This was one the only places in Glendale open during late hours. Hours are great but food is okay. Normally made fresh and I love their soft buns and charred meat but overall it just doesn't do it for me. Prices here are very high for it being a fast food. $110 for a few simple cheeseburgers, fries and drinks is pretty crazy to me. I always say I won't return back here because of their pricing because I could go to a dine in restaurant for these prices. Food ok, inside freezing but clean interior.

The place was a standard shake shack ambiance. It was busy but not too busy where we were greeted and served quickly. The burger I ordered was terrible! Poorly put together, the burger patty wasn't even a patty but almost like bits of meat held together with cheese (as seen in the pic). The cheese sauce literally squirted out of the burger as I took a bite (very unappealing). The mushroom part of the burger was huge but the burger itself was hardly there. The buns were too small for the burger (the bottom one could hardly be found!). When getting a refill for my sprite took 3 minutes, I decided to leave. The place was somewhat dirty as well, many areas uncleaned including where the ketchup and napkins were.

Shake Shack is a now well known burger chain offering upscale fast food at an upscale price. It's been a few years since I've been to Shake Shack and I thought I would try it again. This location is very much like any other Shake Shack offering expensive food with good quality. My double shack burger ($10.99) was excellent- the bun was soft and buttered perfectly, the paddies excellent merged well with the cheese, and vegetables fresh. Service was fast but I was a little annoyed to be prompted for a tip from a fast food restaurant. I brought my little one and was quite occupied by his rambunctiousness so when I asked an employee walking by if I could have a high chair I was a little annoyed that they pointed me to the back of the restaurant instead of getting me one. There was only one other occupied table in the restaurant. It's small, but if you ask for a tip and sell yourself as being upscale little things like this make all the difference - and are the reason I couldn't put today's visit in 5-star territory. Despite the quality I've always found Shake Shack to be a little overpriced. An equally if not slightly better burger can be found at a much better price across the street at In and Out. Nonetheless if you are looking for something simple, good, yet a little uninspired, you can't go wrong with the Americana Shake Shack. Food: 5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Service: 3.5/5 Value: 3.5/5

I came here often when I lived in this area 6-7 years ago. I liked it a lot back then. Food still tastes ok. But my Chicken sandwich bun is not that pretty as before. The bun was kinda flattened not fluffy...looked a little dehydrated Service is fine. Employees were happily talking to each other. Took a while to realize that I was waiting to ask for my drink that they forgot. Place was clean.

Located near the Americana, Shake Shack is known for their sweet buns on their juicy burgers. Parking is a bit difficult in this area, you might get lucky with street parking, or the parking lot behind Shake Shack, if not you'll have to go a couple blocks over to one of the paid parking structures. Ordering at Shake Shack is now all self serve. You place your order at one of the ipads, grab a number, and they'll bring you your food. I got the "big shack burger" a special menu item at the time. It essentially was a big mac, two beef patties, a middle bun, tomato, onion, lettuce, the works. It was about $16 without fries. The burger was cooked well and juicy. The veggies inside were fresh and crisp. A special shout out to them using real produce, the onions were whole and not some chopped up mess. The lettuce was unwilted and actually had some flavor to it. I imagine back in the 50s this is kind of what burgers were like before they got turned into these mass produced chemical scienced abominations. Overall it was a good burger. It was not the best burger I've had for $16, but it is better than the other fast food burgers I've had recently. If you're looking for something simple and good, then this is the burger place you should try.

Finally tried the vegetarian shake shack mushroom burger. It squirted in my face when I bit into it, that's how juicy it is. I like that they put so much cheese in it. It had a lot of body for something vegetarian. I'd get it again but shake shack is so damn expensive. Also needs like ranch or an aioli to add some moisture n sauciness

Chicken Nuggets and Fries. Very good and fresh.

