Worst service EVER!!!! Arrived at Baltimore Harbor location around 9:40 PM. 9 employees standing around talking including 2 cooks. No one in line. After waiting approximately 5 minutes cashier walked up to the counter because she saw someone walk in. 'HELLO!! I've been waiting". Placed my order , 'cheeseburger no tomato, small fries and small Sprite.' Waited and waited for my food. Finally burger was ready. "Oops, sorry Sir, we're waiting on fries. 9 employees standing around and not one noticed that that there weren't any fresh fries. Waited additional 5 minutes for fries then food was handed to me. Now I have hot fries and a cold burger. Did I forget to mention that my small Sprite was made at the time of order but never given to me. Now I have hot fries, a cold burger and a watered down soda. Friendly service, mouthwatering food and a full stomach-- what more can you ask for? Baltimore Inner Harbor is a booming area, especially around lunch time on a weekend. I went in for their classic 'Shroom Burger with the gooey Munster cheese that leaks out the middle-- try not to drool now! Top that with a side of fries and BAM you've got a delicious, satisfying meal. The line moved at a responsable pace given all the people ready to buy food. Staff was friendly and professional taking care of the customers in line and also other (like me who needed a side of pickles after you've already received your food). The manager, David Jones, walked around to every table checking to see if he could get anything else for the customers and make sure they are satisfied. His kindness and quiet confidence was delightful. Everything about our experience was great except seating. As I mentioned earlier, the place was packed. Shake Shack is definitely my favorite burger spot in all of the D.C. & Maryland area. If you want an amazing burger experience, this should be number one on your list! I have been to a few Shake Shacks, and I have never been disappointed. The service is "seat yourself" and the cashiers were very nice! This was my first Shake Shack experience. I've tried going to their locations in NYC but there was always a big line up. This location thankfully, did not have the same rush as NY. The service here is pretty fast too. The decor is cute and neat and the organic food angle is nice. We had a large order of the Shack Burgers and two Special-of-the-day Burgers - with fried onions, cheese and Angus beef (I forgot the name). The meat patties were flavorful and juicy and of the right size (neither too tiny nor too ginormous to fit into my mouth) and the buns were fresh and buttery. The fried onions in the Special burger were such a good accompaniment to it that I found delicious and crunchy. The Shack Burger's ingredients were fresh and the Curly Fries were good too - very thick. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the burgers and I find the price to be justified. The burgers are not of the generic fast food taste and for its under-10$ prices, I would love to keep going back to this place. The shakes however can be skipped. Pros: Crinkle fries. Expansive menu. Cons: Bad service. Slightly $$$. Being a California girl, I knew I wanted to seek out a Shake Shack straight away and to compare it to In-n-Out. Generally speaking, I loved their crinkle fries. They were slightly reminiscent of the fries my family bought frozen and fried ourselves. The burger? I think I'll stick with my in n out burger? The reason? I like a crispy bun- not a brioche one. I also think the in n out burgers are more saucy. But that doesn't mean- I did not enjoy the shake shack burger. It was still good- and if someone offered me shake shack, I would not refuse. The only thing that turned me down is the service in this particular shake-shack. My friend ordered a burger with everything but the pickles. She received a burger with nothing (not even sauce) and pickles on the side. When she asked them about it, they just have her the rest of the insides on the side. But she was still sauce-less. I personally had to wait about 2 minutes to order my food when no one was in front of me and there were 3 cashiers. They were talking among themselves and "didn't notice me" coming in even though they occasionally glanced at me during the 2 minutes. read more

Aside from the personalized Baltimore shakes, the beautiful view of the harbor, and the fun Baltimore shake shack illustration there is... ...wait for it... OLD BAY ON THE CONDIMENTS BAR. Think about this for a minute. Old Bay. On crinkle cut fries. Or in your ketchup. Or on your burger. Or on your ice cream. GO CRAZY WITH THE OLD BAY! I didn't think anything could make Shake Shack crinkle cut fries better, but I was wrong. Because Old Bay. Act like a pro and get it with cheese sauce on the side. You're welcome. As a Californian and lover of In N Out, I feel that Shake Shack is overhyped and overpriced. I paid $29 for two small burgers, two orders of fries, and one shake. Sure the burgers were good and the ingredients were "fresh" or whatever, but at almost $30 /meal they had better be practically off the cow. My husband and I both could not stop thinking about how many In N Out burgers we could have gotten for the same price, and how much more filling that would have been than what we got at Shake Shack. Now that being said, even though the place was pretty packed when we got there at lunchtime, the line moved quickly and the employees were super nice. One of them even walked me from the patio to the bathroom to input the bathroom code for me even though I could have looked it up on the receipt. This location is in a super touristy area; parking might be scarce. Also, it's Baltimore so be prepared to have homeless people staring at you from the curb if you eat at one of the tables outside. read more

