I've had good burger joints over the years but sadly Shake Shack doesn't fit that criteria. I don't understand what made this place popular for all these and I decided to try it out for myself since I was disappointed the first time back in Soho. Unfortunately, my opinion hasn't changed a bit because these burgers aren't worth all the hype whatsoever. It feels like I'm just eating a bland piece of meat on a bun and is mostly just good with the Shack sauce and nothing else. The Shack Stack I thought was pretty bad because of the shroom party in the middle with all that heavy cheese which feels very fattening. The Parmesan Cheese Fries didn't help either cause one it has a very strong smell and the fries aren't really much in flavor even with the Truffle sauce; which is good for while, but it eventually looses its complexity. The only thing I really like was my Shake because that's what I always been a fan of and still searching for the best milkshake I'll ever taste. RAW HAMBURGER PATTY!!! I ate half the burger before I realized that the inside of the burger patty was raw and pink. I have health issues where I have to be careful about not eating raw meats, fish or even deli meats. I don't want to live in fear for days after consuming a potentially unsafe hamburger patty that was not even cooked to Shake Shacks standard of medium well (according to the manager I talked to)....meaning no pink. My family has eaten their regularly since this store opened in Pasadena. In the future I will have to cut all my burgers in half before eating them. I haven't had a problem with the doneness of my burger until recently so I will give Shake Shack another try but there are so many other burger places in Pasadena. I don't want to feel that I am jeopardizing my health every time I eat at Shake Shack Pasadena. I recently had a family member, who is in their 20's, hospitalized for 3 days after eating a beef dish at a fast food place in LA. 5 months later their gut still isn't completely normal. Raw ground beef needs to be cooked thoroughly in a fast food situation. Some of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some outdoor seating available with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While my friend and I were here dining in and eating our food in this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment unless they are on a leash or held. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is really small. It can probably fit like 10 to 12 cars. If the lot is full, you will have to park on the street. Food: My friend and I ordered a smoke shack, plain hamburger, fries, and bacon cheese fries. I actually really enjoyed my smoke shack. The cherry pepper made the burger 10x more appetizing and delicious. I loved the kick it gave my tastebuds. The crispy bacon was really good in the burger too. My friend hates burger toppings, so she got a plain burger. She enjoyed her plain burger. She liked how thick the beef patties were. We shared French fries. We both really enjoyed both fries because they were very crunchy. However, our favorite fries was the bacon and cheese fries because they use nacho cheese for the fries. The nacho cheese and bacon made the fries very mouthwatering and it made us both want more. I sadly decided to remove one star because of the price. I hate to be "that guy" by going back to the window again a minute later, but circumstances had changed. I told her I had gotten a text saying my order was ready and that I should go to the counter, and showed it to her. She looked at it, and without asking my name or looking at the 6-8 bags of food sitting nearby (foreshadowing is a narrative technique), told me it was being "packaged" right now, and I'd be called. Alrighty. I went back to stand around with the dozen or so folks who were waiting, and I waited also. I'm hungry. I waited longer. I ran out of stuff to doomscroll, so now I'm bored and hungry. I'm downgrading my review for the tone deaf response I got from Jake. He clearly didn't read my review or the email I sent after he asked me to send it. He stated that we can "come in person" and order. If he would have read all these reviews eviscerating this location for having to come in person and having that be a total disaster, maybe he shouldn't have completely dismissed all these people, myself included. The management is clearly inept and I will not waste my time trying to make something work at a location where they clearly do not care if the customer gets hot food and a decent experience. Be ready to get texts when your food isn't ready, try to get a round the throngs of people not getting their food, despite it sitting on a table and getting lukewarm food because the chaos is consuming the employees. They are indifferently prepared and slopped together, for the most part. Amid the chaos, the burgers and fries are pretty good when warm, the shakes great. I just wish they could get their act together on the glitchy web ordering. The phone gets directed to their corporate office also. They don't respond either. The employees are nice and not at fault here, for the most part. The food often sits a bit because the disorganization, so it's not always super hot. Last round the fries were kind of lukewarm and the burgers not hot. They were for my kids, who usually complain something is too hot. In this case, I had to heat it up by the time I got home, about 10 minutes after I got my food. Last time the fries were cold and I actually sent them back because they were not even warm. Finally got to try shake shack!! I'm so late to this omg. My bf and I both ordered a shake stack which is a cheeseburger with the shroom burger. The burger was like almost $11 each, but it was pretty stacked!! The shroom was sooo crispy, juicy, and cheesy. Yum!! I really liked the shroom part because I feel like I haven't had it anywhere else. We also ordered a side of cheese fries. I normally don't like crinkle cut fries, but these were pretty good because they were more crispy than most places. And extra shake sauce is a MUST!! I'd skip the ranch because it tasted a little weird to us. This fast food joint is definitely not cheap, but I'd say that the quality is pretty good. The shroom part is definitely my fave so I think I could just get that by itself next time. There's self ordering systems on the side for people paying with card or you can go up to the cashier to pay with cash. This Shake Shack can get pretty busy at night especially with the small parking lot. The restaurant is COVID compliant and makes it easy to get your food especially with the various different available options. You can order on the app and get curbside where they bring the food to your car in the designated spots. You can order online and go the window on the side of the restaurant to pick up. Or you can wait in line and enter a few people at a time to order inside. Overall I enjoyed the experience of just parking and walking up to the window to grab the food and leave. I ordered the Fire Hot Chicken Sandwich which was pretty good. It comes with pickles and cold slaw which was surprisingly very tasty, as I am not much of a slaw fan. The chicken was very tasty and crispy on the outside which made the sandwich very enjoyable and gave it some texture, especially since the bun is soft and the slaw is soft. I am knocking it one star as I ordered fries which were luke warm. Other than that, Shake Shack is always a great place to go and eat. read more