Premium burgers. We like Shake Shake, but don't love it. The burgers for my taste need more seasoning; and next time I will add ONIONS to my order. Not to compare, but "In-N-Out Burger" may be lesser tier in terms of quality beef and menu offerings, but the burgers there are tastier. However... We love the shakes, chicken sandwich, fries, and offerings of adult beverages. Staff are so nice at this location. Music is nice. Plus it's open late: till 11pm. Parking is in the back ALLEY paid meter or structured parking . Homeless population are present in the alley and around, but mostly harmless. It's an LA problem not Shake Shack.

shake shack has very tasty burgers with very flavorful meat patties. there's quite a few cons with the biggest at double the price at almost $9 for a single burger that's kinda small. the buns aren't toasted and crispy and there isn't an option for grilled onions. i rarely go to shake shack but it does taste better than in n out every time. plenty of seats inside and outside and got free parking at glendale galleria.

I absolutely love Shake Shack, and so does my pup Howie! Alejandro, Allie, Alexis, Michael, and the whole crew make every visit feel so warm and welcoming--it's truly a community here. My dog insists on walking me over, and they treat him like the king he is. The customer service is consistently outstanding, and the food? Always fresh, delicious, and worth every bite. Thank you for bringing so much joy to me and Howie--we couldn't love this place more! -Natalie

We love shake shack. Always a great burger and fries we grabbed a bunch of burgers to go at this location and were very happy with our decision. The cashier was quick to take our order. The surrounding area is very clean and safe. There is outdoor seating available as well. The restaurant was very clean inside I took off a star for the bathroom not being as clean as it should be but overall it was great experience. Very limited on street parking which requires you pay.

In a quick overnight trip to LA checked in pretty late and almost everything was closed or closing some fancier places still open but just wanted a quick bite. Saw this as it was accross the street and grabbed some food to eat at the hotel. Order a double cheeseburger, fries and a strawberry shake and I was pretty much pot committed when I saw the almost $24 charge. To be honest the meat was very good and the hamburger was juicy and bun was great. I enjoyed the fries also as they were crispy on the outside but tender inside and well seasoned. The shake was outstanding. The service was good, the place was busy but efficient but just can't get over the price. A family of four could easy drop almost $100 and that probably does not include the tip so too pricey for me for this cost I would go to a full sit down restaurant. So the food a solid 4, the vibe is a 4.5 but can only give it a 3 for the value.

One inch longer metal was found inside my hamburger
    A G.

I love Shake Shack; it's the best place for cheeseburgers! Today, during lunch at the Glendale location, I ordered a double cheeseburger with a side of cheese fries to go. Once I got to the office and began enjoying my meal, I was halfway through my burger when I discovered a piece of metal, specifically, stainless steel. It was about an inch long and seemed to have come from a cleaning brush. I called the manager and explained that this could seriously injure someone. It makes me question the safety of eating there. I can't emphasize enough how dangerous this could have been if I had been feeding it to my 6-year-old. The only reason I noticed the sharp metal wire is that I always eat with utensils. Safety over sales is the basis that consumers demand; one time is enough for me and my family.

Some of the many tables and seats.
    Eric P.

There is street parking and a parking lot round the back. It is Glendale so it's all metered parking. Nice place and clean. More than enough seating and spacious. The staff was really nice. I had a Single Black Truffle Burger. Very good and was more filling than it looked. But wow it's pretty small lol. I also got the parmesan fries with truffle dip. Also really good. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside and the dip was pretty awesome. Parmesan was just right. The Mango Passionade was refreshing. An employee offered to take our trays when we finished. All in all a delicious meal and great service. Thank you!

