Shake Shake Shake, Shake Shake Shake, Shake your Shackie! When Shake Shack opened up in Miami Beach in 2010 we felt special. Florida was getting our mouths on the NYC fast food craze launched by luxury restaurateur Danny Meyer. This was only the 3rd location and it was opening in South Beach. The classic fast food burger experience was being elevated with premium ingredients and a premium price tag. When the Boca restaurant opened a few years ago the familiarity of the concept made this one of many premium burger spots. Shake Shack does a great job of keeping it simple and delicious. They have a small menu which means every option is good. I still enjoy the burgers but I have become a bigger fan of the Chicken Shack. It is an extra crispy chicken breast with their amazing herb mayo and those wonderful pickles. They have pretty good krinkle cut fries and the fun option of adding cheese (I prefer it on the side as a dipper than their default pour over). They also have super thick shakes but this is far too much food for one visit so I recommend picking two out of the three. Be sure to check the board for seasonal specials. If you are visiting on the long weekends for Memorial Day, Labor Day or Independence Day then they may be serving their secret corn dog. read more

I love Shake Shack regardless of where it's at. This is the first one that I've been to not in a major city, and it certainly has a different vibe. There's outdoor seating, lots of space, and pets. Before I started my weight loss program, I took a little field trip here and it was soooo worth it. I decided to switch it up and get a chicken dog. Pretty good, but I probably wouldn't get it again. I'm faithful to the cheese fries. I get them every. single. time. And they always taste the same. And the apple shake...oh my goodness. This was only my second time getting it, but it gets better with time just like fine wine. I'm a Shake Shack fan. I know people think it's overrated, but it's my favorite burger joint. I ordered the Shackburger double with the Shacksauce, cheese fries and a vanilla shake. I ordered this bad boy medium with all the fixings. They weren't kidding about this burger. I think it's better than Burgerfi. It was what a burger should be juicy, flavorful, thick and perfectly grilled. The cheese fries were equally delectable. My milkshake could have brought the boys to the yard. I also took a bite of my companion's Chick n Shack sandwich and thought about stealing it away. I didn't want to cause a scene though. I visited the Shake Shack that is near FAU for the first time yesterday. I had been wanting to try their burgers for a long time, but never had. Diane and I and her cousin Gary went for dinner to the Shake Shack. The restaurant was much smaller than I had expected, judging from the outward appearance. You wait in line to give your order and pay and then wait to be buzzed when your meal is ready. I ordered one of their house craft beers after they gave me a taste. It was very good! I combined it with a cheeseburger and some crinkle fries that I shared with Diane. My order took about 10 minutes to come out. When I went to retrieve it, the friendly staff member gave me a coupon for a free hamburger and fries to compensate for the wait! I was very impressed. My meal was very tasty. Shake Shack was extremely clean. The staff was efficient, friendly, and helpful. Overall, I was greatly impressed with everything. They really went out of their way to make my visit an enjoyable one. I want to start by saying how much I love shake shack and this review is not about the food, I have left reviews for other shake shack locations before and always positive. I've come to this location a bunch of times and never left a review because the burger was good but the service is just crap. I specifically order in the app because I don't want to wait in a long line to be treated like crap from the person taking my order which has happened numerous times. When I order in the app, I wait till the latest time given for the order to be finished and then go inside to a specific location where the food usually is. Today the food wasn't there. So I waited and after about 10 min I figured I'd better get in line and ask if my order even came through. Long story short they had all app orders off to the side where no one could see including our drinks. How do you have a designated spot and no keep customers orders there?! Well I expressed my concern to the lady helping me Said "oh you should have said something" why I waited for the food to be in its designated spot. Why wouldn't you put a sign if I shouldn't be waiting for it there. This location has lost my business. my experience at the shake shack was actually quite enjoyable we sat outside and we were served very quickly but not too quickly to feel like we were being kicked out... The food is amazing, the service is great the sanitizing and social distancing guidelines are strictly enforced... Within reason of course because not everyone wants to follow the rules, but for a quick bite with the family for a decent price, this place is fantastic. As a certified culinarian.... I would recommend it as the only family oriented not too high class restaurant within 2 mi.²... as we all know everyone's on a budget right now. And this restaurant is absolutely worth trying out especially if you have children or are just looking to have a quick bite and be on your way... I will be back with my family next time!! read more

