Don't order to go they'll cut the portion sizes in half!! Look at the size of these Flautas. I'd be doing them a favor even calling them taquitos. Then my "side" of beans come in a SAUCE CUP. $22 w/tax for just this part of the meal is DIABOLICAL and Highway robbery. They also forgot my side of rice. I am trying to find the best Chile Rellenos in TampaBay area. So hitting various restaurants. The ones at Senor Tequila are decent... pretty good for a chain. Nice egg batter crust, pretty sure they use actual Mexican Cheese (these were cheesed stuffed... no ground beef like some do). The guacamole here is good, as is the Pico de Gallo. Chips and salsa are complimentary and tasty... I like their salsa better than some of the other restaurants I have been to. They do give you TWO chile rellenos unlike some the other restaurants... that actually charge more for a single. read more

The inside is super cute with a nice ambiance whether you want to enjoy a date night or a party. Julio was friendly and attentive during my recent visit. The staff are always excellent and kind - and the margaritas are a knock out! Their cocktail list is abundant with choices and there's something for every mood and palate. The enchiladas and chile rellenos are my go-to orders. I just love the crème fraîche on top and the consistency of the tomato sauce adorning the poblano peppers (thick not watery). Our server was great! The management and overall customer experience was terrible and in decline. We have been coming here even before COVID-19 and supported this restaurant ever since, but today's experience was regrettable and left a very sour taste, both in the food and the experience. The Manager needs to learn how to satisfy a customer and to take constructive feedback. Our business is never coming back to this chain and I encourage anyone else to avoid this place as the plague. First of all, I went to the Senor Tequila in Carrollwood and discovered it was closed for remodeling. The owner directed myself to the Westchase location. So, my family and I went to that location. There is a outside patio and inside is nice. Our waiter, Andres, was very good and patient with us considering we were having a surprise luncheon for my aunt. Our lunch order came out with no problems. I ordered the Enchiladas Supremos which so tasty. It was three enchiladas. One chicken, one bean and one one pork. It dressed with sauce, lettuce, sour cream and tomatoes on the side. Also, I ordered the queso as an appetizer which was good. If it were possible to get 2 1/2 stars, that's what I would give. Went here the first time over the weekend, sat in the bar area and had great service. Food was also very good. I had the flautas and they were excellent. My friend also enjoyed her mail. We ordered strawberry margaritas which had very little strawberry in them but they were still good. We also had the queso for an appetizer and that was good. Went back to this restaurant with two other friends three days later, and had horrible service! Whatever you do, don't let Anna Marie wait on you. There were two tables in the whole restaurant, and some people at the bar and I had to get up four times to get us drink refills, and chip refills. The last time I got up, and ran into the same server that I ran into two other times, she asked what I wanted. I finally told her a new server. She laughed nervously. I always leave 20% or more because I have been in the industry, but this was so bad that I left her 2%. I would completely understand she were busy with other tables but to be the only table she was waiting on, was ridiculous. Food was good though. Terrible service. The server was a gentleman mid-late 60's, sweating profusely without cleaning himself up every now and then to make those of us feel better from the thought of sweat dripping into my food. I asked for a water, queso, chips, and napkins. I got queso, no chips, no water, and no napkins. I asked a lady for chips, water, and napkins, she brought me water and chips. No napkins. I understand if they're busy, but they weren't that bad. There were several empty tables, and about 6 people working. I've seen worse with short staffing issues. The food was ok. I ordered queso, which was pretty good, and a mushroom quesadilla. The quesadilla came half filled, and no sour cream, guacamole, or anything at all. I used some of the queso that was left, and some salsa to doctor it up. This place is also HIGHLY expensive. $15 for a margarita?! Insane. Disappointed. Service was sparse. Took a while just to order drinks and food. Ordered queso fundido which has chorizo crumbles. The fundido came out in one big chunk. Couldn't even scoop it up with a spoon or fork because it was so rubbery and wasn't nearly warm. Isn't queso supposed to melted? Entree came out and the burritos had a very uneven ratio of onions, peppers and chicken and was rather bland - didn't realize there wasn't going to be any other type of filler. On a recent Sunday my family and I decided to try this location as it was central to where we would all be coming from. There was ample seating for our group and complimentary chips and salsa were out rather quickly. We placed orders, yet our orders did take a while to come out compared to other tables who had ordered and received food much faster than we did. Once food was out, the server was pretty scarce. I ended up ordering the Chicken Ranchero, which came with a hefty portion accompanied by rice and beans and tortillas. The True Blue Organic Margarita comes with Jose Cuervo Tradicional Reposado, Blue Curacao, organic agave nectar and fresh limes and tasted delicious! 9/10 The Sangrita features a frozen margarita topped with sangria and came naturally seperated with red on top and green on bottom which looked really cool. You can choose to drink from the margarita on the bottom or sangria on top based on how you direct your straw! With 2 drinks in one, this is a can't miss! I Highly recommend this drink! 10/10 The Molcajete comes in a hot lava rock heaped with sizzling beef strips, chicken, pork and shrimp. Topped with cheese, grilled cactus, peppers and onions. Served with rice, beans, lettuce, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream and three flour tortillas. 7/10 The Fajitas Mexicanas came with tender beef steak, onions, bell peppers tomatoes and is served with rice, beans, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo and three flour tortillas. 8/10 Happy hour is only 3pm to 5pm Monday through Friday and includes $5 Well Drinks, Regular Margaritas and Regular Mojitos, $2 Domestic Draft Beer, $3 Import Draft Beer, & $4 Wines. Senor Tequila Mexican Grill prices are much higher than average for mexican with most dishes going for $18-$20 but the serving sizes are huge and enough to split between 2 people. The large alcoholic cocktails are priced much higher than average as well for $15 but are equivalent to 2 drinks. It's a shame Senor Tequila does not offer any taco Tuesday specials or have a happy hour that went unyil 7pm. If Senor Tequila had better pricing or specials, I'd definitely come more often! This restaurant has a huge outdoor area for open air dining and a long wrap around bar. Senor Tequila has festive Mexican wall art all over the place and comfy booth seating to create a nice dining atmosphere. Service can be hit or miss. If we sit at the bar, service is typically pretyy quick. If we sit outside, service can be a little slow. read more