The crispy lace edges, the juicy center, the grilled onion, the slightly spicy sauce, the slightly sweet bun...all dreamworthy! Their sweet potato fries aren't all that great to look at, but omg, always perfectly cooked and salted! Perfectly complimented with the fry sauce. All that said, we were disappointed when we received our last order: 1. Packaging change (paper wrapped instead of cardboard box for the burgers) robbed the craveable edges of their crispness. Plus there was so much grease on the paper wraps it actually made it messier to eat than before. 2. The sauce has changed. The spice level increased (still not too spicy), but a side of sauce (which you pay more than a $1 for) is now sent in a premade branded packet. I have zero issues paying extra for a good sauce made fresh in-house, but instead of tasting like a fresh sauce made with mayo and spices, it now tastes of oil and spices and is not nearly as tasty. We noticed the difference on the burgers as well, so it seems like their sauce is all premade now and not nearly as good.

The Bucket was one of my favorite places to get a filthy burger, and in Eagle Rock, several of my favorites could be found, such as Original Tommy's Hamburger, The Oinkster, and Pete's Blue Chip. A very good friend of mine recently mentioned that this place had reopened and enjoyed a burger without inviting me! So, I had to see and taste for myself. If I remembered correctly, they had been closed for a while, and then I guess got resurrected. Apparently, they had been around since 1935, and when I started eating here, they had hilarious burger names, such as Cardiac Arrest, Heart Attack... you got the idea. Would this bucket contain all of the fond memories of years past!? PURCHASE(S) Firestone Walker Brewing Co. Trumer Pils German Pilsner Beer 4.9% ABV 16floz Draft ($7.00): Clear amber color, cider hoppy aroma, low body, crisp light hoppy flavor, smooth finish, and dry light hoppy aftertaste - a very easy brew. Double Western Burger ($10.35): A simple burger made with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion rings, and BBQ sauce all between a fluffy bun, this messy two-hander was strong with its thick patties and stuff squeezing out all over the place. This was a finger-licking good burger at a really nice price! [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 4.0 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings w/Aiolo Dipping Sauce 7pc ($5.65): A small portion with rings of large sizes, these were hot, dark golden browned, crunchy, and had a tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (not sweet Maui) pulled out at times. They were lightly oily while the aioli helped to give them more flavor. Mango Habanero Hot Wings & Veggie Sticks w/Bleu Cheese Dipping Sauce 6pc ($8.25): Somewhat small drummetes and wingettes, there was just enough tender meat on the bones while the mango habanero sauce was surprisingly hot and sweet, I also used the very tame bleu cheese sauce although it wasn't needed. The veggie stickers were small, fresh, and helped to cleanse the palate. At about $1.38/piece, it was a relatively good deal and tasty for what you got. SERVICE You had the option to order at a kiosk or with a friendly young man at the order window (I chose the latter). He easily and quickly took my order, gave me my beer while I waited, and less than ten minutes later, everything was packed up and ready to go - easy-peasy! PARKING (Varied: FREE this instance): I found a spot in their tiny lot (less than five spots). Otherwise, there seemed to be plenty of spots along the main drag of Eagle Rock Blvd. (be sure to read all posted signs) - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Basically a takeout business with a handful of communal metal tables, chairs, and some barstools in an outdoor covered patio with a lone order window. This was very barebones, rustic, and practical. There was plenty of natural lighting while some electric lights filled in the rest with some possible help from the nearby street lights. There was one TV but no background music. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I was very glad to see that The Bucket had returned (when, I had no idea), and I planned to reacquaint myself with their entire menu. Speaking of the menu, it now had a Mexican portion (burritos, tacos, tortas) that I didn't recall from previous times; furthermore, their burger selection has been scaled back with none of the earlier-mentioned burgers that led you closer to a hospital visit. Regardless, the food was very good, affordable, no frills, and the service was straightforward. Plus, I always preferred to give my business to local small mom & pop businesses. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $34.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

