Orange chicken with rice --wasn't the best orange chicken because the dish was more like fried wontons with orange sauce Beef shoulder hot pot ---the soup was too salty, but other than that this wasn't bad. The proportion was good enough for 2 if you order other entrees Braised pork belly with rice ---not the best dish either because the pork belly wasn't that good and the sauce tasted weird Overall, ordered a variety off the menu and I think it was disappointing. I don't think I'd be coming back. It was nice to try though. Just not my favorite. read more

Came here on a whim with my little family... but to my surprise food was yummy and more than anything the owner and staff where so attentive, sweet , and accommodating. We got the hot pot waygu sushi and some apps. A little secret hidden gem. I will definitely come again and visit with friends again soon. Thank you for the yummy food and service! read more

It was my first time here last night, and i think i'll def be returning for great quality hot pot and sushi when i'm in the area. Great attentive staff, amazing broths & top shelf beef. Yellowtail carpaccio appetizer was SO good, accompanied by great selections of sake & Japanese beers on tap. And their 85 wagyu...Ugh so good! It was full & busy yet we had really great service as well so thats a plus! read more

This was our first time having hot pot and this place was an absolute amazing experience for never having eaten it before. Everyone that was working while we were there were extremely nice and very attentive to our table. The staff was also very helpful in explaining how to cook the food since it was our first time doing it. The food itself came out in a very quick and timely manner. Everything that we ordered was delicious and flavorful. We recommend this place to anyone wanting a quick and easy meal. read more

Tried to like this place, tried to understand that we have pandemic going on but it was awful! :,( Service: poor.. very poor Atmosphere: very disorganized. Tables and chairs being upside down, sticky table and chairs, portable gas range/burners here & there... Food: clear water for broth costs $1, a bowl of rice cost a $1, everything costs $$$ and portions were tiny.. Meat smelled too. So happy that there is a shabu place in Chino! Food was delicious and service was great. I prefer to sit at the bar so my bf and I can have our own pots. I ordered the beef toro and my bf ordered the chuck prime. I prefer fattier meats. We ordered chicken karaage as a appetizer. Delicious! Perfect amount of crispy and the sauce was bomb. Most of the broths were $1 extra but I don't think that's bad at all. I've been to some places where they charge $3 for the broths! The veggie plate they provide is substantial as well. I finished all the food and had to be rolled out of the restaurant because I was so full. Overall, definitely recommend if you are in the area and craving some shabu! read more

Took my aunt and uncle here couple days ago, I cant tell you how great the meat quality is. I ordered the ribeye and uncle and aunt ordered chuck roll, they are all very tender. They don't bring out frozen meat slice roll like other SHABU places, they actually wait until it defrosted, which the meat will be more tender, very authentic SHABU Shabu place. Staff are super friendly and attentive as well! I recommend their vegetarian tonkotsu soup ! I will definitely come back and bring my other friends! read more

I contacted Wara for some takeout food to celebrate my dads birthday. He was craving chinese but didn't want any greasiness that comes with your typical chow mein and fried rice combo. Wara was just what we are looking for with excellent customer service, fast and efficient food preparation, great packaging for takeout and amazing flavors. The chow mein is super light and has a taste of homemade cooking. The mongolian beef was also a hit with just the right amount of flavor and spices. And you get 10% off when you check in on yelp! read more

Came here with my dad for dinner and we had a good experience. The noodles were house made and had a chewy texture which was nice. My dad enjoyed the champon and black bean noodles. I liked the champon more with its savory seafood broth. I noticed that other diners weren't really ordering the hot pot and they leaned towards the same dishes we ordered. The sides were subpar but nothing too bad to dock them on. Overall, good place for noodles! read more

Love this place! Great comfort food. We just tried the spicy chicken & orange chicken, and seafood noodle soup. Super good! Owner suggested we try the black bean noodle & I was scared to try it, but he gave me a small bowl and it was in deed yummy! So I will probably order it next time. The broth is very plain. You need to dip with sauce for everything. The price is high comparing with other shabu shabu restaurants. (Short rib $33 and Ribeye $43) I would say it's a okay shabu restaurant in Chino Hills area. If you want something good, the shabu restaurants in rowland heights might be a better choice. read more

Exceptional!!! We've moved out from OC recently where you can find great Shabu relatively easily. Not the same out here. Until we found Wara! Exception food with exceptional service. No really, truly great people, great portions of great choices and exceptional flavor. Admittedly we've only done take out but the way they treated us said a lot about this place. We'll keep that up and be there to dine in very soon. read more

Hands down best Shabu place I've been to. Out of everything we tried, the ribeye was the best. You can really taste the quality in their meat. We got the spicy tonkatsu broth along with ramen which was also really good. The service was very good even though it was super busy. The servers always came back to check on us. Overall, would definitely come back again. read more

This was my second visit here. I've been here before for hot pot, which was absolutely delicious. However, this time my partner was craving black bean noodles and she insisted on heading to this place. We were contemplating on ordering a large one and sharing, but were recommended to each get our own because the large might not be enough to share with two people if that's the only thing you want to eat (if you are ordering other dishes, a large is definitely enough). Now, I have to say that this is the best black bean noodles I've ever had. There were tender pieces of meat and veggies mixed into the sauce that were SO good. They also make their noodles fresh to order in house. FRESHLY MADE NOODLES!! So delicious. I would definitely recommend coming here for the black bean noodles. I was also so happy that I got my own bowl. I did not want to share at all. read more

