Expect a loooooooong wait time to be seated. 4 stars because they never pick up their phones when calling with questions. Also the customer service can use a little work. Waited about 15 minutes for the waiter to come back and check on us. We wanted more meat to add to the broth. I had asked for a coke as well. Came back almost 10 minutes later and asked if we needed anything and he had forgotten about the coke. I understand that you make a living off tips and time can fly by while attending different tables but TAKE CARE of the tables you're already attending. Visited on a Tuesday around 3 PM. There was no wait. Upon being seated I noticed the bowls, spoons and pots were all dirty. I asked for replacements and those were dirty as well. Recently went here with a large party and I really liked the place. I'm starting off with the service because it was very attentive and we had a great experience. Every person we interacted with was very accommodating and helpful. Real service with a smile. The meat in particular comes out in about 2 minutes max because there was a dedicated meat plate runner that just took the electronic order from the kitchen it seems. She doesn't even need to talk to people. She just hands you your cold plates of raw meat and onto the next table or order she goes. She also did the appetizer delivery. Very efficient. The main server does the drinks, broth, and heating operation. I liked having my own bowl as I don't have to be concerned with what my table mates are eating or how they like their food. My dad, for instance is the only vegetarian in our family and has to have his own bowl no matter if it's a shared bowl or not. The broth takes a bit longer than usual to heat up though. The veggies and and seafood are self serve and that's great because everyone has their own preferences. Good selection there and they have 2 sides that have the same sauces so there's not a waiting in just one section. As a result, the customers quickly get everything they need. For the appetizers that you can order, the gyoza tasted great but the karaage is too crunchy and has too much batter. Also the flavor types I think just toss on seasoning. A bit underwhelming but I'm just nitpicking. Drinks besides water cost extra. So I'm a big fan of the spacious table layout, food layout, food choices, delivery and overall service. Took a friend tonight to try Shabuya for the first time. When we got there, the hostess/manager (Annie) informed us that we may or may not get a table due to limited seating with the covid restrictions in place. After waiting for about an hour or so, we were about to leave, but upon seeing this, she worked miracles to secure us the last table of the evening. Beyond the great food (40 plates of meat between the 3 of us), Annie was attentive, checking in with us numerous times, and simply a joy to converse with, even during these trying times for local businesses. 5 stars for the food, double that for the hospitality! First time trying this hot pot restaurant & I really liked it! I tried the Sukiyaki soup base & it was delicious! If you want something with a lot of flavor, I suggest getting this one. I like how you have your own Shabu pot & don't have to share with people. I also really like the salad bar. It has a lot of different veggies, seafood, noodles, & sauces! The wait is not too long here, we waited just about 20 minutes on a Saturday holiday evening. The servers were very attentive. They explained how their hot pot worked. I found it a bit pricey as I have tried other hot pot places in the area. Adults are 25.00 per person and children are 15.00. At this restaurant you choose your own items to be placed in your soup. I don't like this method. I guess in my head, buffets still seem a bit unsanitary to me. But all the while, all items appeared clean. I much prefer places where they bring your choices to the table. The only other downfall here is that they do not have a wine license. All in all, not bad for standard hot pot. read more

My boyfriend and I along with a couple of friends ventured to Concord to try this restaurant on a Saturday night. It was my very first time ever at Shabuya (and at a hot pot restaurant really) and I, overall, had a good time. Shabuya is located in the busy side of Veranda Plaza adjacent to Banana Republic, Poke Bowl, EMC, etc. Parking, as usual, was a nuisance as it was and always is so packed. Upon walking into the restaurant, I immediately noticed how small and crowded the waiting area was. Not only were there lots of people sitting and standing, guests who were walking in and out also go through that area and the servers and hosts/hostesses too. Pretty inconvenient! I did like the ambiance of the place though as it was pretty modern and the design was gorgeous. And unlike the waiting area, the dining area was pretty spacious which was nice. We were seated on a booth after 35 minutes of waiting (though my boyfriend and I only waited for 20 since we got there later than our friends. Lol!) And I liked on how the table was wide and had enough space for the meats, appetizers and, of course, bowls of broth for 4 people. I got the Original Chicken Kraage as my appetizer and though bland, I still enjoyed it. In terms of soup base, I ordered the miso broth, and it was tasty and pretty decent unlike my boyfriend's tonkatsu broth. For meats, we ordered everything available that night but couldn't really tell the difference especially when cooked. The best part of Shabuya is the variety of seafood, vegetables, sauces, etc. available in the self service bar. I thought it was awesome. Price, I think, was a little steep ($27pp) especially for dinner so make sure to take advantage of the meats as much as you can and don't be like me who went overboard with the seafoods. Lol! Service was good too. Our server was attentive and made sure we didn't run out of broth, meats, and water. Prior to going to Shabuya, I wasn't a big hotpot fan. I was very excited about Shabuya re-opening but my experience was anything but pleasant. I would give this 1 star but because my waiter was so kind I decided to give it 2. I initially called 20 min before arrival because I couldn't join waitlist online due to my party was over 5 people. They said there was no wait. Once we arrived, they said the wait is now 45 min to 1 hour. I was already off to a bad