This place was once a little food stand inside Northwest Mall from 1979 and lasted longer than the Mall itself. This isn't some trendy or gastropub food that's going to blow your socks off. It's basic "101" Chinese-American" food, for Americans. You're not supposed to be "schooled" on Chinese cuisine, just eat and enjoy. I been eating here since I was in 5 grade and got all my friends and family eating here. Till just last month by my niece told me about "Sesame Hut" has reopened on Long Point, and I had to drive out there and see for myself. I'm so happy it's still around, thank you. read more

Very clean and simple place. Food was delicious. We had the lowmein and combination fried rice. It was delicious and super fresh. We also had spicy wings, with onion rings... delish! The woman at the front was such a sweetheart, and we got there at the end of the lunch rush (around 2:15 pm) so it was a very peaceful environment. The food there is the best in town and at a great price.Those $8 plates could very well go for $19.The only issue that I have now is that for some reason, they got rid of their homemade siracha, garlic sauce.I used to love putting like 3 deals of that sauce on my plate and my nose used to be running as I enjoyed the delicious platter.Now the hot sauce their using is straight trash.I don't understand why they don't just buy some store bought siracha at least.The hot sauce their using tastes like jack in the box hot sauce. read more

Went and ordered the general tso's chicken and the stir fry shrimp. The rice is similar to what was at the northwest mall. Egg rolls were good. The chicken itself was not like the NW mall general tso's because it had onions and was a bit sweeter and had a citrus taste. I would give them 5 stars if they had the exact same recipes as when they were located in the mall and gave the one hot wing,one onion ring, and one egg roll with the food. It seems this place shut down. So sad! Believe the hype. It's a hole in the wall with counter service but the food is cooked to order and very fresh. Went for lunch with my 16 yr old, he got the teriyaki chicken. It wasn't enough chicken for him (cuz he is a 16 year. I got the Korean beef. It was excellent and he finished my meat because y'all the onion rings are crazy good!! So we traded he gave me his onion rings and I gave him my beef. He is already talking about going back. Looking at the reviews I knew I was in for a treat but it wasnt no where near one. The hot and spicy chiken is good and spicy but everything else is a NO for me. The rice was tasteless and I have never tasted none like it before . I let my daughter try it and she thought it was spanish rice!. I dont know what oil or seasoning they used but it needs to end TODAY. The eggroll and onion ring was so oily I had to toss it so theres no pic of it .Needless to say I wont be back. Update 11/09/17: Located now on Longpoint Rd. they give free drink with every purchase as a grand opening special. Not sure how long free drink promotion is going to last. The young lady at the register said they have all the same cooking minus the fried rice they are trying to develop it, but welcomed people's opinions on it!!! The menu is very simple and makes ordering fast and easy. The food came out within ten minutes and was piping hot!! All the entrees come with rice of your choice (fried or white) Two onion ring, one spring roll. I ordered the #3 General's Tsos chicken based on another yelper's recommendation and it was delicious!! The chicken was thoroughly cooked and glazed with sweet sauce that I liked mixing in with the white rice. The onion rings are pretty huge and spring roll was also quite big and flaky and overall tasty~ The new restaurant is clean and they have a small bathroom there for men/women. The lids for the drinks are to your right when pouring soda from fountain drink. They are camouflaged into the wall. This was also an issue for the previous restaurant that occupied this space. They had to put signs everywhere and still people went up to the registers to ask for the lids. XD Suddenly, LIDS!! read more