The reason being for the low review is a combination of things. I believe a restaurant can fault in some areas if it is redeemed in others. While this restaurant has no bad downsides, it also has no high upsides. The meat was incredibly overpriced for the portion size, in my opinion, and the flavor was pretty mid-level. When I was done, my wallet was hit as if I had eaten a full meal, but my stomach thought I had an appetizer. If the prices were to go down or the quality went up a bit, I think this place could redeem itself. read more

If you're in LA and craving for hotpot with fresh meats, veg and seafoods with your family and friends, Shabu Wara is definitely worth dining at. My family and I had the sukiyaki and tomyam broth with seafood, lamb and beef as proteins and rice. In winter, the hotpot HIT THE SPOT. Fresh meats, flavourful broth, generous cuts of fresh vegetables. Staff were all professional and prompt in ensuring diners are having a wonderful experience. Came on a random weekday to have lunch with a girlfriend and our babies. Great service but we were the only ones there. Bulgogi fries were so good. French fries topped with beef bulgogi and a fried egg. Little one year old really enjoyed this as did the moms. For hot pot we ordered the double (beef and spicy seafood) which was perfect. Came with 2 orders of noodles and 2 orders of beef plus 2 veggie plates. Broths were really good - I actually preferred the spicy seafood. They also serve macaron ice cream sandwiches so we got two - one green tea and one strawberry. A bit pricier than I would have liked but good overall. read more

They said veggies were unlimited but they tried to charge me when I ask for just more cabbage. If you are getting Shabu shabu this is not the place. The meat was not seasoned like the other places I've been to. I will not be coming back here. There are way better places. read more

Got the Jajangmyun to-go and ate it immediately in the parking lot since it smelled so good! They packed the noodles and sauce separately which I loved since last time I ordered Jajangmyun at a different shop, they packed it together and it got soggy. The sauce is really good and has all these vegetables and pork in it. However, I took a star off since the noodles were very overcooked and soft. I'd come back though. Hopefully the noodles aren't too soft next time! read more

We sat for over **20 minutes** without anyone coming to our table--not even to offer water. I eventually had to get up and ask someone to send a server over. What made it even more frustrating was watching other parties who arrived **15-20 minutes after us** receive water immediately and have their orders taken before anyone even acknowledged our table. After finally waiting another 10 minutes to receive our water, we had to track down our server again just to place our food order because no one returned to check on us. By that point, we had been sitting long enough and were more than ready to order. To make matters worse, we ordered an appetizer of coconut shrimp about five minutes after placing our entrée order, but it never arrived. After we had already finished our meals, we asked to cancel it, only to be told that our server had never entered the order in the first place. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the poor service. It lacked flavor and was very underwhelming. This experience was frustrating enough that I cannot recommend Reunion Kitchen. I initially wanted to believe this was simply an off day or an inexperienced server, but after hearing from two other people I know who described nearly identical experiences, it seems this may be a recurring issue. One thing that left me especially uncomfortable was seeing guests who arrived well after us receive prompt attention while our table was repeatedly overlooked. I can't say why that happened, but it certainly made us question whether we were being treated differently. I sincerely hope the restaurant looks into its service standards and ensures every guest is treated with the same level of respect and attention.

Yelp definitely did not let us down! So we've been to Griffins a handful of times over the last yearish and while their menu is petite and nearly unchanged, we still usually get the same things. The most recent visit, we ordered our usual: 20 oz ribeye medium rare, patatas bravas, and crispy brussel sprouts. For the ribeye, I will say this time around compared to the other times we've been here, it was quite lacking. The ribeye was less flavored than usual and I feel like we either got an like an older piece of ribeye or maybe a poor cut off the ribeye because it was quite chewy and a bit tough in some places and not really tender. It was cooked perfectly medium rare, but it was just too chewy and it was not it's usual. I hope this is just a one off thing and that the next time we come back it's the usual delicious and tender one piece of ribeye. The patatas bravas were delicious, crispy, well displayed, and in two different sauces (forgot the name lol) and very tasty. The other highlight is their crispy brussel sprouts. We try and order this at any restaurant; however, most do not do it as perfect as Griffins. It is super crispy, but not charred, very flavorful but not overpowering for a side dish/appetizer, and most importantly, it's not greased up like so many other places. The restaurant is located in that downtown Brea and has plenty of seating but always do reservations regardless. The environment is more dark, relaxing, and a great date spot. Parking is no issue as there is parking in the back (which I believe is valet) but there is a parking structure across the street. Pricing is as expected when compared to other restaurants of similar caliber. Griffins has a very large alcohol drink section, but the ladyfriend and I prefer our non alcohol drinks and I can never say no to Dr. Pepper. Aside from this off night ribeye we had, highly recommended if you are looking for a steak restaurant in this year. Their brussel sprouts will never let you down either!