HR lived up to her hype and I can't wait to eat the leftovers we brought home after dining at this chicken sando institution. For me, it's definitely THE BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH I'VE EVER EATEN. Besides the spectacular grub, what I truly was impressed with was the GREAT customer service from Rico and his coworkers. There are two Howlin' Ray's in Los Angeles. The one we visited was located in Pasadena and their first location can be found in Chinatown. Both locations are popular with diners, so I recommended you visiting when the doors open. The Pasadena HR is next to Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee, it's across the street from Petco and Turner's Outdoorsman, and it's just down the road from WaBa Grill and a Starbucks. This was my wife and my first visit to HR and our daughter brought us here before 5pm. Please don't be discouraged by the long line of diners waiting to enter the restaurant. The staff do a great job getting the diners through the ordering counter and finding seats for customers wanting to dine in. You'll wait in line, order your food from the register, and then wait until a table opens up. The tables consists of booths inside and tables and chairs outside under a covered patio. The customer service from the young lady at the order counter, Rico and the team ensuring that diners are seated and taken care of, and the employees expediting the food was customer friendly and customer focused. The employees were so kind, hard working, and I was really impressed by their top notch customer service. Major props to the owners for making customer service a priority. Delicious food will make customers gravitate towards a restaurant, but when combined with impeccable customer service, I understand why customers like my daughter swear by Howlin' Ray's. Yo HR ownership group, San Diego needs one of your restaurants and I can assure you that customers will inundate your restaurant. I wanted to order as much as I could from their menu, so that I could verify if the hype was real. The hype is real folks!! I ordered The Sando, Shake Fries, Collard Greens, Potato Salad, and Sweet Peach Tea. We also ordered the following dipping sauces, which are must orders: Comeback Sauce, Tennessee Tang, and Sweet Money Mustard. Their Sando comes with a boneless breast, slaw, comeback sauce, and pickles encapsulated in a butter bun. I'm a fan of spicy chicken sandwiches, so for my spice level, I chose Medium. I wanted to enjoy my food, which is why I went with medium. Rico gave me a sample of a Medium Plus piece of chicken and I'm so glad I chose medium. Medium Plus was really hot, so imagine what the high spice levels taste. The Sando was huge, the chicken was tender and flavorful, and the components all ate really well together. Their collard greens were juicy and satisfying. Arguably some of the best I've eaten. The potato salad was creamy and dill infused. So yummy!! Loved their seasoned shake fries, which were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing after dipping them in the variety of sauces. I am definitely a Howlin' Ray's convert and wholeheartedly concur with my daughter's positive accolades of this chicken sandwich institution. Not only was their food memorable, but the customer service from their staff matched the greatness of the grub. If you're in Los Angeles, visit Howlin' Ray's.

I came here for the first time in decades!!!! I love how clean and spacious it was. I was able to order from the kiosk and they charge you .10 cent for a small paper bag!!! I got a bunch of their different breakfast biscuits and hashbrown. It was good and I did not have a bad experience here.

Imagine my surprise when I stepped inside to find an extremely pared down version of what used to be there. As I am finding with many fast food places, you have to order from a kiosk. Since I was only need a little something to eat, I ordered a McDouble. Upon checkout, it asked me to grab a table number and enter it. There were no table numbers to grab. Strike one! Then I went to grab the receipt and it was out of paper. Strike two!! I took a seat and waited, anxiously keeping an eye out for my order since I had no table number. After a few minutes, I head someone shout out "McDouble" so I headed to the counter and retrieved my order. So much for bringing it to my table. Strike three!!! I opened my sandwich and found the thinnest, smushed McDouble I have ever eaten. the patties themselves were so thin, my thumbnail was wider than the two patties. And the top of the bun seemed like it had been pressed down so much it was barely thicker than the two patties. The burger itself was lukewarm and barely edible. Before you jump up and say "It's McDonalds. What did you expect"?, please know that I have eaten McDoubles plenty of times in the past. Not only was this was a poorly executed example, it is obvious that McDonalds is shrinking its patties and raising its prices. Same thing happened to their Fish Sandwich. First they started giving you a half slice of cheese and then they switch to a smaller rectangle of fish rather than the square one you used to get. Sadly, this will probably be my last McDonalds meal. I can get much better food for the same price at other local places.