This is the worst experience I have had trying to get food in 2020. Think about that. The employees at this Shake Shack have set a new low standard. I used the app to order ahead, and set the time. Got the text my order was ready just before I could get into the parking lot. I got into the lot and found the right spot, but the app was not working so I got out and waited at the window for a short time. The woman there was only concerned with shouting out names and not acknowledging people who walked up with questions. I waited then went over to the man at the door and told him I had placed an order. He said my name would be called at the window. I waited at the window for a longer time. They were very concerned about the people who ordered but had not arrived. She yelled out for different orders and had people walk outside calling out for them, but there was no answer.They showed little interest in anything else. Eventually I was able to get her attention before the window closed and gave her my name, asked about my order. She said they were "wrapping it up" and to just wait. People came and went. Some placed their orders there, ate, and left while I stayed. I must have been invisible (being Black) wearing my shirt and tie. After 45 minutes I went back to the guy at the door and showed him the app. It had my name and showed my order as complete. So I asked what was going on. He then walked back into the lobby and looked at two paper bags that I had seen in the windows the entire time I was there. He picked one up and gave it to me, expecting me to take it and leave. "Has this been sitting in the window for 45 minutes? ", I asked. "We didn't see your car", was his attempt at a reply. I then pointed at my car, sitting in the spot where I took the picture of the "Curbside Pickup" sign. It's the first one you see when looking out the front door!! The description of my car was on the receipt! He then went on to say "If you want I can have it made again." IF?? At this point all I heard was "Just wait longer." Do you want to provide (any level of) customer service? Does it matter to you that every customer feels like they matter, or just most of them? One of the worst restaurant experiences of my lifetime. The order consisted of two burgers, one order of fries, and two drinks and the total slightly rounded up was $50...incredible. I also had trouble getting to an attendant at the pick up window who also had a negative attitude. How could the experience get worse? The flimsy paper bag they placed the order in broke on the way to the car, they failed to deliver the eating utensils as requested, and when I got home I discovered the food delivered was not what I ordered. For me personally it won't be a burger I will crave or go specifically for but if it's convenient, I wouldn't mind having it again and their shake sauce in the burger is pretty good. COVID precautions are being taken and after placing your order in the kiosk, you wait in your car or outside for a text they send when your order is ready at a side window. You can also order online and pick it up on the side window. I had the shake burger which was a pretty normal cheeseburger and spicy fries. They are fries with cayenne sprinkled on them. FINALLY, A PASADENA LOCATION! I've always had to go out of my way and head to Glendale for their nearest location so I'm glad to see that they opened a new location here. It's on the pricey side for what you get, but everything was good as always so definitely worth a visit! For the first time in forever, I gave Shake Shack another try~~~! And, can I just, say something crazy? It was honestly really good. Sure, I can dock a star for the price, but nah. Got the single shack burger without any add-ons, an order of basic fries, and a black & white shake. It wasn't super busy on a weekday so I was able to get an indoor table, and the meal was promptly served in less than ten minutes. First of all, everything just looked aesthetically pleasing so what's advertised is really what you get. The patty was excellent and tasted of quality, combined with super fresh lettuce &tomatoes, perfectly melted cheese, the "secret sauce" and those magical buns. No joke, the BEST burger buns I've ever had. Just melts in your mouth. The fries were cooked perfectly, wonderfully crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, not at all over fried. The milkshake was also yummy and really wasn't too sweet, as others have mentioned. Not being nauseatingly sweet is always a win for me, haha. I know the greatest competition is In-N-Out and being a LA girl, I love me some In-N-Out. But I gotta be honest in that Shake Shack really delivered! The quality of the meat is definitely better and the patty-to- bun ratio is much better so that you get an even bite from beginning to end, which almost never happens with In-N-Out. I've had, like, a LOT of In-N-Out over the years so this is a fair statement. Also, does anyone actually like In-N-Out fries??? I do have to say though, and this is subjective of course, that In-N-Out is still superior when it comes to the overall flavor factor. Perhaps Shake Shack takes on a more health conscious approach, hence less sodium and fats? Just guessing here. As for the cost, yes it's definitely more expensive and the burgers are a bit smaller. But honestly, there are far more expensive foods out there and the meal was the perfect portion for me. It was substantial without making you feel stuffed or gross. I mean, not everything has to be large. In conclusion, I think it's good to switch it up once in a while. Shake Shack is a strong contender with great food/beverages to offer, not to mention vegetarian and vegan friendly options as well. Parking: There are two small lots but because of how busy it is, the turnaround on parking spots are slow. I managed to find parking on the street. Filmore is a very small, busy, steep street. I recommend trying to find parking on Marengo and walk over to Shake Shack. I tried ordering through the app but it only says next available slot time which is usually 15 minutes later but there is no order button. I have ordered via the app at the Burbank and Glendale location and had no issue. There is a huge crowd at Shack Shake and I couldn't immediately tell who was in line or who was waiting. I was able to order and waited for a while. The fries I got was unfortunately soggy. Kudos to the workers there for being so friendly given how busy and stressful it is working during the pandemic. Also doesn't help that people are waiting in the parking lot as cars are trying to go in and out. Shake Shack Pasadena - Chili, cheese, and regular fries! - Burgers Near Me - Pasadena, California