So I have been to this location several times. My usual go to order is the chicken apple sausage or the 'shroom burger. I ordered the shroom burger with extra pickles no tomato and add onions. I love their fries even though they are frozen. I also asked for a side of extra shack sauce. I was a little annoyed because literally as soon I was up to place my order they finally opened another register and it was oddly busy for that night. The food was good but I really wish they still had the grilled chicken sandwich on the menu. I love the pie concrete but wish they went back to flavored custard besides chocolate and vanilla. I ended up with the grilled cheese because I didn't want anything too greasy as the main course. It was alright. Nothing to write home about (read: five guys does it better). I also got cheese fries. Their fries are not great. It's almost as if they've been sitting in their own grease for so long that it's made them crunchy? Came here on a busy Saturday with a friend to split a burger after brunch. Yes, we had already eaten prior to coming here. Yes, that was stupid. Next time I go on an empty stomach. Let me start by saying that I *love* this place. We come at least twice a year (sometimes 2-3x per trip we take down to SoFlo). It's a family tradition. However, the last few times we've been here, cleanliness has really taken a huge hit. Now, food is still good, but today, our experience was totally subpar. The cashier was way unpleasant and got my sister's order wrong. Our fries were lukewarm at best. But worst of all, the restrooms were PUUUURE nastiness. Stench of urine all over, faucets barely working, hand dryers stained with what looks like mold (maybe?). The walls and floors need an INTENSE scrubbing session, stat. Seriously Shack Shake, I love you, but you need to do WAY better in the future. Filthy restrooms have us doubting the standards in the kitchen. Shake Shack has been on my radar for quite a while now and I really wanted to like this place more. After having seen them in many cities and thinking they were a "specialty" burger restaurant, I decided to try this location. Of course, I am comparing it to other burger specialty restaurants I have frequented in Dallas and Prague, who actually add extra/unique ingredients to their burgers to make them stand out from everybody else's, so my bar was set pretty high. Back to the Shack - their burgers aren't horrible by any means, but to me, it doesn't stand out in taste over a regular fast food burger place. There is some sort of Shack Sauce that goes on the burgers, but I can't say that I really tasted anything different(?) I do remember the bun being nice and soft. Same with my strawberry milkshake. Not sure if they use fresh strawberries in there, but it definitely needed more of a strawberry taste. I wasn't familiar with the Shake Shack chain or concept so I decided to check out some of the reviews from other Yelpers and friends and get up to speed. I had a bit of a time finding the place as I drove twice from one end of the University Commons strip mall to the other. It's just east of the strip mall and directly across the street from FAU in a stand alone building. I arrived around 12:30 on a Friday and I bet any other day this place would be mobbed about then. This was the day after hurricane Mathew blew thru the area so I presume the college was closed for the day as the place was fairly empty and no sign of college kids. I was in luck! I had already checked out the menu and after reading fellow Yelper Jen's review I was going to order what she had but I changed my mind and couldn't do it. I haven't had much of an appetite lately but that's a whole different story. I went simple and ordered a Shack Burger which is your basic burger, comes as a single or double, I went single. I also ordered some Crinkle Cut fries and decided to wash it down with some water. About $8 n change, I settled up and they handed me my buzzer to notify me when my order was ready. There's a condiments station to grab salt, pepper, ketchup and mayo. I never eat my fries with ketchup, in fact I rarely eat ketchup. It's only in my fridge for my son and other guests but today I decided to get a cup of ketchup and dip my fries in it. About 5-8 minutes my food was ready as evidenced by the buzzer going off and my name being shouted from behind the counter. The burger was a little on the small or perhaps "wimpy" side but like I said, not much of an appetite so it worked for me. Not a fan of the Shack sauce but will definitely go back to try other burgers. The fries were amazing with or without dipping them in ketchup. I like this place. I like the offering of some regular and specialty burgers. I'm definitely trying the Shack Stack on a future visit, sounds delicious! I also like that they post the calorie count next to each item so I'll have to skip a meal so I can splurge on that 1,000 calorie burger, lol. read more

