I was at the Irvine location Monday to join some friends "the Gray Matter Gurus" for Trivia night and wanted to compliment the staff for serving my dinner salad ( that comes in a large metal bowl- highly recommended) and spinach and cheese pinwheel (highly recommended) and a Cali Creamin beer (also highly recommended) with a smile. I'd like to especially recognize the host of the trivia night 'Lorraine' who peppered us with head scratching trivia in a fun flowing format. I'd like to start off this review with the hope that Sgt. Pepperoni's never changes. My friends introduced me to their pizzas during COVID and I fell head over heels in love. The quality is always top notch whether I buy a slice or an entire pizza. I love how thin their crust is and how they have an even distribution of toppings. Every bite is to be cherished and everything on their menu is delicious. I love that they recently expanded happy hour from Monday - Thursday to Monday - Friday. I work at UCI, so it allows me to unwind after a long week of work. I hope Sgt. Pepperoni's never changes. read more

Best pizza this side of Rome. Staff is always friendly. Bathrooms are clean. Cool little bar with a nice assortment of beer drinkin. Go for the monthly specials. They're super creative and always tasty. I must dock an invisible 6th star though. Everyone knows a Margherita pizza has tomato sauce on it. They continue to suprise guests with a "dry" margherita. What can I say? It's THE quintessential local pizza place. Closest I've found to a good NY style pizza in Irvine and both locations are really consistent. Can't go wrong with any pizza but the buffalo chicken, pepperoni and the bronx are our favorites. Pizza was oily and 25 minutes late -- AND it was delivered with two of the boxes turned on its side with the pizza being a huge oily mess of pepperoni mush. Pizza was good, not great, I should have had them heat my slice up, but I was trying to move fast and needed to leave. The mushroom special was pretty tasty in the crust was good, however, the margarita which I had them leave room temp instead of heating was kind of stiff and more like next day pizza from the fridge, which is unfortunate. The other surprise was the price I got only two slices and it was $15 which seems a little bit outrageous but I guess you can thank the current administration and tariffs for the rise and prices. For two times in a row over the past month I've ordered several hours ahead to pick up for dinner. Both times, the pick-up order was ready 25-30 minutes past the order time. Decided to swing by this location as a post-grocery shopping treat. It was pretty poppin' for a Monday evening! When we arrived, they had trivia going on, and it was quite full in their patio. We got the super bee, hawaiian five o, and the spinach pinwheel. The super bee wasn't ready when we arrived, so we waited the 10 minutes for one to be made. While we waited, we kind of played along with the trivia which was super fun! Our buzzer eventually rang, and we grabbed out pizza boxes and left. The staff confirmed with us that we got two pizzas and the pinwheel which we said yes. Upon coming home, we realized that we were missing the super bee slice. A bit of a bummer, but the other two items were still great. Lesson learned, next time we'll check our items before leaving. The store itself is a pretty decent size, and it looks like they have a bar area here! Very cool spot to grab pizza and hang with your friends either inside or their outdoor patio. read more

A great quick stop for some solid pizza. The staff was friendly and gave good recommendations. Definitely a family spot...not necessarily an intimate date night location, though you can grab the pizza and head to a nearby park pretty easily. We got two of their standard pizzas and one seasonal. All were very tasty--crisp crust, generous toppings, and big slices. Two per person was plenty to fill us up. There's a ton of free parking, which was very convenient, and a decent amount of outdoor seating as well. While we probably wouldn't go out of our way to go here again (don't live in the area), happy we stopped in and got to try it. TLDR; tasty pizza, reasonable pricing, great flavor combos. read more

Really enjoy the "meat lovers" pizza until the food poisoning kicked in a few hours later (think exorcist). Put me in the ER and my kids all got sick too. I won't add pictures as that would be in poor taste. This pizza is so good, It's a 20 minute drive with no traffic so when I'm in the neighborhood I bring g some home.. Got these galic knots that were super yummy. Last time I was in just ordering to go, I have a 5lb dog that lays un my purse/bag quietly. The girl gave me a hard time about no pets. I was just ordering for take out. Sgt pepperonis is great! We have been to date night a couple of times just on a random week night and for their weekly trivia event. It is nice that it is part of a busy complex w a lot of options. For instance, we have eaten here and gone to get Persian Ice Cream after. I have always been met w great service coming here in house, and while ordering takeout. There was one instance where they ran out of gift cards, which was a bummer, but they were definitely trying to find options to accommodate me (such as purchasing an online gift card) The food is incredibly tasty. The pizzas typically take 30-35 minutes and taste fresh. I definitely need to try more of the menu but can't help but indulge in my favorite ricotta pizza. Something about the dollops of ricotta cheese, regular cheese, Mariana sauce and meat balls makes this dish delightful and such a treat. read more

Ordered a Margherita pizza, but was a little confused as it was missing marinara. It still had great flavor, but it didn't quite hit without the marinara. Lots of cheese *slobber* so if you're not into cheese, it might not be for you. Location is pretty hidden, I've shopped at the Albertsons in the parking lot many times & have surprisingly never seen this place, but ironically you can smell it haha. (That's a compliment by the way.) They sell individual slices or entire pizzas. They're tucked in the corner of the plaza, seating indoor and outdoors, heating lamps on the outside too which is nice. It's a cute vibe, super chill. Came here after a day at the beach & the food hit the spot. read more

Went here for the first time and this place didn't disappoint. Ordered "the works" in 18" and was super satisfied. We ordered chicken wings in bbq sauce and mayo-sriracha and we love them both. Service is good and the place is even more amazing. We got long tables and bench to seat on and the overall ambiance gives a familiar feeling that you get when you share something special with the people you love and trust. 'd been invited to a friend's backyard BBQ and assigned to bring some pizzas.  Having completely forgotten about the event until that morning (when my Calendar reminded me), I used the Yelp app to refresh my pre-Pandemic memory of Sgt. Pepperoni's, and then placed a pick-up order for three of their signature pies. First up, the crust for all three pies was nicely executed; not too wet, not too dry, with a good chew and  and an optimal level of doneness.   Next, let's talk about my two favorite pies from that visit:  The  Grandma's Pie, which is baked with a Sicilian style thick crust, and the  Meatball Ricotta.  The former is a kind of NY pizza I've rarely seen West of the Hudson River; it's delicious and the pie is enormous - just the thing to bring to a pot luck, or any gathering that's filled with hungry pizza lovers.  The Meatball Ricotta is made with a really tasty mariana sauce that has a subtle yet tangy kick; the pie is then topped with delicious ricotta cheese and some truly amazing meatballs. All three pies I brought to the event were a hit and vanished in less than 15 minutes - I'm going to keep this place in my Yelp bookmarks  and I won't hesitate to return :-) read more

We come to Irvine quite often for basketball camps, tournaments etc...this will be our go to spot here on out. Staff is attentive , food comes out fast , great variety of pizza, salad, desserts etc. they sell pizza by the slice. Beer on tap , TVs...such a good chill spot. Great place for pizza! Feels like a retro pizza spot inside with a giant gumball machine and a few games. They have indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a small bar. I love the dough. It's perfectly cooked thin with a slight crunch. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients with each bite. My 4 year old who usually doesn't eat olives loved the olives from the Woks pizza. Pepperoni can get spicy for her though. But she won't stop eating it. Would definitely come back. read more