start, I know this is not their fault, but I just wish while I initially had them on the phone, the staff could've offered a reservation. So 1 hour later we were seated, ordering was kind of easy. The meat just didn't taste the same from my previous experience and thats mainly the reason why we came. There were open tables all over but we were sat at a long large-party table immediately beside two other customers and told that we could not move down a few places. After being seated we were told that it was last call and we needed to make all of our appetizer and meat orders in the next 30 minutes. So we made some rushed decision and tried to make the best of it. The whole restaurant had a strange odor - raw seafood mixed with cleaning chemicals. The salad bar was a mess. The broth arrived cold and took forever to heat up, and it had an unpleasant flavor. We attempted to cook some vegetables and beef in our cold broth so that we could order more meat. However, after one unpleasant bite, we just decided to leave. We paid for what we received and went to Eureka, who were truly open until 11pm. read more

There are so many options such as a variety of fish balls, shrimp, tofu, clams, muscles, quail eggs, assorted veggies, and a variety of noodles. The station is self serve and it is constantly restocked. Only one person per party at at time and you are required to sanitize your hands and wear gloves each time you get food from the station. O My Gosh! I can't rave enough about how excellent this restaurant was. To start the service was phenomenal, people were constantly keeping drink cups full, bringing protein and appetizers out right away, and providing literally everything we needed within seconds of request along with bussers constantly stopping by to grab the many plates we went through allowing ampul room for more items! The food was amazing and the open food bar was always filled with every option! Was completely satisfied with our time spent tonight :) highly recommend for a fun date night or group gathering. Me and my family are on a keto diet and this place is definitely keto friendly! the marbling of their beef toro and the taste of the beef chuck hits the spot! their broth are very good but my favorite would be the regular house special broth which is the base of all their broth. Their meat is so good that it is enough to give flavor to their simplest broth. they have vegetables that served as my carbs instead of eating rice and noodles. their noodles looked so good and enticing. They also have clams, octopus, shrimp,swai, fish balls, shrimp balls, lobster balls and veggie balls at the buffet table. their spicy asian sauce was good too but i wish they had regular ponzu and sesame oil The staff were all so welcoming, enthusiastic and very fast! We had 3 people checking on us constantly... namely D.Va, artist and the filipino guy who didnt have his name tag on... they were all so nice to us. they always made sure that our cup of water are never empty and that we had meat on the table all the time! haha! Girlll I went for the lunch special with a group of four and it took them soooo long to seat us I legit almost left I'm not kidding Not that bad of a price but for it being endless buffet for the meat I figured out how they actually make their money... they dead ass check on u every like 15 mins . I've been to this location about 4 times. We've always had great service. However, last night we went to celebrate my daughters achievement and the waitress (Gabby) gave terrible service. We had a couple issues (propane ran out) and while the rest of our food was boiling, my husband had to wait for her to come around. She kept disappearing. At one point I couldn't tell who was servicing us, the two busboys, a manager, or another gentleman. Considering they want you to keep your dinner under an hour and a half, it'd be nice nice to have had our appetizers we had to keep asking for ours, yet other tables were getting theirs. No need to share grimey chopsticks with your sick friends or those with poor eating habits. Meat options are plentiful here, personally, I prefer the leanest beef, and all of the beef here was tender and edible. Many all you can eat places have terrible quality meat, rendering the unlimited portion pointless. The ingredients are all located at the center of the restaurant and you can plate to your heart's desire. I'm glad they had many vegetable options, including tong hao, which is a must if you're eating hot pot. Bok choy and napa are good too. Sauces plentiful and you can make your own sauce. Noodle choice plentiful, they have glass noodles, ramen, udon, soba, etc. The wait during dinnertime on a weekend was around 30 minutes. Ovearll, would definitely come back. I absolutely love love this place! Shabuya is an All-you-can-eat Hot pot! Friends and I went to celebrate our "Friends-Christmas" at Shabuya (which at the time was still fairly new and very busy). First: there's no reservations per se, but if you can put your name down on the waiting list. You will need to make sure your full party is present before you are seated. When you get seated your host well yell out "Party of ___" and the staff will yell "Welcome to Shabuya" I love this! Second: Atmosphere inside is dark colored, but I really like the layout of the booths and tables. Plenty of room to walk around without worrying about bumping into seated guests or the staff. Third: Music can be a bit too loud in general. They do have a birthday-bit where they will annouce and invite everyone to greet Happy Birthday (no awkward singing) and play a relevant song through their system. My go-tos are: Spicy miso Wagu beef Pork belly mussels quail eggs udon broccoli with some yuzu+spicy oil dipping sauces. Their capri-soju drinks are a hit or miss but are fun cocktails! Not that it matters but I drove from San Jose twice this week because I love the Milpitas one so much I even came for their soft opening here but I joined the list at 6pm on the way over, 1 hr 45 min wait ok sure, Ill get over it. I get there at 7 with 20+ tables to go so I wait it out but I go to check in at 8pm and they tell me they wont be able to seat me today. So youre telling me 3 hrs advanced notice twice this week and you guys couldnt pull it together once? When Covid is over well all remember this and Im done patronizing this place.