I love good Mexican food, but Tampa has so many authentic Mexican dining options that this one falls a little bit short of their competition. Overall though, it's a decent middle of the road type of place for Mexican food. The food is good but not great, the prices are a bit on the high side but not unfair, and they do have a few signature dishes that are worth a try. You wouldn't think burgers at a Mexican restaurant but they do have a pretty good one. If you're not feeling the vibe of a spicy dinner, the burger is a good choice. Now, what they DO have is a solid neighborhood bar environment and the margaritas are great. It has an energetic night time atmosphere. I tried the Molcajete and had plenty to take home with me. Plenty of parking, decent bar, average food, so it's a yes if you are looking for standard Mexican fare. read more

Atmosphere: Exactly what you would expect when you see it from outside. Not super familiar with the area but there was literally NO diversity in the customer base. They had music playing over the PA system. It was okay but not very easy to have a conversation. Also, it can be a bit loud with the buzz of other voices in the room talking over the music. The bar was clean as well as the dining area and bathroom. Food: I only stopped to watch some basketball at the bar and get a drink or two. The margarita the bar tender made was good. After that, I just grabbed a beer. Lucky me, I had just eaten a bunch of free wedding food so I wasn't hungry. Service: Great service at the bar. If I ever come back to this area and restaurant, I would sit at the bar. My only complaint is that it was a bit loud inside. I usually don't like places that blast music really loud, especially if I am watching sports on the tv's in the bar area. Aside from that everything else was good.