I don't typically eat burgers but my boyfriend always wanted to check out Shake Shack and we finally did when we visited Baltimore. While my boyfriend got his burger and bacon cheese fries, I got a Shack-Cago Dog and Apple Pie a la mode shake. Out of all of these four, I really enjoyed the bacon cheese fries the most. It was pretty tasty and it left both my boyfriend and I wanting more but we know we shouldn't lol. He also thoroughly enjoyed his burger and told me he'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars. Since I ate the Shack-cago dog, I can say that I thought it was good but I have had better hot dogs before. I never actually had a legit and traditional Chicago Hot Dog but this one still is pretty satisfying to eat, so I'd give it a 3 out of 5. The shake was tasty at the beginning too but it does get real sweet as you drink more and more of it. It definitely will give you that sugar rush. I placed an oder through DoorDash. ShakeShake app should allow you to request condiments. This is the most driest tasteless unappealing meal that I had to force myself to eat because it was not a cheap lunch. I had the most driest Burger, fries and nuggets. If you're willing to walk 2-3 blocks you can park for cheap/free if you go north towards Baltimore St. This place is packed during the day but relatively empty in the evening. Dining area was clean and staff was friendly. After my second visit tonight I feel comfortable saying this is my favorite fast or fast-casual chain burger ahead of Bobby's Burger Palace and Five Guys. They smash the patties on the flat top with a spatula while they cook to develop a nice crust on the outside. Contrary to popular opinion, this does not make burgers dry or crumbly - we aren't using 93/7 ground beef and murdering it to well-done here. The cheese is melty and holds everything together nicely. It's not as large volumetrically as any other double cheeseburger I've had, but after giving it 5 minutes in my stomach it felt pretty heavy. The fries are crispy and salty but not super flavorful like Five Guys' fries or any other freshly cut fries. They do have Old Bay on the counter though (possibly a Baltimore thing?), and that's enough to make any potato tasty. read more

I got just the basic hamburger which says on the menu that it comes with lettuce, tomato etc but when mine came it was butt naked I was like what is this so of course I took it back to see what went wrong and they told me that I have to ask for lettuce and tomato for that particular burger even though it says that's how it comes in the menu. Last week, I hit up Shake Shack to try their limited edition BBQ menu and sampled everything, which was all sorts of awesomesauce. Here are the items I devoured: BBQ ShackMeister Burger, BBQ Chick'n Shack, BBQ Bacon Cheese Fries, and three different seasonal shakes. The three shakes were: Mint Cookies & Cream, Mud Pie, and Salted Vanilla Toffee. The mint flavor was by far the best in my opinion - it was refreshing and just the right amount of sweet. Quite possibly the best shake I've had in a while! It contained mint frozen custard and chocolate wafer cookie crumbles. Mud Pie, marshmallow custard blended with fudge and coffee, was way too sweet for me, but Salted Vanilla Toffee was pretty good. All three drinks were topped with whipped cream, but you can definitely get it without! My fave item was definitely the ShackMeister burger - made of 100% all-natural Angus beef, it was topped with cheese, crispy ale-marinated shallots and BBQ sauce. Anywho, If you haven't tried their new menu out yet, you need to go STAT! You really can't go wrong with anything, but if you decide to get a shake, go with the mint. read more

We stopped here for lunch while visiting Baltimore because we knew what to expect and wanted to be in and out. We also don't have a Shake Shack near our hometown and we were highly excited about the chance to have a Chicken Hotdog again. So that's what we got, Chicken hotdogs, grilled cheeses (for the kids) and some cheese fries. Everything was as expected from a Shake Shack. The chicken hot dogs are soooo good. This place was hopping. It was so busy. We had to stalk the tables until anyone even looked like they were rising from their chairs to jump on their table so we would have a spot. Thankfully, it didn't take long. So if you plan to go around the lunch or dinner, get ready for stalking tables. I will say one thing...the employees here are AMAZING. There was one dude who was just working the floor. He was clearing away people's trash, asking if people wanted refills on drinks, heck, he even brought napkins to us without us asking. He was super pleasant and helpful!!! This was the best service I ever had at a Shake Shack. We got 2 peanut butter shakes to go because, well, this is the Shake Shack. I only got to drink half because my vulture children kept stealing it from me to finish. The Peanut Butter Shake is my favorite! Considering we were there at 1pm on a Saturday, they did an excellent job taking orders and getting food out efficiently - we waited 15mins for lunch for four people. All of the employees were welcoming and didn't seem perturbed by the crowd. They tried to sanitize tables between guests when another family didn't swoop in to sit down immediately. One star left off for the bathroom situation - only TWO single toilets for a restaurant in this location that serves crows this large was a design error that led to a long wait. They need stalls. It wouldn't be my first choice over many other restaurants, but I was being nice. I ordered single smoke burger, fries, and lemonade. I have had their burgers before and I was not impressed by it. Went here yesterday for lunch and I ordered one double and one single shackburger, one side of fries, and a vanilla milkshake. It was delicious. I assume the fries were as large as Five Guys. The fries weren't and not as good as Five Guys fries. The milkshake was good. Nothing special, but it well with the meal. The burgers are a lot better than Five Guys. Not as greasy. They tasted fresh. If they added fries similar to Five Guys it would be prefect. With that said, next time I'm skipping the fries and getting more burgers. Four stars because of their fries.
