If you opt to replace your buns with lettuce, this is what you get!

It's a Shake Shack, and it's delicious. The food, not the building. This Shake Shack offers indoor seating only, but you can take your order across the street to the newly-opened Jefferson Plaza to enjoy (some) nature. They have a website you can order from, and it works like a charm. I've been here several times, and I've shamelessly gotten the lettuce bun for my Shake Shack burgers, because I'm old[1]. [1] And maybe because I love a lettuce-wrapped burger? That's not wrong, right?

Not even pricey even though everyone says it is. For a shake, sandwich, and fries it's $20 or less

The staff have the process down. Quality food, quality facility. , and just wish they'd bring back their coffee shake.

Great visit with the chess team! Happy to receive such quick and efficient service from the wait staff here. Avocado burger was also very delicious!

Updating my review because, honestly, this Shake Shack kills it. Despite being constantly bombarded with grouchy people impatient for their orders, the staff is polite. They'll be nice to you if you're nice to them, so be nice to them!

A very nice location and likely the best in Philly. This Shake Shack is one of the first to introduce a self order and payment system. It is very efficient and makes it easy to order without having to wait in a long line. The service is fast and the workers are extremely nice and talkative. The staff will go above and beyond to make your experience great here. This establishment is very clean and has very nice decor and a good amount of searing and televisions. I would also like to complement the great music choice. The food here is very good. A new item on the menu is the chicken bites, which come in a variety of sizes. These bites are brand new and extremely tasty. They have a soft juicy consistency on the and are very crispy on the outside. They are probably the best I've ever eaten at a fast food joint. Well seasoned and definitely a great addition to the menu. I also recommend any of the burgers and shakes on the menu. They are always good and have a great taste. They have excellent lemonade and will give you refills if you ask. This is definitely the best location of Shake Shack that I have ever been to. Staff are nicer than most joints and the self order as well as the cashier order are both options here. It is very convenient and they give you very good service. I strongly recommend this location

Bacon cheese burger, Parmesan Garlic Fries with Black Truffle Sauce

My first Shake Shack visit was here last week. As a long time CA resident and afficionado I understand that this in a high-class homage to a famous west coast burger chain (starts with In and ends with Out!). I will say quite different but a very enjoyable experience. Burger: very fluffy & soft yellow potato bun but with a slightly sweet flavor. Burgers are smashed and crispy, and you can tell the meat is a good quality grind. Cheese is expectable melty, bacon was pretty good and a nice smoke level (can't say that it was outstanding, but enjoyable). I think the Parmesan truffle fries were the champ: the truffle sauce is decadently rich, and the Parmesan was, at best, hiding like a barely glistening early season snowfall that quickly disappears...slightly pathetic. But the wavy fries are crispy and dynamite with that super thick truffle sauce. Yes I would eat here again if I want to splurge on a high-quality fast food burger. But I'd just as soon pay ~2x less and get the OG west-coast deal that makes up in style and value, compared to what Shake Shack does with quality and class.

I visited for lunch during Restaurant Week, which I enjoyed because of its close proximity to the corporate hub in Center City where I work and for its solid menu. I was seated quickly at a high-top for my noon reservation. The restaurant is much larger inside than it looks, split in half with the left providing an upscale bar aesthetic while the right presents a quieter, modern lounge feel. (It seemed like service staff was directing those with previously-booked OpenTable RSVPs to the lounge side.) Service was great, as my waitress continuously checked in during my meal even as more customers arrived throughout the lunch period. I appreciated being offered to add fries on my burger order, as Village Whiskey didn't have it automatically added on the RW menu. The only drawback was she forgot to ask how I wanted my burger cooked, but it came out medium rare which is the way I eat it regardless. I trust that's how they default, which is a good sign. The Food Breakdown: Deviled Eggs (4/5) - Classic, solid, and a good starter. I honestly selected it since the other appetizer options didn't really appeal to me, but nothing spectacular or negative about it. Four comes with each order. All-American Burger (5/5) - Fantastic. I'm not a pickle enjoyer, but the acidity just blended into each juicy bite. The jam had a slight kick, and you can taste the fattiness within the double Wagyu smash patties. High-quality all around and a solid portion size. Duck Fat Fries (4/5) - They were well-seasoned, and each order comes with a small side of ketchup. Granted I didn't ask, but I almost wish they offered a spicy mayo instead because it would complement the crunchiness better. Overall, the food quality and taste were superb. My only caveat was the price, knowing that $35 after tax and gratuity for lunch (without an additional drink) is costly. I wouldn't be able to come everyday, but it certainly has my vote for sharing with others the destination that has an immaculate burger.

The wait staff informed me that there was NO ROOM for us in the EMPTY seating area, so we were seated next door in the bar area. If you can tell me why there was no room in an empty restaurant for a party who arrived ON TIME, please someone let me know. At any rate the bar area was fun and lively but a bit narrow to navigate. Since it was happy hour, we ordered all of the $6 Snacks and some $8 snack items. OOOK, here we go: Hot chicken slider( you only get 1 folks) very good and had the right amount of toppings 5/5 Pulled pork slider: Very flavorful, juicy, and tender: 5/5 Caesar salad: 5/5 Deviled eggs. Good, but too salty Fried pickles: Good, but too salty Chicken & Andouille Gumbo: This was excellent. The braised chicken thighs were seasoned well and very tender. The pickled red onions really elevated this dish. 5/5 The grilled salmon had a great char and crunch. It was not dry nor over cooked. 5/5 The burger was delicious just as a burger should be and the famous duck fat fries were very crunchy. 5/5 for both Happy hour is really the time to go, but make sure they honor your reservation. Til we eat again....

On a whim, I called Butcher Bar and told them I know it's last minute on a Saturday night, but could they accommodate 9 people. They told me if we were there in 30 minutes they could make it work, so we rushed over. We sat at the bar for drinks as they cleaned up a table. They overheard us talking about how The Trough would be nice (feeds 8 for $300, but was more than enough for us 9), and said if we wanted that they could get it started as the table was prepared. We said yes, and were sat a few minutes later with drinks in hand. Jenna (Gema? She had grape earrings) was a fantastic server and just so kind and attentive. She kept the drinks flowing and The Trough arrived sooner than I expected and was everything I wanted for dinner and more. I can't thank Butcher Bar enough for saving the night for my 40th and just providing a fantastic experience. We'll be back, and we promise to give more notice next time! :)

A quick note for first-time visitors: the restaurant has multiple entrances, and I initially arrived at the back door. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful in directing me to the correct entrance. The space has a unique atmosphere. I started with a cocktail and really enjoyed it. It was fruity, well-balanced, and had just the right amount of alcohol without being overpowering. Based on recommendations, I ordered the burger. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype for me. It could have been cooked better, and overall I wasn't particularly impressed with it. What stood out most was the service.