Shake Shack is a premium fast food experience. I'd be inclined to give 4 stars if I'd never been to a BurgerFi. The menu offers something unique and different for everyone, including dogs apparently. Very cool. We tried two different burgers, a chicago style hotdog, fries, chocolate shake, and shake shack branded beer. Everything tasted fine, but the sauces, over-abundance of cheese and topings stole flavor and attention from the beef and for me that's not okay. If you're not a purist, then perhaps this is the place for you. Maybe I should have just tried a simple hamburger instead of the 'Shack Stack' which put a cluple deep fried portabello mushrooms on top of a beef patty. In the end, it sounded better than it actually was. Perhaps diced and sautéd instead of fried would improve this burger. The draft beer was cold, crisp and refreshing. The prices are a bit steeper than typical fast food chains but this is a reflection of quality and better ingredients. Burgers shouldn't be a dollar, so you've come to the wrong place if that's your only point of reference. That being said, they still nickel and dime you-- $0.50 for whip cream added to a shake? C'mon guys, you're not making enough margin on your sauce and cheese sandwiches? We drove 20 minutes just to try this place. It's not bad but BurgerFi definitely has an edge. But if Shake Shack was the only thing nearby then this isnt a bad spot for premium burgers. Plus it looks like their shake and ice cream offerings may be more favorable. read more

I just had the MOST AMAZING cheeseburger ever!!! The Shake Stack is a regular cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and shack sauce topped with a fried cheese stuffed (muenster and cheddar) portobello mushroom!! OMG it was delicious! As soon as you bite into it the cheese from the mushroom ooze's out like fondue everywhere and it never seems to run out of cheese they really fill it full of delicious cheese. I ate the whole burger it was THAT GOOD!! Add a few miles to my run later lol!! It's national cheeseburger day and I came here because I am not a fan of five guys and didn't want fast food so I decided to come and try this place out and I am so happy I did!! This place received a lot of hype, and while I do not live close to here, I do fancy a good burger with fries. It seems that this place is known for being compared to places like In and Out Burger, Burger Fi, and similar joints. Pending on who you ask, they always rate one or the other head and heels over the other. I had a different perspective. The menu is quite interesting with great flavors and toppings for their burgers and fries. You can also add a shake to your meal in a wide variety of seasonal and staple flavors. I ordered the cheese and bacon fries with the SmokeShack single cheeseburger topped with all-natural applewood smoked bacon ( I got extra!), chopped cherry pepper, and ShackSauce and topped the meal off with a Pumpkin Pie Shake. It took about 10 minutes to make and get out to us and cost more than I would have normally paid for a burger and fries of this size. The fries remind me of the crinkle fries you buy by the bag at the grocery store and the special white cheddar was nothing to write home about. Just a generic cheese sauce with chopped bacon. Not even enough to get a little on all the fries, just the top ones. The Burger was where it stepped up. It was small (think McDonalds hamburger but tastier and taller) and made on a potato bun which was great. The addition of the cherry peppers was excellent! The tang and pop of that flavor really brought out the taste of the bacon. I couldn't taste the shakesauce so no comment on that. Next time, I'll get it on the side. The shake was AMAZING! It tasted like I was drinking an actual pie. It was thick and satisfying without a artificial taste to it. Overall, Shake Shack has some pros (shroom burger, shakes, cherry peppers!) and come cons (price, fries, sizes). If you can wonder why I give the Miami location top marks, and this sad shack three, look no further than bad management, and bad decision-making on the site plan. This is a pretty small shack, about half the size of Miami's. That would be okay, except the majority of the seating remains outdoors on a covered patio. It's 85 degrees out. They have fans. They're not running. When you ask a cleaning person, they don't know how to get them on. They're just there for show, apparently. When it rains, the patio is so tight that the seats on the outside are going to get wet. They are busy because it's the latest trendy thing in a town that adores its latest trendy things. All of which would be kind of tolerable, if the food was pretty good, if you just wait for seats in the dry spots, or those coveted indoor seats. The food here isn't even as good as it is at other Shake Shacks though. My Shack-ago Dog is burned and under-sized from the cooking. The hamburgers are so-so. The fries are cold. This, after you wait 10 minutes or more in the food line (shorter for the custards and sweets line. Then, of course, with all of that it would be nice if they got my order