We've been hearing about the famous Shake Shack for years and decided to try it out today. We had: Shroom burger (crispy outside, juicy inside, on the small side for a portabello) 2x Hot Chicken sandwiches (definitely brings the heat, crispy and juicy inside) Spicy & regular fries (again, the spice makes me cry and I love it) Chocolate shake (super thick and creamy. Not too sweet) TOTAL $40.06 There's a bit of chaos outside the store. You stand in line to go inside to place order, then pick up at window outside. Also, you have to wait in a separate line once you've gotten your food, if you want a table. So, lots of people standing in the parking lot waiting for food. The young woman at the door seemed scared to tell me the table situation, lol. Counter person took order quickly, went over to make sure, got my initials and phone # (they text when your food is ready for pick up) all with a smile on her face. The food was delicious. Looking at this burger I would definitely say that it is a good looking burger. After tasting it though I would say it's a fine burger. Too salty for me and I do love salt but this was a little too heavy handed. They're also wasn't enough sauce on the burger so I had to get more. I added malt to my chocolate shake but I really couldn't taste the malt flavor. It was slightly different than a chocolate shake but not malt. Couldn't really figure out what that added flavor was. Overall, it's a decent burger but not something I would crave. Goldburger on York still holds the top seat. read more

Shake Shack Pasadena - Double cheese burger w/ Fries & lemonade - Burgers Near Me - Pasadena, California

$20 for a burger (single), fries, and a shake (with no whipped cream) is absurd. Was still hungry after finishing it all too. Also, the ordering / window pickup system at this location is confusing and awkward to stand around OUTSIDE in a parking lot while you wait for your food. Just go to In-N-Out for a better priced and more efficient experience. read more

Waited for 45 minutes for some chicken nuggets and fries and when I followed up on my order they gave me an attitude just to tell me 10 minutes later that they lost the order. read more
