some beers, I'd find a much better venue. Angry woman in the photo.

The problem…read morewith Rockcreek on this day is that they overbooked, they had two parties happening as well as, Saul's. For a brewery with a maximum occupancy of 83 and an engagement party in the back with 70 people scheduled to attend...you can immediately see the issue. Not to mention the number of kids at this place, now I get it, it was around dinner time it wasn't 9pm however, one of the parties seemed to be a child's birthday party, um what? And why? What an odd place to pick for your sons like 5th birthday (excuse me I am not great at determining ages of snot nosed toddlers nor, do I want them roaming around the brewery I'm at). With all of this being said, the beer was fairly decent and the beef sandwiches were divine. If it was nicer outside, it was still pretty nippy outside and spring hadn't sprung yet, then they have a big patio and outdoor area that could have been utilized. Case in point if your brewery only holds 83 people and you book a 70 person party- number one, just don't. Number two, use business logic and common sense and make it a rule that parties over a certain number have to rent out the space entirely for a private party. And number three, most definitely don't double book your business- heck in this case triple book (with the Saul's pop up bound to bring in a tier of customers you don't normally have) The sour beer was our favorite because, it was only slightly tart and zesty with slight citrus notes, it wasn't too sour and sharp. It was easy to drink which sometimes sour beers are not. I would order this again however, both the IPAS I tried were just okay...the New England one I preferred more, the hop profile was more in line with a slightly piney taste, it was fine.