right. They haven't. Three times in a row. Different visits since opening. My ticket has all of the food. The kitchen tickets? Nah. Once? Unfortunate. Twice. Incompetent. Three times? Burger Fi next trip. It's got similar food, their shakes suck, but they have service down, and valet parking to comp for their great beachside location. They have enough indoor and outdoor seating, not all at picnic tables a-la Shake Shack either. The burgers and fries there are as good BUT they get my order right 99% of the time. Before coming here, all I had heard about this restaurant was on 'CNBC' and related to their financials. After, visiting this location I understand why their stock seems to always be in the headlines. They make really, really good freaking burgers! When I walked in the door I was greeted immediately by friendly staff who helped me decide what to get and took my order. The employee gave two options. The standard cheeseburger and one that was much more intense sounding. So of course, I went with the second option. This happened to be the 'Shroom Burger, "crisp fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce tomato and ShackSause." Holy crap, even just reading that made my mouth water. I also got a side of fries and a drink. But, the burger really stole the show. When I bit down into the burger the fried mushroom and cheese concoction exploded with cheese. Explosions tend to be a bad thing, but not in this case. One thing that I noticed was the employees attention to detail and cleanliness. The staff here definitely has a sense of purpose. I really love that about any business. The location, directly across from FAU Boca, on Glades road is perfect. I'm sure that college students, myself included, flock to this location. However, I did have one small thing that I wasn't all too happy about. The price! I know that they have a price point that is based on food costs and a ton of other stuff. But over $16 for a burger, fries and a drink puts this meal out of reach as far as a restaurant that I'd attend more regularly. If the cost was slightly lower I would probably come back more often. With that being said, I will still be back regardless. I still need to try their shakes and other menu items. read more

SO many of my Californian friends have told me that I need to try Shake Shack to compare it to In-N-Out to compare the two...some have said Shake Shack is better and others say In-N-Out is better. So I got a portobello mushroom burger with a whole piece of portobello in it! The menu was small (good thing) which made it easy to choose. I also got a side of fries to go with the burger. BTW props to them for serving Stumptown coffee! What a pleasant feeling to see a little west coast on the menu :) FIRST OFF - crinkle-cut fries. DOUBLE-FRIED CRINKLE CUT FRIES. So apparently they know how to make fries as crispy as possible :O I lost my shit on the fries lol the crispiness carries over to the burger too! The buns were crisped (reminiscent of In-N-Out for me lol) and the patty had crispy edges! The patty probably had a high fat content because they def must have fried the patty in its own fat! This crispiness perfectly contrasted with the meaty, chewiness of the whole portobello mushroom MMMMMM. I could give an F about the shake shack special sauce though...It was thick and horse-radishy...not a fan. I would much prefer a good ole Thousand Island in my burger (again, an homage to In-N-Out). I used to love this place, now it's another corporate-run POS. Everything that was supposed to be hot came out lukewarm, including my beer. We're paying top dollar for burgers here and were made to input our order on a kiosk? All our food came out wrong I ordered a double and got a single, my kids ordered hamburgers and received cheeseburgers, we ordered 3 parm fries and received 2 regular also, the shakes were melted. When we asked the people behind to amend the order we received eye rolls and attitude. As a mother of a teenager, I get enough of that at home, I don't need that behavior from the "service industry" as well. When my husband tried to order the beer from the kiosk, he needed an attendant to verify the age-he waited 3 minutes for someone to even notice him. By the time someone came, the kiosk logged out. My husband asked if the man could take his order but the guy insisted on re-logging into the kiosk to input the beer. To top all this off is a sizable chunk of audacity. Spent almost $40 on 2 doubles, two fries and two shakes...way over priced. The place was dirty, bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned all day. Looks like it's poorly managed. Political messages on T-shirts alone was a turn off. Won't be back. read more

First and only time I will ever eat here! The absolute worst. I should have trusted my instincts and driven away. The trash around the outside of the building, dirty unclean tables, the disorganized interior, the rude and extremely unhelpful cashiers, the kitchen looked like a bomb went off and workers scurrying around, touching their faces and then touching the food, waiting for over 20 minutes, only to receive a burger that was undercooked and absolutely pitiful!!!!!
